Good solid entertainment

This review is from: White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf (VHS Tape) While this movie was not what I expected - a sequel to White Fang - it proved to be good solid entertainment. Good adventure, thought-provoking themes, and the coming of age of a young man, a young woman, set in a beautiful world. I highly recommend it. a classic movie

Spoiler alertA movie like this is an all time classic. It is a movie where an audienceof any age can watch. This film represents a relationship between humanandanimal, and how it feels to have an animal companion. The main characterinthis movie has a quest to find himself and a goal in life. I think manypeople can relate to how the main character feels, even though they mightnot be able to relate to the specific situation.The main character in this movie is Henry Casey. He is a gold miner,livingon his own with his wolf, White Fang. Henry was on his way to SanFranciscoto make more money and pursue a better job in the gold mining field. Atthistime, an Indian named Lily has vision about a wolf and the wolf'sjourney.This tribe is suffering food shortage because the caribou won't return.Thewolf's job in her dream was to bring back the caribou. Lily goes on ajourney to find this white wolf and bring him back to seek the caribou.Around this time, Henry and Lily cross paths. Henry fell overboard intotheriver and so did White Fang. Lily saw this, and what she saw was the wolfgoing under, and the man coming up. She thought this was the white wolfinher dream.She brought him back to her village and nursed him back to health. Atfirsthe rejected the idea of the journey and wanted to go back home. Later on,heagreed and started off this escapade with his wolf and Lily. Together,theywent on a journey to find a way to bring back the caribou. Along the way,Henry found a place for himself. He felt a sense of need and he was abletohelp. Henry found out that gold was not all that glitters, and it was notall he needed.I think this movie is a good movie to show how people can beaccomplished.It shows how things can be done and things can turn out for the best. Itisa great movie for any occasion and a movie for any ageaudience.

action and adventure

The epic movie,White Fang 2, is about a young man. This man was namedHenry. Henry lived alone in the forest and mined with his best friend, awolf named White Fang. One nice day they go fishing on the river and theyget caught in the dangerous rapids. Henry is rescued by Lily, an beautifulIndian girl, who takes him to her village. Secretly Henry likes Lily, butshe has been hurt by white men before. In Lily's Indian village, WhiteFangis very important and they hold ceremonies in honor of him. The tribe'selder named Moses thinks that Henry is the man form of White Fang andtheybegin to worship him. The tribe tells Henry he needs to go find thecaribouto get food for the winter.I reccomend this movie for anyone who likes action, adventure movies. Thismovie also had a little bit of romance, but nothing to serious. I thinkthismovie is great for kids and adults of all ages.

Nothing spectacular, could be much worse.

White Fang 2 is about a boy named Henry Casey. Henry prospects for goldinAlaska with his pet wolf named White Fang. He aspires to get to SanFrancisco after he mines enough gold. The area where he lives isinhabitedby Native Americans. They are dying out because there are no caribou.Lilly, a Native American princess, has a dream about a wolf leading her tothe caribou.She tells her elders about her vision and they send her off to findthewolf. Lilly sees White Fang sink in the river. She sees Henry surface,andbelieves that he is the wolf. Lilly brings Henry back to her tribe.WhiteFang turns up in the village alive. He and Henry stay with the NativeAmericans in the village. Henry becomes assimilated into their culture.Heis given the name White Wolf.This movie was very interesting. It shows how people can change.WhiteFang 2 also sheds insight on the Native American culture, and what happenswhen their way of life and the natural code is tampered with by outsiders.This is a very good movie for young people.

Disney Outdoor Cinema - Prepare to be entertained!

Even though "White Fang" featured Ethan Hawke and was a box office hit, Istill love "White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf" much better. This tellingpicks up right after the original left off. Ethan Hawke's character is awayon a trip and has his friend (played by the talented Scott Bairstow) lookafter his half-dog, half-wolf. This time around, both of them must usetheirsharp and cunning instincts for survival when they risk it all to protect apeaceful Native American tribe whose homeland is targeted by dangerousminers.My favorite critic, Roger Ebert, and I both agree on everything. Iguaranteeif its a movie I love, he has something good to say about it. He said thefilm was "A rousing adventure!" I agree with him. Remember the greatclassicfilms of the past Disney was popular for (Swiss Family Robinson, DavyCrockett, etc.)? If only Disney made more films like thisone.All in all, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. There is so muchadventure and excitement that both children and adults will enjoy it. Great Family Movie

This review is from: White Fang 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape) I have watched this movie a number of times and still find the story to be interesting. The simplicity and predictability of this movie makes it a great movie for younger elementary children, but there is enough plot and action to keep the family entertained. I enjoy the Alaskan setting and the images of the Haida village. There is a love story woven in with the young hero's role of finding the caribou and saving the village, but neither plot goes into anything overly sentimental or complicated. I have used this movie in a fourth grade classroom to have them identify the main characters, the setting, the problem(plot), and the solution: things that are found in any good story, be it written or in a movie. They enjoyed the movie and it worked well for the assignment. This is a great family movie because it contains these basic story elements and does it well, making it watchable again and again.

Decent Adventure Story

White Fang 2 was about a man named Henry who normally lived alone andminedfor gold with his wolf, White Fang. One day they go rafting down theriverand they get caught in the rapids. Henry is rescued by Lily, an Indiangirl,who takes him to her village, however White Fang was never recovered.Whenthey arrive at Lily's village, White Wolf is of great importance and theyhold ceremonies in honor of him, the tribe mistakes Henry as White Wolfinwhite man form and begins to worship him. Moses tells him he needs to goupthe mountain and find the caribou because the village was starving. InMoses' dreams he sees Lily being led to the caribou by WhiteFang.I think the movie was decent enough to be called a good movie. I don'tthink it was that great because I don't really like gold mine/adventuretypeof movies. Although, this movie did help me realize that gold diggermoviesaren't all bad.

Another Great Adventure...................

In this movie Jack has gone back to San Francisco and his friend Henry is mining his claim and caring for White Fang. This story is mixed with Native American spiritualality and mysticism. They are in need of the white wolf (White Fang, or is it Henry?) to lead them to the caribou they are in need of to prevent starvation among their people.This sequel is very entertaining with beautiful scenery.A great family film.

Not sure, but I am still wondering what happened to the gold. Remember when Henry was going down the river with White Fang and all of that Gold? Well, what happened to all that Gold, really?:)

Forget This Lemon, And Stick With The Original 'White Fang'

What a very disappointing sequel! The first movie, "White Fang," was anoutstanding adventure story. It is one of the best Disney movies madeduring their "slump" period of the '80s to the early '90s. This movieis one of the worst movies they ever made. It abandoned all the goodingredients the first film had just to get in its politically-correctnonsense. Yes, this is the beginnings of the PC period which is goingfull force now.White Fang had an adult appeal to it; it was not a movie just for kids.With that in mind, they can zap 'em with their anti-Christian bias byshowing a minister in an evil light for 99 percent of the film. In theend, the guy is shown to be someone in disguise; not really aminister....but Disney's mission is accomplished. Under that ploy - anddon't be naive not to think this was the idea - kids got a bad view ofa minister for almost the entire time. At the same time, they get toldand shown how valid all the Native American superstitions are! This,too, is an old Disney ploy, but rarely exhibited as blatantly as inthis film. Add to that simply a dumb story and you have a real poorsequel, a real loser of a film.

A little to lovey-dovey

White Fang-- Story about a wolf dog taken from the north, trained to be sled dog, goes into fighting rings, finds loveWhite Fang2: Myth of the White Wolf-- Movie about the master of White Fang, and an indian girl. White Fang is around a little.White Fang2 had little to nothing about our all time favorite wolf-dog White Fang. It is mainly about his master, falling in love. I kept waiting for at least one scene with White Fang! The first movie was more like it.This was a little boring, I don't really recommend it unless you like a lot of boring flirty romance, and little wolf.

A fantastic movie

***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS***White fang 2 was a great movie. It was very touching when I saw how muchHenry Casey loved White Fang and Lily. It was very adventurous. I will nowreview the whole story from beginning to end. It was a great love storyandwas nice to see.Henry Casey was a miner. He went to Alaska to mine some gold and left hishome San Francisco. He brought his friend, White Fang with him. White Fangwas a wolf that was very smart and protected Henry. They cared for eachother very much. Henry and White Fang stayed in a small house at Alaska.There was a thief that tried to steal all of Henry's gold. Fortunately, it was not stolen. Henry and White Fang were on theriver with a small canoe. Suddenly, mighty waves hit the river. The twofell out of the canoe and were hope less in the water. It was a waterfalland they could not do anything. Henry Casey was just lying on the surface.Lilly, a Indian girl found him. Luckily, Henry had survived so Lillycarriedhim to her hometown. White Fang had survived but no one has yet seen him.Later, Henry woke up and he introduced himself to the Indian tribe. Hebecame good friends with Moses and Peter. Moses was the father of Peterandhe was the leader or their tribe. They were both very nice. Later on,WhiteFang was found and returned to Henry. Lilly and Henry fell in love. Theywere very passionate. White men had come to Alaska to take all of the goldmine and keep it a secret from the Indians. The Indians were starving.Henrywas the hero and saved the Indians. He destroyed the white men. Later on.Lilly and Henry gets married. White Fang met a female wolf and they hadbabies. Unfortunately at the end, Peter dies. That was very heartbreaking.This movie fabulous. It wasn't time wasting and quite nice. I hope I couldsee more movies like this. The author of this movie did a nice job oncreating a good story like this. Disney is the best.

White Fang - great show!

This review is from: White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf (DVD) This is a great show for the entire family about life in the early Alaskan state and in the life of a young man who now has a claim to take care and how he gets through in taking care of it with the help of another guy whose lived there before him. It tells of the good and bad times that go on with owning a claim and what is involved in doing so.

White Fang 2 is a wonderful movie filled with fun and adventure. HenryCaseywas a miner who was living a bachelor life in the wild. His onlycompanionis a wolf dog named White Fang. Later, on a trip to cash in his gold,Henrymeets a Native American tribe who believes he is a wolf. In this movie,Henry finds the courage in him and learns about what is truly valuable inlife.I rate this movie a seven out of ten. It is a great family movie aboutcourage and adventure. White Fang Two will leave you sighing happily. Itisa great movie that can be watched again and again.

So, in the end he learns tolive a different way and be happier than when he was living his lifebefore.White Fang 2 is an adventure story that can be for all ages. It is a greatfamily movie for everyone to watch. It was a wonderful sequel and can bewatched again and again. It teaches the spectators about life and is agreatrole model movie for anyone.
