Just watch it for a few laughs.

To be completely honest, I only expected this movie to be popcorn fun.I started very weak and extremely cheesy. The way Cameron Díaz showsAshton Kutcher the ring after he wins in Vegas is one of the cheesiestscenes I've seen in Hollywood's crap.Then the movie gets really dull, pointless, and not funny. Fortunately,it gets better on the second half and that's because it takes anunconventional way in difference with similar movies.Towards the ending it gets actually funny and almost creative.The performances are just fine. Cameron Díaz is always sexy and bubbly.Her legs are a delight to watch. Ashton Kutcher is good in this role.Just as goofy as ever. Lake Bell is the highlight in my opinion. She'sextremely hot, candy for the eye, and her performance is actuallyfunny. I liked when she was called stripper and when Jason S.'scharacter draws an obscene picture to her during the court meeting. Theguest cameos are funny. Zack G. is hilarious.Watch this movie only if it airs on cable. It's not worth your moneybut it's up for a few good laughs.

A good comedy movie to start the summer off with

What Happens In Vegas was a very good romantic comedy. It was veryfunny and had you laughing at pretty much every scene. It was a laughout loud comedy. Ashton Kutcher was very good and made this movie sofunny. Cameron Diaz was funny as well and played her part very well. Ithought that the story was very original and funny. I think that it wasunique and a very cute story. It seems like every romantic comedy movieis all the same now, but this was different in a good way. Their was aton of adult humor in this. It was mostly all humor and many jokesbetween the married couple. I think they picked the perfect actors toplay the parts. They worked so well together in this and were verycute. The messages were very good in this movie. A couple of themessages were about spending your life with who you are meant to bewith. Most of the scenes that they show in the trailer are all in themovie as well. Overall this was a very good comedy movie to start thesummer off with. Give this movie a chance you will probably like it.You will especially like it if you are a fan of very funny comedymovies.

It was fun

My wife and I enjoyed the movie alot. All I can say is, it's a movie people. It did what it was suppose to for the wife and I. It was entertaining and that is why we went. Both actors did a good job and it is worth seeing. Will it win an academy or golden globe, no, but it was fun and entertaining.

Pleasantly Surprised

I really was surprised after watching this movie about just how entertaining it was. To be honest I ws expecting something I was going to suffer through with a couple laughs. Sure there is not much to think about and it was a somewhat typical romantic flick but it was worth the time spent watching. Both Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz were funny and played wonderful roles. My biggest negative is that sometimes it got redundant when they were trying to screw up each other lives and it would have been nice to see them start to connect with each other for a longer period of time.If you want a good fun movie that doesn't require thinking and can give you some laugh out loud moments then this is an excellent choice.

Unexpected treat

I don't like Cameron Diaz and didn't want to watch this movietherefore. But it just happened so... And all of a sudden I got somevery unexpected treat! One of the biggest surprises is that this comedy is actually... funny!It's as funny as unfunny was The Break-Up (2006), another comedy on thesimilar theme.The highlight of the film is the nicely comedic duo of Kutcher andDiaz. They are believable in this movie. It's a huge compliment from me:-).What Happens In Vegas is not a masterpiece, of course, and all itsmerits become evident only in comparison with the bad comedies thatusually appear on screen for the last 10 years, but I don't begrudge"8" to this romantic comedy. At all.

A Nutshell Review: What Happens In Vegas

My only trip to the US (not counting the toddler days) where I canremember what the heck I was doing, was back in December 2005 (gee,time flies!) where I spent a total of 7 full days trawling the streetsas well as the casinos up and down the Strip and its outskirts, andseriously, it's never as sexy as that portrayed in the movies (or thattelevision series), though you'd truly never really run out of thingsto do, despite everything being overly expensive at tourist prices. Ithink I still possess a mental map of everything on the Strip!And of course, Vegas is famous amongst other things besides the Elvisimpersonators, live entertainment etc, is the ability to conduct quickymarriages, which is what Ashton Kutcher's Jack Fuller and CameronDiaz's Joy McNally get themselves into during a night of drunken stuporand cheap dares, two lonely souls who journey to Sin City as anescapism from their failed lives, where you can enjoy all the pleasuresthe city have to offer, before the drudge comes kicking in when youreceive that credit card bill.So begins the story when the duo find themselves in a situation toannul their marriage given a night of impulse that they cannotremember, but cannot do so when McNally's quarter was inserted into ajackpot machine by Fuller, and that brought them a cool 3 milliondollars jackpot. Which they can't agree how to split the money, and aquirky judge sentenced them to 6 months "hard marriage" to work throughtheir marital vows, before their frozen cash can be touched. As whatthe trailer had already explicitly spelt out, it's War of the Roses inMr and Mrs Smith styled couch-therapy sessions by Queen Latifah, withcomedy ranging from the slapstick, to the plain juvenile toilet tricks.Attempts to elevate the movie and give the characters more depth, comein the form of Jack Fuller learning to believe in himself and to shedhis playboy, non-committal ways, and with Joy McNally having to learnto let her hair down, lighten up, and basically doing something sheloves rather than to continue doing things that she dislikes, in true"live your dream" fashion. And throw in a quirky boss and ideal parentsinto the mix, you'd have a whole host of supporting cast to boostvariety in this rather predictable tale, where you can see the outcomeshining brightly like a star in a moonless night.I thought Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz could be playing themselves,i.e. one's dating an older woman, the other other no qualms in datingyounger men. Well, at least their characters had never felt the need toreveal their ages, but you can tell Diaz is a spring chicken no longersince her big screen debut in The Mask. He would alreadybe familiar to some as the crazy Homeland Security agent in Harold andKumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, and I'd stick my neck out to say thisis one guy to watch over the next few comedic movies, as he totally letit rip in this movie with his crazy antics.At best, What Happens in Vegas is ideal for those itching for yetanother formulaic romantic- comedy from the factories of Hollywood, orfor those who missed out on the hot tickets for Speed Racer. Staybehind after the end credits roll for a final coda. There are 2 at thebeginning of the end credits, but hold out right until the end beforeyou decide to make for the exit.

yes, it's cute; yes, it's cutsey, but what did you expect - an Academy award-worthy film?

"What Happens in Vegas" opens with the premise that reminds us of "The War of the Roses" and it ends sweetly with the feel-good mood of "When Harry Met Sally..." After getting drunk and spending a night together in Las Vegas, Jack (Ashton Kutcher) and Joy (Cameron Diaz) discover they are married. Next morning they start to hate each other quarrelling in a casino, but the couple must spend six months together as lawfully wedded husband and wife - required by the court order - before they are allowed to use the 3 million dollar jackpot they won.The film's story unfolds more like a farce in the earlier chapters with jokes and gags based on their incongruous combination of personalities, perfectionist and slacker. The jokes include Cameron Diaz's lecture on how to use the toilet. They are not quite original, but are funny.After the main characters stop acting like a child and begin to look at each other more seriously, "What Happens in Vegas" becomes really a romantic comedy. The screenplay has nothing new to add to the overcrowded genre, but the chemistry between Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher somehow draws you in.Still, even those who love this film will admit the script is pretty messy at times. It is slightly off-putting (even with the star power of Diaz and Kutcher) to see a man and a woman fighting over $ 3 million when all they have to do is just split the money and part. In the Vegas scenes the hero and the heroine are not only unlikable; they are unlikely. The film gets better as it goes on, but the contrived set-up clearly needs improvement.Some supports are good, others just forgettable. Rob Corddry steals scenes from the leads as Jack's bumbling friend giving him kindly (but often silly) advice. Queen Latifah also appears as a psychiatrist, but sadly her character has no function in the plot. She just sits and smiles and says nothing interesting. Other supports include Lake Bell, Dennis Farina, Treat Williams, Zach Galifianakis and Dennis Miller as one of the most impossible judges in movie history."What Happens in Vegas" is an average Hollywood romantic comedy with the absolutely unrealistic premise you must keep forgetting. Whether you like its silliness or not may depend on the mood you're in.

Watch to change your Mood

Highly recommended. Tom Vaughan did a great job, must watch if you arefeeling a bit sad because it will definitely change your mood. HotCameron Diaz a star with built in abilities to make a smile on yourface once again she make justice with her role. Ashton Kutcher isawesome in his role a chocolate hero with innocent personalty. Do notforget the role of Rob Corddry as a lawyer you will see his bestperformance in it. When talk about the story of the movie, it is verysimple and straight about a couple who were married when they areunconscious and then the chemistry between them start. I will give it8/10 because its a very light movie that makes your face smile and letyour worries away. Highly recommended to watch.

Great movie on a date night

As a 30-something mother of two, I was pleasantly surprised by howfunny this movie turned out to be. Ashton Kutcher is not one of myfavorite actors and the movie only had a five-star rating on thiswebsite. I opted to decide for myself, because the rating system is notalways accurate in my opinion. There were no boring spots in the filmand it was well-written, smart and not too long. Even my husband, whois not a big movie fan, thought it was entertaining. This is one of thebest romantic comedies I have seen in a very long time. If you arelooking for something makes you smile when you leave the theater, thisone is for you!!! In fact, I would see it again with a friend if I havethe chance. This would also be a fun movie for a girls night out!

Great for its category!

As romantic comedies go, this is one of the best I've seen.This movie is not being well received by the critics, but I think weall lose perspective when we're comparing this movie to the summerblockbusters. "Vegas" doesn't claim to be a great drama or packed withaction. It promises humor and romance, and delivers on its promise. Theleads have great chemistry and it's clear that they had a good timefilming (it doesn't hurt that the leads are gorgeous).The plot is easy to figure out, but fun to follow. There are also somegreat lines of dialogue- funny, and insightful.I strongly suggest this movie for anyone needing a relaxing two hoursor a good laugh. Guys would probably be a bit bored by the romance, yetentertained by the occasionally crude humor. The movie would probablybe best appreciated by a GNO (girls night out). Enjoy :-)

What happens in Vegas is brilliant from start to finish if u enjoyedhitch then this is a must see pure brilliant u don't have to think muchlike u do with a lot of other films if your having a bad day this filmis guaranteed to put a smile on your face and make you laugh and cheeryou up and there is Ashton Kutcher for the chicks too drool over andCameron Diaz for the guys to drool over :P so every 1s happy but reallyit is a brilliant film if you want to chill out not think much have alaugh hitch was one of best films ever for that in my opinion awesomeand what happens in Vegas is just as good hope you enjoy the film 10/10from me x).

Dumb movie, but makes a good point

I wasn't too impressed with the movie itself -- didn't like the actorsmuch, didn't laugh at many of the jokes, etc. -- but then again, I'mgenerally not a big fan of romantic comedies. But there was oneredeemable quality of this movie, which was its message, which it wasable to deliver without being too preachy.Too many people today seem to have forgotten what marriage is reallyall about. They think it's an arrangement that's supposed to beconvenient, like some living fairy tale where you meet the perfectperson and fall in love and then everything is perfect for the rest ofyour life. But the fact is, far more important than finding the rightperson for you, a successful marriage depends on the work you put intoit. This movie takes two people who hate each other, marries them, andthen forces them to work it out; basically the opposite of how peoplenormally do things today. I'm not going to say if they do work it out(that'd be a spoiler), but the important thing is that they have totry, which is something that too many married people today haveforgotten how to do.

It may be stupid, but it's still kinda funny...

Okay, so sue me; I laughed a lot while watching this movie. My wife said that the film was horribly stupid but I didn't care. Sure, it was predictable beyond belief but why would you expect anything but a predictable romantic comedy? I mean, yes, at times the humor was a little off color or just plain ridiculous, but in a world embracing the comedic genius that is Judd Apatow (don't get me wrong, this is no where near as good as an Apatow production) why would you get mad over that? `What Happens in Vegas' is exactly what you'd expect from a comedy starring Aston Kutcher. The film tells the story of control freak Joy and slacker Jack. Joy was just dumped by her fiancé and Jack was just fired by his own father. When all goes wrong the only viable option is to go crazy in Vegas, so that is what they decide to do. It is in Vegas where they meet and get drunk and get hitched only to wake up desperate to end their relationship; that is until Jack wins $3,000,000 with Joy's quarter and each wants the cash. What happens next is highly unlikely (very highly) but for the sake of the film we'll follow along. A judge sentences them to a half year of marriage before either of them can be awarded the money. Jack and Joy are thus forced to live together and `work on their marriage' in order to attain the cast they so desperately desire.The pot shots taken are over-the-top at times, but funny none-the-less. The situation is more preposterous than any of the jokes, and the actions taken by the two main characters, as immature as they are, are believable when you take into context the nature of the characters they are playing. I mean seriously, a lot of people are that stupid.Cameron Diaz is above this, I will say that. She is a wonderfully talented comedic actress who deserves better than the material she is provided here. Her performances in films like `Vanilla Sky' and `Being John Malkovich' and even `My Best Friends Wedding' all prove her talent and should have garnered an Oscar nomination by now. Instead she is reduced to starring alongside Aston Kutcher in a film tailor made for his persona as apposed to her talent. This is not above Kutcher, in fact it is a step up for him (look at what he's done up until now). Honestly, if you are looking at this film because you are a fan of Kutcher then you have nothing to complain about since this is undeniably one of his better films. If you are watching this because you are a fan of Diaz then you may have reason to be bitter since this may be the worst film she's ever done.Forget them for a minute though, because the real stars of this film are Rob Corddry and Lake Bell who play Hater and Tipper, the happy couples best friends. These two have such a brilliant love/hate chemistry that is seriously the funniest part of the film.In the end I can't say that this is a great movie or one that I would highly recommend, but if you are a fan of the genre or the films male lead then you already know what to expect and you most likely will enjoy this film to an extent. If you are not a fan of either then you should really be looking elsewhere. Regardless, look at it for what it is and you will find something enjoyable about the whole experience.
