The Prankster - if only it was funny and good?

The Prankster, a local Bay Area production seemed like a great idea andthe story I heard of from a friend seemed interesting so I watched it.Boy what a mistake that was. Being young I love high school movies,especially funny ones or twisted ones (Mean Girls Anyone?), but I haveto say, this movie was poorly done. I mean, god, the few BIG PRANKS thekids played weren't even funny. And NO WAY DOES ANY OF US TALK LIKETHIS!!! Ha ha ha ha! I was laughing my *ss off when the girls would say"that's whack!" I never heard of that term, was it even a term? And ifso, thank god it passed quickly. And parts of it seemed like they werefilmed by my camcorder! Anyways, I thought I would save all of you thetrouble and unfortunately, I would have to warn my friends to STAY AWAYFROM THIS Awful STUDENT FILM. I never saw it or heard of it in themovie theaters (and I go to almost every movie being a HUGE movie fan)so I am not even sure if this was a "REAL" movie. Probably someindependent film made by someone fresh out of film school using mommyand daddy's money. The acting is pretty atrocious too, with theexception of a few small bright spots. Sorry to write a bad review, Inever do, but I was REALLY disappointed after being referred to thismovie and then wasting 2 hours watching it. Sorry guys and girls, butmove along on this one and watch Mean Girls instead!

An absolute classic.

This movie is a hilarious classic film, with characters that will keep you laughing throughout the film. Buy it or watch it, you will not be disappointed.

Funny and appropriate movie for kids

I review this movie from the point of view of the demographic for whichit was intended. My nieces and Godchildren, all under 18, loved thismovie and laughed heartily. I was surprised to see the delightfuleffect it had on most all of the children who saw it.That being said, this movie is a winner if you have kids in your lifewho are in grade school or high school. The film has some importantmessages for impressionable minds, and it doesn't use profanity,anti-social behavior or nudity to make its points.I appreciate the heart this film shows and I recommend it on thatbasis.

Great Movie!

Laughs and Laughs!

I really couldn't stop laughing.This movie is one of my favorite new comedies. The film really nailsdown a funny side of high school life. With all of its pluses andminuses.Of course not everyone's high school years were this much fun. But itseems like everyone's high school experiences SHOULD have been thismuch fun. If one word can describe this film, it's "FUN."Amusing characters make up the cast. The stars are both funny andrealistic. The actor's lines were just so hilarious, I couldn't stoplaughing. The writing and the sarcasm were a scream.This move could hit the big time once people hear about it.

As you realize it's a movie with pranks.

On my opinion this is a good movie witch reveal best what happens whenthere are a few pranksters in an university. The pranksters is a groupof four students who plays pranks to their dean or to some of theircolleges. The storyline is very good because the movie follows the lifeof one of the pranksters which wants to go to the college and he haveto quit the pranksters group but the pranks is part of his life and hefeels natural doing this. As the title shows this movie is about somepranksters so you will aspect to a lot of pranks, I honest did like allof their pranks, it were made with taste and i laughed a lot all themovie. I hope you'll like it as much as i did.Enjoy it!

this movie should get an Oscar for sure

its full of fun and pranks.. if you like American pie, you'd adore thismovie. Not only is it realistic so teenagers can relate to some of thesituations ,its also hilarious ,so your guaranteed to laugh your headoff.I do every time I watch it.I would recommend this movie to anyperson that enjoyed Fast Times at Ridgemont High which was also a greatmovie. Not only did I love the storyline and plot but the actors fitthe characters so well, they made them all seem so realistic.Go seethis movie its awesome. This is an academy award winning film, just goin ready to laugh. I thought the writing had real wit, not to mentionthe hidden references and one liners that any film buff will appreciate

Artistic, Fun, Valuable Lessons

You gotta love a movie that has a target audience which I would mark at12-17 or so, YET it has enough of a message and some 'old' classicpranks to appeal to adults as well. I remember pulling a couple ofthese myself in middle and high school . I laughed, loved the campystyle AND there are sincere messages about being yourself and trustingyourself. Why this movie isn't competing with the Hollywood stupidityreleased for young adults is just typical. One big super star and itmight have easily entered into the fray. The acting was very believableand sincere. It isn't a movie that you have to worry your kids aregoing to see or purchase. Though the pranks are very funny and'creative'...there is enough of a message to also 'grow up' and makegood choices. Great first movie for the writer/director who seems tohave his values in the right place.
