Mankind has lost a 300-year war against a genetically enhanced race they created and tortured. Now the descendants of that race -- known as the ghen -- control the planet from advanced underground cities within Hollow Earth. As rising dictator Crecilius Pryme urges his people to annihilate the remaining human population who toil in his factories above ground, a shocking secret is about to be unearthed that will change the lives of the Pryme family forever.

Gorguruga (the nick of the first reviewer) where on Earth were you afew days ago!?? Should I have seen your review a couple of daysearlier, when I got my hands on this film, I would have run soooo fastin the opposite direction. If you read this, save yourself the pain of watching this hunk oftrash; you can do way better with your time.I won't even begin to reiterate all the things that are wrong with thismovie, they are so many that it would actually be easier to try andfind one or two good things in it.Anyway, above all, the ending blew me out of the water. In the worstway possible, that is. Basically, there is no ending. When you beginhoping that something interesting will actually start to happen andsave the movie from oblivion, in fact it smartly decides to end.The whole film builds up slowly towards a climax that never happens, because it ends prematurely, and you're left with a perplexed look onyour face, wondering what the hell was in your head when you decided towatch this.It looks like all the guys involved in production decided amongthemselves: "Let's pull a prank on the viewers and only make half of amovie. Then we'll have a good laugh looking at their faces as theywatch the credits in awe."Well, news flash gentlemen: The joke is on you. ;)
This movie had a premise with a lot of promise but unfortunately itjust doesn't deliver and it soon devolves into a dull, boring anduninspired production. Also entitled "Dark Metropolis", the movie screams of very lowproduction value, some awful scenes which should have been removed orre-filmed and perhaps some misguided casting.Eric Scott Woods main character seemed completely miscast at first, hejust didn't fit the part of a leader. Perhaps if they had more takes tochoose from they could have made some of those scenes work better butas it is he comes across initially as a very bad actor and throws themovie off it's rails. Later on though there are some scenes where hedoes a much better job, showing he had potential all along but, whetherit's due to a low budget and time restrictions preventing them fromre-shooting some scenes, his performance early on in the movie leaves alot to be desired. There's also some cheap voice sound effects which serve to emphasizethat a **SLIGHT SPOILER** Channeler is "possessed" or "inhabited" by annon-physical alien "spirit".**END SPOILER** It's the typical pitch dropeffect which has been so overused in movies that it's outrightredundant now and only serves to lower the tone even further. Some of the scripting is awful too while other parts are acceptable. It's inconsistent and just doesn't work for the most part. The one fight scene was unrealistic and appeared painfully staged. Itwas like a fight scene from an old 1950s run-of-the-mill cowboy movie, totally inauthentic and immediately laughable. In terms of CGI effects, aliens or anything like that - they arevirtually non-existent. There's only ONE static shot of the undergroundcity which is actually regurgitated more than once in the movie andthere's one (very poor) weapon firing effect. That's it! No moreeffects. All in all, this turned out to be worse than most sci-fi TV movies. Iwouldn't recommend it to anyone, even die-hard science fiction fans. Itfelt more like a school play with adult actors who nearly all did apretty poor job. A total waste of time and money. And what makes itworse is that they had the nerve to imply there was a sequel in thepipeline! An unforgivably bad movie. The only reason I gave it a 2 (andnot a 1) is because all the actors showed potential, they just didn'tfulfill that potential in this movie.
Stewart st John why don't you give it up - just last week i revieweddark metropolis and now this piece of crap pops up made a year earlieryou can't blame the actors except i wonder why bailey chase and ericscott woods would turn around and make another crappy movie with aneven crappier director both actors have been seen in numeroustelevision shows so they really aren't bad actors and Mr St John verywell might have hurt their careers with this souless boring piece ofgarbage the script should be used to wrap fish it couldn't stink anymore than this movie i am lost for words trying to find anything goodto say about it but i can't, all i can feel is anger for having my timewasted trying to be the ever optimist that i try to be but there isnothing optimistic about this film even though it is only 38 minuteslong don't waste your time Mr St John why don't you go back to makingpower rangers
