GOOD FAMILY FILM

THE CHAPERONEI have honestly enjoyed every one of the WWE films productions thus far and I am happy to say I enjoyed this one as well. This one was the first one to star Triple H and over all it was good. This is a great one for kids as it has that classic family film vibe to it. This like other WWE movies suffered from the stigma that is wrestling attached to it. That really isn't fair because it stands well on its own, especially as a family comedy. Not a classic like some others in the genre but it is still a good film.Ray Bradstone (Triple H) is fresh out of prison and is looking to reconnect with his daughter Sally (Ariel Winter). The only thing is his daughter wants nothing to do with him. She felt abandoned by him when he was sent away to prison after a failed robbery. Ray's former partners want him back in the gang as their get away driver. After a string of bad events he is lured back into that life. But at the last minute he bails on the plan and joins his daughter on their field trip. As luck would have it the robbers plant the bag of stolen money on the bus. Thus setting up a fun family ride as the robbers are on the chase, and Ray is trying to reconnect with his daughter.I enjoyed this movie more so than I thought I was going to, my brother and I thought it was funny and good family flick. Triple H may have a way to go as far as an actor but he does a pretty good job here. You can tell he had a good time while making this movie and had a good time with his co stars. Speaking of co stars Ariel Winter was good as his daughter in this film and her behind the scenes stuff was really good. Also she can really sing and provides for the soundtrack. Kevin Corrigan and his partner in the film are funny as is Yeardley Smith and the guy trying to get with her. But of course the kids are the real stars of this along side Triple H and they all do a fine job here.Written by first time screenwriter [it seems] S.J. Roth and directed by Stephen Herek [who has directed films you have seen] this actually tuned out to be a good flick. It is in that same vein of films like "Kindergarten Cop" and such. That seems to be the one every one compares this too, and it is in that same category. It has some good special features on it as well. Like a good commentary track with Triple H, Yeardley Smith, and Ariel Winter, full of some funny stories. There is also a lot of behind the scenes features and a music video from Ariel. Over all this was a good film from the WWE, while not the best it was still good. I would highly recommend this to any one looking for a good family film.

Not a bad movie at all!

I watched this movie only because of Triple h.Now after watching it, i can tell you that triple h is big asset forthis movie. Agreed the plot is really week but Triple h keeps the combosolemn and silly plot points rolling nicely along, and displays asurprisingly tender side that meshes smoothly with his more ferocioustendencies.This is the kinda movie you can enjoy watching with yourkids and that is all it is.Triple h does a good performance and never once throughout the movieyou would think he couldn't deliver. There is a decent mix ofeverything in this movie...few funny scenes like the bank robbery ,good sentiment and some action ! Not a bad entertainer at all. My Rating - 6 out of 10!If you think this movie is bad ... plz don't ever watch Stan Helsing !!

Enjoyable, but a bit of a "tweener"

Just finished watching this one. I must say, it's much more enjoyablethen I first thought. But then again, I wasn't expecting it to becompletely bad either. It's a nice movie to put away a small 2 hours time. Acting is stable,not impressive but it isn't bad either. I did however find myself to becontinuously annoyed by Ariel Winter and her character. She has this"Something smells awful"-kinda look on her face and in the tone of hervoice the entire movie. But then again, I'm not fond of small girls inbig roles overall, so I guess it's more of a personal thing. I like thewhole "modern spoiled children" thing that's going on. It gives amodern, almost recognizable vibe. And dare I say Paul Levesque is really capable of some acting? Ibelieve this is his first main character role in a movie, and he didwhat he had to. Be an impressive, intimidating man (being apro-wrestler comes in handy here) at first, and on the other side acaring father a second later. His acting is, in my opinion, better thenwhat I've seen from fellow WWE-ers Stone Cold, Kane (got to give himcredit for being a scary S.O.A.* without any monster suit and specialeffects though), John Cena and Dwayne Johnson (although I haven'twatched Fast Five yet). And there in lies the negative part of this movie. I think it deservesa better score then the 4.5 it's getting right now. But this is a WWEStudios production. Not necessarily a bad thing from my point of view,but it's almost as if people click in there score for this movie themoment that WWE logo pops up. "WWE Movie, can't be that good" and thatsit. And because of that, other people hesitate to watch. Latelyhowever, I'm noticing a rise in quality in their movies, be it a smallone. I think if they keep up the pace (small steps at the time) we oneday might witness something really nice coming from their corner(Sorry, just couldn't let that one pass). Last thing I want to mention is the "Tweener" part i revere at in thesummary. "The Chaperone" has the same little snag that the "Narnia"movies have. It's a bit to adult for children, but it's to childish foradults. For example, we get full contact fighting and guns and stuff,but no blood is spilled. And that applies to the storyline as well.They combined two very basic plots together, and it came out somewhatunstable, not fully delivering either plot at it's best. To sum it up; Enjoyable, a bit to long stretched movie that puts yourbrain in relaxation mode. Take in the last fact I mentioned, and youshould do just fine sitting this one out.

The Chaperone

Hi dudes, myself Amit From India. Here just like worldwide, so manypeople loves John Cena,Randy Orton but hardly anyone think themselvesas TRIPLE H OR BRET HART .When TRIPLE H took a break from WWE before 7-8 months i understand thathe has to recover himself from injuries as well as he was doingsomething different. Then i came to know that he was doing the movie.so i was eagerly waiting to see TRIPLE H in the movie and guys itsreally wonderful to see him again. We have to remember that he is not anatural born actor he is wrestler first and then he is doing acting sowe have to keep faith in him. What John Cena done in movie Marine or 12Rounds except action. But friends in THE Chaperone Paul sometimes makesu emotional, he done few action as well as comedy act too. Overall themovie is good and acting department is also good but i think the weakerpart of movie is story. Its so simple and nothing fresh! So as a WWEfan i would like to Suggest that good try but we want more!

Pretty Good!

this movie is probably my favorite movie of World WrestlingEntertainment studios. great actors, especially Ariel Winter for a 13years old girl. Paul wasn't so bad himself, i enjoyed the plot. enjoyedthe story. i think it deserves better rating than its getting becauseits really a great movie.8/10 cast were great, story was great. very funny too. so my thoughts is that you should watch it because a movie like thisdeserves views, and probably Paul will get bigger as he grows ..and now I'm typing this so i can finish of the 10 lines because i cantpost this unless there are ten lines... bye

I just wanted to see Triple H

Well, I am 38, almost the same age of Triple H. I have seen guys likethe Taker, Shawn Michaels, making their debut in WWE back in 1990-91when I was 17. WWF and now WWE never went out of me. I remember TripleH as a well bred Englishman (Hearst Hemsley) having his first'encounters' with Henry Goodwin. From Steve Austin becoming Stone Coldfrom The Ringmaster (as Ted DiBiase's henchman) to Triple H being takenout by Shemus, I was always there. Being a big Triple H fan, I waseagerly (well not exactly) looking forward to the movie. But the moviebeing a limited release, I had to wait till the DVD came out.I am surprised that no one has reviewed the movie. Well, there is notmuch to review. Basically Triple H is an ex-con trying to get thingsstraight with his family. Nothing new, of course. The usual syndromesand hiccups and all ends well.If you are looking for anything else beside Triple H, you would bedisappointed. Triple H, on the other hand is just being himself, whichmeans he does comedy very very well as WWE fans would know. there is noaction in the movie. I was really hoping Triple H would 'kick somebutts' but it seems as he was revitalizing himself from injuries (inhis real life) to get it along with Taker for WM 27, he thought why nottell dad-in-law to make a movie? He is of course funny. in a way, itdidn't seem like acting at all. As I said, he just played the Triple Hfrom DeGeneration X, just that without any crude humour. Children below10 may like it while i suspect anyone above 10 would not enjoy it ifs/he is not into WWE. I was expecting a few WWE Superstars to make acameo (like they did in The A Team), but... Overall, even if you are aTriple H fan, you would not miss anything if you don't watch the movie.Rest of the cast just sleep walked through their roles. I don't knowwhy Triple H choose to debut as a main actor in a kid's movie, I meanunlike Cens, he has lots of adult fans who would love to see him inaction in his brooding 'King of Kings' persona. but like I said, heprobably just wanted to pass some time, nothing serious. There isanother movie of his coming out (Inside Out), looks like an actionmovie although the given genre is Crime / drama Okay, okay, enough ofmy review, avoid the movie. Why I gave a 6 then, well I went to seetriple H and he was in the movie, thats why. BTW, WWE Studios hadbetter releases than 'The Chaperone'

Time for Summer..

This review is from: The Chaperone (DVD) The Chaperone with WWE star Triple H, needs to rush to summer recess. The story line was boring. It is the same as any other starting out in prison. The daughter/ father 'I don't want you' line. Triple H, though a star in the squared ring, has only 1 facial expression that he looks like he is comfortable with, anger. Like many of the other WWE stars, few have been able to truly meld into the large screen with any grace other than that of a gorilla. My suggestion is for Triple H to keep is energy to wrestling.

When Ray reluctantly decides to go along with Laureand their team on their latest crime scheme he instead decides to ditchthem at the scene of the crime and throws the keys of the vehicle he'ssupposed to be the getaway driver for. While his old crew isscrambling to getaway they accidentally ditch the bag of loot money onthe school bus as well. I was quite impressed

Though I'm no wrestling fan, I am very familiar with the media presenceof "Triple H" (Paul Levesque). Who says (former) wrestlers can't makethe big screen? The Rock, Mr. T (before he switched to pro boxing), TheHulkster, Andre the Giant, etc.Levesque is actually well-fitted in this role, and very convincing; forhis first actual big screen debut. He certainly can act; no doubt aboutthat. The on-screen chemistry he shares with costar, veteran actressAnnabeth Gish, is the most surprising. They play brilliantly off eachother. Gish is even more gorgeous today, especially in this film, thanduring her 80's 'Mystic Pizza' days where she portrayed mostlystraight-laced, virginal school girl roles. And with more than 30 filmsto her credit, including a few television appearances, she certainlyhas earned icon status.This film does NOT disappoint. I originally streamed it off Netflix,curious - seeing that "Triple H" was in the title. Again, veryimpressive. A must-see indeed.

Cute Movie

A pretty decent movie!!!

Well guys its my first review in IMDb. Thanks IMDb..Yes now coming back to this movie The Chaperone (2011), well its apretty decent movie from the beginning to end...However if you areexpecting some high class action/thriller then plz u can step away..butif you are looking for a good time pass movie with a cup of coffee/teain the Sunday afternoon with your kids then this is the movie u canrent. I am also impressed with HHH's acting. He should get more moviewith better character. The pace of the movie is the same from startingto end and yes u can expect what will happen in the end however its awell directed movie (u wont get bored). In my rating this movie touched3 out of 5 star. I know 3 is a bit high for some of you but yes some ofyou will agree.IMDb Rating : 5.5/10 Suitable for Age 12 and above.Please comment if you like my review. Thanks all. Actually quite decent...

First off, this type of film probably wouldn't have usually appealed tome but as a wrestling and Triple H fan in my younger days I thought I'dgive it a go. I wasn't expecting too much here but actually found this to be quitefunny and entertaining. You really can't take this movie too seriously,it's just a bit of fun. I thought Paul Levesque actually acted quite well and came out withsome funny lines. All in all a light hearted action film that will probably be enjoyedmainly by wrestling fans who actually know who Paul Levesque is. Ithink that's partly what made it more enjoyable for me to see Triple Hin a different way. Decent enough entertainment so give it a go.

Watchable..barely

::Contains a very minor spoiler towards the end:: Was hoping for afairly entertaining experience, but when I saw the WWE logo I knew itwas going to be a tough movie to watch/keep interested in. The leadrole, obviously a wrestler though I've never heard of him (I don'twatch wrestling). His acting and script is as interesting and deep aswhat any wrestler does on stage. With a better written movie he mightbe OK, but this movie is seriously lacking in a realistic script and isfull of clichés. Some of the actors/actresses do a fairly decent joband manage to make it bearable though there were several spots thatmade me just shake my head in disbelief. Take for example, the bankscene, the dialogue and events were so unbelievable I was tempted toturn the movie off. In the end, watch it if you have nothing else todo.

Pretty good movie

This was a pretty good movie. Lighthearted and definitely something for the family. Triple H does a good job here and so does the young actress who plays his daughter. All in all, a good film that is pretty funny and lighthearted. Check this one out.

Surprisingly Good

I went into this movie with low expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it was. Triple H is very likable, and the story - while predictable - isn't half bad. If you're a WWE fan or you are just looking for a pretty good family action film, you could do far worse than this film. I recommend renting it.

Chaperone actually delivers

Now I can probably guess what most of the people would think whenhearing about this film for the first time. We have a WWE producedfamily comedy/light drama with wrestler Triple H in the title role. Hedoesn't quite look like the guy for this kinda role but then again weshouldn't judge the book by its cover. In truth Triple H can actuallyact. I found myself believing his acting and liking his character. Igotta say I enjoyed this movie more than some of Steve Austins actionbloodbaths. If I was to give you some advice itd be go see this withoutprejudice. Leave expectations at the door and just go with the flow -the ride ain't half bad.6/10

This review is from: The Chaperone (DVD) I did not have a single problem in getting the merchandise ordered .. Amazon is the only logical place to order anything from asthey are "secure". If a problem arises with anything ordered through them, it will be dealt with in a timely manner. It's wonderful when companies use Amazon to sell their wares because they have to live up to Amazon's standards.I did not have any concerns .. the product arrived in grade A condition AND it arrived a little earlier than expected.

"The Game" Plays The Chaperone

Triple H makes his WWE Studios debut as he plays Ray Bradstone who used to be a wheel-man for a group of bank robbers led by a man named Larue (Kevin Corrigan) but was caught & served a prison sentence where he rehabilitated himself via advice from a radio show & knowledgeable books. He gets released with the goal to leave his past behind him, including refusing to be acknowledged by his past nickname of "Ray Ray", & set things right with his daughter Sally (Ariel Winter) & ex-wife Lynne (Annabeth Gish). After the difficulties of being an ex-con in the real world effected Ray as his family kept telling him that they've moved on while he couldn't find a job & lost everything he had in a fire, he agreed to do another job with his old crew but had a change of heart at the last minute & ditched the crew during the robbery and stowaway on his daughter's class trip to New Orleans. When the Larue & the robbers discover that Ray left them & the police chase them, one of the robbers drop the bag of money next to the school bus Ray is on by accident & it gets loaded on the bus that Ray just happens to be on making Larue think that Ray set them up to take the fall while he gets away with the money. So while Ray uses this trip to try to reconnect with his daughter, he has to deal with so many other issues such as the trip's supervisor Ms. Miller (Yeardley Smith), Larue on his tail, the police also looking for Ray assuming that he was was part of the robbery, and dealing with the kids on this trip from the "spoiled" Paris Hilton type to a "brainiac" to a prankster.This was WWE Studios second attempt at a family comedy after Knucklehead with the difference here being that this was more humorous with the dialog more than just physical comedy. One of the reviews for the movie stated that this movie is a modern day "Kindergarten Cop" which I have to agree with as it was a good overall family comedy that I enjoyed & would recommend for a viewing.

Time To Play The Game!

Continuing their attempt to take over the comedy genre following the"massive success" of last year's Knucklehead, WWE presents TheChaperone starring sixteen year WWE veteran Paul Levesque AKA - TripleH. Now for me the last WWE "superstar" I wanted to see hit the bigscreen would be The Game, the man who has dominated WWE television forover a decade and will continue to dominate it for years to come not tomention being next in line to run the company once Vince Mcmahonfinally kicks the bucket! But credit where credit is due and I have toadmit that Trips makes for a passable leading man in this movie andwould in no way be pinpointed as having no prior big screen actingexperience as he holds his own against a decent supporting cast thatincludes comedy veterans Kevin Corigan, Yeardley Smith and EnrcoColantoni. The Chaperone is not a fantastic movie but then WWE Pictureshave never released a fantastic movie so expectations will always below, hence I cannot slate The Chaperone too badly as it achieves whatit sets out to do as a fun inoffensive comedy that can be enjoyed bythe entire family, just not a great one of course!
