Vicious Dogs...

This movie is great and it's basically about vicious dogs attacking people, next to a cabin and a lake. The story is highly interesting and stunning. The acting is pure fun and the cast is superb. The direction is great, as were the visuals. Overall, this is recommended. =]

Sad, sad, sad...

Breed is a horrible thriller... quite possibly a mistake on WesCraven's part. Teaming with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck was a hugemistake... Those of us who own a dog are even less impressed by the"crazy dogs" posed in this movie. A near miss one might say... gofigure. The way the movie plays out is quite sad actually. Afterwatching all of the newer thrillers, it disappoints like a bad 80'sthriller. Lacking names in the male aspect of the movie Michelleprovides the same support she has in previous movies such as Decent andThe Fast and The Furious as the bad ass female who can handle herself.This time she shows more of a concern for her male counterpart. Logicalconclusions lead to finding the boat the originals left and followingthe nautical course out as they did flying in, which the big bro wouldhave known. All the other hoopla intermixed is an ineffective ploy tokeep the suspense going. But as with all others... only a few can makeit out alive.... Quite disappointing. I'm sorry Wes, you failed on thisone.

this is about wild dogs that attack and kill people and i have never seen it yet but just read about it and it sounds good!

"...well made film!"

I've seen a million films that try to be great some include Anaconda prt 1 it was a comedy or horror many directors try to be serious and thats the problem be yourself trusth me you will get a good film, while watching this film i was looking on familiar scenes but the truth is that this film is original and it has lots of imagination is not an oscar worth film but is a well enjoyable film for young adults its not scary but is not boring the wierd thing about this is that you will ejoy it an no matter what you hear your still going to like the movie, the dogs were perfects and let me tell you something the acting was horrible never seen something like that in my life it was a shame, but the story helped them in somany ways. Anyways the production did a good job on finding the place on where to shoot the scenes and everything.

Worth The Time

This movie was worth the time. There was action, intense sequences, killer dogs and terror throughout. The cast was entertaining and Wes Craven did a great job. I highly recommend it. =]

Why

It was either this or a rerun of ghostwhisperer. So me and my dad decided to settle with this peice of crap on television. My only question is why Hill Harper? Why? You're too good for these roles. So are you Michelle. :( Terrible movie--doesnt even make sense----the dogs dont want them there, yet they're trapping them on the island......bunch of crap

Wes Craven is toying around

Really kind of disappointed with Craven's work in the last several years, and this movie is just more proof of that feeling. With "The Breed" he does bring out some scary options for the typical characters he has. In this movie they are of course just a bunch of college students on some vacation getaway on an island that formerly housed some secret government test facility that experimented with dogs. It has the usual problem presented which has the youths trying to figure out a plan of escape as well as at times, a plan of attack. In the end I just felt like this movie was sub standard slash that did not have enough staying power to make me feel like it had any value to be viewed again. Craven needs to concentrate on getting more intricate scripts that are followed up by some better actors, but that costs more money so I am not expecting anything spectacular from him anytime soon.

what a joke. a bunch of dogs either got rabies or dont? dont know even at the end of the show. its a joke, dont waste your money, wait and get it online somewhere, its really not even worth bandwidth.

Don't you just hate it when, in a movie, something seemingly trivialoccurs or is introduced and you just know that it'll come into playlater on?I know I do, so when the characters in The Breed casually mention anold 'zip-ride' (or death slide, as we English call it), tinker with acar that hasn't been used in years, or break an old roundabout leavinga sharp wooden stake pointing upwards, I prayed that my cliché radarwas on the fritz. But sure enough, each device played a major partlater on in the film and I laughed at the film's predictability.It's a shame really, since there are several scenes which are more thancompetent, actually managing to scare and excite—which is all youreally want from a film about rabid, genetically enhanced dogsattacking a group of people stranded on a remote island! The fivefriends who come up against the vicious killer mutts are your standardassortment of attractive twenty-somethings of the type that seem topopulate most popcorn horror flicks these days: a couple of bickeringbrothers—one reckless (Oliver Hudson) and one responsible (EricLively); a 'pretty' blonde (Taryn Manning—not my cup of tea butappealing to some, I guess); a wise-cracking smart-ass (Hill Harper);and a feisty babe (Michelle Rodriguez, playing her usualtough-but-tasty type). Of course, there are no prizes for guessing whois going to become dog food.The most effective parts of The Breed are definitely the dog attacks,with the snarling, fanged beasts being suitably frightening andconvincingly nasty. Surprisingly, however, given the current trend forgraphic splatter, the film is rather 'dry', with only one or twomoments to make you wince (highlight of the film: a poorly aimedarrow!) or turn away, and the gore-hounds amongst us will most likelybe disappointed.Still, kudos to director Nicholas Mastandrea for opting to use realdogs rather than CGI. And whilst I'm at it, I'll also thank him forgetting Michelle Rodriguez into a bikini (although naked would've beenbetter!).

great dog thriller,different

a group of friends leaves to an island for vacation.they enjoythemselves at the beginning.but they starts to scare when devil dogswhich are engineered to kill and eat human flesh.this film was a greatthriller and make us to sit on edge of the seat.a must seemovie.Michelle Rodriguez and Oliver Hudson plays fantastic roles inthis movie and attracts the viewers.the dogs spectacular performanceand the lonely island plays a vital role.good thinking by the directorand should congratulate him for giving 95 minutes thriller.runningscared from the flesh eating devil dogs gives the positive strength tothe movie.don't miss it.

Save yourself time and don't watch this movie!

This movie seemed to have potential at first, but never really becamevery exciting. It is not really worth your time unless someone pays youto watch it. It is as predictable as it is lame. The ending is soirritating that it made me want to scream! Save yourself the troubleand avoid it at all costs.I will give it some credit in that it has a few good moments, but thesegood moments are overshadowed by the relatively lame plot anduninspired ending.The acting is okay; and not as bad as some people have said; butoverall the movie just isn't written that well and therefore it fallsshort. Not much of a story leads to not much of a movie.

Pedigree Bum (Semi Spoilers)

Sadly, I'm just watching the film on TV as I write this (well, its onthe ads) and I'm so disgusted with it that I have to write this warningto any other potential viewers who might get subjected to this tosh.Yes, the info I read says "genetically enhanced hounds" but there'snothing to them. They don't even look scary or intimidating. They'rejust cute! I remember the dog in 'The Thing' looking more scarier whenit was just staring than these lovable mutts.Basic plot is (without giving away of what little there is): five'teens' go to some island and then come across dogs that are smarterand faster than your average dog. And they want to KILL! And that's it(I was hoping those that got bit would turn into dogs but that wasnever going to happen)..There was no point at all to this film (so far and I can't see itgetting any better). Surely people are supposed to die? Not much hashappened in the way of this that we actually get to see and there's notmuch else going for this film other than Michelle Rodriguez lookingcute.A total waste of money making this film and pure (not dog's) bo**ocks

Needs more of everything

This was definitely a mediocre film. It was missing a lot of storyline and purpose. It was blah. The best acting came from Hill Harper who's comedic character gave a little lift. Michelle Rodriguez was a little disappointing. For a seasoned actress you'd think she'd remember that after being shot with an arrow through the leg you wouldn't be walking normal. I mean, she forgot her limp afte a while. Oh well. They can't all be winners.

this movie was awsome

the movie scared me a little and the poor dogs. i liked the movie though. the ending part was ok. thinking what would happened next if the dog killed the one brother or all three of them. I would think the brother would fall in to the water with the dog and the other two whold brim him up to the boat or there could be more dogs in there but i don't think so seeming that it looks like it can fit one dog in there.

i hope they come out with a second one.

i really enjoyed the movie and i liked how it ended. you don't know if the 3 people left live or die. i hope because of that ending they come out with a second movie so i can find out if the main character, his brother and his girlfriend live and so i can find out what else happens to them and the dogs. i am looking forward to keeping an eye out for the second one in case they make one. A film for tired brains

If you don't want to pay attention to the film while you are watchingand want to spend time you can watch this film. It doesn't offer a realhorror or thriller but as many said acting is good for such a movie.Anyway I did not expect too much from this film and I got what Iwanted. But there is only one thing I couldn't understand. Why John wasescaping from a swimming dog while he was trying to reach the plane ? Idog which is swimming is completely defenseless and can not attackpeople. But if we want fully logical concept this film was over at thebeginning. Don't need to argue too much it is an enjoyable film fortired brains after a hard working day.

I really hope killer dogs don't become a trend.

If you watch this movie, what your getting is a bunch of random scenes(for example a random guy appears and tells them the dogs don't wantthem there and then gets killed), an unexplained plot (killer dogswtf?) and characters you have absolutely no feelings about. (I reallyhope these guys die and the movie ends) To top it off, the only weaponsis a baseball bat that disappears after one scene and a bow and arrow.To make this movie even LESS different from any other movie in it'sgenre, the completely useless black guy dies first. You might be thinking 'maybe the ending makes up for it all?' You'rewrong, VERY wrong. A dog appears from downstairs in the boat and thescreen goes black, how it got down there is besides the point.. Iguess. All I can hope is that they NEVER EVER make a sequel.If you want to watch a movie that involves absolutely NO thinking andmakes you laugh at how stupid it is and maybe it's just MY personalsense of humour but the way the dogs appear EVERYWHERE, even in thetrees then check it out, it's the only reason I even gave it a 4/10.

You have to be kidding...

There is a scene in this movie where a grown man, who is lighting a lighter in the dark to see, finds a puppet hanging on the wall and starts literally screaming in pure terror like a girl. It is the single lamest and stupidest scene I've ever seen in a movie ever. And the woman with him thinks absolutely nothing of it. Was I the only one who saw this, or did the other reviewers here all get up for a snack during that part...

The Boredom

Why is it that some directors let us their name to promote bad movies,Do they get well payed or what? This movie here is an example of a badone promoted by Wes Craven. It starts of pretty well with a couplegetting lost at sea, seeing an island and getting ashore. The dumpblond of course go wandering around in the forest and gets attacked bysome dogs. The end of the girl. That really is the best part of thisbad movie. Then we see the arrival of friends, and of course they gotbeaten by the breed. First of all, there isn't anything spectacular inthis movie, no gore, almost no blood no suspense. What we get is a lotof blah blah and some showing off of the skills of Rodriguez. You cansee the killings coming from miles away. Why the dogs are on the islandis silly. When an arrow hits the leg of a girl there's no blood runningand in the next scene's she's just walking and running around. WellWes, if you still are promoting those kind of horrors then surely thiswill be your last appearance on the set, got it?

Breed not worthy

I cannot believe that I own this movie. It was really dumb. The story made no sense and you got no enlightenment on how this all occurred. The acting was also shady. It appeared to be a bad made for cable movie and I would not recommend that you watch this.
