Same exact story as the first in a new, but similar setting.

"Teen Wolf Too" can hardly even be called a sequel to the first. It ismore accurately a remake. It has almost the exact same plot as thefirst, except the sport here is boxing instead of basketball. Most ofthe supporting characters are back, many played by different actors.Scott Howard from the first film, couldn't and I'm sure didn't want tobe here, so instead we have his cousin Todd. Todd is going to collegeon a sports scholarship, even though he's poor at sports and reallysmart. The Dean, played by John "Gomez" Astin, for some stupid reasonhas a vendetta on Todd and is out to make sure he fails. Of course,Todd luckily figures out he's a werewolf on the first or second day ofcollege, and dumb humor and bad dialog ensues. The first thing Todddoes when he finally figures out that he's a full fledged werewolf, isbreak into perfectly choreographed dance singing "Do You Love Me?",which somehow makes him popular. Also his werewolf powers make him ajerk, so the girl he just met thinks he doesn't love her anymore. Healso starts a frog fight in science class where all the collegestudents begin throwing dead frogs...but luckily the teacher comes inand says she's disappointed, not caring that these adults just didthis. Obviously the writing was just ridiculous.Overall this was a somewhat enjoyable film...in a laughing at it'sawfulness way.My rating: 1/2 out of ****. 91 mins. PG for some violence.

Teen Wolf Remake

This sequel is REMARKABLE. It's note for note the exact same film asTeen Wolf, with boxing replacing basketball (and Jason Bateman as afourth string Michael J Fox)But more importantly, I'm one of the four people in this country whosaw this in the theaters. In fact, that night I was recovering fromsurgery on my left shoulder, and my friend's lab had just bitten myright hand. We went to Teen Wolf too thinking the day could not havegotten worse. Whoops.Instead of renting this, I recommend getting bitten by a dog. Or watchthe last scene of Teen Wolf 1. A guy has his pants unbuttoned and triesdesperately to cover up in the last shot. L Man

Bad, dog, bad!

This movie is awful! What were they thinking making a sequel to thismovie?Michael J. Fox - who made the first film watchable - is gone, with hisso-called "cousin" filling in for him. This is a complete recycling of theoriginal, even with the basketball filled in with boxing. I hated, hated, hated this movie - with a vengeance! Burn all copies!!!

Not TOO bad...

Hmm, after seeing "Teen Wolf Too" at the #36 on thebottom 100 films, I wasn't expecting much. But merelythe fact it rates so low was enough to make me check it out, plus that I liked the first movie. Like theother reviews, I can't really say it's a well-mademovie in sense of story, action, script; but I don'tfind the movie all that bad... it has some nice sequences, especially in the beginning, and I'm positivethat I've seen what's worse more than once before. For the 'cash-cow' sequel thing, I didn't think Blade 2was a much better movie. And that is getting a 3rd...4/10

starcollector73 2012-05-20 22:30:17

Why?????

I dont know whats more disturbing the fact that this movie was ever madeorthe fact that i've actually seen it....Teen Wolf was a cute, warm hearted and fun little movie that had somenicelittle moments and the added bonus of the always reliable Michael J Foxstarring in it. This cheap little sequel has absolutely no redeemingfeatures and in all fairness should never have been made.I think that the thing that bugs me most about this film is the fact thatsomeone somewhere thought that the great cinema going public would bethatsad and that stupid that we wouldn't see this for the 'lets milk this andrun' movie that it actually is. Firstly the only reason the first filmwassuch a success is that Mr. Fox was in it so you'd have thought that noFoxwould mean no sequel. But no, some bright spark thought 'Hey lets useanother character and why dont we make him Scotts cousin and lets makehimcompletely devoid of charm, and hey while were at it lets replace funnyStiles with a new unfunny and rather annoying Stiles.'....bah!!!!!Annoyingly Teen Wolf Too is included on the Teen Wolf DVD which is ashameas i'd rather have seen some special features, extras etc from the firstmovie instead of valuable space being taken up by this sorrysequel.I could go on and on about how poor this movie actually is but as it'salready ranking in the worst movies of all time list i guess everybodyalready knows.

A sequel that shouldn't have been made

Does Hollywood ever learn? You can't top a film like 'Teen Wolf.' Allyou can do is defile its existence by producing a sequel like this. Themovie isn't worth watching unless you're a Jason Bateman fanatic or amasochist. The plot from the first movie is reduxed here, and poorly. The messageis the same. The moral is the same. The only thing that's changed isthe faces, because the majority of the cast from the first movie waswise to avoid this bomb. The dad from 'Teen Wolf' makes an appearance, and that's all I can remember (without checking the listing). Aforgettable flop.

heykovac 2012-05-18 13:27:13

They shouldn't have made a sequel

Well, I love Teen Wolf, and I absolutely hate this movie. I hate the waythey got different actors for Coach Finstock and Stiles. The plot isnowherenear as interesting, the dialogue is not funny, and the musical numbersareterrible.I think that Jason Batemen could have had a decent career if not for thefailure of this lousy movie. I thought that it was much more interestinginthe first movie for a boy to find out that he was a werewolf when hethoughtwerewolves were a myth than in this film were a college guy finds outhe's awerewolf when he thought he wasn't like all the other freaks in thefamily. The other thing this film lacked was an endearing love story like thecharming affair between Boof and Scott.Save yourself some pain--watch Teen Wolf twice instead of watching TeenWolfToo.

ThanksForMutton 2012-05-18 05:42:16

Awful...but Jason is adorable!

This movie borders on unwatchable from it's duplication of the originalto the horrid acting (yes, even from Jason Bateman) to the clumsydirection. I really liked Teen Wolf but after watching this movie Irealized it was the charm of the star and the novelty of the conceptthat made that movie entertaining. If you are a Jason Bateman fan like I am though it is nice to see himin his early days when his talent was getting formed. Oh yeah, and heis gorgeous!!!Watch at your own risk. I repeat, watch at your own risk (what is itwith the 10 lines of text rule???)

steve layne 2012-05-13 14:36:35

I don't know why people hate this movie so much. I think it's in the three of the best college comedies of all time!

I have been watching Teen Wolf Too since1987 or 1988. It's a very entertaining, andsometimes funny movie. It's maybe in my topten of most watched movies ever! Don'tbelieve everything you hear about thismovie. I give this movie *** out of ****

elenoid 2012-05-13 06:58:41

Sucks

Teen Wolf 2 is a pale copy of teen wolf. The first movie is great thesecondone just boring, not funny, and it sucks. The characters are faked and the plot is just the same as it is in TeenWolf1.I fell asleep when I first saw it, and I'm not going to see againever.

Mister-6 2012-05-04 07:30:43

"Too" much of a bad thing....

Jason Bateman is no Michael J. Fox. Ouch. And "Teen Wolf Too" is not as good as "Teen Wolf". BIGouch. Not that the original had anything going for it except for Fox, but thissequel doesn't even try. Just a change of locale and a COUSIN in the samefamily (explaining Hampton's appearance here) who gets on the boxing team asthe wolf in question, forcing his grades to suffer, and blah and blah andblah....Give me a break. For a comedy as insubstantial as this one to expound onthe virtues of education is like Joey Buttafuoco talking about celibacy. I'm sorry, but "Teen Wolf Too" is just a bad excuse for a sequel to a moviethat wasn't that great to begin with. Forget about it.No stars and no excuses for "Teen Wolf Too": the movie that proves a movieabout a wolf can just as easily turn into a dog.

Just had my 500th viewing

This is the greatest movie about a werewolf who becomes the star of hiscollege boxing team. What Teen Wolf Too provides:- Chubby and Uncle Howard return for the sequel - The worst renditionof "Do you love me" ever recorded, then lip-synced by Teen Wolf Too ata party where he jumps 30 feet in the air, backwards, onto a balcony *One of the great movie mullets of all time - thank you Stuart Fratkin *Frog fight * John Rocker's acting debut * Will Smith's acting debut *Two-sport athlete Chubby goes undefeated as team's heavyweight boxerand is on the fencing team, giving us the most far-fetcheddual-sporting career for a college athlete * Teen Wolf Too catches afrisbee in his mouth, then signs autographs * Three consecutive montagescenes with no dialogue * Professor Tonya Brooks * The "I'd like tochange some classes" scene. Better than the last scene of Casablanca *Teen Wolf Too loses his virginity to "send me an angel" * Teen Wolf Toopunches someone so hard that he flies 15 feet in the air and out of theboxing ring, destroying the press tableIf I had to give it a rating on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a4,531,899,376.- Derwood Morris

what a blast!

If you like Teen Wolf, you'll like Teen Wolf Too practically almost thesame amount. It's a great movie, really. You just have to be able to make fun of it.It's one of those great bad movies.Jason Bateman's hair basically makes the movie worth your while, asdoes the shoddy special effects and semi-awful wolf costume.Particularly notable moments include the horrible sound editing duringthe first boxing match, and the moment in which Todd first transforms.Plus, there's a musical number! C'MON PEOPLE!I bought it because of Jason Bateman. But I loved it because of it'sheart, humor, and generically bland plot and stunning clichés.But I really did actually enjoy it.Seriously.I'm not even being sarcastic.I sort of wish they'd gotten rid of those suspenders Jason was so fondof though.

Teen Wolf one and Too

An exact copy...

I saw Teen wolf and i enjoyed it.. the first one that is.. it wassimple and fun.. original story.. then they decided (I guess) tocapitalize on the success of the first one and do a sequel.. which Ithink it's OK.. but o dear lord.. they did it exactly as the first downto the last detail.. if it wasn't for Jason Bateman, you could swearyou were watching the first one.. they could have added a few twists tothe story, just to make it different, I suppose the fear of failurewouldn't let them.. you should watch it just to compare.. that would bethe only funny thing about this movie. Everything! from the kid beingreluctant to accept his condition, the popularity of the wolf, Stylesand the wolf merchandising, they just switched it from high school tocollege and from basket to boxing, the rest was left as it was, butenough with the bad talk.. I have to admit that they did do a greatthing worthy of recognition: they put a lot of work and effort to makeit look exactly like the first one.. Job well done!

Yawn...

Teenager is dull... Teenager turns to wolf... Wolf teenager is not dull...Audience is at sleep... Say no more!

I don't even know where to begin.

I am going to start out by admitting that even though I think the originalTeen Wolf is a pretty stupid movie, I actually like it quite a bit. Idon'tknow what it is about it that I like, but for the last couple of monthsI'vefound myself watching my copy of Teen Wolf about once aweek.I decided to purchase (you gotta OWN these titles, that's the fun of it.)acopy of Teen Wolf Too on eBay for $4. The only other time I had seen thismovie was when I was in 4th grade, which was over a decade ago. I didn'tremember much about it, save a couple of moments involvingChubby.I just finished watching the movie for the first time in 11 years, and Icansay with complete certainty that this is one of the worst movies I've seenin a LONG time. In many ways, this is the *perfect* bad sequel... Thefirst film wasn't especially good or commercially successful, so it seemspointless to have even considered making another chapter in the Teen Wolfsaga. They also weren't able to get the big star of the first movie(Michael J. Fox) to come back, so they instead focused on his cousin, whosepersonality is almost exactly the same. Even further, they decided tobringback a few of the characters from the first movie, only two of which areplayed by the same actors. Stiles, who was corny but funny in Teen Wolf, has been replaced by an actor who isn't nearly as convincing or amusing.Coach Finstock, who was the only genuinely funny character in the firstfilm, is now played by a man whose line delivery made me laugh exactlyzerotimes throughout the course of the film. These discrepancies aside, the plot of this film is crap. It's basicallyexactly the same as the original, only even more sketchy. Anyone whohasn'tseen Teen Wolf will probably not be able to make sense of the plot, notthatany of them would actually watch this ridiculous film in itsentirety.I could probably write a fairly long essay on the problems with thismovie, but I'm limited to 1000 words here. I would comment more on the manyspecific elements that make this movie stupid, but I don't want to wastemore of anyone's time. And since I'm trying to keep you from wasting yourtime, then I will recommend that you do not watch this movie. Ever.Anyonewho says that this movie is not that bad is wrong.

magikistrocker 2012-04-24 08:59:54

why, God, why

The movie Teen Wolf was amazing. It ranks in my all time top 10 80sfilms. Michael J. Fox was brilliant as Scott Howard. It was somagnificent when he turned into the wolf and became a basketballplayer. However, the sequel was terrible. Jason Bateman was awful. The mostdisappointing part, however was the new Stiles. Like Jerry Levinedidn't have anything better to do in 1987.The only reason I ever watched this movie is because it is on thereverse side of Teen Wolf, and I once accidentally put the wrong sidein.Your time would be better spent watching Teen Wolf one in Spanish orFrench, than watching Teen Wolf Too.

Just When You Thought It Could Not Get Any Worse

Man this is a scary world we live in. It is amazing to me that a movie asawful as "Teen Wolf" could make enough money to warrant a sequel. It didthough and the result is a film that is even worse than the very poororiginal. This time Jason Bateman learns that he can become a werewolfwhenever he wants to once he starts attending college. He turns out to bethe cousin of Fox's character from the first film. Sophomoric andamazinglybad, send this wolf out to slaughter. Turkey (0 out of 5stars).

mutty_mcflea 2012-04-23 23:23:45

Woof!

The only surprise on offer here is that it took as long as two years tobash out a cash-in sequel that copies from the original as lazily asthis one. 'Teen Wolf' is an underrated corker and it causes me physicalpain to watch this leaden hack job rehash that film's entire plot – andI mean the ENTIRE plot – with a slavish desperation that stops justshort of editing in footage from its template movie. The original hascharm, engaging characters, an excellent soundtrack, Michael J. Fox,and it's very, very funny. This sequel has none of that, plus a lot ofother things it should have but doesn't. Jason Bateman is saddled withmake-up that makes him look like Cornelius from 'Planet of the Apes'after a nasty run-in with a belt sander, while the recasting of twomajor characters from the first film (Finstock and Stiles) is justrubbing salt in the wound. The only thing to be said in its favour isthat it's better than the appalling cartoon series. But so what?
