Great Movie With Great Actors

This movie was one of the best movies i've seen in a loong time. Selena's death was such a tragic one. The first time i saw this whole movie was in my Spanish class and I love Selena and her music now. Jennifer Lopez does a great job of portraying Selena. Her singing, dancing, looks and all...Lopez was obviously best for this role. The other people were also good in this movie. I recommend this for anyone who wants to learn more about Selena or who loves Latin music. Selena is where is at all started.

10 out of 10 movie

this was the greatest movie about the life of a singer or famous person ihave ever seen. Jennifer Lopez did perfect and so did the people thatplayedher family and friends throughout the movie, if you havent watched thismovie yet, u should! it's great!!!

Selena was a very good movie. I didn't know Selena or any thing abouther before i saw the movie. The movie was very interesting and ilearned a lot about her and her life. The way she got into music whileshe was young was amazing. She had a very good voice when she waslittle and she worked at it and it just got better and better. Her dadknew she had talent and he wanted her to show everybody that she wasgood. The way she meet her husband was crazy. He was a member in theirband and went on tour with them. Even when her dad didn't want themseeing each other they did and i think that what made them work out. inall i think the movie was good.

Extermely worthy movie...

The movie shown a lot of facts and and how the life of Selena was. I'm not a very emotional person but this movie changed evrthing. It was a emeorable bio movie the unique thing it's not about Britney Spears or Tom Cruise. I mean this movie was about somthing other than that.The acting was very good. I instanly fell in love with the movie. The plot was very crisp and clear just was a beautiful movie...

Very Well Done

I was impressed by Jennifer Lopez portrayal of Selena,and I must admit thisstory of her really had me moved. Secondly, not being a fan of the popularsinger always had me thinking of if this unfortunate fate had not fallenupon her,how far she would have gotten today in the Latin musicworld.

Luckily, the movie doesn't require that you love - or even like - Selena's music. The movie focuses enough on the characters and the story that even non-fans can enjoy it. I did.

I really loved this movie.I've seen it over 1,000 times.I am a big Selena fan!!!!!Jennifer Lopez did a GREAT job playing the role as Selena.

My favorite movie!!!

AAH! I love this movie. I first watched it in my high school Spanish class,where I sat through it without REALLY watching it. As a fan of mostlyclassic rock & punk, I never listened to TEJANO music, that was a joke. Butnow here I am, I have a selena key chain, shirt, the movie, books,CDs,everything. This movie is extraordinary. Even those who never heard ofselena, or at least not until she died, will love it. It's touching and mostof all, REALISTIC. You feel like you know these people, Selena isn't a "rockstar", she's down-to-earth and she works hard to get everything that shedoes. The movie is true to life and the actors (especially Jennifer Lopezand Abraham) did an exceptional job. Watch this movie! Watch this movie!Watch this movie!

Amazing

I love this movie it damn well deserves more than 6.1/10 stars! Youfans need to vote for this movie. I just love the acting, JenniferLopez shines like a true star in this film. Not trying to be mean butthis is Jennifer's best performance! The concert's are done andfinished and are very exciting to watch especially the famous Astrodomeconcert. The lip-syncing is perfect, great job Jennifer. The movie'strue tale and posture is perfectly done, it's a shame we don't hearmuch of Nava(film Director). More movies like this should be done.Selena has taught me to never give up on my dreams. I want to become amovie director and my big dream, with the Quintanilla's permission, isthat when I grow up and hopefully become a director, I want to redothis great story.I have some great ideas. I believe Selena deservesmore than one movie and a whole lot more promotion and DVD extras ifand when, hopefully, I redo this wonderful movie. I totally recommendthis movie to everyone! What are you waiting for? Go buy it!

good acting

the movie was very good, but i thought it was the acting that really makes this movie what it was. jennifer lopez did an excellnt job playing selena, i dont think anyone could have done a better job.

Great Movie!!!

This movie is great and any Selena fan should buy it because it showshow her family struggled to become successful, how she met her futurehusband (Chris Perez) and sadly her murder by her fan club president(Yolanda Saldivar) and their is also a tribute 2 the "Real" Selena atthe end of the movie and all audio used is from the "Real' Selena andthis movie really breaks your heart,U will laugh, cry and enjoy thismovie at the same time. I recommend that you purchase this moviebecause it not only shows us what we lost when Selena was gunned downbut it also shows how she opened doors for many latino artists of thisgeneration and it also shows why the late great SelenaQuintanilla-Perez was loved and liked by millions of her fans andeveryone that enjoyed her music! She will live on forever.....

As a young man born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas; I can relateall to well to Edward James Olmos' comments in the scene in the vanwhere he shouts "We have to be more American than Americans and moreMexican than the Mexicans!" It is all too true in today's society. Ijoined the Marine Corps and served my country in Iraq and Afgahnistan.Yet, still with the increase of illegal immigration in our country Iwould constantly receive sneers in certain places. On the other hand,even though me and my girlfriend speak perfect Spanish; we are alwaysteased when we go to Mexico for speaking our "CD ROM learned perfectCastillian".The movie sheds to light so many of the hardships their family faced intrying to make it to the top. The movie doesn't glamorize any of thesupporting characters. It shows their flaws and imperfections as we allpossess. The scenes showing Selena's budding courtship with Chris Perezare done tastefully and cute. All in all a good flick!

SELENA PARA SIEMPRE!

This is one of those movies, to me, at least, that will forever remain "critic proof". This film, coming as it did merely two years after the tragic demise of a true superstar-to-be (and now, in all irony...IS) took a lot of courage to write and produce. And who would play Selena? A then barely known Jennifer Lopez, who is so excellent in this role that there are times when you are watching this film that you actually think you are watching Selena perform. Yes, J-Lo is THAT good. And this film provides tender touches that all of us die hard fans will appreciate for years to come. Yes, there are flaws in this film. But, I ask you, who cares? If you love Selena, then you will love this movie. And that's all there is to it.

This is one of the best movies about an amazing person and her trip into fame and then her untimely, unnecessay, and sad death. A must watch movie for anuone who has a heart. Entertwined is also a beautiful love story.

I LOVED 'Selena'

'Selena' was definitly the movie of the my life. Jenifer Lopez did an outstanding job as Selena, and it was all so realistic! The music was wonderful, the acting was superb, and the thought that it was a true story brought tears to my eyes. And when Yolanda shoots her and it shows Chris Perez crying, I was breaking down in tears. It was definintly a worthwhile movie and i recomend it to anyone looking for a movie!

jlo does her thing in selina Joe Brown

she dances her butt off n this one and lip sinks great u no she can't really sing ok well she can sing a little bit she looks get as selina n this film again she isn't all dat pretty but she has a sexy look because of her great body being in dancing shape when i was little she had me think that she was da real selina of course i was around 9 or 10 at da time so that was da reason but her decent actin fooled me when i was younger because she did well of matching da real personality of da real decease "dead" selina and Edward James Olmos played selina's father role very well he was one of da top latino actors at da time and is still is today even though i haven't seen many of his film but da ones i have seen he usually does a great acting job da scene i enjoy was when da fake selina n da movie "jlo" went ski jumpin a couple of feet but she looked sacared but after think about it for a minute she went for it that looked it very funny when she jumped when she looked down it gave da movie viewers how high she was i say about a 200 or 300 ft high she was da endin of selina was 1 of da most depressing but beautiful endings 2 a movie that i have ever seen i almost cried because of what happen 2 selina she was shoted by her greedy husky manager who was stealin money from selina selina and her dad found out and when selina's manager knew they knew she had 2 talk selina out so she could keep her money but da only thin she kept was da memory of killin da world's most talent r and b singers of da 90s
