the movie was not very good at all. And there is about 45 minutes of the movie that is a total ripoff of a stephen king short story call "the little sisters of eloria" in which people are trapped in a hospital, their blood is taken, they are drugged, they all vanish one by one and the nurses are eating them..........hmm sounds familiar right. what a rip. The ending of this was super confusing too.
well i'm not quite actually sure about this one folks...... i thinkthat they had a really good idea behind the movie, i liked the carcrash scene, but the zombies , the way they looked well i've seen a lotbetter from other horror movies, the story well let's just say that itcould have been better, i think the ending sucked. the main characterwas way too squeamish for my tastes. there are worse movies out there, except this one left the viewer, me,,, with more questions thananswers, and i really don't care for a movie that does that. i did likethe boiler room scenes i thought they were very stylish, and in thespecial features on the DVD, they mention that it was the same boilerroom that was used in the original nightmare on elm st. so basicallyi've seen a lot better,, this movie basically deals with angels, demons, heaven , hell, and pergatory,, the part where something in herchildhood happened to her when she was 12, about her father wasbrilliant ,, but not how they did it in the end i thought.
A young woman has a fear of hospitals due some terrible thing she did when she was younger. She still has terrible nightmares about being in a hospital. Now she is faced with a relationship that is developing to the next stage when the two are in an auto accident. He is taken by an ambulance to a hospital. She is not allowed to ride with him and they do not tell her which hospital. She doesn't realize the omission until after she takes a cab to the closest hospital. She then meets the driver of the other vehicle. He tells a similar story. Together they try and find her partner and his sister. Their search of all of the hospitals turns up nothing.Meanwhile her boyfriend is in a strange hospital and the staff are the ones from her nightmares. He realizes things are not right and tries to learn more and get out of the hospital despite the warnings from others in his ward. He witnesses strange and terrifying things. But as he tries to get out his girlfriend is following unorthodox methods and learns about an old hospital that burned down before she was born. She is told she can find it if she really wants to. The two paths converge as she has to face her fears and their causes before she can locate her boyfriend and help him. The end is unexpected and help explains much of the strangeness in the earlier parts of the film. This is a film you have to stick with. At first I though it was very poorly written. Take the accident for instance. There are no police. There is no exchange of information. The participants just walk away and leave their vehicles behind. But this and many other strange things will make sense if you watch the whole movie. But you will have to put the bits together. There are no replays of scenes from different angles like in The Sixth Sense or Hide And Seek. But if you do stick with it you will discover what the film is really all about and it really works quite well. But it is not what you would really expect from the trailer. I personally think it winds up being better that they trailer lets on. Check it out.
Room 6 starts normally for Amy (Christine Taylor) & her fiancé Nick(Shane Brolly) just like any other day of the week until he proposes toher, on their way home that afternoon they are involved in a car crashwhere Nick injures his leg. Help soon arrives & Nick is taken away inan ambulance along with the sister of Lucas (Jerry O'Connell) who werealso involved in the accident, however neither Amy or Lucas are toldwhich Hospital their loved ones are taken too. Amy & Lucas both headfor the nearest Hospital but they know nothing of who they seek, infact they phone all the Hospital's in the local area & none of themseem to have admitted Nick or Lucas's sister. Where are they? Thepolice won't help them & they have to find them on their own, but wheredo they even start?Co-written & directed by Michael Hurst Room 6 seems to be one of thosefilms which divides opinion having looked at various other reviews &comment on it from around the internet & the IMDb, personally I'mfirmly in the camp that dislikes it. The script by Hurst & co-producerMark A. Altman takes itself very seriously & starts off promisinglyenough with an intriguing premise that grabs you, unfortunately it allfalls apart as it goes all weird with scenes that make no sense incontext with the rest of the film, the character's are poor, thedialogue not much better & then there's the terrible 'twist' endingwhich had me reaching for the 'off' button on my remote, as soon as thecredits started to roll it was pressed. To my eyes it never tied thingstogether properly or with any great satisfaction, it all left me ratherunmoved & the fact that it's pretty slow going doesn't help either. Ithink the length might have been a problem as well, to fill out a 90odd minute feature film the filmmakers obviously had to pad thesimplistic story out, it relies on it's 'twist' ending for it's impact& a lot of what goes before just seems pointless, I think overall Room6 would have been so much better if it was a tight little 30 odd minuteTales from the Crypt (1989 - 1996) episode, then again thinking aboutit Room 6 & the 90 minutes I spent last night watching it would havebeen much better if it had never been made...Director Hurst doesn't do anything special, it's got cheap TV filmwritten all over it. It's all rather flat, bland & forgettable. He goesfor psychological horror rather than in your face horror, unfortunatelythe story is weak, the 'twist' at the end is poor & as a whole I foundit all very unsatisfying & a bit of a waste of time. Forget about anyviolence or gore as there isn't any. With a supposed budget of about $1,000,000 Room 6 is an averageproduction at best, I'll probably have completely forgotten about it bythe end of tomorrow. The acting was poor, I never cared for anyone &again since the 'twist' ending relies on you doing so so much the filmsuffers.Room 6 is one of those films which seems to think having a clever'twist' ending is all that matters, unfortunately Room 6 doesn't have aclever twist ending. I pretty much hated it, definitely notrecommended.
A woman and her boyfriend get into a car accident. After the man istaken by ambulance to an unknown location, the woman (Christine Taylor)goes on a hunt to find him along with her new friend (Jerry O'Connell)-- along the way encountering demons for some reason.I am sad to report that Christine Taylor makes for a very weak leadinglady. I loved her in "Dodgeball" and "My Name is Earl", but for somereason she comes across as very flighty here (more in the first halfthan in the second). Is she not capable of drama? Is acting scared justnot something she can do? I don't know, but I was let down. (I'm stilljealous of Ben Stiller for having such a hot wife, though.) The earlyparts of the film are very tedious. There is lots of empty, repetitivedialogue (both in the opening hospital scene, and shortly after whenAmy is getting picked up from school). The less each person says, thebetter the scenes are in this movie. Unfortunately, in the first tenminutes no one will shut up long enough to let the movie have a solidstart. (The phrase "I'm awake" probably is said no less thantwenty-five times in the first five minutes.) What I found also odd wasthat although the makeup was decent (the demons looked like demons),the special effects were not very impressive. Rather than use a tricksyringe for an injection, for example, they slid the syringe under thesleeve of a patient. Maybe I'm picky and the average viewer wouldn'tnotice, but I felt cheated. Now, the scenery was nice. The abandoned hospital, the ambulances, thedemons. There is a scene with vampire lesbians (or something like that)which I thought was quite alright, although it was more of a tease thananything.Somebody decided to cast Jerry O'Connell, and I'd like to know whomthat was. In all fairness, Jerry was a better actor in this film thanChristine Taylor. But he just calls to mind crappy films like "TomCats" and the show "Sliders". I like Sliders, but this guy is a cheesyactor. He's right up there with Brendan Fraser. His very presence makesa movie's suck factor increase. This one was no exception.Horror icon Kane Hodder (better known as Jason Voorhees) shows up to bea demon bum. I enjoyed seeing Kane Hodder, but the part was notimportant and could have been played by pretty much anyone. (Andreally, if you're casting for a bum, get someone who's bum-looking, nota weightlifter.) I will give the Best Actress award in this film to thelittle girl named Melissa (played by Chloe Moretz). She actually had myfull attention when she was on the screen, like everything she said ordid was crucial. Excellent. Moretz is becoming what I would call "theDakota Fanning of horror", because she seems to be the person you callwhen you need a little girl. (Moretz has so far also appeared in"Wicked Little Things" and "Amityville Horror".) My biggest problemwith this movie, besides the poor acting and weak production value, wasI was constantly asking myself: did any of this add up? Demons, lesbianvampires, a hospital that doesn't exist, ambulances that steal lovedones. The film makes some attempt to explain this, but that attempt isincredibly weak and I was left trying to piece things together. But Ifelt like I opened a 500-piece puzzle and 700 pieces fell out. What theheck? 2006 has offered some quality horror films. "Slither", "Feast"and "Saw 3" just to name some off the top of my head. "Room 6" is notone of them, so unless you spend most of your free time watching reallycrappy movies (like I obviously do), don't pick this one up.
As the trailer shows, a woman and her boyfriend get into a car accidentafter which he is whisked away by unknown paramedics to an unknownhospital. From there the movie can be broken down in 2 major parts. Forthe first hour of the movie she struggles to find where he's being heldand some haunting memories of hers are alluded to. The rest of themovie is comprised of her having to face her dark past if she wants tosave her boyfriend from an uncertain fate. I say uncertain because theimmediate danger to him is never made clear. The whole movie lacks thesense of desperation and urgency that horror movies depend on. Itreally felt like everyone involved was merely going through the motionsin front of the camera. I never got attached to any of the characters. There is a twist at the end that should invoke an emotional responsefrom the viewer but I felt nothing. The direction and camera work islackluster, as is the make-up and special effects. The entire thing hasa made for TV feeling attached to it, which isn't surprising given thecast. There are plenty of moments where the viewer is supposed to jumpout of their seat but they are executed so poorly that I found myselflooking at the flaws in the make-up and totally detached from thestory. Believe me though, this isn't the worst movie ever made. I'dcall it a good idea in a mediocre movie. You won't hate yourself forwatching it, but there's plenty of better movies to watch first. Oh,and I love nudity as much as any other man but the one nude scene inthe movie is so out of place I actually wish it had been taken out.5/10 -- Mediocre
..between horror and deep emotions with a capital fault:What the hell they think they are in giving us a clear statement against euthanasia??? We are no longer in the middle age I thought.. Even for American standarts this should cause a big scandal!
A woman with a pathological fear of hospitals is forced to confront herfears when her boyfriend is held prisoner in an evil hospital staffedby devil worshipers, including vampiric lesbian nurses, that burneddown decades earlier. Sounds confusing, eh? Trust me, I simplified it.This film actually had a lot of potential. The budget was higher thanthe average straight-to-DVD flick and it showed on the screen. Decentsets. Decent performances from the actors. Adequate direction. And, inmy opinion, very good make-up. Unfortunately, their were two problems:The story was unnecessarily convoluted, and it simply wasn't scary. This film was a one-trick-pony when it came to scares. Here's thesimple recipe: A). Marcia Brady, ooops, I mean, Amy looks at someone.B). She looks away. C). She looks back and the person is now a demonwho mutters a warning. D). She screams. It took tiresome after a while. However, let's be honest, that's pretty much the whole shtick for theJ-horror trend too. (This is no less senseless than "The Grudge," whichI found reasonably compelling the first time I saw it, but I don'tthink it sustained repeated viewings.) Overall, I'd say this film hadthe feel of one of minor 70's devil films like "The Sentinel." It heldmy interest, but it could have been so much better.
I am a good fan of horror movie, but this is the worst i've ever seen... please don't waste your time on it...
This movie is decent. The story is good and fun. The acting isn't too bad, it's okay. The direction is decent. The visuals are fairly decent, but it should've been better. Overall, this is recommended. =]
so i had to right a review, i dont think any1 even wanted to waste their time writing a review for this movie. I just finished watchin this movie, and ill tell u right now, this movie is totally garbage. if you dont believe me, go ahead and watch it, and after u watch it, u gonna say to yourself, damn that bxc_don guy in the yahoo movies was right, i shouldnt have wasted 1hr and 30 mins of my life watching this BS. The acting was crap, the story was crap, i gave the visuals B because of the scary looking makeups they had on, and everything else is just trash.
Room 6 was okay. I expected it to be scary, not silly. The story is fair & it was thrilling. The acting has it's flaws, but it's worthy. The directing is mediocre & it could've been improved. The visual effects are cheesy, but fair.Overall: The film was cheesy & silly. It's worth watching once or twice.Overall rating: **
This review is from: Room 6 (DVD) There are so few good horror movies these days..this is a little gem in the dust. An interesting story with a twist...An accident that leads to a young womans boyfriend being brought by ambulance to a hospital that is not supposed to exsist. Scary without the gore. I work in a movie store and I recommend this movie quite often and those who have seen it agree that it is very good.I don't buy alot of movies but I had to have this one for my collection.
i'm not going to go on and say it is the best film ever made because itclearly is not, but i do feel this film has a lot to offer to theaudience. the acting in some places was not quite of Hollywoodstandards neither was the special effects but i feel all of this fit inperfectly with the story and had the impact on the audience that wasintended.Overall the story was quite unrealistic but this is what makes a goodfilm, the actors could have portrayed their respective characters alittle better but they did a good job overall. the film is not a mustsee but is one that is worth a look, it is enjoyable and is very goodfor a low budget film.
I almost feel guilty having enjoyed this movie. It was obviously low budget with some bad acting, but overall, I didn't feel it was a waste of time. It had a kind of interesting story and a few intense moments. I think the lesbian nurses was a bit much, but hey...It's a twist. A twisted twist, but a twist none the less. Even as I was watching the movie I was thinking, I should not be enjoying it but I was, and I knew that I would be having images of this film in my head when I went to bed. The ending kind of let me down on the bad bedtime images expectations, but all in all, I would watch it again and am not ashamed to recommend it as an entertaining diversion. Not great, but not bad.
It's a movie that cant decide what it wants to be, and in the end it one giant mess of a ghost(?)/demon(MAYBE)tale, centered around a girls fear of hospitals, not memorable at all
WELL I THINK THAT THE MOVIE WAS JUST OKAY IN MY OPINION. THERE WERE A FEW SCARY PART, BUT THE MOVIE REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A DIRECTION TO IT. MAYBE IF THERE IS A PART TWO , IT WILL BE BETTER.
This movie has a good plot but that's where it ends, this type of movie where one is in a different place....then....etc..(I am not going to spoil a spoiled movie) I do like the fact that they show what the little girl did was wrong. (euthanasia is wrong). other than that, the hospital is never explained, are they a cult ? vampires? both? not enough scares, there is a part where the nurses get naked and drink blood. (that's the highlight of the movie, except the blood)
Nough saidDon't waste your timeThe movie ,a part of it being without any acceptable story, was full ofsmall but ridiculous mistakes anyone would notice even if he had noidea about hospitalsfirst, the nurses were placing the 5 cm needle perpendicular to theskin which was impossible do be done with out hitting the bone orinjuring the deep arteries, the needle should be as horizontal aspossible the reach the vein second, the nurse after taking the needlefull of blood , she turns around , changes the angle and there it is,emptythird, any drug causing muscle paralysis should paralyze therespiratory muscles as well , causing death in less than 3 minutewithout artificial helpand lastly , what's with the abdominal incision? are they going todrink his gall bladder or something , ridiculous.even the nude scene with the nurses, so pathetic , they go "Oh , wehave nothing to show in our stupid movie , so let's show some tits"trust me, if you have high blood pressure , you do not want to see thismovie
Whole movie was just screaming and screaming (by the character) but she doesn't even look frightened. Totally not scary. Some characters such as the child's parents are not neccessary. The whole story is so predictable. Don't waste your money and time to watch it.
