Robot Chicken: Star Wars

Robot Chickens finest half hour is more savvy than Spaceballs, more inside than Family Guy Blue Harvest, and funnier, even, than The Star Wars Holiday Special. This Very Special Episode of Comedy Centrals stop-motion animated series parodies and goofs on all things Star Wars, from a disgruntled Empire janitor to an ad for Admiral Ackbar Cereal (Your tongues cant repel flavor of that magnitude). Twenty three minutes goes by like the jump to hyperspace with such priceless bits as the collect phone call to Emperor Palpatine from Darth Vadar to inform him of the Death Stars destruction, awkward morning-after pillow talk between Luke and Leia (That was so wrong), and George Bushs newfound Jedi powers. Co-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich and company immerse viewers in the Robot Chicken universe with generous bonus features, including storyboarded deleted scenes (with self-deprecating commentary), behind the scenes footage of animation meetings, and alternate audio takes. Good sport George Lucas, who gave his blessing to this episode, boldly goes where William Shatner went before by voicing himself in a Star Wars convention sketch that concludes with a Lucas-worshiping geek telling his son that meeting his idol was the best day of his life. What about his sons birth? Not even close, dad replies. But you dont have to have that kind of devotion to Star Wars to be amused by this weather forecast for Cloud City Cloudy, followed by clouds.

very funny for Robot Chicken fans

This review is from: Robot Chicken: Star Wars (DVD) DVD was funny, using RC characters to parody Star Wars.It reminds me of the Family Guy parody of Star Wars.

Robot Chicken Star Wars.... Awsome

My title pretty much sums up my opinion. Absolutly hilarious, poking fun at the decades-old movie(s), and the fan boys who live and die by the words of George Lucas. Senator Palpatine sketch is an instant classic and should be seen by anyone who claims to be a fan of either Robot Chicken or Star Wars.

GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT,DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY

was expecting this to be uncut and instead was disappointed by it as it is the same as the television broadcast, considering on sueing adult swim, seth green and company for false advertising of this product.so, if you want to hear everything being bleeped out or if your as mad as i am about this then don't waste your time and money on this product as it is the same on your tv as it is here.

It was funny.........well only half of it.

I was waiting for episode for almost a week already, and when I sat downto watch it I was excited. The first half of the show was funny, not asfunny as I thought it was going to be but it was funny.I don't know whybut with about 12min left or so it started running out of gas and italmost made me forget the first 18min of the show. The last 12min, Iprobably laughed once.So take it for what its worth but I actuallythought giving this episode 30min was a great idea guess I was wrong. The only good thing that was good about last night is that it was amarathon, they gave reruns that still make me laugh so I could forgetabout this disappointment but of course after 2 episodes passed theygave the Star Wars episode again.

Very Funny Star Wars Parodies! Highly Recommended

This review is from: Robot Chicken: Star Wars (DVD) The "Robot Chicken: Star Wars" DVD has some of the funniest bits I have ever seen. This DVD contains the full Robot Chicken special Star Wars episode and a lot of extras, making this a real bargain for the price Amazon is selling it.Robot chicken's regular episodes tend to be somewhat "hit and miss" with the short segments, but this collection of Star Wars bits are all amusing at least and some are laugh out loud funny. We actually ended up watching this 3 times in row and saw something we missed each time. The episode bit with Jar-Jar and Vader is just about the funniest Star Wars parody I have ever seen and the Seth Green extras are a great addition (seriously, well worth watching).Highly recommended for Star Wars fans with a sense of humor!CFH

May The Chicken Be With You

Does this really need a review? If you're on this page, you probably already bought it.For $10 the DVD is definately worth it! What it lacks in actual show time it makes up for with the extras. There are some great behind the scenes features that show just how much work they put into making the show and how incredibly crazy you'd have to be to do stop motion animation. There's a couple of storyboarded deleted scenes and let's just say, for the most part, there's a reason they were deleted.Another great thing is the Chicken Nuggets where you can watch the show and at some parts click on the icon that comes up to see a video commentary on what you're watching.

Worth your time

I stumbled about this little piece of Star Wars parody on the internetand just couldn't stop laughing through most of it. Imagine some of themost classic SW scenes recreated with some kind of puppets, add anunexpected and funny twist to them scenes and you've got Robot Chicken:Star Wars.Sadly the episode kinda loses steam at the end and you sit through thelast minutes without even being able to smile about the jokes. Nevermind that. If you are a Star Wars fan and have at least as much senseof humor as a bantam, you'll be very entertained. All in all a 8/10. If there is ever a directors cut and they get rid ofthe ice ***** scene, I might go even higher.

It's just plain funny....

Not a lot to say here. I LOVE the original three Star Wars movies and have seen them dozens of times. But after so many times you get more light hearted and thus a little irreverent about the beloved saga and start thinking (at least I do) some of the bizarre thoughts that come through in the brilliant writing of Robot Chicken Star Wars. They did well at writing a funny script without getting sick with it.

Here's the formula

Take any random generation X/Y childhood memory, and juxtapose it with any random "dark" scenario that would only offend somebody who doesn't have an internet connection. Oh, and make it stop motion dolls so people don't realize how unfunny it is. Try watching it without sound, the jokes are exactly the same. Hurr! He fell over! Whohoho! They're makin' WAcKyy PoSeS!!11It's like an amateur webcomic, only on TV. Yayyyy

supre funny

This review is from: Robot Chicken: Star Wars (DVD) incredibly funny for all true fans of the Star Wars franchise. Lots of little references to obscure characters and scenes, very creative takes on the movies

Genious.

One of the greatest things I've ever witnessed in my whole life. But seriously, perfect comedic timing from people who clearly KNOW Star Wars. Loved it. DVD has lots of behind the scenes/extra bits/goofing around which is all strange but entertaining.Brilliant.

Better then the series

Not by a lot though. Anyway, I saw this had come out on DVD Last Nightso I decided to pick it up. I was kinda disappointed though by thelength of the special (23 Min) but, being a huge fan of Robot Chickenand of Star Wars, I decided to give it a try...and boy was it good. Itwas a great blend of wit with their humor and the sheer amount of StarWars references made it so easy to watch. Most of the jokes that werein there were hilarious and really added something to the special (Thejokes that were not funny were just not funny not puke inducing likeMeet The Spartans or anything like that).I really enjoyed this as a long time fan of Star Wars (I cant helpbeing born only in 1996 so I have been watching SW for only 6 years nowbut that is long to me). This is the best Robot Chicken thing they haveever made and I hope that the second one is just as good.Overall, fans of Star Wars will LOVE this special, and so will fans ofRobot Chicken. I rate this special 88%.

Robot Chicken Star Wars

I enjoyed this movie, but it is a little expensive for what you get. If you could find it for around $5.00 that would be a more fitting price.

Hilarious, Best Star Wars Parody Around!

This review is from: Robot Chicken: Star Wars (DVD) Robot Chicken always takes the cake with their parodies, but they really outdid themselves with Star Wars this time! I just loves all the bits and pieces of the Star War World that we got to glimpse into, broken and jagged and hilraious! Seth Green is a genious and this dvd will have you cracking up! The deleted scenes aren't much, just scetches really with some sound effects, but I would have liked to see the lego bit come to life. What did make it to screen was well worth the effort though, as is all of Robot Chicken. I just think its all little bits of masterpieces brought together with the leftover toys of our 80's playrooms and the mind's of genius who admire the more serious sort and make excellent parodies based on such. Star Wars fans will not be let down here! Way better than the Family Guy parody of Star Wars (any of them). This is really just for anyone who like parodies or Robot Chicken, or comedy. A must!

Hysterical send-up of the beloved classic!

This review is from: Robot Chicken: Star Wars (DVD) I've been a Robot Chicken fan since season 1, and anyone who doesn't like Star Wars is a filthy commie. So when I heard these two pop culture phenomenons were teaming up, I was ecstatic. And the episode didn't fail to deliver. Sure, like most episodes of Robot Chicken, there were some misses, but they hit on the mark more times than not. Especially funny were the classic "What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon" episode, the "Yo Momma Fight" sketch, and the real reason why walrus guy got his arm cut off in episode IV. This is definitely a DVD all Star Wars or Robot Chicken fans (or both) can appreciate and love.

Star Wars Robot Chicken, while irreverent in places, is absolutely hilarious.

This is simply hilarious. If you have even a passing familiarity with Star Wars, and with pop culture, then you will almost certainly find this a load of laughs. Check out the smaller clips on YouTube to test the waters, if you want to be sure. This collection is only about 23 minutes long, and there are a number of clip out on the web that are not included here, but this is worth every penny.I should mention that it is from Cartoon Network's ADULT Swim. It's not flagrantly R-rated, or anything, but there are a few moments that you might not want your children to see. Nothing bad, but certainly PG-13 in places. For example, there's one scene when Boba Fett is flirting with/coming on to Han Solo, when he's frozen in carbonite. There are also a number of times when various characters use "swear" words that get bleeped out. You hear only a tiny part of the word before it bleeps out, but you know what they're saying. Again, maybe not a big deal for some people, but you might be uncomfortable watching with your kids. Definitely review it first if you are at all sensitive to that kind of content. But unquestionably one of the best things that Cartoon Network has ever produced. Seth Green created it, and he is absolutely brilliant.

I loved this DVD, although the feature presentation was super short...I was hoping for a little more length.
