Good western

It was a good western to the end. Lots of nudity and more violence theni expected as well. It has the look and feel of the ol "Spaghetti"Westerns shot in Spain in the 1960's. Same ol revenge plot that alwaysworked in those films works here but it has a cool and original enoughending to make it stand out. I don't think it had a huge budget but thelocations are very kool as well. The priest character is very cool andwell preformed. By far the most interesting I think. No big stars butsolid performers and cool camera work/editing/exct.. Good gun battlesand other cool effects. I don't know who many theater houses will showit but it was worth checking out if you love westerns.

American flag with 50 stars on it

My husband and I just watched Redemption last night. I saw a big"goof". Did anyone else notice the two shots with the American flag? Ithas 50 stars on it! Last I knew from my history classes, back in thelate 1800's, the United States did not have 50 states, yet! Most of theprops, that I noticed, did seem like they were dated correctly. I hateto watch movies where the props are not dated right. Some of thelanguage was modern day. My husband really liked the realism of thismovie, and he is somewhat of a western movie buff. He enjoyed the factthat they wore their guns where they were supposed to. At least whenthe guy got hurt, he stayed hurt and limped around, not like thoseaction movies where they heal and don't feel any pain. I wish life waslike that! I loved Capt. Till's hair! Great perm! It wasn't all thatbad, I've seen worse. All in all, it was worth the $1.00 at Red Box. Iwould not pay $5.00 for it on Direct TV!

Amazon needs a zero stars option

This may well be the worst movie of the 21st century so far. It was filmed bad, bad acting, bad costumes, worn out plot, and not even interesting. I'd like to know who the people are that put money into a project like this. I knew I was going to have to stop watching the DVD ten minutes into the show. I told myself give it 45 minutes. Well, at the half hour mark I could not take the abuse anymore. Pushed eject.

Good story - Bad Production

I generally like Indie movies, and I kinda liked this one, but...First off, the video/production quality is awful. I guess I have a new appreciation for "post production" now. This thing at times looks little better than a YouTube download.On top of that, the "Hired gun of the Lord" angle is just plain moronic. Suggestion to producer: Next time, talk to a few real Christian's before attempting to portray one.The rest of the acting is equally afwul.Aside from that, the story is actually quite good. The lead actor is pretty good too. But everyone and everything else in the movie is just plain stupid.This one would have benefited greatly from some religious research, and some better directing.Again, the story is interesting, and intriguing, but the acting and the lack of decent post production just killed it.Would like to see some more from the lead actor/protagonist, though.

There shoul be another grade "Z"!

This movie doesn't deserve to be graded. Come on people stop copying the good old "For a few good dollars" and make something new. Also if I get out and collect like 12 people off the street by random choice, they would act much better than the actors in this movie.

I AGREE with Patrick Toche's review

The movie was definitely LAME. The sound track was so poor that I triedto access the Main Menu in an attempt to "add subtitles." Sorry! Nosubtitles. I should have hit the stop button and watched an old episodeof Gunsmoke.The storyline had to be written as they were filming. I should havefollowed my instincts when I didn't understand what was happening inthe first five minutes BEFORE the title of the movie came on thescreen. But, you know when a movie starts out bad; but has aninteresting concept, you want to give it a chance? Big mistake! Ifyou're interested in "head shots," nudity and the F-bomb (5-6 times)then this is your movie. If you like a good storyline andentertainment, then you'd better look for another movie.

I've seen some pretty bad westerns, but......

This may actually be the worst one I've ever seen, and among the worstmovies I've seen in general.Where do I even begin? The acting was horrible (can you sayoveracting?), the plot was weak and the dialog sucked. And don't evenget me started on the accents. I felt like I was watching a firstsemester community college acting class. For those who actually thoughtthis was a really good Western, I can only assume that you don't rent alot of good ones. The only good thing I could find about this movie was the fact that itwas so terrible, it was actually funny, although I'm sure that's notwhat the director was going for.

Bad bad bad bad bad

To say this movie sucks is to be unfair to those films that actually rise to the level of "sucks". This one falls far short of that low goal. Like the previous reviewer (and I SORELY wish I'd read these reviews prior to purchase) I made it through about a half hour before deciding I wasn't going to waste any more of my life on this dreck. If someone told me that a kid who was pulling down a 'D' in his high school film class had made a movie starring any of his neighbors he could con into participating I would have expected more.The absolutely crazy things, the DVD cover describes the movie as "Unforgiven meets High Noon". The PR hack that came up with THAT comparison should henceforth remain unforgiven...right up to his being beaten about the head and shoulders at high noon. Someday soon, we hope.Amazon does indeed need a zero star rating, and this is the movie that demonstrates the need.

So bad its just... bad

I would give this one star, but, I dunno, I feel sorry for the peoplewho made it.I don't know what happened, I think somebody wanted this hot Mexicanchick and killed some people. In the meantime, there was a lot ofcanned dialog. Then the guy who wanted the chick was tortured. It wasgross, but so unrealistic I wasn't bothered by it.This is what a movie made in Iraq would be like, I think they just gotpeople off the street who looked hungry and told them if they acted inthis movie they would feed them a big mac.Not only is it bad content, the quality of the image is similar to aVHS home video. All in all, just don't waste the gas driving somewhere then taking thisback with you.

killer on a rampage in search of a stolen Mexican girl

This movie must fall in the "so bad it's good category." It's a poormovie in every way: poor script, poor direction, poor photography, andgenerally poor acting -- though to be fair the main actor is doing hisbest.This good-looking guy shows up in this God-forsaken place in search ofa Mexican girl, to take her back presumably to somewhere she'd ratherbe. She is currently a prostitute. On his way to the girl, a few guysare killed, spoof-like. Will the girl be saved? Will the guy outsmartenemies? If you really want to find out, there are two ways: eitherwatch the movie or read on...SPOILERS BELOW: On his way to the Mexican girl, much loss of life. Oneguy's buried alive, and later shot, in an after-thought sort of way.When the guy finally finds the Mexican girl, she turns out to be thiscute, helpless teenager. He falls in love with her in a matter ofseconds, and naturally proceeds to bed her. There is an age difference.Plus she looks great and clean, while he's very rough-edged and hasn'thad a bath. Not for the faint-hearted.Later on the guy admits to the Mexican girl that he's the one whokilled her family. She's obviously turned off (who wouldn't, especiallyafter a night of sex), but somehow inexplicably later changes her mindand is to be seen by his side as he lay dying.I couldn't work out whether the guy had a foot (or two) hacked off by apsychopathic doctor. I couldn't be bothered to rewind and play it inslow motion. I'd rather live in this limbo where the possibility isthere and the certainty isn't.On the whole, a movie to be watched high or not at all.

There was no redemption for this movie.

I accidentally rented this movie in the redbox tonight. What a mistake.I will definitely be more careful next time. This movie sucked so badthat you could actually hear the air leaving the room. I've seen bettermovies made by the av club of a local high school. The only redemptionthis movie got was in the period clothing. Characters were shallow,plot was non-existent, and acting...... Was there any? After watchingthis morning, I felt like I'd been gut shot.Too bad the Apostlecouldn't have put me out of my misery like he did the star. I wish Icould meet the person that put their money up to make this crapfest. Ifthey bought into this movie, maybe they'll buy the beach front propertyI have in Kansas.
