this film not have a good story to see i confuse what really say this movie i think this film not good at all.good actor SLATER have a good acting but this movie not a good thriller to see.
Kristoffer Tabori's "Pursued", suffers from the screen play written byMaggie April. Mr. Tabori, an excellent actor, who has turned hisattention to directing, seems to be out of his element with this movie.Thrillers that are based on revolutionary technology don't seem totranslate well to the screen, as it's the case with "Pursued".In fact, Mr. Tabori gets an over the top performance from ChristianSlater, as the evil Vincent Palmer, who like all villains, seems to bemiles ahead of everyone else in the story. On the other hand, GilBellows, who is the victim of Palmer, seems to be completely impotentto do anything, or even go to the police with the troubles he isfacing. The problem seems to be exacerbated by Mr. Bellows' take on thecharacter, as he makes him even weaker. The result is an uneven film, that showed possibilities, but in theend, doesn't fulfill them. For a film that deals in cutting edgetechnology, one would think that Ben Keats, the genius behind the newprogram that will revolutionize cyberspace tracking, would have beenaware of the spies out there, especially the scumbag that is making hislife impossible, and invested in the best anti-spy software money couldbuy. The only point the film makes is how prevalent industrial spyingis in the hands of people like the repulsive Vincent Palmer.
In a word, Pursued is terrible. It pushes itself as a high-grade techno-thriller, but falls so farshort of the mark on all fronts it should be an embarrassment to thesolid cast that participated in it. The acting is poor, but more likely than not the result of the factthat the characters in this movie are one dimensional. Gil Bellows plays Ben Keats, a technology genius on the verge ofmarketing a state of the art tracking system. Christian Slater plays an "all or nothing" recruiter trying to get Bento switch jobs. I'd go into detail about what was wrong with this movie, but I can'tbring myself to waste another minute on it. The only Pursued had going for it was the concept of the trackingsystem Ben had developed. That might have been kinda cool. Unfortunately they wrapped it in a really shallow and predictablestalker story with no rhyme or reason. The depiction of the technology is mid 80s and terrible. The onlytechno-component with any credibility is a couple of cameos by Google. The character Ben Keats is pathetic and one dimensional. ChristianSlater's recruiter is not believable, and his sole purpose in lifeappears to be destroying the lives of the people he's recruiting. Nottotally beyond reality, but his portrayal pushes it over the edge. 1/10 - do not waste two hours of your life on this.
The movie has its interesting points, but the writers left a lot of badgaps in the plot. Ben Keats is a character who is too laid back, has nospine, and is apparently not very intelligent. It becomes quite anunbelievable story given that he is supposed to be one of the bestmanagement people in the United States. The pace of the movie is quite slow, the twists are not unexpected, andbasically its a movie about someone who is a complete pushover playingopposite a great Christian Slater role. He's comparable to his role inVery Bad Things, only the supporting cast is not even comparable. This movie really has no redeeming qualities, and I somewhat wish Icould just have the two hours of my life back that I lost. It's notBellows' fault, the character is just terribly written.
Christian Slater and Gil Bellows are terrific in this fast paced thriller. I enjoyed every minute right to the action packed finale. Christian Slater gives a performance as good as any he's had and shows he can still deliver. I recommend to all.
You know this started really good, Christian Slater gives a pretty good performance but by the end I am left feeling like I am watching a made for TV Movie.. Regular fight suspense at the end could have went a little more the Firm. They used technology in it which could have went a little more Enemy of the State. They used a throw away performance as the guy that helps the pursued just to get him killed and extend the time of the film, mabe they should have spent more time developing the ending story caused I really like the theme..
TRANSLATION:HOT GARBAGE.........I DON'T KNOW WHAT GOOD YOU COULD TAKE FROM THIS MOVIE.....IT REALLY SUCKED! IT SWALLOWED! NOT ONCE DID THIS FOOL CALL THE COPS, CHECK HIS WIFE FOR LETTING SOME RANDOM DUDE AROUND HIS DAUGHTER AND IN HIS HOUSE. MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN HAD A BRAIN TUMOR BUT WAS RUNNING AROUND LIKE HE WAS IN ARMAGEDDON?(NO WEIGHT LOSS AT ALL) WHAT THE %$%@? CHRISTIAN SLATER MUST HAVE HAD BILLS TO PAY.....HE'D HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF DOING SOFT PORN,THIS MOVIE SUCKED! I CANNOT BELIEVE I WASTED AN HOUR AND A HALF ON THIS BULLSHRIMP! AT THIS POINT THERE ARE ONLY 2 REVIEWS B/C I THINK WE WERE THE ONLY TO LOSERS TO WATCH THIS $#!+!
Recap: Ben Keats is the director of small but upcoming company Viztrax(or something like it) that is about to hit it big. His success has notgone unnoticed and soon he gets a call from the executive head hunterVincent Palmer. Palmer is brutally (literally) ruthless and won't takeno for an answer. Palmer's methods are obsessive. Keats first thinks hecan just turn him away but Palmer then begins to stalk him and hisfamily. And Keats start to think that Palmer's methods are not soinnocent. At the same time he got to handle his family that is startingto crack under the pressure.Comments: A thriller that quickly ran out of promise and got tiresome. The character Palmer is meant to be very obsessive and oppressive, yes,but this felt like over the top. I generally like Slater but this timehe mishandled his role, or got the wrong directions from the director. And really, the set up doesn't hold. A homicidal head hunter? Really? But the worst fault was a classic one. One that many second ratethrillers have fallen into before, but this one seemed a need toexplore once more. The one were the supposed victim thinks he can do itall himself so much that he is over and far beyond the line ofstupidity. He don't communicate with his wife. Not at all. Some of thatcan be explained as they recently has hit a rough patch. But when Benget pretty sure that Vincent is seriously dangerous, and threatens hisfamily and Vincent still doesn't have any real hold on him yet, whydon't he go to the police? Or at least the security consultant that hiscompany already has hired? Instead he plays along, inevitably gettingcaught in Vincent's net.The cast is actually rather good, Gillows, Slater are joined by Warrenand Clarke Duncan. But they never seem to get something going. And thatsums up the entire movie. It never got going. There are many thrillersout there that are a lot better. Watch them instead.3/10
'Pursued' is a typical Canadian direct-to-video film with one interesting idea in its center, which is ruined by the inept direction. I know the fans of Christian Slater might look at it differently, but for me watching this horrible thriller turned out one of the most painful experiences. I believe even some of Slater's fans might have felt the same way.Slater plays a baddie here. He is Vincent Palmer, one of the top corporate headhunter who won't take no for an answer. He wants Ben Keats (Gil Bellows), who invented a revolutionary GPS system, so Vincent uses everything to recruit him. I mean, EVERYTHING.Even if you don't know the world of executive recruiters (and I don't either), you are going to find Vincent Palmer and his bahaviors so incredible and preposterous. He starts with frequent phone calls, then sending presents, next spying on Keats and his family with monitors, and look! the guy shows up everywhere! Usually what Vincent does is called stalking, but none of the Keats notices this guy played by overacting Slater with menacing eyes is in fact a dangerous man until the very last moment. What kind of company do you think would hire this dangerous guy with psychotic behaviors, whose dubious reputation can be easily detected on the internet? What kind of police, especially police of Seattle where this film is set, can allow this guy do whatever he wants when there are lots of (yes, lots of ) physical evidence that point to him? Like the PCs in the deserted warehouse? Like the forged signs? Like...Besides too many plot holes, the acting is so-so at best. In addition to over-the-top Slater and Bellows, Estella Warren and Oscar nominee Michael Clarke Duncan appear. Estella Warren is not much different from her in 'Driven' and 'Planet of the Apes,' and even Michael Clarke Duncan looks as if he does not know what to do in this mess. 'Pursued' and 'Alone in the Dark.' Two of these recent Christian Slater films can easily kill the career, or maybe already did. What ever happened to him?
Christian Slater does an adorable good guy but there's nothing betterthan Christian Slater doing a lunatic. He did a very good job of thatin this movie. I thought the movie was well written and had a very goodstoryline. A good case for someone who needs psychiatric medicationtaking a less stressful job. lol. A very clever bad guy isoutmaneuvered by the good guy. I supposed that was the only fly in theointment here. It would be nice to see the bad guy win for once.Especially in this case where the bad guy worked so hard for it. lol.Lots of action in this movie, which of course, Christian Slater does sowell. I'll probably end up watching it at least one more time, maybetwo.
Oh my god!...this movie is terrible. The plot is silly, the goofs arevery easy to find, the editing sucks, and everything is predictable. Issad to see cool actors like Slater and Duncan Clark doing that kind ofcrap. The character played by Gil Bellows is probably the most stupidgenius in movie history... a computer expert who can't find a way toshow everybody what's happening to him. And the idea of a liquidtracking system is too much. The wife just can't believe in herhusband, the boss looks strong like a bull but is terminally ill, andthe security expert follows the car of a maniac without any precaution.Don't waste 2 hours of your life in this movie, really...
Christian Slater plays the corporate headhunter 'Vincent Palmer' who is so relentless and obsessed at keeping his record of 'always getting his man' that he'll stoop to murder to get the job done. When this pill popping nightmare pursues family man Ben Keats, the game gets very ugly. A different type of thriller with a unique type of 'stalker'.Chrissy K. McVay - Author
SPOILERS THROUGH:Christian Slater stars in this movie as Vincent Palmer a corporaterecruiter, who has one major problem, that being that he is insane. GilBellows plays the hapless guy who Palmer targets as the perfect personto fill a job for his client. The only slight problem Is that this guyhas no interest in changing jobs. But that's not a problem for Mr.Palmer. He'll just force the guy to take the job by stalking him, threatening violence and generally making his every moment a nightmare. This movie sounded like it had potential. Not as being a good movie butas being one of those "so bad it's good" movies, the kind one loves tohate, knows is bad, but for some inexplicable reason watches(more thenonce) and is pretty entertained by anyway. That however was not to bewith Pursued. It wasn't "so bad it's good" it was just bad period.Stalker movies have been done and done again and it seems like everykind of situation has been covered but I must say I've not seen thisdone before so it did sound, at the very least interesting. Only itisn't. Within the movie's first few minutes, the viewer knows Slater'scharacter is insane. The rest of the movie is spent waiting for someonein the movie to realize it. Bellows character kind of gets it but hispassivity is really annoying as is the character of the wife who almostdefies belief with HER reaction to the won't take no for an answer headhunter. And Slater's performance isn't as campy as I'd have imagined itwould be. In fact the whole cast plays it pretty serious and the visualelement to the movie is almost non existent. It's very mundane in thatdepartment. The technical aspects of the movie are not very interesting and thespeech about the corporate executives becoming targets? Good speech butit sure didn't fit in this movie. (for some reason there was a briefmoment where I felt a sense of deja vu, like I was watching the movie"Disclsure", a much better movie that has almost nothing in common withthis one, but I could see a speech like this in a movie like that morethen here.) So, because everyone seems to be taking the movie soseriously there's no camp. There are also no twists and turns. Thereare also no surprises. There is no character development. (ok-movieslike this rarely have character development. But still....) Also It is just not that interesting. Almost everybody is annoyinganyway and the few that aren't, are not given enough screen time. Plusmany of the performers just mail in their performances anyway, though afew are actually pretty good. It's not unwatchable and isn't as bad assome of the other, more well known movies of this type, but on thewhole this was still pretty Disappointing.
I 'pursued' this movie with low expectations but was presentlysurprised. It is a fast paced thriller with a good flow. The pursuer will do anything to get the pursued recruited. Good acting from every one ingeneral with specially good one from Ben in the movie. One question is why the wife is so immature to not trust her husbandand find it good when a stranger keeps giving free gifts. Also, thepolice can be brought on if some one is stalked the way it is sown inthe movie. Its a neat movie which slowly goes into the violent aspect withoutbeing totally unreal. Good editing is of of the strong points. Overall, if you are looking for a movie which would give mild thrillwithout testing your brain too much and yet be slick and cool, its verymuch perfect.
Christian Slater plays an obnoxious corporate headhunter who will doanything to get his man and earn his commission, even if it meansmurder. Slater in fact turns out to be a homicidal maniac, barely incontrol, and the plot revolves around his hounding of a rising youngexecutive (Gil Bellows) who is being courted by a competitor. You'veseen it all before. There are a couple of nice fight scenes, but it'sall so predictable. Slater is strident and one-note throughout. Hisdemise at the end is a howl. By the way, the actors are so closelymiked you are guaranteed to have a headache before the halfway point. This looks like it was shot for TBS or USA.
This is a great movie; the story were great, Directing is good, but I have to give my hand to Christen Slater, he did a excellent job acting, this movie I recommend to to rent!
"Pursued" is a good mystery\thriller with some silly moments. ChristianSlater stars as Vincent Palmer, a headhunter who recruits up-and-comersin the technology business. He does whatever it takes. This is theprobably the first time Christian Slater plays a psycho. He plays itconvincingly. He does such a excellent job, you root for him. AnytimeVincent is on-screen (which is most of the time)the movie has a lot ofenergy. The other main character is Ben Keats, played by Gil Bellows.Unfortunately, Ben is a two dimensional character who is a little toolaid back. There are a couple of plot missteps like Ben getting aspeech about secret cameras that could be in a pen and then the nextscene is Ben getting a pen and he doesn't check for a camera. It's likehe forgot the whole speech. The climax is exciting but a tad goofy. Inthe end: It's worth seeing for a great, hyped up performance byChristian Slater and a lot of other tension filled moments. For more insanity, please visit: comeuppancereviews.com
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie which was fast movie, filled with suspense, and a good bit of action. The story line was fantastic and captured my interest from the beginning. This picture is about a freelance Corporate Headhunter (Christian Slater) who always gets his head. He resorts to some unorthodox tactics but has a 100 percent success rate for attaining his objective. That is until he meets one man who is most content to remain with his current employer. This fellow proves a real challenge for the headhunter. So does he get his man, or will the headhunter fall victim to his own maniacal schemes? Watch and find out for yourself. I highly recommend this movie to any mature minded adult over the age of 18 years of age.
She is is my dance class or should I say used to... She got kicked out because she didn't come to any of the classes and she missd out the year end show... she isn't welcome there anymore.
This movie was acted well and very realistic. Although the headhunterrole was a bit over zealous, that is what makes it an entertainingmovie. The character Ben was acted very well. Ben was an average guywho did what most people would: he was polite at the beginning andtolerated the headhunter up to a point. However, when he finally didhave enough and took action he ended up in trouble with the law, whichis also realistic. Contrary to most Hollywood movies in which people goaround killing or beating people up without consequence or having toanswer for their actions; this movie presented a very realisticperspective. What would one do if one were pursued by a headhunter whowouldn't take "No" for an answer and wasn't breaking any laws? Althoughto some extent a court restraining order may have resolved the issue Âthen it wouldn't have been much of a movie. This movie gave a credibleand plausible story and is believable.
