I heard about this movie, but really didn't know what to expect. Well, to say the least, it turned out better than expected. I believed all of the characters and even saw some of my own personal situations in the movie. So true to life!!
This is a MUST SEE movie!!!!! I loved it. Broke me down to tears!!!
The movie carries an important message about the drama of living life. The acting was excellent and the story just as good.A very mature way to live life on life's terms.
Two (2) excellent actors. Great story. Hated Mother-in-law. Tooooo Devoted daughter makes a dumb, neglectful wife. Morris was tooo good a man to neglect. Taraji's character was stupid. I actually wanted him to leave her. She did not deserve him. I could not believe this grown woman let her mother come into her home and regulate. Her behavior in the restaurant was almost unforgiveable. Good Movie.
I just recently saw this movie and wouldhighly recommend it...the film was veryentertaining.. their was never a boringslow part threw out the movie..it wasfunny sad.. and happy..
This review is from: Not Easily Broken (DVD) The aforementioned DVD was received in great condition and the movie is great to watch!
This review is from: Not Easily Broken (DVD) This is a realistic, heart-wrenching view of trials that can be faced and endured in a relationship. The actors are authentic, and do an outstanding job in this movie. It's good to see Morris Chestnut again, as well as Taraji P. Henson and Jenifer Lewis (and as much as I like her, I almost stopped because of how well she portrayed her character as Taraji's mother). Great movie!
You must buy the DVD so that you can watch the making of the movie in the special features section. The making of the movie is just as enjoyable and edifying as the movie, maybe more so. Also the movie was visually beautiful with a lovely and sensitive soundtrack. I really enjoyed the intelligent and sensitive narration from a man's perspective by Morris Chestnut. Thanks Bishop!
I wanted support the movie because I am a big fan of T.D. Jakes' works.I went with a sibling who was also skeptical about the film because ofthe lack of buzz around it. To sum up our experience, we were SO GLADthat we went to view it last night. We thoroughly enjoyed the film asdid the rest of the audience. We are still talking about it.Morris Chestnut and Taraji Henson did a great job with their roles. Ihighly recommend the movie for couples, singles, divorcées, and etc. asthe movie makes points about relationships that everyone can relate toon some level - yet without beating you over the head. Do not go by the reviews, go and see this movie for yourself - you willnot be disappointed!
For many who apply bible principles, it is a good movie and on point about Husband, wife, and GOD. The three cord figurative rope of marriage, ECCL 4:12. This combination cannot be easily broken.
Whether you are single, dating, or married, you will see yourself, or those around you in this film. Don't compare this film to any TD Jakes film you've seen before. A lot of people are comparing him and Tyler Perry. This film is nothing like any of the films about relationships you've ever seen. I promise! Teraji Henson and Morris Chestnut did an excellent job with this film, and much credit to Jennifer Lewis, and especially Kevin Hart for the comic relief. The set up of the script was almost perfect. There was some flaws, but the actors and Directors did an amazing job overall. I was able to see this film with about 300 of my closest friends in an advance screening, and I still plan on paying to see it again. If you don't get teary eyed, somethins is definitely wrong. Without giving the movie away, I tried to be strong through some of the tear jerking moments, but could not hold back as the plot moved along. I recommend this film to anyone who is willing to take a subjective look at themselves and their relationships in life, family and loves.
I liked this movie, It has meaning. To me the movies is based on true events that can happen to any family. Good movie to watch, just for information, or enjoyment.
Not easily broken really lived up to the hype.T.d jakes really impressed me when i'd seen this masterpiece.the whole outline was very realistic and creative. It was a story that i couldn't turn away from.I didn't want to go and get more popcorn.the acting was truly oscar-worthy in my eyes. this would truely be a movie to add to your collection on dvd.A movie you can go and see with your spouse and spend time seeing.
This review is from: Not Easily Broken [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) This movie is something most of us go through and is definitely endering and heart felt. Very good story and heart warming.
This movie felt real. I could see how this is possible. No one would stand up under such pressure. Morris and Taranja played a perfect couple with problems and resolve.
Learn the lesson from the movie that God is what keeps 2 together through the storms of life. Prioritize from the heart his way and remove distractions (nosey people, girlfriends, boys, etc) A man and a woman are simply too sophisticated and complex to expect a spouse to meet their needs. It takes a higher calling of love in the union to make it beautiful season after season. This movie depicts that for the most part.A good movie with a purpose. A must for the video collection......heck it's a marital aid.
I enjoyed this movie, and I gave it 3 stars...But I was also disappointed in this movie.First of all, for it to be promoted as a spiritual movie there was entirely too much cussing. I am far from being a prude, and those who know me are aware that I will let off a word or two. However,as an author, I don't curse when I write Christian fiction, because when advertising something as spiritual or Christian its inappropriate. It wasn't light cursing either, like a word here or there like in The Fighting Temptations...it was all over the place. Other than the minister, I had a hard time telling any of these cursing characters from one in any other movie. As a writer I know I tend to over critique some stories...and this is one of them. While enjoyable...it had no rhyme or reason. It was just random drama. Perhaps that is what happens when a book becomes a movie, but in this case, it was just weird.Again, I did enjoy the movie. It just was not at all what I was expecting, and honestly...I never saw God in this movie. One scene with a minister and a prayer...does not make a movie spiritual.
I saw the movie with my husband in Simi Valley, CA of (Rodney King fame). It was dishearting to enter the theater and find only one other person. This film was not just for black folks it was for folk, black, white, brown, yellow, married or single. It eloquently delivered a thought provoking story of marriage, relationships and consequences. How refresing not to hear the foul language and see graphic sex and violence. The cast brilliantly delivered this believable story.TD Jakes reminds us that God needs to be part of the mix. Tell your friends and co workers to support this movie about the relationship of a married couple.
I loved the story line. It happens like so many times, either his mother and/or her mother, or someone else is always getting in the middle of your relationship. I really love this movie.
I really loved this movie. It really opened my eyes to any future relationship that I will have in the movie. There needs to be more positive, God filled movies that will help people in their lives. God should be number one in all our lives. Of course the critics dont understand or anyone else who doesnt have a relationship with the Lord. And Morris Chestnut is one FINE man....sheeeeeessh. God created such a beautiful thang...lol
