Oh my! I really want my 1.5 hrs & my rental money back. This movie wasawful. First of all, I didn't realize it was going to be 5 unrelatedshort clips. My mistake. Apparently seeing the big names that were init were enough to rent it without research. I felt like I was watchingthe Twilight Zone or Creep Show where nothing makes sense and there isno rhyme or reason why these clips were put all together in one movie. When it ended abruptly and did not tie in together AT ALL, I seriouslysaid WTF? I hopped online immediately after it ended to review it soothers will not have to endure this suffering. Don't rent it. It's notworth your time or money.
I just finished watching this dvd. I only rented it, because Robert Pattinson is in it.Robert was only on there for about the first 5 minutes. I rented this from red box and I thought that this would be a good movie. I wouldn't consider this a movie. It is a bunch of short stories. None of them have anything to do with the other. I definately would not waste my money buying this movie. If you have to watch it, then I would recomend renting it and I would rent it from red box, so it would only cost $1.00 Just by watching the previews that are on this dvd, I don't think that I will rent anymore dvds that are produced by phase 4 films. Overall, I would give this zero stars, but you have to put atleast one.
This movie is a waste of time, a waste of money and a waste of, usually, good actor's talents. I do not recommend buying, renting or anything else with this one.
I'm not sure what the point of this compilation of clippings and halfthoughts is supposed to represent. I am only left to determine thatthis was a joke by the people involved and those who distributed it. Ifthere were negative stars I would use them.I would think that the major actors given top billing in the movie fortheir brief scenes would pay large sums of money to have them removed. If I may quote from my favorite review on Rotten Tomatoes - "This movieis a huge piece of crap in a crap bucket."I actually want to sue someone for lost time and suffering plus the$1.08 I paid at the Red Box.Someone please explain.
I rented this from a $1.00 box and glad I didn't spend more then that. As it is, that was too much. I thought that with a cast that starred in it (or donated their presence) that this would be a great movie to watch. Oh was I ever so wrong and ever so disappointed. As others have posted, 5 short stories. I did not see them tying together as a few posted. Robert Pattinson was brief and the lighting so bad you could barely see him. Robert Downey Jr. was wasted on his bit part. Sam Worthington was ok, but should stick to something with action in it. I did actually like the Amy Adams' "Pennies" story. As stated in a previous review, it does have a twist at the end that you are not expecting. James Franco didn't do too bad for what he was given to work with. Regardless, I wish I had spent the time cleaning my toilets and cat's litter box rather then watching this movie. If you MUST see it, please save yourself some money and go rent it first. I'm sure it will be in the $5.00 bin at a major discount chain within a month.
A COMPLETE WAIST OF MY MONEY AND TIME!!!!! I cannot believe what a letdown this movie was! I could bearly get through the first 20 minutes! If I would of had to watch this movie 1 more minute I would have clawedmy eyeballs out with the gardening rake!!!!! Robert Pattinson! Youcompletely let me down! I rented this movie thinking I would fall inlove all over again with Robert!!! Instead, I wanted to DIE! The bigtime actors in this movie COMPLETELY should sue the director and mostof all the writer!!!!!! Nevermind, they should shoot him!!!!! DO NOTWAISTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HORRIBLE DREADFUL MOVIE!!! All it does issuck you in like a toilet with the big named actors it shows on thecover!! I did not find Love and Distrust...now I only distrust moviewriters!!!! Redbox I want a refund...Thank you! I hope this helps savesomeone else's life! I almost died in the 20 minutes I spent onthis....well I wont even call it a movie!!! More like, an elementaryplay!
Wow... I usually don't post reviews on bad movies (its just a casualty to watching a lot of movies) but this one is CRAP! Seriously, no wonder it went straight to DVD. Heed my advice and run away from this movie! Side note: Dear directors, can you reimburse my time I waste on your movie???
This review is from: Love & Distrust (DVD) This dvd arrived on time and in great condition!! I had to add this dvd to my collection, as i'm a huge Robert Pattinson fan. :)
I can't even begin to imagine what induced this high caliber cast to do this truly dreadful movie. Thank goodness I only paid $1 to rent it. Save your money, save your time and avoid this movie at all costs. I could say more, but I would just be repeating the comments that others have already written.
This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen. To backpedal a littleabout, I would like to say that their idea for the movie wasinteresting, and I get the feeling the short films included werewritten by amateurs looking for a chance to show the world what theycan do. However, the quality of the picture, the awful writing, and theability of the film to turn actors I respect and admire like JamesFranco and Robert Downey Jr. into what you would consider B- or C-listreally comes together to make for a really, really bad movie. Even thetransitions between the skits and the way the music cuts in and outadds to the goofy factor."Grasshopper" may have been the only semi-decent part, but you willeven notice the degradation of James Franco's acting skills in thispart. His not-so-subtle use of his eyebrow movements and the lack ofrealism in the story contribute to a movie that can be best describedwith a rating of 1 out of 10.
This movie was very disappointing considering the caliber of actors that were in the movie. Don't waste your money or time. I hope that this movie was some sort of joke because it was terrible.
"Love & Distrust" suffers from a problem that most independent filmswould love to have: too much star power. Starring Robert Pattinson, SamWorthington, James Franco, Amy Adams and Robert Downey, Jr, people seemto be expecting a cross of "Twilight" meets "Avatar" meets "Spider-Man"meets "Enchanted" meets "Iron Man". Expectations are way out of whack.A film with that kind of mix would be even worse than "Love &Distrust".What "Love & Distrust" really is, is a compilation of 5 unrelated shortfilms in the vein of something like "Coffee and Cigarettes" (2003). Thevignettes have nothing in common except that they are all supposed toshow the various elements associated with love, like: obsession, mistrust, and seduction. The second major problem of the film is thatthe 15-minute vignettes are drawn out with short-lived characters andobtuse lessons on love."Love & Distrust" may be slow, boring and arguably meaningless, and Iprobably know more about love than its stars. But it's a conceptuallook at the variations of love and trust that hasn't been explored inquite this way and I appreciate their attempt at least.Follow my blog Napierslogs' Movie Expositions athttp://napierslogs.blogspot.com
Honestly, and I mean this, maybe the worst move I've ever seen in my life. It's simply unbelieveable that a cast like this would produce such a dreadful bunch of stories to compose a sorry excuse for a movie. It has appearances by Amy Adams, James Franco, Robert Downey Jr, James Cameron, and more! The movie is made of several different stories; all are which seem to go nowhere. The directing is amatueur, the script is terrible, and there is no depth at all to it.The story starring Amy Adams has a good feel to it, but the whole thing leading up to the ending is boring. The last one is the worst, just a bunch of confusing scenes to run absolutely nowhere (the guy from the Sopranos tries to hit on women on a sidewalk and keeps getting turned down. That's it...seriously...that's it. End credits) And he's a great actor; what were all these people thinking. To sum it up, I rented this for $1.00 and I'm still upset. Absolutely terrible. Save yourself!
This movie was terriable! I hated it and could not even bring my slef to finish it. It made no sense and had a terriable story line. I do not recommed this movie to anyone, it was a completley disapointing. I cant even believe that there is so many good actors in this film and it still sucked so bad! Terriable Movie!

Most of us choosing to watch this movie will probably know about themovie before watching it. I actually chose it in a bad movie month(November) because as a guy I actually thought (and still do) thatRobert Pattinson of Twilight fame and on the back of 'Remember Me' wasa good actor. the movie also featured Robert Downey Junior and AmyAdams and I thought it was worth a whirl.sorry, it wasted my evening, what a complete load of absolute rubbish, garbage, words fail me. It is one of the worst films which I have everseen and was surely made to mock us all in our intelligence of watchability. The film starts okay but goes rapidly downhill from there. I wasexpecting a connection between the five stories but there wasabsolutely none and as for any love theme, that lost me completely.Movies like Crash, Fragments, Babel and others enthralled me but thisone leaves me wondering what it was Alla bout and the sad thing is Iwill hesitate about watching another Pattinson/Adams movie after thisdebacle. This makes movies like 'Cloverfield' look like an Oscar nominee. The 'waitress' thing was quite watchable but far from entertaining andthe 'cars' thing towards the end - the guy trying to pick up the ladies- and the mature lady who finds her 'cowboy' - just leaves youwondering what we are watching. The ending has absolutely no meaningand if there is any acting of real note, it is probably from the sexygirl on the train.Be warned - this movie should definitely carry a health warning!
I have to fully agree with Paul David's assessment! This movie is madeto mock us in our intelligence. In no way are the short "skits"...Ican't even call them a compilation of short "movies"...complete enoughto be worthwhile to the viewer. They are certainly artsy...anddramatic, but without a congruent storyline overall (and perhaps thereis...but I have a hard time finding it) the movie is not worth thedollar that I put in the Redbox. I watched the WHOLE movie hoping thatI would find a common thread, only to be disappointed that I wastedthat much of my life. I believe that if they had fewer story lines andwent back and forth between story lines the viewers would be much moreinterested. Surely the actors must have known what a joke the movie was. Onceagain, I agree with Paul David in that I feel let down by the bigplayers...Amy Adams, Robert Downey Jr.(his skit was like watchingbloopers at the end of a serious movie), and Robert Pattinson (for thelife of me, I can't understand why he agreed to do this movie...withsuch a budding career ahead of him...it was like a slap in the face tohis fans). This was one of the worst movies that I have EVER seen. The only reasonthat I just wasted this much time, was to prevent others from wastingtheir lives' precious time!
This review is from: Love & Distrust (DVD) This was one of the worst movies I have seen in a very long time. Save your money, don't buy it.!
For someone who randomly selects movies that I have no prior knowledgeof and with expectations that it could be bad, but hold out for hopethat it could be the best....I had no idea! I have seen some awfulmovies in the past, but this movie has made me change my thoughtprocess of selecting movies in the future. Just because it has bignames doesn't necessarily mean that it will be watchable by any means.Love & Distrust is the the worst pile of junk that I have ever seen. Itwas like watching a movie written by a 5 year old. No I take thatback...at least a 5 years old movie could be funny & entertaining. Thiswas like staring at a blank screen for an hour. I don't mind spendingmoney on a mediocre movie, but come on, this movie sucked. I want my$1.08 back from Redbox!
This is without a doubt the worst movie of 2010 and is a high contender for worst movie of the last decade. My boyfriend and I tortured ourselves with this film and kept our fingers crossed that the stories would all come together at the end. Well, they didn't. It is poorly edited, confusing and just plain stupid. Please don't waste your time or money. We got this movie out of the RedBox and I'm thinking about not returning it. No one should have to go through what we went through. I would have much rather watched my daughter's movie selection, "Barbie in A Fashion Fairytale." At least her movie had a plot! I don't ever comment on movies, good or bad, but this is one of those special situations where I feel the need to perform a public service and warn others. DO NOT RENT, BUY OR IN ANY WAY SUPPORT THE VIEWING OF THIS FILM!One more thing... Amazon requires you to choose a rating when you fill out one of these things. I wanted to give this film a big, fat ZERO, but they won't let me!
