Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has it all. Shes the president of her sorority, a Hawaiian Tropic girl, Miss June in her campus calendar, and, above all, a natural blonde. She dates the cutest fraternity boy on campus and wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III. But, theres just one thing stopping Warner (Matthew Davis) from popping the question Elle is too blonde. Growing up across the street from Aaron Spelling might mean something in LA, but nothing to Warners East-Coast blue blood family. So, when Warner packs up for Harvard Law and reunites with an old sweetheart from prep school, Elle rallies all her resources and gets into Harvard, determined to win him back. But law school is a far cry from the comforts of her poolside and the mall. Elle must wage the battle of her life, for her guy, for herself and for all the blondes who suffer endless indignities everyday.
I love this movie it is definitely a feel good girl power comedy. Itshows you the following things: You can do anything you set your mindto.Women are equal.Give people a chance and things will be better.I love Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair, Luke Wilson, Holland Taylor, AliLater, etc. They all do a great job acting. Kudos to the cast, crew, filmmakers and all others. 10 out of 10 stars. Two Thumbs Way Up!Note: The sequel is also very good see my review on hat one also. Ifyou think that the second one is at all cheesy, your are so wrong andneed to see it again.
This movie was excellent. Ok, so some parts were a little cheesy but thewhole outlook of it is brilliant. I've seen so many trailers for it, whichinspired me to see the movie. Reese Witherspoon plays an excellent part, along with Selma Blair and Luke Wilson. The cute little dog has no linesbutis crucial to the movie. The little clothes it wears is so sweet!I think it can be aimed at mostly females. I'm 15 and really enjoyed it. Itwas a great laugh and my aunt even thought so!So what if it's directed by a guy, it's still a good flick to catch. Go andwatch it, and enjoy it! There's not a dumb blonde in sight!
My first impression to Elle Woods is "She spent a lot of time ondressing up herself." AS a young girl, I used to wear my mom's clothessecretly just wanted to be graceful and elegant. Therefore, when I grewolder I started to wear my mom's clothes whenever I want to(Of course, with my mom's permission first) and I spent more time on my hairstyleand fingernails, too. Sometimes, I even put on some cosmetics. Aithoughthis sounds quite stupid and funny(because I was only ten years old), Ijust want to be more attractive. Thus, I started to fall behind theclass. My parents were worried about me, but I just answered themcoldly "Whatever!" After months went by, I a little girl fell in lovewith a boy in our class. This was a real turning point in my life.Because the boy who I like has always been the first place, that didn'tmade me felt frustrated, instead it awoke me from my beautiful dream. Itold myself"If I don't study hard, he will never notice me even if Idress up like a super model." In the end , I didn't express the feelingin my deep heart, though,I thanked him for leading me to the road ofsuccess. Hence, when I saw this movie "Legally Blonde" I saw a littlebit of myself in it unexpectedly. So if you haven't woke up from yourdearest dream. Do,now! Face the reality, a wonderful and bright futureis waiting for you!
Last Tuesday I went to Cinema for the Sneak Preview. At the moment I'veseenthe name of the movie, I was on my way out, but my girlfriend has stop me.After the movie, I've thank her, great movie, great actors, fantastic story= Legally Blonde
I was told what a good, fun movie this was and that I should see it, but I kept putting off seeing it. I suspected it was dumb, or just so much puff and fluff. Eventually, I did watch the movie and was so pleasantly surprised and pleased, I watched it again! Very fun viewing and one cheers and heralds the triumph over conceit and old boy school in the end ( Prior to viewing, I never suspected I would cheer on the blonde..but hey!)
I was so surprized when I saw the movie "Legally Blonde." People told me itwas the college version of "Clueless," but a bad one. They were so wrong, about it being bad, although it did remind me of "Clueless" it had a freshsince of humor about it.Reece Witherspoon did a wonderful job of portraying a not so dumb blondewhoovercomes all, even a dickweed ex. The rest of the cast adds to the humortremendously from the bitchy new girlfriend to the beautician Elle confidesin, even the dog is completly hilarious!I would highly recomend this movie to anyone interested in a good, cleanlaugh. I promise you will enjoy it.
I went into this movie thinking typical chick flick and walked out thinking "That was one of the BEST films I have ever seen" I loved it. The characters are so relatable and likable the story is just wonderful, there are lots of warm fun moments and side splitting laughs! If that wasn't good enough the dvd has two sides and side B is just all special features... thats how many special features they have they needed a whole second side! What more can I say Legally Blonde rocks!!
Legally Blonde (2001) directed by Robert Luketic stars ReeseWitherspoon as Elle Woods - a Californian golden girl who has it all Âshe is blonde, pretty, popular, adored by her wealthy parents and herfriends in college where she is the president of her sorority. As weknow from the movies, gentlemen prefer blondes but alas not a gentlemanwhom Elle is dating and expecting him to propose any minute. Instead,as the movie turns, the blondes also have blues because they are nottaken seriously by the men from the blue blood families. When theobject of Elle's desire heads off to Harward Law School, she decided toget him back by proving that the blondes have "a head for business anda bod for sin. Is there anything wrong with that?" The first step forElle was to get admitted to the same school, and she did it. But thatwas only the beginning...You know, I've seen "Legally Blonde" several times and I know that itis not the best movie ever made, far from it but I like it. I am not aWitherspoon's fan, I don't find her a stunning beauty but she is atalented young actress who brought a certain charm to the role. I amalso a true believer that "happy people just don't kill their husbands, they just don't" and I like how Reese delivers this piece of wisdom. The second Blonde movie is a different matter altogether and belongs tothe category of absolutely useless sequels.6.5/10
"Legally Blonde" is one of the funniest movies in the world. I'm not blonde naturally (I'm a brunette by nature, but I dyed my hair two summers ago, and now I'm keeping it that color), but I can definitely see where Elle is coming from. This movie is a must-see for anyone, whether you be blonde, brunette, redhead, black-haired or even green-haired. It's definitely on my top ten, maybe even top five!
It was cute. This movie had its moments. Either I laughed out loud or Iwasrolling my eyes.I love Reese Witherspoon. I just wish the dialogue was consistentlyfunny. And, as a former cheerleader of 7 years, I fully appreciated Reese'scharacter's frustration of not being taken seriously. YOU GO GIRL!!No, I'm not blond.6/10
D'you ever hear this one blonde joke?Yeah, they made a movie about it.While Legally Blonde showcases a lovely Reese Witherspoon, sadly itfailedto deliver comedy to me. A very simple girl overcomes stereotype flickwithlittle umph to make it stand out, other than the fact that the joke's onblondes. You could almost make the connection with formula Adam Sandlermovies: harassed underdog scores big in opponent's home court, all thewhileridiculing all obstacles with self-important snide.Maybe it's just my sense of decency, but the fact that you can still beabubbly cheerleader and defend a case in a court of law is not exactly howIsee one giving a stuffy system a breath of fresh, liberal air. I feltdrained throughout the entire movie... nothing but stereotype afterstereotype character parading in and out with a lame joke attached totheirimage... i.e. the gay witness and the fat best friend. If you want to loosen all intellect and have fun knowing popular kidscanstill have an influence over hard workers in the real world ...oops...watchthis movie. I wouldn't dare catch the sequel.
Reese Witherspoon plays a fashion student who decides to go to Harvard tobecome a law student. She is dump by her boyfriend go to law school andfollow the boyfriend to law school to win him back. Will she find more tofollow a man than your dreams? At first I did not want to see this film, butafter a recommendation from friend to see it. Witherspoon's performance asthe lead character make worth to see Legally Blonde.
I really didn't know what to expect of this when I rented it, but being the deranged movie maniac I am (in the nicest possible way) I plunked down a whole NZ$3 (which is probably something like 30c US) and took the durn thing home, grabbed a nice cold beer and slammed it into my VCR. For a while, my friends; it was heavy going: giggly dopey airheads saying "like" endlessly. But I persevered.... and things got better. Sure, the ending is so stupid and unlikely that you will be rolling your eyeballs toward the heavens, but this story of a blonde bimbo who becomes a lawyer to prove to her ex-boyfriend there's more to her than being blonde and having a body you could eat off, is actually quite likeable, in large part to Reese Witherspoon's performance (plus she looks really hot in a bikini too).
Oh, this was such an awesome movie!! I was laughing so much!! ReeseWitherspoon did great with her character, Elle Woods. And her two ditzyfriends are a crack up!! I especially liked her dog...That was really cutehow his outifts changed and stuff. You HAVE to see this movie because itwas really, really great!! Not necessarily a movie for guys, but I thoughtit was SUPERB!!
I have always enjoyed Reese Witherspoon, I think she is a very talented, smart, funny, and beautiful actress. I hope that people really notice her talent in this role. Reese Witherspoon is hilarious as Elle, a steriotypical blonde, California girl. Elle really shows everyone, especially her boyfriend Warner that thinks she isn't smart enough. I never laugh out loud in movies, and this movie had me laughing the whole time, Jennifer Coolige is also very funny as the woman from the salon! ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!
well law is boring.......... really is it???????????? well no more.watching this movie will surely INSPIRE many people especially girls totake law. well this is an above average comedy and one of the best teenflicks i have ever seen. this movie was thoroughly ENTERTAINING with aperfect lead REESE WITHERSPOON. well it was hard to get her off her"ELECTION" IMAGE. and now after watching this it was hard to get heroff her "LEGALLY BLONDE" IMAGE and now just recently i watched WALK THELINE well it's hard now to get her off her JUNE CARTER image. thisclearly proves how much well she acts and how well she gets into therole.well never did i think she would be winning Oscars in a way she's luckyreal lucky.i think this movie is real good and funnyly inspiring. well watch itand you will love it. 9/10(real good teen flick,Election is good too)
At first glance, this film would appear to be a rehash of "Clueless" - especially when comparing the equally blonde, likable, and rich characters played by Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde). However, after 30 minutes, you start to realise that Legally Blonde is actually a fish-out-of-water story. Elle (Reese's character) is a fashion major and sorority girl from a (fictional) west-coast university who decides to go to Harvard Law School (in pursuit of her boyfriend). She barely makes it in (a scene that contains the film's funniest moment: "Don't we encourage diversity in our program?"), and shows up in Massachusetts dressed in hot pink with her chihuahua in tow. In hearty contrast are her classmates - serious law students toting Masters degrees and dressed in beige and grey. The story is basically how Elle buckles down, learns to work hard, and wins the approval of her peers and professors while remaining true to herself. The movie only works because of Wotherspoon's protrayal - Elle is completely likeable, even when she starts off as a spoiled rich girl. The movie doesn't dwell on artificial crises thrown in Elle's way (in fact, the cut scenes on the DVD include a few of these, which the editor wisely eliminated). Instead, we are drawn in by the character and are cheering for her to make it through the law degree. In addition, to the untrained ear, the legalese is convincing, not a parrot of filibuster courtroom scenes from past movies. The DVD edition, oddly enough, may be more than most people would expect for such a film. There are 2 audio commentaries, some short featurettes (one enumerates all of Reese's hair styles, something like 32 in total), and a pop-up video trivia track. All are entertaining to some degree, if occasionally repetative. Most interesting are the cut scenes, including an introduction to each (and explanation why they were cut) by the director. All of this (including both widescreen and P&S forms of the film) fits on a single disc (2-sided).Therefore, for a light-hearted, fun film, check it out. If you are already a fan of the film, the DVD includes lots of goodies which recommends it over the VHS tape.
Legally Blonde is a wonderfully self raising film. It has taught me notto listen to people who tell me I can't do it. Elle's detirminationreminds me of myself. And Emmet is a very clever man. Legally Blondecan be classified as 7/10.Legally Blonde is about a girl called Elle who is very girly and lovesthings like boys and make up. At the beginning of the movie, Elle'sboyfriend Warner Hunington III decides to take her out dinner. Shewrongly believes that he is going to propose but instead he breaks upwith her because he believes that because he is going to Harvard LawSchool, he needs to marry someone serious. So Elle not only proves that she can get into Harvard, she can reallykick butt as a lawyer too!
I loved the movie. I thought Reese was wonderful. There are other comic oddities that you catch after viewing the movie a couple of times. It also has a pop-up video version that gives cool information about the movie, the stars and women in general. Overall a really great movie--considering the target audience.
This film has, like, way too many deus ex machinae (like, wow, I, like, usedLatin) but it is nevertheless enjoyable.Hearts, neon colors, a little dog, girls going for their "MRS" degree,Jackie as opposed to Marilyn, and lots more -- it all adds up to an epicbattle of the preppies, the manicurists, the blondes, and the nerds vs. thejerks of the world. Who could get mad at a movie in which the maincharacterdoes a video directed by a Coppola as her entrance essay into Harvard?Someone in the movie puts it this way -- Barbie goes to Harvard. And it'sworth the effort. The film has great fun with political correctness, diversity, the law, andeverything else that sits under its zany hairdryer. As a member of thejury,I vote -- acquital!!!(Like, in case you don't know what the Latin meant, like, it means thatthere were, like, too many easy solutions. But, like, who cares? Ya knowwhat I mean?)
