A vacationing woman meets her ideal man, leading to a swift marriage. Back at home, however, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbors could be assassins who have been contracted to kill the couple.
The story is very unrealistic. Ashton Kutcher does a good job but the plot is dumb. It is not very funny.
I expected a lot from this movie as it had 2 great actors, but this started off nice and romantic and somewhat funny, and it just got stupider and stupider, I didn't even finish watching the movie it was so worthless. Def do not buy, rent first and see if you like it.
Jen Kornfeldt and Spencer Aimes meet in Nice France. They fall in love, and three years later they are happily married. Spencer however has nottold her that used to kill for the CIA, but has walked out. There isnow a very generous price on his head. What is he gonna do when theS**t hits the fan.Killers needs a massive rethinking. Based on the employment of dialoguedriven exposition, to set up a dorky scenario, the presence of mightyTom Selleck making a fool of himself, and Kathryn Heigl's delivery, youcan sense right from the get-go that Killers may be in trouble. One ofthe biggest problems with the film is its construction. It spends agood fifty minutes setting up, for a lame pay off. The remaining fortyminutes of gunfire, take us absolutely nowhere. We do a big loop aroundthe city, listening to Heigl and Kutcher bicker. The filmmakers havemisjudged Killers potential comedic value, frankly I'm not sure it hadthat much to begin with. Killers tries to make something amusing out ofthe hypothetical question what if everybody in you life was trying tokill you. Killers may have worked a bit better if Heigl and Kutcher were more funto be around. Unfortunately neither one of them is that funny. Killershas a few scattered laughs, but some of them may be unintentional.Otherwise the film is pretty lame.
I was eager to watch this film because of the two stars: Kutcher and Heigl, but there was no plot whatsoever. There are scenes that are funny, but without a story to hold it together, it falls flat. There wasn't even a major bad guy in it. The film really feels incomplete in more ways; I was watching it and then all of a sudden, it was over! I don't even get why they were called Killers, because they were anything but. I'm glad I screened this before my husband saw it, otherwise, that would have been a date night spoiled. Avoid this film and if you really want to, borrow it for free from your public library.
Movie has great idea etc... but total ruin for this movie is awfulacting performance by Ashton Kutcher. He usually has funny Comedymovies and they are just fine, but this one... horrible, completelyruins the whole movie. Probably that's what Katherine wasn't relaxedeither so her acting was on edge to be awful, but still betterperformed than Ashton. We don't know of course was such acting asked from them by the Directoror whoever, but this is not how movies should be played out.So this is definitely NOT recommended movie to watch, you just feelfrom the start that something is wrong and it keeps on going andgoing... and you don't see any progress whatsoever...
This review is from: Killers (DVD) I usually don't care for Ashton, but he did a good job in this movie. It is well written and keeps you guessing as to what's really going on. Many twists the whole way through.
Seriously, if you watch this movie, you will loathe yourself for completely throwing away precious minutes of your life. I had great hopes for this movie, great hopes that were violently crushed by the most awful story line/plot and completely pathetic ending.
A bloated mess that's not remotely funny -- or suspenseful.
Unbeknownst to Heigl, hubby Kutcher is an ex-assassin for thegovernment who "got out" when he and his then future wife met cute inNice. Three years into their marriage, he learns the hard way that a$20 million reward has been set out for his head, the once picturesqueneighborhood is turning into a playground for wanna-be bounty hunters, and he has to rearrange his marital life, reluctantly returning to hisroots. Helped by the pitch-perfect, attractive Heigl-Kutcher pairingand skillfully choreographed fight sequences, director Luketic expertlymolds the familiar material into an infectuously entertaining, unpredictable blend of Nick & Nora Charles comedy-mystery and modernday action flick. If all that can't convince you, simply watch it forthe scene stealing shenanigans of Catherine O'Hara as Heigl's ever sothirsty mother.
I am not sure about other bad reviews on this silly light funny romantic movies led by 2 beautiful people = Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, but I actually enjoyed the movie. I mean, if you know Kutcher (he's a sweet eye-candy for the woman) is in a movie, you shouldn't take the movie and him too seriously. I also like Tom Selleck - he's always a good actor in whatever movie he is in. If you want to turn off your brain for 1.5 hours and have a fun movie night, this is a good film to watch with your buddies and family members.
If it were not for Ashton, this movie would be even worse. At least he and Heigl are pretty to look at, in every single scene. Literally. The premise of the movie has been explained. But the laughs, they are never funny. They are over-played, typical non-laughs that only young children (who have never seen the old stand by jokes) would even chuckle at. Things like "I was in the France love bubble..." "I was in the France love bubble then, too" make the movie even worse. The fact that everyone is a killer, there is no real gore (thankfully) and every scene is just so pretty...comes together in a really weird way. A happy, model-looks couple and everyone is out to get them. Typical crazy-annoying neighbors in an uptight rich community. A father in law who doesn't seem to like you (the son) at all. I make the movie sound like it has depth and layers, but believe me, it doesn't. It's just cheezy love in the beginning, and lots of running around holding guns like they were on fire. Blah If you really want to watch this, rent it. Don't buy it.
Me and a quite a few of my mates went to watch this film for my friendsbirthday a mix or girls and guys. And we all loved it! The comedy waspretty basic but it still made the whole audience laugh and the twistwas so unexpected!! We were all like, wow. That's good. And the waytension is built up throughout the film is great, the action is goodand I rate the story line. Although there could've been more thingsadded to the film to make it more 'packed' I honestly thought overallit was pretty decent and i would definitely be adding it to my DVDcollection! I could watch it over and over again.Ashton and Katherinemake a great on screen pair who kept me laughing all the way through! Irecommend you see this film if you are big fans of them!
Let's start of with saying that Robert Luketic knows how to direct, thepace in the movie is good, he never takes this film to serious and heknow how to film a couple of good scenes.Katherine Heigl has shown to us that she can be funny in comedies, check the ugly truth if you need proof. Ashton Kutcher however.. is notgood. Which hurts the film because he's the leading man in this film. They've made better actors then him do straight to DVD films.I don't want to spoil much about the movie, however the trailerpractically tells the whole story and shows some of the best bits ofthe film. But the pace is good, sometimes it's funny and the action wasgood. But it has all been done before and in better films. So it's not rubbish, but it's not good either. I recommend you waituntil it's released on DVD and hope that Knight and day will be better.
Remember Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Mr. and Mrs. Smith? Well, let's just say the "creator" (mastermind of) this movie saw that film, became a bit "too excited" and thought to himself: 'you know what? im gonna make something JUST LIKE THIS, except it's gonna be lamer, with less suspense, action and witty comments". Don't get this wrong, Mr/Mrs. Smith was bad enough - but this wanna-be is a horrible movie inspired directly from that. Don't waste your money on this. Have a Wendy's meal instead and enjoy the food.
This could've been a great movie. It was really boring up until thehour mark. Then you see some life into this movie. Other than that youget to see them in their pretty mundane suburban. What I am moreinterested in is DID ASHTON KUTCHER ALWAYS HAD A BODY LIKE THAT? I meanI was pretty surprise to see what was there when he was exposed. Thismovie is the Bourne identity, mixed with one of Katherine Heigel'smovie mixed with a pile of crap. But anyways I wonder if Ashton Kutcherworked out for this role? I mean I remember him when he was KELSO, Iwouldn't think he would looked so buff in this movie. And then you haveKatherine Heigel's character, she was confusing. Very unstableemotionally. Ashton Kutcher's character was pretty dull, I didn't knowif he was being serious or if he was just constipated. The fightingscenes were horrible, I mean looking at Ashton Kutcher's physique inthis movie, I would think you would put him in better fight scenes. Ifhe was some sort of an assassin you would think he would know some sortof martial arts. But he got his ass kicked by a fat dude from STEP-BROSand some skinny little girl in the movie. I didn't know if this wassuppose to be a comedy or an action. This movie makes it difficult forme to tell. You also have Ms Swan with a gun, it's pretty difficult Ididn't find any parts funny. Ashton Kutcher didn't do his physicalcomedy in this movie at ALL! AT ALL!!
Bland spy rom-com mines violence, stereotypes for laughs.
Luketic and Heigl are totes besties when it comes to setting women back half a century, to the time when women were believed to be nothing more than adorable children and that's the way it should be.
The word that came to my mind after seeing, Killers, is flat. Icouldn't quite figure whether this film was made to elicit laughs orkeep the audience in suspense. The shift from lighthearted moments tolife and death scenes and vice versa were too abrupt. Killers alsostruck me as a lame attempt to ape a James Bond film. Ashton Kutcherand Katherine Heigl seemed to come straight off a magazine cover, niceand glossy but flat. It was difficult to relate to them in any manner. There are times in the film when I had to exert some effort to preventmy mind from drifting elsewhere. The premise, storyline and casting ofthis film simply do not work.
This was the first time I remember leaving the theater early not because I had to pee, but because the movie just plain sucked. Amazingly, Katherine Heigl almost managed to make the mundane comedy lines somewhat bareable, but even her cute mannerisms did not excuse the absolute awkwardness and horrible comic timing of whoever wrote the script for this film. Trust me, this is not worth the two hours of your time.
IT Disguusts me to even address how awful this movie is, It was proobably made in one day!!! This is garbage!!!
