What Happened To the Last Reel?

We have loved all of Parker,s written and filmed product sinceday one and feel the same about Tom Selleck. But even withtoday's filmaker's penchant for abrupt, enigmatic endings, this one left us slack jawed! Tom, old friend, did you run outof money of film. Please say you will finish the story inanother episode.

Excellent

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) Tom Selleck found his nitch with the Jesse Stone movies. All the actors are excellent and the story lines are so good, you never want them to end. Even with the death of author Robert Parker, they have found writers who keep the characters true to what Mr. Parker originally intended.

The best Jesse Stone So Far

We thought that Jesse Stone No Remorse was excellent. Tom Selleck is athis best playing Jesse and he is as handsome as ever!!! We were alittle frustrated at the ending but will just have to wait untilInnocents Lost airs. Jesse is very methodical in looking at crime scenevideos and he is very adept at recreating the actual crime scenes. Ilove the way he interacts with Rose. Maybe in the next instalment,Innocents Lost, he will become involved with Rose, and forget about hisex. Hopefully, at the hearing, Jesse, Rose and Luthor will bereinstated. The casting of William Sadler as Gino is great. I rememberhim from Die Hard 2 but in Jesse Stone he is perfect in the part. Hestill looks to be in great shape. Can't wait for the next Jesse Stone.

Good enough and keep em coming, unanswered questions ending though

Actually, I can't remember what channel these were originally airing on, I always missed them or saw small parts of the other movies, but a store recently had four of the these movies, except they didn't have "Stone Cold", nor the latest, this one of "No Remorse", so after already buying the prequel at a garage sale for a buck fifty just by chance last month, I got three more for buy 2 get one free, $9.99 movies of what I didn't have, so I am doing good in saving money on these. Oh, I have always liked Tom Selleck acting, and the movies are pretty much okay in my book, and I just rented "No Remorse" and plan on adding it to my collection later, though missing "Stone Cold", which I'll get soon, and this one when it goes down in price.Of course, there is the interesting "ending" which sort of leads into either next years film , one can only guess what will happen next movie, I mean, ha, there better be more. My only thing I knew was "off" on all these movies, is that there is no way in heck that a place like Paradise exists somewhere on the coast near Boston, probably nowhere in Massachussetts coastline, maybe in Maine maybe, would have been correct in a few places on the Oregon coast. But who really cares, its just entertainment, made for t.v. entertainment, and good wholesome fun and mystery/intrigue. There is some excellent acting in this movie, I mean real pro's who know how to get the audience involved, or at least thinking instead of vegetating.

Not as good as the first five

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) OK, you have to get it to complete the set, but this one left me a bit cold, and at $16.00, you want your money back (or at least half of it). This was an obvious try at weaning everyone off of Jesse Stone as there is no place to go from this point.I would wait for a price drop on this one.

Enjoying Tom Selleck

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) Another Great Tom Selleck Movie. Jesse Stone once again is butting heads with Paradise city council and helping his friend, Captain Healy in Boston.Suitcase is now acting police chief of Paradise. Rose and Suitcase are the only two working at PPD.Captain Healy is still recovering from the injuries he sustained in "Jesse Stone: Thin Ice". Great series of movies. I can hardly wait to see more.

More Tom Selleck, Please

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) The Jesse Stone movies are terrific. Can't wait until the next one airs in May. Tom Selleck is very good in the role of Jesse Stone; very believable, but with a sense of fun. Wow.

A big let down

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) I'm a huge fan of this series having watched the previous 5 Jesses Stone movies several times. I've always liked Selleck and think this is his best role ever. Having said all that, the 6th movie in the series is a huge let down from the previous 5 ,in my view. First without spoiling anything a character from one of the previous films returns in this one on parole after comitting a crime that should have kept them in prison for 10 years at least! Then, their's Tom Selleck spending most of the movie disheveled, depressed, bordering on 'whimpy' cause he's on administrative leave from his job as Chief of Paradise PD. In the first 5 films he's the perfect balance of tough, independent, caring, but flawed while here he's almost painful to watch having totally lost his 'mojo'. In addition the other two cops in Paradise played by Kathy Baker (the series really misses Viola Davis by the way) and Kohl Suddeth have lost the 'grit' they had in the previous films too. This installment isn't a total loss. The great William Sadler is back as gangster 'Gino Fish' and when Tom Selleck goes to him to investigate a crime/murder their interaction is the best part of the film. The case with Gino concludes with an ending that is shocking--but satifying. The other story thread about a crime closer to Paradise is just 'ok' and needed more work. And one final thing; I found the ending totally unsatifying apart from the fact that they obviously can't leave the series as it is so at least one more Jesse Stone would have to be coming I would imagine. Will I watch another film if they make one? Absolutely! This was a subpar effort but overall this series is one of my very favorite "cop shows, for grown-ups" as I like to call it.

remorse needed

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) I love this series. I picked up the first one in a grocery store, expecting nothing, and got a great story (by robert parker) and great acting by tom selleck. I wanted to write him a thank you note about his great performance, something I never do, but could not find where to write........Supporting cast are uniformly fine and soon I had all the DVDs, a book or two. All great stuff, some a bit better than the rest..... Then along comes "No Remorse," and I have none, but it is not as good as the others...Material repetitive, less humor, some characters drop in and out with no development, and, all in all, lacking the fine stuff that came before. If, like me, you loved the old stuff, you will need to see this one too, just in case they make another, but come expecting less, and maybe two glasses of scotch to get all the way done......Remember Jaws II and Caddyshack II, it's much better than those....

Love the Jesse Stone Mvovies

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) Tom Selleck returns again in the latest episode of Jesse Stone. While this episode doesn't have some of the subtle humor of previous episodes, it is well written, well acted, and moves the story forward towards.....All in All it is an excellent buy

Excellent

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) Thought this movie was the best. It moved along and there was more action and interaction between all of the folks. Jesse did not just sit with a drink all the time looking at the floor. Did not like the ending. Wish they had not left me hanging.

Script Remorse!

Just watched this DVD. I love Jesse Stone movies, but the script of this one was very lame. Every Jesse Stone characteristic and saying from all the other movies that had been established was brought up in this movie--and done so in a very obvious way. Sissy offers herself again to Jesse. Hasty's tie lights up. Jesse is drinking and everybody's concerned. Jen calls, and Jesse and she have the exact same conversation you've seen in all the other movies, etc., etc. Jesse goes to his shrink and they talk about drinking....again. The conversations in the first part of the movie are very mechanical. The last third of the movie flows much better. If you are a Jesse Stone fan as I am (I own all the other movies) I would encourage you to rent this one, but not purchase it. I'm not sure you can take this one twice!

another good one

Many familiar faces show up in this installment, reminding the viewer how much ground has been covered in the series. There're several powerful scenes, 3D/likable characters, and great acting, Tom Selleck's perfect, and Robert Harmon does another great job directing. These movies have a low-key, subtle, understated way about them, the acting, the music, the dialogue etc. are almost minimalistic, which in turn amplifies the crimes and faster paced scenes throughout. Also recommended, Ike-countdown to D-day, with Selleck and Harmon.

Wanting more

This review is from: Jesse Stone: No Remorse (DVD) Have all six episodes. Hope there will be more. Tom Selleck is probably the only one who can do the Jesse Stone character right. The plot keeps you guessing the ending. You end up wrong.

Another great entry

Another great entry into the Jesse Stone series. The movie has the same measured pace, deep storyline and fine acting by Tom Selleck and his supporting cast. These movies are something you just don't see enough of anymore; adult, character-driven made for TV movies.
