Ouch

The plot of romantic comedies are never their strong suit but thismovie didn't offer a single interesting or creative approach to thetired old formula (boy-meets-girl, boy-gets-girl, happy-couple-time,trouble-in-paradise, break-up to make-up, airport scene). Most romanticcomedies work because the characters can be identified with and viewerscare about them enough to look past the poor plot. Throw in some funnylines and comedy and your movie "works". This movie isn't funny and themain character isn't well written. Seems to be an emotional and mental12 year old in a grown man's body. The acting doesn't help either.All in all the movie was so bad that I lost interest in the charactersand the story. I spend my time getting frustrated over the very verypoor focusing of the camera. A shallow depth of field with charactersapparently moving so fast that the focus can't follow. Dialogues wherethe focus can't keep track with the character that is talking. Beforethe person who's talking is in focus, the next guy is already talking.Scenes where the focus between different takes is obviously not thesame (Somerhalder in the Italian restaurant scene). One shot of thescene is sharp, the next shot is soft. When they're on the beach Ispent my time looking into the reflection of Byrd's sunglasses where Icould clearly see the guy holding the reflector. That is some reallyhorrible stuff.

Gets on my nerves

I just finished watching the movie, but it only got on my nerves. Theremight have been a good plot there somewhere, but the acting just wasn'tgenuine and the characters not believable at all. It doesn't have to be exaggerated to make it funny; genuine, believablecharacters with their quirks can make a movie very amusing, but thisgeneral helplessness and the characters' constant shifting in theirdecisions was neither believable nor enjoyable. The only clever and entertaining part in my opinion were thesplit-screen discussions about how to please a woman, for that themovie gets a 2 from me.

Very funny film!

I just saw this movie at a college screening and it was very funny. Igive this film two thumbs up! The film is essentially about theuniversal miscommunication between the sexes. Make no mistake: the filmhas its raunchyover the top moments,but they are authentic and hilarious, and thepacing is quite strong. Ken Jeong and Ian Sommerhalder were perfectlycast in their respective roles. James Kyson Lee has a nice comedic turnin his role. And Jenna Jameson did a surprisingly good job playing it"straight" in her cameo role. I felt that the ending had a coupleinteresting twists that kept me engaged until the credits finallyrolled, and the outtakes were definitely icing on the cake. You have tosee Andrew Volpe's character here! Kudos to the filmmakers – this one'sa winner!

Great Date Flick!

What a cool film - one of the best romantic comedies I've seen in years. Its basically a story about one couple's journey to understand what each other needs in a relationship, and the quirky turns they go through to get to the truth. I loved Josh Meyers in the lead male role, and Kristen Ritter really showed her dramatic muscle as his girlfriend. And there was solid chemistry between them both, which made the story all the more credible. Oh, and let's not forget Ken Jeong and Jenna Jameson's characters - off the charts funny! Great date movie!

Unfunny

People who don't have the slightest idea of what comedy is shouldn'tcall what ever movie they make to be funny. "How To Make Love To aWoman" is anything but funny, its boring and awful. the story is so oldand feels like the writer just copied bits from other successfulcomedies. The acting in this movie can be compared to actors whoperform in soft-core porn movies, imitating copied dialogues, trying tobe funny and instead making a complete fool out of themselves. so ifone day you are having a normal day and want to know what it feels likeif you slam your head in the wall for more than one hour than please goand watch this movie.

should be voted worst movie

Very slow, the whole movie was boring - the airport scene has been doneso many times and most of the movie was like watching a boringdocumentary with people just talking - you'd get more fun out ofwatching popcorn seed popping in the microwave.On the whole its a movie about a young guy in love with his girlfriendand he's not good in bed which he finds out much later (um! how doesthat happen any way - oh wait that's it, the girlfriend never tells himand let's him think he's good without showing it or making any of thosesound effects) He starts asking friends etc for help - kill me now I'mbored just writing this - she sees another guy, he's upset tells heroff - she goes to the airport .....he cry's etc etc

Terrible

Ignore the two glowing reviews from studio plants. This movie ishorrible. It isn't funny or provocative, just boring and predictable.Josh Meyers isn't funny. Kristen Ritter is hot but not funny. IanSomerhalder is some sort of masturbatory fantasy for the gay and catlady community. He also isn't funny. I've never seem Lindsay Richards in anything, but she is pretty hot,and from Texas. But not funny. So to recap, this movie is not funny orentertaining. So if you are looking to spend more than an hour notlaughing at something, this is for you. If you have lost your cable orsatellite feeds and are tired of watching static, this movie is foryou.

A sweet candy with a hard center

The title, poster and young cast obviously point to a chick-flick so Iwas surprised to read all the "disappointed" reviews. The first tworeviews in my opinion might be a bit exaggerated but nevertheless Ienjoyed this movie very much. It is a light-hearted, sweet, romanticcomedy you would enjoy watching at home. To be exact I would say it isa quite serious content, covered by a very sweet shell and wrapped in avery silly wrapping. Regardless of how experienced you might think youare, I recommend this movie to ALL the guys. Krysten Ritter is justadorable and a pleasure to watch. Plenty of hot and caring guys to makethe girls sigh too. Fast pace, plenty of sizzling scenes, few funnyjokes thrown here and there - what else could you ask for? Perhaps abit predictable, perhaps a little silly - but to a huge extent verytrue to life.

Disappointing

First of all, I have to admit that I watched the movie for IanSomerholder. But after watching the movie, I felt like I have to warnthe lucky people who didn't watch this yet. The plot is interesting initself, before it was made this movie actually. For starters, KrystenRitter is really boring. And when I say boring, I mean it. You neversee the emotions. All the ups and downs the character goes through,nothing. Second, Josh Meyers. Again, no acting at all. The only goodacting, in my opinion comes from Eugene Byrd and Ian Somerholder, butto admit I am biased about Somerholder, and Byrd was not extraordinary,he was just the stereotype (at least at the beginning) And since Iwasted a good amount of time watching this movie and watched IanSomerholder for about 5 min. I am very very disappointed.

Disgusting cliché!

This movie was too awful that i felt compelled to warn my fellow humanbeings to STAY AWAY from such a disaster. Let me put it this way, ifyou ever want to upset your partner using a movie, this is the moviefor you. The cast is a D-list ensemble cast and the script honestlyreminds me of my middle school creative writing class. It is completelycliché with the split screen "mokumentary" been the only mediocreaspect of the movie. The lead actor is as believable as my unbornchild. Also, the movie has the tendency to keep you frowning as it wenton. The characters' indecisiveness is simply annoying.In general, theonly reason you should watch this movie is if your mother's lifedepended on it. Credit nevertheless to Ken Jeong, his style of comedynever goes wrong.

Hilarious movie!

I caught this at a film festival in LA and was so surprised at how funny it was! I love Ken Jeong from The Hangover, and he did not disappoint! Krysten Ritter was also really great. This would be a fun movie to watch with a date!

Good lesson to men

In a nutshell this movie is just trying to tell men that most women need to be turned on in their minds before the bodies; and their probably goin to need what and where the clitoris is....lol.

Worth a watch

I watched this last night and laughed through most of the movie. I say "most" because there are some serious moments. Josh Meyer is definately an underappreciated actor and they justify this fact in the "behind the scenes". This is another pearl of this movie. The extra features are excellent. Cameos by up and coming music artists in the movie are well acted as well and will surprise you when you find out who they are. One example is Ronnie Winter. I kept telling myself, " I know that name. Where do I know it?" He is from Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. They did that song, "Face down". One of the funniest cameos is by Jenna Jameson. It was a short cameo but I kept laughing at her performance and additional interview in the extras menu.Just look at the stars on the cover and you can see how good it can be.The only negative is the rare moments in serious scenes where the tempo kind of drags you down. Also, the awful clothing design. I kept saying, "What are they wearing and who needs to get fired?" The attempts to be trendy just came off as poor fashion sense. Well worth the watch though since fashion sense is a very small negative.

Very Funny!

After I saw this movie at a screening, I literally told all of my friends about this movie. I can't wait for all of them to see it! The actors are so funny, you'll nearly pee yourself. Don't let "romantic comedy" throw you off, it's for sure NOT a chick flick! Hey boys, wanna learn How to REALLY Make Love To A Woman? This movie has all of the answers you need :-) Already pre-ordered it to put in my comedy collection!

Josh Meyers is HILARIOUS!!

I never thought of Josh Meyers as a "lead role" kind of guy, but this movie definitely proves he can pull it off. The scene with his little brother made me laugh and feel very uncomfortable at the same time...very fuuny! I'm telling all my friends to buy this movie.

Can I make love to that woman

In the realm of date movies and sex comedies I think this flick has a place. First off I think it merges the two concepts. It is a date movie with with sex comedy jokes. Krysten Ritter is hot and solid in the show, the supporting characters are funny and the music is decent. The dinner table scene with the family is a gut splitter and who would like to get sex advice from Jenna Jameson.

Couldn't get past minute 10

Oh my. This movie is so stale I felt compelled to register so I couldpost a warning to anyone above an 85 IQ. Cliché, another cliché, yetanother cliché. The best part was the somewhat clever opening creditsscore. Most comedies open with something funny. This is the one clichéthe movie left out! If you like watching average comedians performbelow average, this is your movie. That's all to say but I cannot postwithout ten lines. So don't read anymore, I'm just trying to make it toten lines because spending any more time writing about this awful andinsulting movie is a waste of my time at this point. I hope that's atleast ten lines.

GUILTY "I't's OK" ... because of Ian and Jenna....

Movie was not as great as the Independent Film "Wake" and I was a bit disappointed as there were 5-star reviews I read b-4 it's release.Did not like the story-line between Andy and Lauren..they diden't seem 'connected' as a couple and Andy was an ugly, temper-tantrum- throwing, forgetfull, self-absorbed impish guy that was obvilious for a YEAR that he was not 'driving it home' during sex for Lauren! What WAS the basis of their relationship?Not 'hysterical' in my opinion -I do LOVE Ian Somerhalder and Jenna Jameson! You can't go wrong w/those two:) - They both were great at playing their role's....just the whole storyline and acting around them I personally cannot say was 'great' for me.

Not a believable couple and the guy had the temper of a 10 year old. It was hard to watch or even want the guy to win the girl. Her character was a bit unconvincing as well, not the acting...but the character.
