best Olsen twin movie

My kids thought this was the best movie by the Olsen twins, and so didI. ("Little Rascals" is not really an Olsen twin movie, and we didn'tlike "It Takes Two" as well.) Its plot is predictable but plausible,with a touch of mystery and suspense. Martin Mull gives a fineperformance as the bad guy. The western scenery is excellent:production values seem higher than most made-for-TV movies. I thinkthis is as good as many higher-rated IMDb movies, but it lacks drug oralcohol references, so I guess many pseudo-adults can't appreciate it.One funny part is the way George (Ben Cardinal), a native American /Indian, keeps arriving everywhere via mountain bike before the horsesdo.

This review is from: How the West Was Fun (DVD) My 6 year old grandaughter loves this movie. We've watched it at least a zillion time and she still loves it. Too bad the girls had to grow up. We'll be buying more of their movies.

Good for kids

I remember when this was on (it's been almost 10 years I can't believeit!)and my sister and I watched this quite often. I thought it was reallygood.When I look back on it, it wasn't that great of a movie, but kids mostdefinately will enjoy it. It was made for kids.

A summary

i didn't like the movie at all although I am trying to figure out thename of the song at the end.I thought it was cowgirl wannabe or something like that but yeah whatis it? i need help....the song was better than the whole movie! Lets make a movie aboutlittle girls going to a dude ranch to save it and find FAKE gold!.. its so re-tarted.. i hated it. i seriously don't understand why theymade the movie. i first saw it and fell asleep!yeah Mary-Kate and Ashley were cute on full house but there was nopoint in making this movie or any of their other ones!

The Best Out Of The West!

The movie is really good. I hate what people said about this item! The twins did a great job acting! I dont think of this movie as a "Total Bore" at all! If you haven't seen this movie and think that it's going to be bad RENT IT first!

two little girls find out about there mother when she was a kid, and save the ranch from closing down,thanks to there mothers old diary!

This movie is brilliant. Mary-Kate and Ashley are so cute. If anyonesay's this film is bad, they're wrong. this is definitely one for thekiddies to watch because i'm not sure if you adults will appreciate theplot of this movie. this is an excellent movie. Anyone who watches thiswill be moved by the thrilling story line of this movie. It's about twolittle girls who are asked that there mother comes to the ranch to tryand save it, but there mother dyed a few years ago, so they go instead.they find there mothers diary in a hut that she made the last time shewas there,then they save the ranch from being closed down by Bart. Bartwants to close down the ranch and make it into a theme park, but thegirls manage to stop him. Please watch this film it is REALLYGOOD!!!!!!

Come on, the Osmonds could have done better

I hate this film, anybody with any wit and personality wouldn't be caught dead watching this embarrasment to cinema. And the knock off of "How the West was Won" truly made me upset

Great for kids.

This movie is great for girls when they are 10 and under which is agood thing because thats who it was originally meant for anyway.Although once your kids get older and they watch it .. it'll just belike everything else they used to love watching when they were youngsuch as Barney or Zoom. Point in fact is that you'll only like it ifyour a 10 year old girl or younger. The action, suspense, drama, andcomedy is all aimed for kids not adults or teens. I still find itamusing though but thats probley only because My sister and i use tolove it when we were kids.anyway i give it a 7/10.

This review is from: How the West Was Fun (DVD) I only bought this movie because I admire Patrick Cassidy's work. He did a good job in film, despite a weird helmet hair type thing going on that I had a hard time keeping my eyes of off. The two young stars (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen)soundered labored. The twins were supposed to be nine years old but they looked and acted more like four. The other actors did their best, but with very little action there was just no saving this film. Patrick Cassidy and the Olsen twins live the big city. The twins mother has died and they've grown up quickly being a team with Daddy. They get a letter from their mother's aunt asking them to help save the ranch she's lived on for years. Mother used to tell them about that place! So off they go and too long, too boring story short, they save the ranch. Very little action and that doesn't come until the end of the movie and even then it isn't what should be considered real action.My nieces 4,5, and 7, stopped watching after less than a minute.

THEY FIND THEIR MOTHERS SECRETS HALF OF AN OWL AND BEAR AND READ HER DIARY. NATTY`S SON BART WANTS TO MAKE THE RANCH INTO A THEME PARK CALLED GIFOOLEY LAND. WHEN THEY GO LOOKING FOR GOLD THEY FIND THE OTHER HALF OF THE BEAR AND THE OWL.THEY SAVED THE RANCH FROM BART GIFOOLY AND THEY FOUND THE HORSE LIGHTNING THEIR MOMS HORSE. YOU SHOULD SEE IT ITS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES!

Not as good

My Great grandaughter 5 watched this with breaks in between which tells me there were parts that did not hold her attention and I would agree,it is slow in parts but for die-hard Ashley fans probably no problem.

a very good Olsen movie

A very enjoyable Olsen movie with a good storyline and characters. 8-year-olds Jessica and Susie talk their single father into taking a visit with them to a dude ranch, upon the request of their grandmother Nattie. When the girls learn that Nattie's cold and selfish son Bart plans on turning the place into a theme park, it's up to them to save the ranch. It's a very heartwarming and entertaining movie that captures the girls at some of their best acting years.

I remember watching this movie when i was just a little girl. I have always loved this movie. I also found it hard to find. Untill i found Amazon. I loved it good familly and kids movie and really great quality.

Awesome Tweens Scene

The show was wonderful I love when they put music in the show. I didn't know much about the cast but the show alone was fabulous.

Touching and magical

This is a true American classic....to me it ranks right up there with 3 men and a baby, and Freaky FRiday ( the shelley Long version). mary-kate and ashley are both extremely talented and make you feel their emotions...they do not hold back at all in their performances....martin mull is amazing as Bart " the fink "...at times I almost felt bad for him.....the scene in the raft was exciting fun that kept me on the edge of mu seat.... This movie is great enough to get me to put down an Ann M. Martin book. I recommend it for any true cinema fan.

How the West was Fun

This is a very loveable family video, the olsens in their younger years, as some may think were their best years!As in the UK we cannot purchase this video i bought over amazon from aamerica, and am i glad!Its beyond brilliant! Even the olsen's younger sibling Lizzie olsen has got a small part in this! As the olsens help fight the battle of saving their godmother Nattys Ranch, they meet new people and discover more about thier dead mother! They have to work their little brains to the max in order to beat Nattys son bart and stop the ranch becoming a thempark!Can they do it? Watch this and you will find out, you WONT be dissapointed!
