On Halloween in 1963, Michael Myers murdered his sister, Judith. In 1978, he broke out to kill his other sister, Laurie Strode. He killed all of her friends, but she escaped. A few years later, she faked her death so he couldnt find her. But now, in 1998, Michael has returned and found all the papers he needs to find her. He tracks her down to a private school where she has gone under a new name with her son, John. And now, Laurie must do what she should have done a long time ago and finally decided to hunt down the evil one last time.

We have taken some photos of "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later". They represent actual movie quality.
A great movie. That about sums up all there is to say about H20.It has thrills, laughs, links to a golden past(halloween) and a lot of that mid/late 90's slasher movie power in it.Further more i'd like to point out that this is the decade's true alternative to the Scream films.Scream still rules but H20 is as close to it as it gets.Go buy it!
Halloween H2O is 1 of the 1st halloween'''s i've see this movie is a must need ! it's totally awesome Jamie Lee Curtis (Prom Night) is still very pretty and very Talented SHe is very good actress in halloween 1and 2 and Josh Hartnett (THE FACULTY) is a very good actor AND HE PLAY''S Laurie''s son. the acting in this movie is niceley done and VERY COOL (THIS MOVIE IS KIND OF GORY)
For me, this was a knock-out hit in the Halloween franchise. I lovedhow well they established their character's personalities, and theywere able to bring back, not outdo of course, their scare factor thatthey had in the first. It still got a little uninteresting and somewhatboring at times, and there were some lame scares every now and then, but this movie delivered in the entertainment and constructiondepartment WONDERFULLY. I especially loved the crisp and cunningchase/struggle for survival scenes throughout the movie, even though ofcourse they weren't the best I've seen of course. Overall everyone didan excellent job on this sequel, and it was probably my favorite sequelso far. Two thumbs up for Halloween H20!
this was a great movie, i was up north visiting middle of nowhere and itravelled 45 minutes to see it!. it should of been about 2 hours and 20 minutes, oh well.
I thought that the film was excellent, stunning and scary!! That person from Brett Bishop Roy, Utah is wrong!!!!! This movie was neat and Jamie Lee Curtis made an Oscar wurthy performance! I own the movie so I have probobly seen it 34 times! Michelle Williams and Josh Harett gave an excellent performance too! I have seen all the Halloween's and I think "H20", 2 and 6 were the best!!! If I were incharge if movies, I would vote this "Best film of the year!" And that bitch that I mentioned earlier, I thought that all the movies she thought sucked, were good! I give H20 *****!
Halloween H20 marks the 20th anniversary since Michael Myers first cameto Haddonfield to kill Laurie Strode. Twenty years later,Laurie isstill having nightmares of her brother, has become an alcoholic whichhas affected her ability to be a better mother to her son John brotherof the late Jamie Lloyd. The film has great performances by Adam Arkinwho plays Laurie's loving boyfriend Will who seems to realize thatLaurie may be hiding something of her past. Michelle Williams is alsogreat as John's girlfriend Molly Cartwell who learns of John's maniacuncle. Nancy Stephens also returns in a cameo appearance as MarionChambers the nurse of the late Sam Loomis who kept Laurie's identity asecret and is killed by Michael. I like the film finally has Laurieconfront her demons to face her brother in the ultimate showdown. Ithink H20 is final chapter, and fans should disregard the disastrousHalloween Resurrection.
Halloween H20After the rather dismal Halloween II, I was wary about going to seeHalloween H20 but it turned out to be a much better film than Iexpected and the perfect wrap up for a trilogy.Halloween H20 takes a good route in which it ignore's part's 4-6 whichwere terrible films. Instead it continues twenty years later after thefirst two films in which Michael Myers thought to be dead in a fire hasreturned for his sister Laurie Strode who has been in hiding for allthis time. She has a seemingly perfect life with an intelligent son anda dedicated boyfriend, a great career as the headmistress at a privateboarding school in Northern California; however she is far from happy. The tragic events from 20 years previous still haunt her mind, andstrongly take effect on her parental capabilities. To everyone, this is"just another Halloween", however Laurie still lives in constant fear. But Michael has returned and tracked her sister down and starts killingher co-workers and students one by one. And for the first time in twodecades, they meet again. Laurie manages to escape, but instead ofleaving, she chooses to to back, in an attempt to restore her life, tothe school to challenge Michael in a fight to the death. She finds himand attempts killing him several times. She manages to push him off abalcony, causing him to fall to his "death", similar to the first film.As the police load up Michael in a body bag and put him into acoroner's van, Laurie steals the van and drives off into the nightwhere Michael still alive escapes the body bag and lunges for her. Sheslams on the breaks, throwing him through the windshield, sheunsuccessfully tries to run him over and instead tumbles over a cliffbut she manages to escape the van but Michael is pinned to a tree. Hereaches out to her, she reaches for his hand but pulls back rememberingeverything he's done to her; she chops his head off with an axe .. theterror finally put to rest. The acting in this film is very good, especially by Jamie Lee Curtiswho delivers a powerful performance as the tortured Laurie Strode, JoshHartnett gives a strong performance in his debut film and Adam Arkinplays a good all round nice guy role. The film keeps the suspense ofthe first film and unlike Halloween II manages to keep a good pace andnot dull down, the plot of this film was simple and worked. The musicin this film is hard to comment on due to a lot of it being screamwhich was a minor thing that bugged me, but the opening Halloween Themewas brilliant and very chilling. The film is a little gorier than the first and second films, butdoesn't go over the top by any means. The biggest highlight of thisfilm was the final confrontation between Laurie and Michael and thechase scene in which Michael eventually comes face to face with hersister for the first time in twenty years. To sum it up, I suggest if you have seen the first two films then seethis film as it is a good horror film in itself and a perfect end for atrilogy.
The majority of influential movies receive a special anniversaryDVD-edition when they turn 20 years old, but John Carpenter's"Halloween" got rewarded with a complete sequel in which the originalheroine Jamie Lee Curtis returns as the character that made her famous. But the real guest of honor at this party is, of course, good oldwhite-masked Michael Myers, who's still surprisingly brisk and swingshis butcher knife around as energetic as he did two decades earlier. The boys who came up with the idea of making this belated sequel werequite clever, since the 'slasher' was hugely popular in 1998 (thanks toWes Craven's "Scream") and it was a matter of course that theresurrection of the legendary Michael Myers would become a big hit.Still, I'm not complaining because I honestly feared that the resultwould be a lot worse. As expected, the script pretends that all theother sequels were never made and picks up right on the events afterHalloween II. The first half of the film is very dull and unpromisingbecause the writers found it necessary to supply Curtis' character witha whole complex background. Supposedly, she moved from Illinois toCalifornia and changed her identity, and now she's the headmistress ofa fancy school where also her 17-year-old son attends classes. She's analcoholic an overly protective mother, constantly living with the fearthat her brother will come back This whole background situation isquite a contrast with Carpenter's original, as the character drawingsthere were very limited. Halfway in the film, however, director SteveMiner seems to realize that "Halloween" isn't at all about emotions anddrivel but about slashing, and so the action-packed and exciting finalesaves the entire movie. Michael commits some very nasty murders andCurtis picks up her old scream queen reputation. The actingperformances are very good, even though the casting LL Cool J and JanetLeigh were totally redundant. Good fun and nice reworking of JohnCarpenter's original score, by the way.
I have seen all the Halloween movies but,I think that the collection chould go on. As in make a 7th movie after H20 and even make a 8th movie to. I also think that they should take place in Haddonfield where the first 5 movies took place. I would look forward to see more adventures of the crazed Michael Myers. But out of all of the movies H20 was the best.
It seems sad that it is an unwritten rule that all horror sequels are not apatch on the originals, Even one of the best movies of the decade "Scream"sadly followed this rule. H20 thankfully didn't, it was a brilliant moviefull of original scary death scenes and a decent storyline. Even the introsequence was amazing, pity Drew Barrymore wasn't in it. Jamie Lee Curtis wasrealistic as the paranoid traumatised star and put Michelle Williams(Mmmmmm)was the icing on the cake
I really enjoyed this! I liked how they were getting Scream back for all of the little references they put into the movie, they even get Scream back for the "Go to the Mackenzies" reference by saying "Go to the Beckers" (Casey Becker being the girl who got killed in the opening sequence of Scream) This movie was great, even though there were some holes in the plot it still was enjoyable.
Okay, alright, that's not the first and original Halloween, the director isn't John Carpenter, is Steve Miner, ok, ok. But, god, what the hell, it's Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, together for a last revenge after long twenty years ! Jamie Lee Curtis still made a wonderful job, as a very beautiful and intelligent Laurie Strode and Michael Myers still very cruel ( not scary ). And there's the ultimate scene where mother meets daughter : Janet Leigh, Marion Crane from Psycho with Jamie Lee Curtis from the original Halloween. Can you handle that ? And after all, Janet says : "Let me be a little maternal for a moment..."
halloween h20 is the worst halloween sequel to date(i don't even regardhalloween III as part of the series). there are a few simple reasons forthis. A: it completely disregards anything that took place in halloween4,5, and 6. 2: jamie lee curtis (laurie strode) is alive despite the factthat she was revealed dead in one of the sequels. but i guess that goesalong with point A. which brings me to point D: this is the point thatreally chaps my ass, michael myers does not act like michael myers. one ofthe reviews i read said the director gives him the "freedom" to not actlikea robot anymore. like that is supposed to be a good thing???? that's halfthe evilness of his character, the other half of course being that he hacksinnocent people to death. taking away his patient, uncaring, methodicalwayof destruction is like taking away his mysteriousness. he might as well beanother crazy schmuck off the street the way he was hanging from theraftersand darting his head all around like some SCREAM villain. what did he dotake some gymnastic lessons in the offseason, come on now. michael myersissupposed to walk menacingly while the victims run, and still be aroundeverycorner to surprise them. i felt he was way out of character in this filmand i'm hoping that this was some sort of friday the 13th: a new beginningspoof where it's not really michael doing the killing, and he'll reappearinthe next one up to his old antics. i'm hoping they'll disregard thismovie, much like this one disregarded 4,5,and 6. but i noticed jamie lee is inthenext one, so i'm assuming they're going forward, instead of looking backlike i had hoped. my words of halloween wisdom: michael myers is notmeantto fly around like he's some kid from a scream movie. he is supposed to beEVIL, nothing more, nothing less. don't tarnish his character again, please. my advice to potential viewers: watch this movie just in case ithas something to do with the next one, just don't expect the same michael.
The Halloween franchise is interesting, there have been so many mistakesand bad sequals (Halloween Resurrection being the worst). Myrecommendation is this view Halloween, Halloween 2, and then HalloweenH20 and then stop those are the best this frachise has to offer and as atrilogy they are very enjoyable--ignore all the other Halloween filmsespecially Halloween 3 which is among the worst sequals evermade.........................
This ending of this movie, has to be, THE BEST ENDING I have ever seen, onANY movie. I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was great, as she always is, and allthe other people in the cast were great too... I don't understand why somepeople thought it was horrible..or boring, if this movie was boring to you,I think you have some problems that need to be checked out. It had mejumping at every turn.. ie., the scene at the rest stop..there were a few parts that sort of let me down, but the suspense and JLCmade up for it...i'd give it a 10 out of 10
What was bad about H20? so many people i know have put t down. Its thefirstfilm without dr. Looims, i know, but it has the long awaited return of theoriginal scream queen JAMIE LEE! There was alot of action, some suspenseanda scare or 2. It was over all prety good. I dont know why people hate itsomuch! I give it 7/10. It was a smart move for the series.Jim
Day 27 Of My 31 Days Of Horror.Director Steve Miner gives us a very worthy Halloween Sequel withHalloween H2O 20 Years Later.First a little Background. In 1978 John Carpenter hit it big with hisindependent film with Halloween. But in 1981 we got a sequel that picksup right were the First one left off in Halloween II. Then in 1982 JohnCarpenter wanted to take the series in a different direction and make adifferent Halloween story every movie. With that we have the failedresult known as Halloween III Season Of The Witch. So they decided togo back to the basics and in 1988 we got Halloween 4 The Return OfMichael Myers. After the financial success of Part 4 they wasted notime and a year later in 1989 we got Halloween 5 The Revenge Of MichealMyers. After that no Halloween movie was heard of until in 1995 we gotHalloween The Curse Of Micheal Myers. Box office ran big time with themovie and decided to put the Halloween series to rest for one moremovie and in 1998 we got just that. The film follows Laurie Strode played once again by Jaimee Lee Curtiswho is having nightmares about her serial killer brother Micheal Myers.Since then she has gone into hiding and has changed her name to KarenTate and now has a job teaching at a high school were her son played byJosh Hartnett is enrolled. Her son and 3 of his friends decide to spenda night at the Myers house But Micheal shows up and havoc ensues withLauri helping the kids of course. This is a very good entry in the famous horror series with terrificcast and great scares. Although the film drags on a few spots andMicheal Myers Doesn't really show up until an hour into the film whichis stupid because A, the movie is about him and b, the movie is only1hr 26min. This was supposed to be the final one but for some reason in2002 we Got Halloween Resurrection With Busta Rhymes And Tyra Banks.Sadly(and I am being sarcastic here) I can't review that film because Ishut it off halfway through. Whether It Was for better or for worst youdecide on that one. I recommend this movie( Halloween H20 20 YearsLater) for all horror fans.Rated R For Terror Violence/Gore And Language.1hr 26min/86min.13 uses of the F-word.***/****
After the comeback of the horror genre thanks to the likes of filmssuch as Scream, I know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend it wasof real no surprise that the Halloween films would get another look inand what came of it was a real good Horror/thriller with a good enoughstory to make this one of the better sequels of the franchise.Halloween H20 finds Michael searching for his sister Laurie (Jamie LeeCurtis), problem is that she is dead or is she? Laurie faked her owndeath so that Michael could not find her or her son John (JoshHartnett)Now she is known as Keri Tate and is the principal of aprivate school. Keri continues to have visions and nightmares of herbrother and has started to turn to drink. She is also quite controllingof her son who just wants to break free and become his own man. OnHalloween night Michael returns to find Keri and John and finish offhis bloodline for good, but they're not going to go without a fight! The film i believe was a really good thriller and tried to be more thanjust the typical hack and slash horror affair we've come to know fromlots of horror films which i felt was a breath of fresh air.As ever Jamie Lee Curtis was excellent playing this very scared andtortured woman running from her past that she fears is constantlytrying to catch up to her, she played the character to a top notchperformance. Josh Hartnett is also very good playing Curtis son Johnwho's is forever trying to be a free man from the constant controllinggrasp of his mother. And of course Chris Durrand must get a mention asplaying the part of Michael, i believe he does put in a goodperformance as Michael but i don't think he gives the best performancewe've seen from the guys that portray Michael but it is among one ofthe best. The story is one that is very believable with a few twists and turnsthat just make the film a little more fun. The look of the film is veryclever and very creepy at times and in a suspense picture such as thisyou really need this. The direction is very good from Steve Miner whobrought us Friday the 13th part 2 and 3 who makes his own Halloweenfilm while at the same time reflecting and homaging the original.I only have a couple of gripes with the film, one has to be the endingwhich i felt was a bit out of place from the rest of the film and alsoa little too quick which i felt spoilt it and didn't really round offthe story completely which was a bit of a shame considering the filmhad been so good. The other problem with the film is that it takes sometime for Michael to get to the nitty gritty of killing which in someways isn't bad but in others it gets a little dull when the film iscalled Halloween but there is no boogeyman! Overall i thought that thiswas great film and definitely a great sequel in what was slowlybecoming a very idiotic franchise but thanks to some cleverstorytelling this film manages to bring the franchise back up to awhole new level and a whole new Halloween audience! ******* out of**********
Alright here we go, in 1978 John Carpenter created what is still known asthe most profitable independant film of all time, "HALLOWEEN"(I give it 5stars.). Then in 1981 Carpenter and his partner Moustapha Akkad came up witha slightly better(In my opinion.)sequel, "HALLOWEEN II", which reunited mostof the cast and crew of the original. Then in 1982 Carpenter and Akkaddecieded to drop the Myers story and move on to a new plot in "HALLOWEENIII: SEASON OF THE WITCH", which in my opinion is a classic and veryoriginal. Akkad stole the rights from Carpenter so the series could continue. 1988marked the resurection of the famed psycho in "HALLOWEEN IV: THE RETURN OFMICHAEL MYERS", which was even better than part II and was also #1 at thebox office for a couple weeks. Then in 1989 Akkad released a fifth chapter"HALLOWEEN V: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS", which was panned by critics andthe public, but fans(like myself)loved it. A few years went by and fans waited for the explanation of what happened atthe end of part V. In 1995 Akkad got together with Dimension Films for the6th installment "HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS", again people andcritics were dissapointed, but were happy if they got hold of the uncutversion titled "HALLOWEEN VI: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS", which in myopinion is the best, so far. Finally in 1998 Akkad and Dimension came upwith a 20th anniversary sequel to Carpenter's classic "HALLOWEEN H20: 20YEARS LATER". I liked the fact that Curtis reprised her role as Laurie and I loved thefirst few minutes of the film, but the rest just turned out to be anotherone of the teenie bopper slasher flicks of the 90's like "I KNOW WHAT YOUDID LAST SUMMER"(Which sucked!), with it's teen hearthrobs, and pop musicsoundtract. On top of that, it almost completely ignores parts IV-VI(Notcounting III of course.)Good acting, some suspense, and a shocking ending, but if you loved parts IV-VI, then you can skip this 20th anniversarycelebration. *** out of *****. HALLOWEEN 8 better be good!
This has to be one of the worst Halloween sequels I have ever seen. Why would they have Michael Myers wait 20 years? I mean I think that's a stupid idea (no offense). This movie wasn't that scary, there is only like about two scenes that are scary but the rest of the movie sucks and it's so dumb. I also can't beleive that they are busy making another one and I hope that's the last Halloween movie. But if it is the last Halloween movie please don't make anymore it's getting kind of annoying by the way they are making so many sequels that don't turn out to be good. So if I were you I would stick with the first one don't even bother of renting this movie you'll be disappointed.
