February 19 Episode of Grey's Anatomy

Attn: Writers for Grey's Anatomy. This show is great and I am a loyalviewer. You are obviously talented. However, if George and Meredith areshown together again I will feel inclined to change the station forgood.I feel this was a bad move and that particular clip was unpleasant towatch, let alone even think about-even now, a week later. You know thatthe viewers are fantasizing about Meredith and Derek and both my sisterand I got sick watching that clip. We almost shut it off.We love George, but he doesn't belong with Meredith. He'll only gethurt. Please don't disappoint your loyal viewers and please choose to writecreatively in a different way next time. From what you've written sofar, I know it can only get better. On a more positive note, you chose a great actor for Addison'slover/Derek's former best friend (Mark?). He's hot! I wouldn't mindseeing him again on your show. Gives Derek a little competition! Thankyou for allowing me to comment.Sincerely, Disappointed in Michigan

One of ABC's Best

This show is still rather new, but has been popular from the start.Creator Shonda Rhimes has admitted to being surprised that it was sucha big hit. Currently this show is on Sunday nights at 10:00 Easterntime on ABC following Desperate Housewives. The show stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, a new intern at SeattleGrace Hospital. Meredith's mother was a surgeon legend who is in theearly stages of Alzheimers. Her mother wanted to keep the fact asecret, but early on in the show her mother is rushed to the hospitaland all whom she knows discovers the truth. Meredith's fellow internsare Christina Yang(Sandra Oh), Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl), GeorgeO'Mally(TR Knight), and Alex Karev(Justin Chambers).Christina is rather uptight and very driven, shes always competing forthe best surgery, she also is dating Dr.Preston Burke (IsaiahWashington) an attending surgeon at Seattle Grace. Izzie comes from atrailer park, had a daughter at age sixteen whom she gave up foradoption, and worked as a model to pay her way through medical school. She's very peppy, had a thing with Alex, and its quite possible for thecreators to decide to start their 'thing' back up again.George O'Mally is your typical shy awkward 'best friend but never more'kind of guy. He lives with Izzie and Meredith in Meredith's mothershouse. At the beginning of the show many thinks he's gay, but thatquickly is proved wrong when all (but Meredith) realize that he's madlyin love Meredith. Not much is known about Alex. He's disliked by mostof his fellow interns, and can be quite a jerk. However, from time totime you see a softer sweeter side of him. He's a very complexcharacter and adds a lot to the show.A very important character on the show is Dr. Derek Shepard(PatrickDempsey) although hes more commonly known as McDreamy. He's seen in thevery first moments of the show where its made apparent that he andMeredith are waking up from a one night stand. Right then you can tellthats not the last you'll be seeing of them. Of course, he turns out tobe Meredith's new boss. They flirt for a couple of episodes and start arocky relationship. At the end of Season One its discovered that he hasa wife. It turns out that she cheated on him with his best friend andafter discovering that he fled to Seattle. Dr. Addison Shephard (KateWalsh) is not a popular character. Currently a series regular, most ofGrey's Anatomy's fans want her gone. Early in the second season Derekwas forced to choose between Addison and Meredith. While he admitted hestill loved Meredith, he decided to give his marriage a second chance.Needless to say, Meredith was heartbroken. Also on the show are the Chief of Surgery Richard Webber(James PickensJr) and Dr Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson). Bailey is the resident forthe interns on the show, she's nicknamed the "Nazi". She's strict butlovable, and adds a lot to the show. Chandra Wilson does magnificentjob playing the character. The center of the show is not the medical cases but the relationshipsbetween the characters. Admittedly the show is similar to a soap opera, but its ten times better. Make sure to tune in, because you wont regretit!

Grey's Anatomy sound mixing

The voice/sound track levels are totally out of whack on this otherwisesuperb series. It ruins the whole experience! Why is it that the soundmixing team insists on raising the levels of the musical soundtrack sohigh that it drowns out the scriptwriters' jewels? It seems to be agrowing trend in both TV as well as movies. Can someone explain to me(as well as many others, I'm sure) why this is so? If I were a writerand I brought forth dialogue that is as highly tuned and well regardedas the material on this show, I'd be screaming to someone to knock thispractice off! I hope that this will not be the format followed in theupcoming season, as it will squash the fine talents of the rest of theproduction team whose efforts are greatly appreciated and help keep thekeen interest of all of us.

Depends on your taste

Not the best show out there, but there are thousands of viewers outthere whom I'm sure disagree. In my personal opinion I like "House M.D." better. In House, they don'tknow whats wrong with all the patients. In "Grey's Anatomy" they almostalways know exactly what to do and how to fix it. But again, it dependson your taste. "Grey's Anatomy" puts a unique drama twist on thepersonal and professional lives of five surgical interns. My sister hadme watch a few episodes and I thought "Man this show is pretty good".If your looking for a show with puzzles in which you must piecetogether along with the cast, I'd recommend "House M.D.". If yourlooking for a drama that is more focused on the personal life of thecharacters, I'd say this title is for you, because "Grey's Anatomy" issure to deliver.

A Good Nap-Time Show for Guys

This is another one of those shows I watched that is designed forwomen. The obvious giveaway is that there are none of them boringexplosions; or really yawn-invoking shoot-outs; or any of those nasty,hard-to-put-down-hospital-zombies I like so much. I did observe thatthis show is not really based on any one big plot, but lends itselfmore to the strengths of many smaller plots (let's call them'plottets'). Each show embraces one or more of these sub-plots andnavigate through the latest stages of the respective plottet'slife-cycle(s). No matter how much my ears may bleed from show-generatedheadaches, this program obviously is well-scripted which is reflectedin the loyal fan-base. By the way - the use of the word 'planted' isintended as a good segway into some really cool gardening analogy Idreamed up. Without further ado let's start banging that gardening drumright away. Like the vegetables in a year-round garden, each plottetwill rot sooner than another. Also, like the more popular veggies, these mini-plots may attract more interest than originally planned. When this happens, the subject is magically revitalized or resuscitated– whatever the case may be. Keeping with that gardening analogy, thisis kind of like when you try jamming the root ball back into the groundhoping you haven't mistakenly killed your favorite Big Tom tomatoplant. Like any garden at the end of its growing year, all weeds areyanked or tear-wrenching story lines are resolved (half with happyendings and the other half with terrible endings) – and newer andsadder plottets are introduced – or the garden is freshly seeded.Anyways – I know that any attempt to understand these mini-plots wouldbe very detrimental to my health and quite pointless. I just don't havethe will to figure this stuff out. For women, I can understand why theylike this stuff – it is just so REAL! I will hand kudos the writers. The use of these mini-plots is very clever. Not only do they trapaudiences into watching weekly in order to follow each plottet, but italso arms fans with powerful knowledge (very powerful – Svengali-like -knowledge) which can be used as a reference point in fan discussionsabout character direction in the show. I – on the other hand – battlethe urge to vomit. BUT – I am a guy.

Grey's Antomy: O Malley Antomy Should be more like it!

Now OK I love the show as much as the next person but to me the show isall about George. I don't even pay attention to the main characterMeredith, in fact to me she annoy's me. If it were only her on the showI'd die of boredom, but hey that's just one person's opinion. So yeahover all you can pretty much guess who my favorite character is coughGeorge cough. I just think if it only had Meredith a lot of the fanswouldn't be tuning in as much. It would be all about her, her, her andher selfish attitude. The humor is very good though even if there is alot of drama. Its a great show, I'd rather have O Malley be the starhe's much more entertaining than Meredith, and has a sense of humor.

Good show

Like the show & the cast. Except for Ellen Pompeo. She's tooirritating. Amazing a show that is supposed to be centered around heris better without her. I'd rather watch scenes that don't includeMeredith. Sandra Oh is brilliant as always... her character is driven, intelligent but yet very vulnerable. Love it. Katherine Heigl plays theperfect beautiful woman in a man's career who is usually overlookedbecause she is beautiful. She plays the character well. At first Ididn't like Justin Chambers character but Dr. Karev has developed intoa very interesting character & hope to see much more stories with him.I do like Patrick Dempsey's character. Dr. Sheppard is very sexy &entertaining. He seems to show charisma even when serious. Love theintroduction after the first season of Kath Walsh. She's the woman youat first love to hate. In the second season she's become a well roundedcharacter & fun to watch. Over all the series is good. I do think itcould lose Ellen Pompeo & still be a great series. Truthfully of allthe friends & family I know who watch regularly... NO one likes her.

great ensemble show....WATCH

If you're here, you probably already know that Grey's Anatomy is one ofthe best shows on television. It may be melodramatic and unrealistic attimes, but it is also warm, fantastic, and human. At first I wrote off this show as an Ally McBeal meets ER, but afterwatching only one episode I was hooked. The entire cast isextraordinary and the episodes are constantly fresh. Even in the midstof tender moments the show is always filled with excitement. It doessomething that so few shows do: create characters you care about.Inside yourself is a piece of every character.Although the main plot, between depressed but sharp intern MeredithGrey and her charming boss Dr. Shepard is the main focus of the show, the relationships between the interns and attendings, both friendly, romantic, and otherwise drive the show. Particularly the callousCristina and her softening at the hands of the cocky but brilliant Dr.Burke. You will find yourself rooting for the bumbling George, andpitying Alex Karev for his inability to cope with emotion. It feels soreal. The dialogue is fresh but natural, and the medical cases aresurprisingly accurate and always intriguing.Watch this show, it's great and will suck you in, no matter who youare.

Crap

This is the worst series ever, and I don't know why it is so popularbecause for me its for fat middle aged women who don't know what to dowhit their lets say personal life and they are eating ice creamsgetting fat and living this fake and miserable lives of crappycharacters especially this Asian women who thinks that she is hot butshe's not. I don't know how it is possible that they won Golden Globesomeone might be blind but i hope that now people wont do the samemistake. For the producers please stop making this "thing" you aredoing and start make some proper stuff like Prison Breake or Dexter ormany more cool series that entertain us for many years.Of course you don't have to agree witch me, but I think you should.Chears

Jurnee Smollett should win an Emmy

Re: Grays Anatomy. "Freedom" Finale episode 2007-2008.Just when one might think that Gray's is getting a little soapopera-ish ... again, the ensemble cast blows 'em away with a GREATFinale. All of the story lines (there are several going on at once) are fullydeveloped and then greatly capped off with truly magnificentperformances. But Beth, an over-protected teenager with a death sentence diseaseplayed by Jurnee Smollett just yanks at your heart with her emotionfilled performance ranging from concern, fear, frustration, young love(with the taste of first time), devastating loss, recovery process allin ONE episode perhaps 7 minutes on camera seeming an almostafter-thought sub-plot out of 2 hours.WOW! In an episode filled with great writing and great acting, Jurnee'sperformance just cannot be ignored. She is what GIVES the heart toGray's.Now that I have looked up Jurnee, her performance comes as no surprise.I hope that she gets the awards that she really earned. The resident ensemble cast is now even better than West Wing.Up until the last episode ("Freedom"), I always thought of the WestWing as the BEST ensemble cast. This one is a keeper.

Was a great show...

I would have given the show an 8 or 9 years ago, but the show hascompletely jumped the shark. Not only does the show seem to be spinningit's wheels with no clear direction anymore, but the introduction ofMeredith's baby has destroyed the dynamic of the main character. Thereare now too many shows dedicated to the family aspect, and notmedicine. This was a similar scenario to what happened on House MD.Sometimes, shows simply overstay their welcome on the air and try tocome up with too many gimmicks and no new ideas, as Grey's clearly has.The new writers (in other words, the one who took over for Rimes), haveruined to show.

A medical drama like no others!

Romantic! Addictive! Outstanding: These are the three words to describeGrey's Anatomy. This show made me addicted in its first few episodesand i watch the whole five season in a month. If you think this is another boring medical show like ER or ChicagoHope you are so wrong!First of all this is not a hospital drama about treating patients it isabout the doctors and their personal lives. This series makes you cry so hard in some episodes. Actors are doingtheir job well.Grey's Anatomy took all the attention from other hospital dramas andeveryone's idea of medical drama has changed. You have to see it, youhave to see it now! Start from the very first episode! What do youwaiting? Best Season: Season 2 9.8/10.

karensbiggestfan 2012-05-04 14:56:45

Still a great show!

I really enjoy Grey's Anatomy still. I first watched it when I had topull an all-nighter for school. I bought season one because it was onsale and I just wanted something on in the background. I got completelysucked in and bought season two when it came out. I started watching iton TV at the beginning of season three. For awhile I thought thingswere going a little downhill. The show lost some steam during thewriters' strike, but there were some decent plots in season five.Season six started out strong, kind of mellowed, then ended with thebest finale of the lot. I didn't like the first episode of seasonseven, but every subsequent episode has been better and better. I havefallen in love with the characters, and I still love them. There are afew to many life-threatening disasters directly involving maincharacters, but it is a TV show. Overall, I would definitely recommendit.

Greys Anatomy episode Code Black part 2

I saw the part 2 of grey's anatomy last week and by far it's the bestepisode yet and hits reality so much where as I think most otherhospital dramas fail to get to the core of medicine. There was one scene between George and Dr Bailey that had me in tearsbecause to me it was just so real. George reminded me so much about anintern I had last year when I was in hospital and I was to have onesurgery but it went wrong and I had to go back and have 2 moresurgeries, I wanted to give up so badly and I remember that I was asclosed in and turned off to help like Dr Bailey was when she needed togive birth but wanted to wait.It was George who believed in her and would not let her give up. Thatwas exactly how my intern was to me last year, he talked to me the sameway so when I saw that I just cried because to me the situation wasjust so incredibly real.Doctor's and nurses yes may be overworked in hospitals but seriouslythey really come through when they are needed and just caring, patienceand understanding from them helps more than any medicine ever could.thanks to the producers and writers for making this such a real showthat hits all the high notes.

Help

OK...I just got done watching the second episode of Grey's Anatomy. Atthe end, Grey said this quote that really struck me. The only problemis I don't have the quote word-for-word and I was just wondering ifanybody was observant enough to catch it verbatim. It went somethinglike this and the word in CAPS is the only word I'm not certain on:"If you're willing to take the CHANCE, the view from the otherside...is spectacular." (Was it CHANCE or RISK?)I also really don't know why so many lines are required to fill up thiscomment box when I am already finished. This just doesn't seem worthit. OK so if anybody know's the quote, please contact me at the emailaddress, dashbebe18@aol.com or just reply to this comment on the siteeven though I may never get the time to check back. There, I hope I'veadded enough lines now. :-P I hope everybody has a lovely day.

Wonderful!

Nothing gets better than this. Leaving work early every Sunday night tosee what's up with 9PM block on ABC in HAWAII. Love to be on that edge, wondering if she is going to have her McDreamy. It makes the suspenseso intense! Grey and Shepard are a wonderful duo. The cast in the showare so awesome. Remembering Patrick Dempsey in "Can't Buy Me Love" andnow a very mature individual who achieved so much to get where he's atnow. Ellen Pompeo as a very fresh face in the Primetime Segment, andmany other characters as well. As my four daughters would say, "Theremust be more to life than Grey's Anatomy, Mom!" I replied, "I have youfour girls first, but now it's my time...my time for McDreamy & Grey."They all laughed and now leaves me alone for only one hour of laughterand tears.

More interesting than the usual TV "doctor" soap series.

This new to 2005 TV series focuses on the lives of a group of young, new surgical residents in Seattle. The title character is Dr. MeredithGrey, whose mother, now in early dementia, was a renowned surgeon. Theyoung Dr. Grey is played by Ellen Pompeo, a fairly experienced youngactress who has a face that is more interesting than beautiful, but heracting is believable, making her a good choice for the role. All theothers think she may be getting preferred treatment, but we see thatshe appears to be a gifted doctor. The good ensemble cast includes quite a few, but I have three otherfavorites. Sandra Oh plays Dr. Yang, ambitious, always trying to getpicked to assist in surgery, and in recent episodes has begun aclandestine affair with Dr Burke (Houstonian Isaiah Washington), one ofmembers of the surgical team. The other is Chandra Burke, anotherHoustonian, as the 'nazi' Dr. Miranda Bailey. She is in charge of thenew residents, and makes them understand early that when she issleeping, they should only disturb her if someone is on the verge ofdeath. She really is a good and kind character, but she has to play ittough to establish boundaries. So far I have only seen two or three episodes, but they have beeninteresting, well-written, and well-acted. Not the usual "doctor" soapseries.

Kasey_Doshier 2012-05-01 20:30:36

A great surprise

This has definitely been my highlight of this season, even though itcame in late. The cast is great, and they all work really well together. PatrickDempsey is an amazing actor, and has always been one of my favorites,in everything he's done.I agree with the commenter above, that's it can be seen as a moreserious Scrubs, but I'll add to that and say it's a less boring ER.They're all hospital shows, that's really the only common link betweenthese though. Besides showing the dynamics of the hospital, there's also the subplotof Meredith Grey's mother's illness, that no one who knew herprofessionally knows about. It's interesting to see where this showwill go.I hope it's around for a second season, because it has the promise ofbecoming an amazing show.

khund18 2012-04-28 23:26:59

The awful truth- ppl who diss Grey's anatomy probably don't get it.

Grey's Anatomy has no comparison with shows like scrubs, ER and anyother medical show for that matter. It is NOT "over-hyped". Theproducers can't help it if everyone is talking about their show becauseit simply is THE BEST. It is not unrealistic. It is entertainment-- soits pretty obvious that good-lucking actors will be portraying thecharacters and it makes the show all the more watchable andinteresting. As a doctor i understand that the show does its best todisplay what doctors go through; the problems, complications, andeverything in between. Each character in the show gets you moreaddicted to the show. All those people out there who criticize Grey'sprobably don't understand it and lead sad pathetic lives.

obsessivefilmlover 2012-04-28 11:52:46

Excellent Series

This television series is one of the best dramas I've ever seen in awhile. The cast has great chemistry, especially Patrick Dempsy andEllen Pompeo. The script is flawless, full of new obstacles for eachcharacter to go through per episode, with bits of comedic writing in itas well. I have compared this series with the ER series and personally,I like this series much better. Grey's Anatomy has bits of life lessonsfor viewers to learn every so often. Many episodes breaks your hearts, making you feel tempted to even yell or shout at the television screen!Great cliff-hangers, making viewers waiting impatiently until nextThursday to see what happens next! Overall, Grey's Anatomy is awonderful show. Tune in!
