Taking place during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, it sees Mexican footballer Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) pitted against his Real Madrid team-mates and England players Charlie Braithwaite (Leo Gregory) and Liam Adams (JJ Feild) in a mutual quest to lift sports ultimate prize. Also starring are (Nick Moran) and (Tamer Hassan). Santi is motivated to try and win the trophy for his late father and family back in Los Angeles and Madrid. Meanwhile, Charile and Liam just want to try and end the Three Lions 40 years of pain. For all three charismatic footballers, the path to potential success is one fraught with temptations and torments - and all three have to deal with personal issues off the pitch that affects their roles on it. Gracing the screen with a splash of glamour are two beautiful WAGS Italian actress Sophia Tardelli (Kasia Smutniak) and one of our heroes ex-girlfriends, June (Anya Lahiri). Also following the tournament around Germany in their St Georges Cross festooned camper van are the Geordie Boys, whom we first met back in Goal!. Providing the often hilarious fans perspective of the matches are Gordon (Mike Elliott), Foghorn (Christopher Fairbank), Walter (Jack McBride) and Phil (Craig Heaney). The film includes incredible football action shot at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals in Germany which was

We have taken some photos of "Goal! III : Taking on the world". They represent actual movie quality.
Horrible, it has nothing to do with the previous films. What happenedto the story of Santiago and Roz? In the second, she was pregnant anddid not say anything to him and at the end. And in this movie theirhistory becomes others. i was really waiting for the moment that Santirealises that he has a child. but it didn't happened. one of the bestparts of these movies was the relationship between them. and in thisone, none of the romantics parts added anything to the movie. Regardingthe special effects, this time they were worst than the other 2 movies. And the other histories... I didn't understood nothing about the Gothicmovie at the beginning and the guys with the van. all seemeddisconnected or nothing to do with each other. I am totallydisappointed. i don't recommend it to anyone, boring ...
I can not believe this movie. The first two movies were outrageous butthe third one was a hardship. Where was Santiago, Harris and his wife. This Liam and the other one were terrible actors and Santiago was likean extra. I hope My Santiago could come back like on the first andsecond part as the main character with some real soccer movements againand real actors, too please. Maybe add some other real soccer playerslike Renaldo,Ronald vs Santiago and Harris. I mean what happened toSantiago's mom, little brother, girlfriend,Harris and manager. I hopethere could be goal 4 to replace part 3. Kuno Becker(Santiago) your thebest even though your not a real soccer player ,you make it real andthats why the first two movies were the best for your hard work.Nowplease come back as the main character. My 9 year old son plays soccerand got really inspired with goal 1 and 2. Its not about the real starsoccer players, it's about the story, how Santiago began his dream as asoccer player and how he continues.
I really just don't understand it. The Goal movies preceeding this one were in my opinion incredible. Great stories shot in good quality. This movie however I would qualify as an abortion. It is just horrible. I don't understand how Kuno Becker, who was at one time considered to be following in the footsteps of Mexican actor Gael Garcia, could possibly agree to act in this atrocity.
what made this film good for me was the fact i was at the premiere withall the england football team including David Beckham which for me wasthe highlight of the film as he was sitting directly behind me. i wasalso there with Leo Gregory, Tamer Hassan, Anya(June) and theproducer. This is why for me it was amazing. There was some good andfunny parts of the film it was well acted and a good story line butsome parts for me were a bit far-fetched and some things happened a bitsuddenly with out warning but it had a good ending although quitepredictable. But its definitely worth a watch even if football isn'tsomething your particularly into. I watch a lot of films and did enjoyit although i didn't think i would.
This is one of the worst sports movies I have ever seen. I hadextremely high expectations for this movie going in, as the first twowere so fantastic. But this one was a bigger disappointment than everysequel to "Saw". Kuno Becker is almost completely cut out of this film.Alessandro Nivola is nowhere to be seen. If you are looking to watch itjust to learn more about Santiago, don't bother. His story iscompletely ignored in this film. The only saving grace (if any) in this film is that it containsfootball. But even so, the play is horrible and very cheesy throughout.Do not waste your time with this movie. Don't buy it, rent it, or evenpirate it online. It is simply not worth your time. On second thought,go ahead and pirate it all you want. Sell copies to your friends. Thepeople in charge of this film do not deserve to make any money off ofthis god-awful excuse for a movie. As a last note, they should have let Mike Jeffries do the writing onthis film. He did a tremendous job on the first two. As for this PiersAshworth guy, I have never even heard of him. But after this film, Iwill definitely be keeping my eye out for his name just so I don't haveto sit through another disaster like this one.
I don't understand why they left us like that...The second part of the movie(goal 2) ends silly,an they left us believethat the story of Santiago Munez will continue not the other 2guys,Charlie and Liam...He didn't even re-conciliate with Roz and Glen... That's the biggestdisappointment...I hope that will appear "Goal 4" to continue his story... And most ofall, this story isn't based on football, but more on Liam's life andproblems with his doter and his future wife...i know that England waseliminated by Portugal at that World Cup,but they could make an effortand make them win in the movie...
Began in earnest to have to subscribe to IMDb until CELL give my numberto be able to say that this movie is a Basque seriously something Iexpected something better, it's like watching Rambo 1 Rambo 2 and thenafter that, it meets a couple of friends and breaks his hand and therole is to peel it and neither FART Ching, is a rocky 1 rocky 2 and onewhere it breaks and has to see her two Cuates make the ridiculous lackof professionalism that really Waiting for more. Your opinions? well Iwrote this in Spanish this website will not take Spanish any ways gotomy site to see the real comment about these movie which really SUCKS noquestion about it.http://www.zonadegol.com/golforum/tm.aspx?m=38
This film is as bad as Newcastle Utd. Really is like! Even has fat boyMike Ashley as himself in it and he has the choice words of 'f-off' init then he is never seen again is this load of nonsense of a movie! Ireally do think that people involved at Newcastle Utd have put moneyinto this film as it has Newcastle tops everywhere in it. Sure itwouldn't be like them to throw good money after bad mind you ha ha. Allin all an hour of my life wasted as this was all I could stand cause Icouldn't stands no more. The rest of the reviews on here about the mainlad not being in it hardly are all true and for the headers who sayit's good are clearly glue-bags. all in all a mess
Goal 3 has nothing at all to do with the previous two movies. It isessentially a Hollywood version of the Tony Adams story ("Addicted"),combined with footage from England's games in the 2006 World Cup.The first few minutes are entertaining enough (apart from the obviousbluescreen shots), but the movie then quickly goes downhill and neverrecovers. Goal 3 begins in a parallel universe in which England beat Mexico inthe World Cup final. It's a well edited combination of shots taken fromold England and Mexico games (I don't think they've actually met sinceEngland beat Mexico 4-0 at Wembley in 2001), and was probablyoriginally supposed to be the ending. But it's clear that the producerswere unable to secure the support of FIFA and the Mexican FootballFederation, and without them on board, the movie was doomed from thestart. (They also seem to have lost the support of Real Madrid andBeckham.)The acting is professional, as you'd expect from people like LeoGregory (except for Becker, who gives the impression throughout that hedidn't want to be there), but beyond that the only good thing I can sayabout this movie is that I didn't pay to watch it.
Iv read some of the reviews and I agree with all. This movie almost hasnothing to do about soccer(football) more about a love story. Yes itdoes have the world cup but you see more of Beckham play than you dothe main stars. If you were expecting Santiago Munez going throughissues then coming out on top in the end you have chosen the wrongmovie for that. I loved the first two movies I'm a huge football fanbut Kuno Becker (Santiago) plays so little of role (never see him toucha football) that its discussing to even call this the last movie of thetrilogy. You expect at the least the star of the first two to have somekind of an impact on this movie but if you count up the speaking partshe has in this movie it comes out to be maybe around 10 minutes maybeless. From the first two movies this is 99% different. So if youcouldn't tell I hate this movie and am very disappointed in this movieand only recommend this if you have some kind of stock in the publisherso you can get money out of it.
I absolutely loved the first two movies..... I was so excited to findout what happened with Santi and Rozz that I couldn't wait to get thismovie, Goal 3. To my BIGGEST disappointment this movie had NOTHING todo with Goal 1 nor 2. Whole other story, new character n well Santi wasa sideline guest barely in the movie?????? never mind anyone else weknew. I pretty much fast fwd thru most of the movie cause it was boringn I couldn't believe what i was watching. I hope that they make a Goal4 because ALL the fans have been left hanging for years trying to findout what happens to Santi. I can only imagine how many more yrs will itbe before the next one comes out.
I think a one as punctuation to this movie is too much, I can put tothis negative or a zero I do it.I loved the first and the second Goal! movies. I was expecting anxiousthe third part and it wasn't this movie... I hope they do a completelynew goal 3 movie. I would like to know how the life of Santiago andHarris continues.... This movie is one of the worst movies I saw! ... Ihope to be able to see the real trilogy someday... but deleting thismistake. Fortunately I didn't see it on the Cinemas. If you liked the first twoGoal movies you should not see this one, it is destroying thereputation of the other 2. It has not the quality of the production, acompletely different story, etc., etc. ... I am very angry anddisappointed!!!Kuno Becker shouldn't have acted in this film, his presence on themovie makes you think that it is about Santiago... and it is acompletely different story. If I could ask them for the money back for the renting of the movie Iwill do it... Please don't see this movie... you deserve use your timein something more interesting.
what the? this was by far the worst movie i have ever seen. i own thefirst and just purchased the second. i wanted to buy the 3rd, and thankgod its not out yet because i called around looking for it. i am glad igot to watch it on the computer for free and didn't waste my time andmoney. what a waste of film. i loved the first and second, but this onehad absolutely nothing to do with the first or the second. i mean whathappened? what where these directors thinking? Santiago came out inthis movie for what 10 minutes? i am so disappointed. i hope theyremake this 3rd one because this one was a piece of well you know what.i am so glad no money was spent on this movie because i would not buyit in a million years. if it was given to me, i would throw it in thetrash.
I refused to read any reviews, look at any information regarding Goal3, Now that I have finally just seen it and I could not agree MORE withmost of the reviews here!! Unbelievable and reviewer "Liverpool4ever !"seriously asks what more could you want? How about the continuing sagaof Santi Munez? Not necessarily Roz as we can pretty much figure outwhat happened there, no need to insult our intelligence! But to makethis about basically completely new people? That is crazy! While Iagree it was not a horrible film by any means, in fact as a footballfilm is was extremely decent and enjoyable, but to consider it part ofthe trilogy, NO! Goal 3 has nothing to do with Goal 1 & 2, the onlyrelation is that you have Kuno Becker wandering around in thebackground other than that, it may as well be a completely differentfilm. I have waited and waited for two years to see this film in theUSA and I finally had to purchase it on ebay, internationally to seeit! How do I get my money back? Again, not because it was a horriblefilm because it was NOT a horrible film, it just has absolutely nothingto do with the previous 2 Goal films.... WOW, after reading over ninepages of reviews I cannot believe the producers, etc did not see thiscoming.. WHAT ABOUT A TRUE GOAL 3? I think most of us would forgive youif you make one more and really make it about Santi Munez!!
Diabolical. Imagine Warner Brothers following Batman Begins & The DarkKnight with a film entitled Batman : Behind The Mask. They shoot on aminute budget, get Christian Bale in for half an hour to cameo, thenshoot an entirely different plot, not about Batman, but featuring someother hero (let's call him Shiteman). It'll be awful, but because ofthe title it will still make loads of money for them. I consider themakers of this film guilty of the theft of my money and time, and themurder of Santiago Munez. In all, the worst 90 minutes of my life since last season at EwoodPark.
I have to admit the scenes on the football pitch were well-coordinated,and engaged me in the film quite well. The most disappointing part ofthe film was that it chose to emphasize more on the alleviation of theEnglishman rather than Santiago's debut in the World Cup. The filmbecomes very pointless as it tries to highlight Liam Adams' frivolousregret when he realized the existence of his lovely daughter. The filmfinally concludes Adams as a family hero which was to some extentpredictable, and certainly not worth the majority of film time.Additionally, Goal 3 was off the course from the last two whichillustrated football based on Santiago and not much on the emphasis ontons of emotion. Although the disappointment, the extras such as theEnglish fans were amusing.
I managed to watch Goal 3 yesterday. As a die-hard football fan, andthe fact that I loved the first Goal, I felt I had to. However, in theend it was a disappointment. This is not to say that the movie was too bad. It was just that, as afan of the Goal franchise, the movie was a terrible let down. The starof the first two movies, Santiago (Kuno Becker) was reduced to just anextended cameo, and it looked like he has even put on a bit of weight. They very conveniently manage to get him injured in the first half ofthe film, so that he wouldn't be able to play the world cup. Bigmistake. Santiago's is the journey the viewers rooted for. He played inthe premiership and then went to Real Madrid. Everyone wanted to watchhim play the world cu. But probably the film makers decided thatfollowing Mexico at the world cup wont be too exciting. Which is whythey got two Englishmen to play the lead this time. They are CharlieBraithwaite and Adams, both who play for Real Madrid, and who aresupposedly Santiago's best friends. Which is where the problems startwith Goal 3. There is absolutely no continuity from the first two goalmovies. These guys are supposed to be Santi's best friends, but wherewere they till now? What happened to Santi's personal life, with thewife and kid? Only a passing reference is made to this. While focus isspent on the personal lives of the two Englishmen. Another problem withthe movie. While I did not like the second Goal too much, as I feltthey forsaked a good football plot and tried to hide the flaws bybombarding the watchers with glitzy images of Real Madrid players andstadium, this one seemed to almost relegate the world cup to thebackground. The biggest problem with the film was probably this. Thefilm crew seems to have just added the existing footage from the lastworld cup, and with the use of some not so good CGI, merge the actorson the foreground of matches. And Santi seemed to be only intent osupporting England, rather than beat any of Mexico's matches. As I said earlier, not a very bad movie (even the relatively unknownactors do a decent job), but unfortunately, it virtually disowns theGoal franchise and Santiago.
It is a bad sequence for Goal Trilogy. I think since the movie is aboutthe world cup 2006. You can't change the fact of the world cup. Ichecked the Mexico team in world cup. Actually, they went into theknockout stage. Maybe they wants to show those England stars. Thismovie is so crappy that not even Beckham came in like last two movies.Footballers are entitled to medical checkup before game. So, Charlie'scase should be rare. Adam's problem is more common. Just like CarlosTevez's case. LOL.When England played with Ecuador, Beckham scored the freekick. You cansee the Joe Cole was still on the field instead of being substituted byCharlie.Goal should have only 2 sequences if they are not able to make thethird one.
First things first, when you think you're watching a sequel to a movieyou're expecting some sort of continuity, well that was pretty muchnon-existent. After watching Goal 2 which wasn't great either I washoping the makers will make amends, but this movie makes Goal 2 looklike a stroke of genius. A movie named goal which hardly has anyfootball in it.It should have been named "Life of WAGS" or something ofthat sort.Certain things irritate me about the movie, like the patched up sceneswhenever they show the actors on the pitch playing along with the realfootballers, the crowd's blurred and they never share the screen withthe players(the other GOAL movies didn't suffer from this problem). Thegame of football is not about great team play, passing and movement andability according to this movie, it's about loving your girlfriend, coming on as a substitute and scoring a fantastic goal without anytechnical ability because apparently the assistant coach doesn't haveany other substitutes to call upon when faced with a crisis. All in all, if you want to watch a story about a man who leaves histroubled past behind and finally GROWS UP, then go ahead and subjectyourself to the torture. But if you think you need to watch a footballmovie go ahead and rent a DVD of There's Only One Jimmy Grimble.
I went into this film thinking that it would carry on from the first 2goal films and be about the story of the brilliant mexian footballersantiago munez reaching the ultimate dream of playing in the world cup.Unfortunately he played very little part in this film. Not even kickinga ball in the world cup. This is hard to understand considering thefirst two movies were about him. Overall I thought the script for thismovie was terrible compared to the first two which I enjoyed. Therewere so many times in which the story here just did not relate to whatwas seen in the first two movies and you ended up asking yourself "hold on what about munez wife or , who is he I have never seen himbefore etc etc" and you never really get a full explanation to thesequestions. There are some parts which are completely absurd, forinstance, adams gets a taxi to see an ex girlfriend, he goes to pay thetaxi driver and the taxi drivers says no it alright mate its for free.Adams says great I'll sort you out for tickets to see england in theworld cup after the knockout stage. This sounds a reasonable thing todo. However you see the taxi driver and his friends 1) get into the VIPareas of the world cup games, 2)invited to Braithwaite funeral, 3)invited to adams wedding. I mean come it was a free taxi ride for godsake and suddenly your best man at the wedding. All in all I found thestory boring and had no relation to the first two movies. The writersfor this movie should be ashamed that they strayed so far away from themunez story of the first two movies. So my advice is if you think goal3 will be anything like the first two movies then you will be bitterlydisappointed as I was. With a script this bad It is no wonder some ofthe actors who played big parts in Goal 1 and 2 did not sign up forGoal 3. Verdit ----> miss at all costs
