Its been 5 years since socialite Ursula Stanhope left civilization to marry George, lovable and clumsy King of the Jungle. Now father to George Junior, George finds himself stressed at having to juggle his cherished roles of jungle king, Juniors dad, and Ursulas loving husband. We have taken some photos of "George of the Jungle 2". They represent actual movie quality.
George of the Jungle 2 was released by Walt Disney Home Video in 2003. This movie is in color and has a running time of 87 min. The director for this movie is David Grossman(third). Even without Brendan Fraser, Disney produced a funny movie the whole family can enjoy. In the beginning of the movie there were a couple of tongue in cheek references to Brendan Fraser's absence. Christopher Showerman is the new George of the Jungle and he proved he can be just as funny as Brendan Fraser was. Ursula, portrayed by Julie Benz, is confused as to whether she will ever become first in George's life. In turn George worries that Ursula isn't happy about living in the jungle. An opportunity to take Ursula and their son, portrayed by Angus T. Jones, to the states arises. This is a good family movie with various parodies.
What a hilarious film! The sexual innuendos are so over-the-top and fun that you hardly think you are watching a Disney movie. Ursula: "Honey, I wouldn't worry about Junior swinging...he's the son of the greatest swinger of all time. How could he not learn how to swing?"All the actors are in great form (especially George's!). The uberfabulous Julie Benz ("Darla" from ANGEL) appears as Ursula, George's wife (lucky broad) and Christina Pickles ("Sorceress" from Masters of the Universe:The Movie) plays her evil mom! Christopher Showerman makes his debut as George, taking over for Brendan Fraser, as he explains. The Amazon review is correct, the camera does oogle his body but you'll get no complaints.
This movie was...1. way too short, teh whole rescue ursala was very short, as with the save the jungle, it was stupid, it might have been better if it had been longer. It was like 2 second kill drivers, lala. 2. acting: ursala was soooo unrealistic, she was like in lala land. i have never ever in my life seen worse acting. 3.the talking animals & everything was very messed up. I couldn't stand the kangaroo or the toucan. It was all fake, especially the kangaroo & toucan talking. & why did other animals have to talk? or even show emotions? that just wasn't right. 4. it just had stupid, stupid, parts. I always try to look @ good & bad parts in movie & not just say it's a piece of junk, but w/this movie, i'm sorry, there's nothing good, excpet that it might be good for lil' kids. the 1st one wasn't all that great, but it was somewhat good, loads better than this. everything was soooo much more realistic. ok thankyou. goodbye.
This movie was on t.v the other day, and I didn't enjoy it at all. Thefirst George of the jungle was a good comedy, but the sequel....completely awful. The new actor and actress to play the lead rolesweren't good at all, they should of had the original actor (BrendonFraiser) and original actress (i forgot her name) so this movie getsthe 0 out of ten rating, not a film that you can sit down and watch andenjoy, this is a film that you turn to another channel or take it backto the shop if hired or bought. It was good to see Ape the ape back, but wasn't as fun as the first, they should of had the new George asGeorges son grown up, and still had Bredon and (whats her face) in thefilm, that would've been a bit better then it was.
I can't believe they made a sequal. THey took this movie way too far. They almost should never had made this movie, or the first one, all because I feel it has made a complete mockery of Tarzan, and all he has stood for.
George of the Jungle 2 is the 2003 Disney direct-to-DVD sequel to the hilarious 1998 orginal and based on the classic 1960's animated cartoon series. Christopher Showerman makes his film acting debut as the new George(replacing Brendan Fraser), also starring John Cleese(Fawlty Towers)as the voice of Ape, Michael Clark Duncan(Daredevil) as the voice of the Mean Lion, Julie Benz(Angel) as Ursula, a young Angus T. Jones(Two and a Half Men) as George Jr. and Thomas Haden Church(Spider-Man 3) as the evil Lyle. The film involves George, Ursula and George Jr. living peacefully in the jungle when word reaches to George that Ape has money troubles in Las Vegas and George, Shep and Tookie-Tookie heads to Nevada to help out. Meanwhile, Ursula's mom, Mrs. Stanhope(Christina Pickles)is devising a plan to get her daughter away from George with a little help from Lyle, and to make matters worse, there is an plan by the Mean Lion to overthrow George and make himself the new king. The special features includes deleted scenes, bloopers and a behind the scenes look of the film, as well as trailers for other Disney DVD favorites. George of the Jungle 2 is one of the funniest and one of the best Disney live-action DVD's yet.
Brendon frassier is not in this movie. He looks kind of like him at first but he is'nt. The only person that I regonized was lionell or what ever his name was. And the movie was terrible. It is an all-time worst.
I really liked the first one and couldn't wait for the second. Turns out the second sucked. It had almost nothing to do with the first one.
My Grandson loves this video. Watches it over and over. Great value and fast shipping.
There are just so many things wrong with this movie. To begin with, the first twenty minutes of the film could have beencompressed into just five or maybe ten. The overall movie is(mercifully) short already, but this could have been made up for bygiving a little more attention to the Mean Lion (how did the miss areference to "The Wiz" on that one?) and working his subplot a littlemore closely into the main plot. In short, the script had the seed of agood idea, but needed quite a bit of reworking.Second, it could have done without the crude humor. The original alsohad some that it could have done without, but at least there it wasalmost an afterthought -- here, flatulence and urination abound.Third, the show is a little too self-aware. The original series hadthat well enough, as did the first movie, but here it's just way, waytoo much. The Brendan Fraser in-jokes were just a bit over the top (andwhy no mention of the "new Ursula"?). Other gags with the Narrator, especially a couple of interactions near the end, also exceed goodsense.Fourth, a bit more attention could have been given to the CGI work. Inthe first it was hard to tell that Shemp wasn't a real elephant (exceptby behavior, of course), but here the CGI stands out like a sore thumb.Ideally special effects should merely tell the story whether they'regood or bad, and they at least do succeed on that count, so it's arelatively small problem, but it's still there. All that said, Christopher Showerman's performance as George is decentenough. It lacks Brendan Fraser's charm, but Christopher only reallyfails in that specific comparison -- he even managed to give George abit of personal depth, which should have been a major foul in a JayWard-inspired movie but wasn't here. Julie Benz as the new Ursulasurprised me as being even better than Leslie Mann in the original. Most other performances were pretty standard, not standing out in mymind as either good or bad.
This review is from: George of the Jungle 2 (DVD) This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen. We all loved the first one, but hoped at least my children would enjoy this second one, and it was so pathetic, my little boy turned it off, and asked if he could put it in the trash! Sorry to be so gloom about it, but need to save someone their money.
My three year old got this for Christmas and loves it. Don't expect a cinematic masterpiece. It's kind of corny but it's a cute movie. Lots of talking animals, colorful scenery, action, one liners that 3yr olds will like to repeat... "Eat fur jungle boy". I agree with an earlier reviewer that Jr. doesn't get enough screen time. It took me a little while to get used to the new George, but I think he's just as good as the first one, and equally as hubba hubba.
this movie was awful. the first george of jungle was kinda good and funny but this one is very bad. This isnt even a sequal this is like a new movie. The two of the main characters werent even the same actors.
You're at it again Universal. You just continue to do terrible disappointing sequels to fantastic blockbusters. Who in the world was that playing George, because it just didn't match the great Brendan Fraser in the 1997 original. The acting of him was overall okay. Other cast was terrible. Not matching any cast from the original. The storyline? Pretty easy to follow I will admit, but just had that uncomfortable feeling about it. This film might have done all right if it went straight to cinema, but they stuffed themselves because it just doesn't work on video. The director whoever it was did an awful job. The visuals didn't do much for me because they were only spot on okay. Overall I'll give the film 5/10 for the imcompetence of Universal for not putting this in cinemas and not even asking Brendan Fraser if he wanted to reprise his role.THANKYOU
This movie is more than just boring, it's torture. The acting is terrible, mostly becuase the main actor has no experience (this is his first movie). In fact, almost all the actors from the previous movie haven't returned to be in the sequel, and I don't blame them.I bet they would have commited suicide after reading the script. The story is so cheesy, only morons would laugh at it's immature humor. I'm warning you not to buy this movie (watch it on Disney Channel).
I watched about 10 minutes of it because it was on TV. I did not seethe beginning, but I watched the middle part. I immediately disliked itwhen I saw that Brendan Fraser was not in the movie. George of theJungle was my favorite movie when I was a little girl, and now it justsucks. The first one was FANTASTIC I'd give that one 40/10 stars if Icould. But the sequel deserves about a 1/10. It wasn't funny, it didn'tmake me laugh like the first one did.Ursula was my favorite characterwhen I was little, and they replaced her too! I'm just curious on whythey replaced them. They were made for the part in the movie, so Idon't know why they would replace them. I know I only watched 10minutes of the movie in the middle, but those are 10 minutes I won'tget back.
The kids, aged 7 to 14, got such a huge kick out of this film that wegave a copy to all of the other kids on our birthday list this year. They all loved it! Kids from 2 to 7 watch it repeatedly and frequently, and we get a kick out of watching it with them. It's rare that a film entertains the kids for so long, and offerslaughs for the adults, too. Most enjoy it more than the first.Top-quality production and an excellent cast, led by ChristopherShowerman as a superior George--athletic, energetic, and whollycredible, with a lovable innocence and a particular knack of taking atree in the face--well supported by the inimitable Christina Pickles asthe evil mother-in-law, Thomas Haden Church as the evil jerk rival, andeverybody else. This is fun.
Disney continues to milk success out of their theatrical successes withdirect-to-video sequels, a generally annoying practice of theirs, likecalling all their cartoons masterpieces and labeling their discs DisneyDVD(as if they invented the format!). This live-action cartoon is as good, ifnot better, than the Brendan Fraser original, mainly because it keeps thesatirical humor of the Jay-Ward-cartoon original intact and maintains theproduction qualities and effects work of the first picture. Unknown ChrisShowerman replaces Brendan Fraser and he's up to the task, in spite of thefact that he's at an immediate disadvantage substituting for arecognizablestar. It's as lively and humorous as it needs to be and should definitelyentertain family elements of all ages as necessary. One more Disneyquibblebefore I close: and that's the pandering, condescending attitude theyseemto have for the audience, by labeling their widescreen presentation of thefilm on DVD as "family friendly", as if filmgoers are nothing butuneducatedconsumers who might find the black bars on their square TVs offensive andforego the purchase (rental or whatever). Disney just continues totypecastthemselves and their audience with their obvious, overt approach to theirproduct!
This movie was a whole lot worse than the first one(I actually like the first one). You can tell the animals are computer animated. The actor that plays George is terrible! The only thing good about it is the plot which actually sticks to the story line of the first one.
alredy the first part was a load of rubbish. The jokes were extremely cheap - so it was almost annoying to see, that there is a sequel to this.
