Prequel to the first From Dusk Till Dawn is set in Mexico in the early 1900s which begins with the escape of Johnny Madrid, a dangerous local outlaw, from the gallows who then kidnaps his hangmans beautiful daughter, Esmeralda, with a little help from Reece, a female outlaw from the U.S. With the hangman and a local posse on their trail, Johnny meets with his gang who all rob a stagecoach which contains American author Ambrose Bierce along with newlywed couple John and Mary Newlie. As night falls, all parties coincidently seek shelter in an isolated innwhorehouse which is run by vampires led by the high priestess Quixtla who targets Esmeralda. Esmeralda is revealed to be the half-human, half-vampire princess Santanico Pandemonium, whom the vampires want as their heir in which all the humans must join forces if they are to survive the night from the vicious blood-suckers.

Surprisingly enough 'From Dusk Till Dawn 3' is a western/horror unlikeits predecessors. But the setting is mainly the only difference here,as the end part of he film is a vampire slaughter fest.Unlike the part 2, FDTD3 actually takes place in the bar, that will beknown as the Titty Twister on the first film. This time a bunch ofoutlaws and travelers and soldiers find their way in this brothel. After a bit the true nature of the bar patrons is revealed and theblood fest begins.Out of the sequels of 'From Dusk Till Dawn' this one is clearly thebetter one. Jokes work better and actors do their best and even thesmall, yet predictable plot works pretty well. All things together, 'From Dusk Till Dawn 3' ain't the greatest filmever, but it is good way to spend an hour and a half.
Whether the notion of mixing two genres, such as western and horror isstrange or welcome, it does sound like a challenge. FROM DUSK TILL DAWN3,etc. succeeds in weaving an interesting, outlandish and humorous tale. It's not very scary, but is an entertaining form of escapism. The characterdevelopment is minimum at best; so it's not exactly engrossing. The leads, Marco Leonardi (LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE), Michael Parks andTemuera Morrison seem to be enjoying themselves, and are adequate. Thisfilm is pretty much a chauvinistic actioner - female actresses herein forthe most part are window dressing, with the exception of Rebecca Gayheartand Ara Celi. Of course, to be fair, most westerns lean that way. LennieLoftin is the standout, and he carries the film's most memorable bar brawlscene. Pretty light hearted fare all together, but for direct-to-video, it is topnotch. Excellent rainy day film. Recommended.
This is just like one of those stories from the "Weird Western Tales" comic. A man being chased by the law, hides out in an out -of-the-way bar with his girlfriend, the "hangman's daughter". Which bar do they choose? The same one from the first film of course. I enjoyed watching this movie, it has some kooky and colorful characters and the vampires did their thing pretty well. It is a very typical "B" movie and it succeeds on that level.
"From Dusk Till Dawn 3:The Hangman's Daughter" is actually a prequel to thefirst film, because it explores the origins of Salma Hayek's characterSantanico Pandemonium from the first feature. It's also a big improvementover the disappointing first sequel "Texas Blood Money".The first hour ofthe film plays almost like an European spaghetti western.Great actor MichaelParks gets a lead role as a real life civil war veteran and writer AmbroseBierce.Temeura Morrison is excellent as the nasty hangman. It's nice to see avery beautiful Sonia Braga as a vampire princess Quixtla. The gore isplentiful and suitably nasty(vampires lick blood off the floor, off theirvictims, rip out jugulars, there are decapitations, stabbingsetc.)Unfortunately some CGI effects are quite unconvincing, but "TheHangman's Daughter" is enjoyable enough to watch it few times.Give it alook,if you're a fan of "From Dusk Till Dawn" series.
FDTD 3 was ok, but doesnt compare the the first one. The second one I thought was OK but it had nothing to do with the first one, where as this 3rd sequel is kind of the same as the 1st one but it is set back in the wild west days.Again there are a lot of unansrewed questions left remaining, like why the charactors are developed for 3 quarters of the movie then they are just wiped out all of a sudden and things like that. Overall, it will come down to wether you like an action movie with vampires with a bit of fun and gore in it. Dont expect it to live up to the first one, but if you can manage to get through the slow start of the film and have patience to when it picks up, it's ok for a nights entertainment.
Far more better than the second one. Now we all how this story got started. Cool effcts and a good story.
I guess if you're a fan of the original cleverly planned From Dusk To Dawn, you have interest in seeing where the sequels would go...In the case of "Texas Blood Money",a low-budget,poorly conceived movie...absolutely nowhere! But as was the case with prior Blockbuster sequels sometimes it takes a 3rd try to get it right...The best way to describe From Dusk To Dawn 3: Hangman's Daughter is an exact duplicate of the first with the era and the characters changing, otherwise the premise is the same.Like Clooney & Tarantino from the original,It is now Outlaw,Johnny Madrid who is on the run.And instead of the kidnapped family in the Van,It is the Stagecoach passengers who uwittingly enter the famed Bar after their Stagecoach drivers are killed...The Bar is the same with Vampire hosts forming the entertainment.Instead of Cheech Marin providing the "hawker" role,You now have a Stable boy.So what you get with "Hangman's Daughter" is a basically a rehash of the original and when you get done watching it,You feel you're "been there, done that".Is it entertaining? Yes,Graphic Special Effects,Lots Of Action & Suspense. It's certainly watchable and certainly entertaining. If you keep your expectations realistic. The Acting is passable. The Characters are likeable.Temuera Morrison will make you forget Salma Hayek in a moment. All in all,I felt entertained for my "buck" (actually 5) Hopefully the series has now had its run before "watering" it down any further ala "Halloween" or "Friday The 13th.
Prequel to the FROM DUSK TILL DAWN series has an outlaw & his gang onthe run from the hangman, with the hangman's daughter aiding them intheir getaway, within time they take shelter in a bar located out inthe middle of nowhere & along with some other visitors at the bar, windup fighting the owners & some of their female guests, when it becomesalarmingly clear that they are not human. Basically a remake of theoriginal film, set in the old west, DUSK 3 is still a lot of fun & onceagain features good direction & special effects, definitely worth alook for fans of the series, especially those disappointed with thelast entry. However neither entry that followed after the originalmatched up with the first, but don't be surprised if they come up withanother sequel.***1/2 stars
This movie is great, i saw it three times in the two weeks after it was first released. While the second movie was somewhat of a letdown, this was not. The special effects and acting were as good as they were in FDTD 1. This one may even have a better plot. The best part is how original it is. It isn't your typical vampire movie that takes place in the '90s. This is so different its great. The plot is great, and the acting is too. The very end is awesome. I highly reccomend it to anyone who liked FDTD 1.
After I anticipated that this movie would be like Children Of TheCorn3 (or 4, 5 or 6), I was pleasantly surprised. From Dusk Till Dawn 3 isactually a pretty fun movie, with lots of gore, hot women, vampires, baaddoodes and gunfights. You can say that the Rodriguez brothers took this movie and created theequivalent of a Mexican soap opera with bloodsuckers. As well, Sonia Braga plays the mother of all vampires. Another title wouldbe "The Story of Santanica Pandemonium".Reasonably low budget, loads of spiteful fun.
You know, this film aint too bad at all! this is an entertaining horrorflick that returns to the quality of the first film and away from the puredrivel of the second movie.this is set in the past and we see the Vampire club as it was in the past.Like the first movie in this we see no monster action for the first half andpure blood sucking gore for the entire second half of the film. This not tosay the first half is poor because it isn't. Again like the first movie the first half is different yet very watchable. The acting is very good and the special affect are ok if not spectacular.Thestory is hardly ground breaking but at times this is very funny and in themoments when it was supposed to be, not like in the second movie when it wasfunny when they were trying to be serious! An above average horror that is hard not to like.7 out of 10.
I wasn't too impressed by the first two parts, but hell, once you've seentwo you might as well make it three. Not that I would've missed anything ifI skipped this one...Movie starts out as a western, and this sure is the best part. Classy, stylish shots in the desert, and it even has something of a story. But oncethey come near to that famous bar, you know it's gonna be just like thefirst two movies...Rebecca Gayheart is gorgeous and Michael Parks is great as writer AmbroseBierce, but thats about it.Only watch if you're a big fan of the series, 4/10.
The movie was great, I enjoyed every bit of it, its cool the way itstarts from all western to then when they get to this hotel or whateveryou call it loll, and all hell breaks lose when they discover they'revampires. The acting was good too, I see this one and the first dusktill dawn the best ones. I still liked the Dusk till Dawn 2, but Idon't think it was better than the 1 and second, I wish they bought outanother one!!! To anyone who is skeptical, don't be. This movie isgreat and especially if someone is in to all that cowboy western stuff, defintley recommended, even if your not still a recommended movie towatch!
I don't know why everybody keeps saying it's a lot better than the secondone. I loved part two because I had a blast laughing at how stupidlydirected it is. But in the case of Part three, I found myself bored todeathby one of the poorest films I've seen in my life. As well as the sequel, itlacks any tipe of narrative quality, but I think this one is even worse, anddon't want to see it ever again.
I felt i had to write this comment so that those of you out there who, likeme, watched Dusk Till Dawn 2 & were VERY disappointed, will give this oneago. It is very well made, has lots of lovely gore & girls and, unlikeno.2,has a good script. Trust me, rent this one and you will enjoyyourself...
The third installment of the From Dusk Till Dawn series is much better thanthe second one. Although it is still not as good as the original. Theoriginal being a good movie as far as bad movies go.There was little character developement in this movie, and the plot was abit confused. The action sequences worked well however. Also the onlyannoying camera work in this movie was the tendency towards being overlydark as opposed to the numerous cam shots in the second one (see reviews ofFrom Dusk Till Dawn 2).Oh, there were also some plot gaps, such as how do they know to stab thevampires through the heart to kill them, when the term vampire is neverused?
After seeing the PATHETIC From Dusk Til Dawn 2, wasn't expecting much ,but I was pleasantly surprised. I won't spoil the movie for anyone butthis story (which is actually the prequel to the excellent originalFrom Dusk Til Dawn) is well written and well directed. Great productionvalues, very interesting characters, decent plot, ASTONISHING actionsequences. And WHAT A CAST! Michael Parks is amazing as Ambrose Bierce, TemuraMorrison is terrifying as the Hangman--and then you've got MarcoLeonardi, Sonya Braga, Rebecca Gayheart, and Orlando Jones! All in all, quite an impressive piece of work.
unbelievable! serious action spaghetti western, this movie has pace andpower. if you like the first one, you'll dig this--if you didn't get thefirst one, you might still like the feel and look of the first half (thewestern).
It took me a while to decide when I would rent FDTD3, and when I did I alsopicked up "Carrie 2:The Rage." Both movies took a long time to get startedwith the story and once they did, it was hard to keep track with what wasgoing on unless I really sat down and just watched it. I have seen FDTD2which tried to copy it's illustrious predecessor, but this one took a longtime getting into the origin of Santanico Pandemonium. Ara Celi is no SalmaHayek; she's very attractive, but she doesn't have Salma's sheer smolderingsexuality. I've never considered Rebecca Gayheart very attractive either, but she does pull off a very scary and blood-curdling vampire persona withthose wierded-out psycho eyes of her's. Michael Parks is a convincingAmbrose Bierce, but I was expecting this movie to explain the circumstancesof his disappearance into Mexico. Sonia Braga is barely recognizable underthe vampire make-up (Night of the Demons also over did it with unnecessarymasks), but I couldn't stand the fact that Sonia was supposed to be themother of Esmerelda/Ara Celli; vampires are not supposed to be able toprocreate !The Old West meets Vampires though is a lot better here than inthe movie "Jesse James Meets Dracula" from the Fifties; in fact, that movieshould have been more like this one. While this prequel isn't as good as theoriginal, I do think it's better than the moth-eaten sequel. I give it aseven.
This latest installment into the From Dusk Till Dawn series is actuallypretty good! The previous one was really bad and this one makes up for it.Not as good as the original but pretty close. Not to spoil the setting ofthe movie but a western with vampires? I never thought it could be done butit has and it has been done very well.
