Very Hilarious most see film

This film is very hilarious aired around Christmas, 2002. This was thethird Friday spun from parts one and two. It showed the up and downs ofanother Friday in the low class parts of town on Christmas. Regardlessof the trials they went through that day they made it out of it with agood Christmas. The main characters are Mike Epps and Ice Cube. Mike Epps is the comiccharacter of the film that keep you guessing what he would do next, andIce Cube is the serious cousins that keeps it altogether(DaDa andCraig. The first scene of the movie starts with them getting robed by aperson dressed in a Santa Claus suit, caught by Craig. "Man what youdoing in my house, making a god**** sandwich" Craig fighting for histhings and DaDa in the bed dreaming about things he wants forChristmas. When the fight is over the robber still gets away with allthere things and they are left with no Christmas present and no rentmoney. When the cops are called to the scene they show up very rude andmade it a point to say "Santa Claus strikes again I need to go home andlock my stuff up". The landlord always on there backs tells them theyneed to pay there rent by the end of the day or she's going to send hercareer prison son up to get it.DaDa and Craig start there new job as security on the same day. DaDadecides to go to work and become the employee of the month the firstday. Getting into everything as the day goes on, runs into a group ofLady's singing Christmas songs on the corner decides to say " You'llhoe's need to get up off this corner using God as a crouch" the Lady'srespond " I ain't no killer but don't push me".As the day goes on DaDa kept running into trouble finally mid-day theolder lady grandson returns for retaliation on Craig and DaDa..Nowthere on the clock running from gangsters that wants to harm them.Craig decides the job is not that important and throws away therewhistle and uniform shirts. The gangsters run into there manager andbeats him up. Craig and DaDa sits in his fathers Bar-be-cue restaurantand acts if they were eating lunch the whole time, when the managercome in he fires them for not being around while he's getting beaten. Finally the story ends with them having a fun raiser party for thererent. An altercation breaks out during the party, while Craig goes tobreak it up spots the robber and follows him where he finally catcheshim and gets all his things back and more......Very, Very funny movie

Out of control

I was a little suspicious at first but when I finally saw it, I was glad itwasn't like Next Friday which was kinda dull. This one was funny at firstthen got really out of control at the end, Clifton Powell was the surprisecomedic performance in this as Pinky - g he had me laughing pretty hard butit's John Witherspoon and Mike Epps who really made this funny... This washella fun but not better than Friday, still good though

hold up wait a minute let me put some .... in it!

Bottom of the barrel third entry in the Friday series is supposed to play like "a Christmas in the hood" comedy with the bumbling cousins from the previous FRIDAY film doing a "Christmas Friday". This movie has little to do with the last two FRIDAY movies and even less to do with Christmas. Most of the new characters are obnoxious and the old characters have none of their flare from their previous movies.

Ghetto comedy - 'nuff said

Roommates Craig (Ice Cube) and Day Day (Mike Epps) have to live throughanother Friday. This time around they have to cope with a nigga' assthieving Santa, a couple of pimpy pimps, parking lot security guardbashing youth gangs and with Day Day's unabated stupidness.Honestly I must say that out of all the Friday series the third outingpersonally proved the most enjoyable. Getting rid of any falsepretences we get a frontally assaulting ghetto comedy with some decentlaughs and thankfully limited fart/bowel/barf action. Ice Cube and MikeEpps make a sympathetic duo, which somehow manage to gloss over thescript idiosyncrasies and make the most of how idiotic the whole plotis, without ever turning it into a farce.Mildly entertaining, but fun enough to have a good time and not regretthe experience.

Better than "Next Friday", inferior to original

Let's face it, the first one was the best. It came out of nowhere and became a decent hit which has grown into cult status in a very short amount of time. Chris Tucker and Ice Cube were perfectly matched and had a chemistry so palpable which made for a very enjoyable ride. Then, inexplicably Chris Tucker didn't appear in the sequel "Next Friday" (it was probably his choice not to return after the success of Rush Hour) and he was sorely missed. This second outing in the trilogy was boring beyond belief and, even though I had tried, I couldn't bring myself to like it. Then, I had pretty much given up on the whole Friday thing until a friend of mine recommended that I rent this next installement. He told me he found it very funny and, not really knowing what to expect, I gave it a try. I must say my confidence was restored in the Friday potential and, even though this third act is not as great as it could have been, I found myself enjoying it quite a lot. True, I am like most fans of Friday who all wish "Smokey" would come back. Chris Tucker made this role so memorable that everytime we get a new one, most of us secretly hope he'll be around. Well, no luck here either even though Mike Epps is doing quite a good job and is very funny in this. John Witherspoon as the father is always hilarious to watch and I found myself captivated by the pimp character, dressed in flamboyant costumes with an attitude to match. He was probably the best new character in the film in my opinion along with the new big tug around the block involved in a delicious storyline with homoerotic overtones. My one regret about the Friday movies is the fact that Ice Cube doesn't give us the whole family anymore. What made the first one so enjoyable was the fact that they were all part of the scheme of things but now, we never get to see Craig's sister and his mother is only featured in a small thankless role. Frankly, she deserves much better. There are some very nice gags and I laughed out loud at many of them. I must say I don't really care much for the infinifilm gimmick where you see the film as different options to watch the behind the scenes stuff became available all throughout. I either want to watch the movie without interruption or watch the special features and mixing the two is not my idea of fun. But maybe that's just me. In conclusion, this third one is a good effort. It also made me hopeful that the fourth one (I am pretty sure there will be one according to what the actors said in the documentaries) will be even better, if we can finally have the chance to see every member of the family have a bigger part in the story. Good comedy worth a shot!

i thought it was okay.

This movie has a lot more going for it than the second one, but still notasgood as the first. Unless they are able to get Chris Tucker to come back(which I doubt), then they should move on to something else. This onecouldhave been much more better but more so worse. I you liked the first 1 andwas able to bare the second one, then this one is worth checkingout.

Waste of Time

This movie was not good at all. I liked the first two movies but I cannotsay the same for the last one. I think Cube and Epps are a great team onfilm but this movie was so bad I don't think anything could have savedit. The movie was pointless! I laughed two or three times at the most andmostof what I did laugh at I had seen in the trailers. The best part was whenEpps character was yelling at the old women in front of the liquor store.Cube is not funny at all and the movie was the same as the other two. Itwasabout Craig and Day-Day trying to get money they owed before an overlylargeman beat them up. Even Craigs' dad who I think is the funniest characterwasnot funny at all. I know people who liked the first two movies will seethisregardless, but if you are just going to see it because you think itlooksfunny don't.

3rd Friday Makes A Better Coaster Than A DVD!

"Friday After Next" tries to be both a successful addition to the Friday series and an effective "holiday in the hood" movie and by all means, fails at both. Ice Cube reprises his role as both writer and actor for this very dissapointing third installment. Craig and his cousin, Day-Day have moved back to South Central where they work as rent-a-cops at a shopping plaza on Christmas Eve. With their rent money stolen by an evil Santa Claus the night before, they need to come up on some quick cash and fast. With Day-Day's buffonish antics getting the duo in some serious trouble with their equaly-goofy boss who runs a donut shop at the plaza, they may be out of a job before the day ends. "Friday After Next" is such a poor effort at continuing what was once a decent comedy franchise. Cube is just as solid a "straight man" as he was in the first film but his supporting cast has gotten noticeably weaker. Giving Mike Epps more to do and say doesn't help this movie either. Fifteen minutes into it, I was practically begging for Chris Tucker. Terry Crews as the muscle-bound bully plays like a watered-down version of Tiny Lister's "Deebo" with a painfully unfunny and uncreative "prison homsexual" gimmick thrown on. The joke never dies and dramatized scenes of the character raping another male character in the bathroom for the sake of humor are about as low brow as you can get. There are a few funny lines here and there (enough to fit into one of the ads) but all of the absolutetly dumb and stereotypical characters kill what little humor there is. Cube's script is about as uninspired as you get. Did anyone notice there are at least two or three characters who serve the same purpose as one another? "Friday After Next" brings a lot of special features to a movie that in all honesty is not nearly worth the effort. If you are a fan of the Friday trilogy, the DVD may be worth it for the features but your best bet is to act like this movie doesn't exist. If as much time and effort was brought to making the movie as was the DVD, it might have made for something worthwhile.

100 Thumbs Down

This movie is just horrible. No matter who you are you will probably be offended by it in some way. Imean if you are a woman, you will be majorly offended by it. If you are aman you will be offended by it.If you think it's funny to hit an old woman and give her a concussion, thenyou'll enjoy this movie. But you would probably be in jail so youwouldn'tbe able to see this movie anyway.I feel so sorry for the actors in this movie. I hope life gets better forthem so they don't have to make such bad movies like this.

Movie so good, makes you wanna SLAP YO MAMA!

This movie was typical ghetto humor, which I love!! This is my leastfavourite out of the three Friday movies but it still delivers the goods.Ireally like DAMON, the ex con who gives Craig and Day Day a hard time. It'sso funny when he becomes attracted to that pimp, money Mike, and tell histhat he likes his bitches wet, like a fish! The DVD is a must have. Ithasa lot of great features, including a "pop up video" kind ofextra!

This Friday was pretty lame

I think this series has run its cause with this film, I loved the firstmovie, the second movie wasn't great but still fun and the third moviewas just pretty lame few chuckles here and there and thats not enough,I was kinda bored throw most of it. Its just that most jokes fall flatthere were only about six jokes that made me chuckle as I said butstill I say skip it, if you want a good Friday watch the first movie oreven rent the second movie this is the lamest and and least funny ofthe series but still not bad enough to hate just we have seen it donebefore and better. To be on the positive side, yes as I said I gotabout six chuckles and Ice Cube was good and the side actors were goodtoo but they needed a better script.

Hilarious Movie

When I first saw Friday After Next, I was not impressed with the storyline.I thought that it was a bad attempt at a sequel...that is until I watched iton DVD (someone else bought it). I was then able to slowly enjoy thequick-wit of Day-Day and Craig's distorted yet loving relationship. But thecharacter that stole the entire movie was the "lucky charm midget pimp"Money Mike. His presence on the screen was side-splitting funny! I believethat without Money Mike, Friday After Next would have been just anothermediocre attempt at comedy. My favorite part in the movie was when Money Mike said:"Speaking of cockroaches, where were your antennas when them ****** werestealing my ****?""I didn't see them steal anything""Well, use your eyes next time. Look. They ain't just supposed to be hazel, they supposed to do some god**** work around here. I don't do this for play.I don't do this for fun.""I'm sorry""Don't be sorry, hoe, be careful. Lord Jesus....you know what? I am tired ofyour presence. Dismissed!"

I took for what it was supposed to be

Friday After Next to me wasn't as good as the first time nor was itcompletetrash. The film had plenty of funny gags but they weren't back to backlikethe previous films. Mike Epps is still funny but Kat Micah Williams andTerry Crews still the movie from him. If you want some tasteless fun thencheck this out.

Better than Next Friday, but not the first.

For the second straight time, Mike Epps replaces Tucker, but he plays Craig's (Ice Cube) cousin. Don't get me wrong, he's funny. But come on. Thats Chris Tucker. But anyway, this time the two are owing rent money by the nightfall or the landlords diesel son Damon is going to set them straight. One thing about him. He should try setting himself straight first. The two are security guards in a mini mall and Day-Day (Epps) is taking his job a little too seriously. Until finally they catch two people stealing at the store next door to they're fathers barbeque, they invite the pimp owner to come to they're Christmas Party that night. Unfortunately for him, he runs into Damon in the bathroom and the rest is just crazy. Many funny parts, but still think it could've been funnier with Tucker.

Lock Your Doors and Bar Your Windows. Santa Claus is Coming to the Hood!

Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the hood, everything wasquiet, and this was not good; Craig Jones and his cousin Day Day havefinally moved out of their parents' houses and into their own crib atthe Shady Palms Apartment complex off Crenshaw. Friday 3:37 AM,Christmas Eve, a low-down robber dressed as Santa Claus broke intoCraig and Day Day's apartment and began stealing their Christmaspresents, their stereo, and just as he was making himself a sandwich,Craig discovered him and jumped him. They get into a scuffle. But theSanta had the advantage. He beat Craig with the Christmas tree and gotaway. At dawn, bumbling police officers B. Dix and A. Hole, arrive andwhen they heard these boys were robbed by Santa Claus, they wereskeptical. As soon as the cops left, Craig and Day Day's nastylandlady, Miss Pearly, arrived and demanded the rent. Unfortunately therent money was in the stereo that got ripped off. They weren't afraidof her, but they were absolutely terrified of her son Damon. He madeDeebo look like a pussycat. Damon had just spent 12 years in the penand now he was out, he developed a craving for companionship.Prison-style companionship. He also told Craig and Day Day that if theydidn't have the rent money by nightfall, he was going to really havehis way with them. After that, Craig and Day Day head for work. That's right, theimpossible has happened. They finally have jobs. They work as securityguards at the outlet mall where their fathers have gone into business.Willie Jones is no longer a dogcatcher and together with his brotherElroy have opened a place called Brothers Barbecue: Taste So Good, MakeYou Wanna Slap Your Mama; The boys were employed by a man named Molywho ran the entire outlet mall and was the proprietor of fly-infestedHoly Moly Donuts; Craig and Day Day spent most of the morning arguingin their security booth. Then, Day Day accosted and cursed at some oldladies for singing Christmas carols, and did the same thing to somekids in front of the toy store. But then, outside of the Pimps & Hosclothing store, Craig saw a very pretty girl named Donna. He attemptedto hit on her, but unfortunately Day Day had the same idea, so itdidn't go too smoothly; Day Day and Craig go out back on their breakand have a joint. Elroy joins them, just then they're held at gun pointby the Santa Claus robber! He steals Elroy's Rolex and makes a cleanget away. Worse yet, a street gang heard what Craig and Day Day did tothe carolers, and they did not look friendly. Craig and Day Day runlike the wind as the gangsters give chase. Fortunately our heroes hideon the roof of Pimps & Hos, while the gangsters met up with Moly. Theygive him a message for Craig and Day Day: they beat him up. After that,Day Day and Craig decide to quit, and soon after, Moly fires them;Meanwhile, Miss Pearly decided to snoop around the Jones' apartment.Luckily Day Day's pit bull Cheeco caught her in the end. Literally.Craig and Day Day's Christmas party would still be held that night, buthow would they raise their rent money? Craig decided to charge hisguests and take up a collection. Willie and Elroy were there, Donnacame too, along with Money Mike, local pimp and owner of Pimps & Hos.Day Day's old boss Pinky came and brought some very sexy girls. Damonwas there too, and he began to take a liking to Money Mike. He followedhim into the john. Luckily Mike managed to find Damon's weakness byapplying a pair of pliers to his testicles. He takes Damon outside.Craig and Day Day follow. But unfortunately when Mike attempted to getDamon into his car, Donna drove off without him, and those plierswouldn't hold for long, so a furious Damon chased Money Mike all overthe neighborhood. Suddenly, Craig spotted the Santa Claus robber, andhe and Day Day tail him into his hideout where they jump him. Craigbeats him with a Christmas tree, but then Santa escapes and they chasehim all over the neighborhood, in and out of yards, even houses, including that of a mean, shotgun-toting old man, and the unfriendlygangsters from earlier. Santa made it out to the street thinking he gotaway with it when suddenly he was mowed down by Pinky's chauffeur.Craig and Day Day catch the Kris Kringle criminal and reclaim all theirpossessions. They leave him tied up on the roof in a sleigh; Epilogue:Santa remained on the roof for a while, Damon chased Mike all overcreation, and Day Day and Craig gave themselves early Christmaspresents and got it on with some FINE girls. Oh yeah.Friday After Next. This movie was hilarious. Just as good as the firsttwo. This is it with the Friday series for now, but I hope they makeanother movie soon. Ice Cube is back as Craig, and he's as funny asever. Mike Epps is back as Day Day, and he's a riot. He's also thatshotgun toting old man towards the end. Also here: John Witherspoon asWillie, Don 'D.C.' Curry as Elroy, Clifton Powell back as Pinky, KattWilliams as Money Mike, and K.D. Aubert as Donna. All very good in thismovie. As you may have noticed, Chris Tucker hasn't returned as Smokeyagain. Maybe in a future Friday movie or Smokey may have his own movie?Anyway, if you've seen Friday and Next Friday, then please, see FridayAfter Next. It's hilarious. It's loaded with foul language and finegirls. You won't be disappointed. Friday After Next is top-flightentertainment for any day of the week. I recommend it.-

Doesn't compare to orginal friday!

this movie is completely ridiculous. It has no point and the little plotitdoes have is WEAK! It's just one of those movies that should go straighttovideo if even that, and that dumb teenage boys will need to rent whenboredand done playing their playstations. there was maybe only one or two funnyparts, other than those, i hardly see the hype.

campblood13 2012-04-27 23:09:12

Very funny

This movie is funny from start to finish. We have Craig and Day-Day gettinginto all kinds of trouble. The first half of the movie takes place at thestrip mall with the funniest scenes involving Money Mike. He is little pimpthat looks like Prince. Day-Day tells a group of church women to get offthe corner because he thinks they are there trying to turn tricks. Thefunniest scene in the movie is when Money Mike goes to the bathroom and isfollowed by Damon. That scene had me laughing. I enjoyed it even though Iwas the only white person in the theater in backwoods Louisiana. It wasThanksgiving night and the placed was packed. Everybody loved it and so didI. 5/10
