THIS is the reason to go to the movies!

Before I comment on the film, a few caveats1) I really enjoyed FD1-2,and 4. I couldn't stomach #3 for some reason.2) In general, I can appreciate a 'leave your brains at the door'horror movie and accept it for what it is. 3) I saw this in IMAX 3D 4)I DESPISE 3D and think it is the #1 killer of the movie industry. Ionly saw this in 3D because of some reviews that said that was the onlyway to see it, and after seeing #4 in 2D it strangely looked like itwould have been better in 3D.So I took a chance and spent $14 to see this film in IMAX 3D.I can't comment what this would look like in 2D or non-IMAX 3D, but Ican assure you that this film was MADE for IMAX 3D!EVERY SCENE had a 3D effect to it! Whether it was just adding depth soyou felt 'right there' or some body parts or killing instruments beingthrown at you, this was the ONLY film that I thought actually madeeffective use of the technology. (Caveat #5 - I did not see Avatar in3D).The movie was a typical FD film until about 2/3rd into it, when itbecame something else for 10 minutes. To keep this spoiler free, Iwon't tell you what it became, but it was GREAT! Changing genres at theend of a movie almost never works, but somehow the director made thisfeel a natural transition and it really AMPED up the action! Based onthose scenes alone, I feel the director has more talent than just astandard horror film and am looking forward to seeing what else thisguy does. For FD fans - you know what you are getting into. Though I felt thisfilm actually a little more depth to at least some of the characters, and the lead wanting to be a chef was a nice change of pace for a filmlike this. The deaths do not disappoint, and there were quite a few scenes thatbuilt up tension nicely, so I was actually biting my nails in suspense(something I rarely do, folks!).The ending was also a nice variation on how these things end.Of course, like FD2-4 this is not a sequel, but really a remake withdifferent people.. That's fine as long as you understand the formula.I had a BLAST!! The opening credits on a huge screen in 3D was worththe price of admission alone! And the big death scene in the beginning? In my humble opinion, I felt it ranked up there with the motorwayincident on #2. Yes, I felt it was that good.I actually would like to see this again! Some of the kills came so fastthat I wanted to back up the DVD to watch it again - but I realized Icouldn't because I was in the theater!Spending $14 for ONE ticket and coming away feeling that it was worthevery dollar says a lot.If you love FD1-4 then this is a no brainer. But PLEASE see it in 3D.. And IMAX if possible.8/10.For those who never saw or hated FD1-4 : please look elsewhere. Nothingreally different here.

A strong sequel, better than I expected.

After witnessing 2009's cinematic train-wreck, and I was hoping, last, installment of the "Final Destination" series, I was kind of appalledand disgusted when I heard that there was going to be yet another one.I generously gave "The Final Destination" a D- grade, for many reasons. It gave into the at-the-time lucrative and exciting 3D gimmick, anddidn't deliver on the concept as it was said to. It was a typicalhorror movie, not bringing anything new to the table at all. While thatwas expected, it did give some mildly entertaining death scenes, whilenot necessarily being creative. It featured lousy acting, and an endingthat made me happy I didn't pay to see it, as I was working at themovie theatre at that time. It wasn't even good, on a comedic level. However, I left "Final Destination 5" a little happier than I did itsprevious installment. While it's still only for horror fans, it'spretty damn entertaining, and it's more character-driven than the lastcouple installments have been. Its death scenes are just as creativeand fun as they should be, and it made me regain a little bit of myhope in 3D film-making. It's the same story as it's always been. A gifted (and hot) earlytwenty-something (Nicholas D'Agosto) with apparently psychic abilitieshas a vision of him and all of his friends dying in a dramaticaccident. He tells everybody, and witnesses them all die one-by-one,doing everything he can to stop it, but realizing, death can't becheated. In this one, though, there's a little twist, which is a smallreason why this film isn't bad as the last few have been. While there'sa selected list of who dies next, if the person who's next killssomeone, death skips them…or does it?It's no spoiler, as it's been proved in the four previous movies, eachcharacter meets their coup de grace in a quite dramatic way. This onegives you a brief, but worthwhile back-story on each of its characters. It makes you see them as semi-established characters, rather than justteenagers who are about to kick the bucket. However, why I liked this one is because of its death scenes. They wereten kinds of awesome. There's even a little montage at the end, ofcreative death scenes from the previous four movies, like acompilation. While its death scenes have never been plausible, as ifthey could happen in real life, they don't ask to be taken seriously. In a particularly good (and kind of sad) scene, a character is killedby a Lasik surgery machine. That could never happen in real life, for alot of reasons. But, it's great fun to watch. As is thedeath-by-acupuncture scene. Also, the film should be noted, because it was filmed in 3D. It shows. As you might already have noticed, I don't particularly like 3D films.I'd forever opt to see the 2D version of a film, if it was offered inaddition to the 3D, this is because most films are shot in 2D, andconverted to 3D at the last minute. This was CLEARLY filmed in 3D, andit makes damn good use of it. Stuff pops out at you, almost constantly, throughout the film, and it looks, and feels kind of awesome. This is probably not the last film in the series, as it will more thanlikely be a box-office success. I feel like this is a good time forthem to end the series. They made two good ones, had a couple lousyones, and if they end the series now, they will have bowed out on arelatively good note. But this is not a "Saw" movie, I will welcomewhatever they bring out next.Grade: B

its worth you time & money spent !!

Saying the above, doesn't make this a Oscar nominee.. but yes its oneof the best FD's I saw since the 1st & the 2nd. Its completely worthyour money & time. Do spend those extra bucks for 3D to get the most ofit.. The opening sequence of the disaster is all that makes you feel thatyou money is well spent... & then things that follow are more likecherry on the cake..I wont be spoiling the fun by writing the spoilers... but yes... Adefinitely must watch for all the FD fans!! GO FOR IT!!& "Y'all just be careful now."

Back to the roots

I guess everyone felt that the Final Destination series was declining(no pun intended). Many might have liked the second movie, but thethird one was the breaking point for many (I still kinda like theinventive death scenes in that). Fourth part is by far the worst(rating wise), but was named "The Final Destination", which suggestedit was the end. And while this might not have been entirely true, itwas a good thing they came up with this "final" installment of theseries. This one goes back to what made the first one so good. And it's not theonly thing that can be linked with those movies. Tony Todd is "back"again and you have the same premise as with the other movies. But inthe end it proves to be more than that. And I'm not only talking abouta (3-D) reprise of all the Deaths of the other movies put during theend credits ...

KineticSeoul 2012-05-21 23:47:18

Back to it's roots of being somewhat intriguing

The first two Final Destination movies was pretty good for it's time, but started to fall apart with it's 3rd and 4th sequels. The last twobefore this one weren't super terrible movies but was far from beinggood either. Like it was easy cash in without much effort being putinto it just relying on the franchise. This one is somewhat of a rehashof the previous movie but it seemed to have gotten more effort put intoit. The CGI in this movie is actually really well done and believable. If you seen the previous movies in this franchise the first few scenesare really predictable and doesn't hold much tension because you willknow what is going to happen. But as it progresses it gets somewhatintriguing and has some tension going for it. Tony Todd as WilliamBludworth makes a appearance as the mysterious man that knows exactlywhat is going on. The acting in this one is awful and you just can'ttake it seriously sometimes, but the death scenes I guess makes up forit. Seeing how there is more tension in this one. This one is a worthyinstallment to this franchise, just wonder how it's going to keep upthe pace for the next installment. Cause this one was a bit of arehash.6/10

My review on Final destination 5

I had low expectations when I entered the theater to see the 5thinstallment of the FD series, because the 4th movie was such adisappointment. But after watching it, I was surprised. First off, this movie was way,( and I mean), way better then the lasttwo movies were. It was darker and had a lot of elements from the firstmovie, which I loved. I don't want to give away too much, but I do wantto say that the last scene of the movie will leave you speechless. Ithad me thinking, "OMG, that was AMAZING how they came up with thattwist." One last thing I loved about this movie was that it was well plannedout and thought of, unlike the forth movie which was a joke and in myopinion, shouldn't have never been made. The deaths weren't rushed asopposed to the deaths in the forth movie, and it gave more screen timeto introduce us to the characters. Note: I will say that there is one death scene in the movie that Ididn't see coming, besides the ending. I recommend you see this movie. It might have the same theme as thefirst four movies, but unlike the first four, it's on a much higherscale.

Final Destination 5 meaning it isn't Final but Milked

Final Destination 5 is the same movie you may have seen four timesprior and of course if you have not then don't bother (with theexception of the very first film).FD5 brings one new minor plot device to the series, kill or be killed, but this isn't nearly enough to distract the viewer from the fact everyother sequence of events unfolds exactly as they have in the previousfilms. The acting here isn't anything special at all and the film is sopredictable the only thing you're watching it for is how people die. Ifyou're a gore-hound I could see you having some enjoyment from thisfilm but otherwise skip it.Final Destination has not been reinvigorated with new life, it has nopromising future, and at this point it is simply being created becauseit can be "milked" for a decent profit.

Jduder 2012-05-19 04:29:58

Best Movie Since The 2nd one.

Well well well. This was a complete surprise. I was expecting a really dumb FinalDestination film full of dumb and rushed deaths, but I was extremelysurprised at how this movie took it's time to develop almost all thecharacters before killing them in shocking and sometimes unexpectedways. This movie also manages to be darker than the previous films bythrowing in a neat little twist than what the other films offered. AndOMG!!! I most certainly did not see that twist coming in the end, itwas a far better ending than the previous films. So in summary if youloved the previous Final Destination films then this is a must see.

Dylan Kozak 2012-05-18 19:17:54

It's Final Destination, what can I say?

Quite a bit actually. Rumor has it that the producers wanted to makesure this installment would be darker, similar to the first FinalDestination, in contrast to the ***t-fest that was The FinalDestination (4). And... that's exactly what we got. That's not to say Iwasn't laughing at a lot of things during this movie (not bothering the2 other people in the theater). So let's dive into the fourth sequel.First of all, the credits are just a 3-D gimmick, with things that havepreviously killed (or will end up killing) victims of the moviesbreaking through glass as they fly at us. They are far too long and Iwas only getting through it by naming what movie it killed someone in.If the story is a surprise to you, go get your IQ checked. The acting in this is much better than 3 and 4. I was actuallysurprised at the emotional turmoil some characters had coping with thedeaths of their co-workers and loved ones. Yet for most of thecharacters it doesn't seem to last long. Only Peter seems to care thewhole time, but that seems to be to the point of insanity. I'm going toguess that was part of the writing, so acting gets a 5/10.There's a stupid sub-plot of what happens with the relationship betweenour protagonist Sam and his girlfriend Molly. In the opening scene, they break up. We later find out it's because Sam is a chef and wantsto take an apprenticeship in Paris. Why is this important to the plot? You'll see. But that sub-plot shouldn't exist, its importance couldhave been set up in just a bit of dialogue. But then our movie would betoo short.Earlier I said I was laughing at many things in this movie. It wasn'tbad dialogue... okay yes it was. Well it wasn't the deaths... that's alie too. Everything was just dumb. A character named Isaac is this fasttalking insensitive selfish nerd who has an awkward scene at a massagetherapy parlor that seems more out of a comedy than Final Destination. The boss, Dennis, isn't a character. He just says stuff and people arescared of him. Peter is an emo dude, Candice is his gymnast girlfriend, and they also have their Token Black Guy, Nathan. To top it all off,the groupie slut, Olivia. She only takes her shirt off once though. Ifeel like I've digressed a bit too much, so I'll just move on.The deaths are boring. And that's good. The most graphic we get is inthe premonition, when Candice is impaled on a (get this) sailboat mast.We see intestines and... that's really the best we get. She later diesof... lots of broken bones. She falls off a gymnastic bar thing andsomehow manages to break every bone in her body, most likely includingher neck. This death is ridiculous and impossible for many reasons Iwill not get in to. Isaac gets his head crushed by a Buddha statue,Olivia falls out a window, Dennis gets a wrench to the face, Peter getsstabbed. Boring. But now let us move on to the script, which I mustgive the movie credit for.The script consists of the regular Final Destination formula: CharacterExposition; Premonotion; Deaths. But this time, there's a twist. Thecreepy morgue guy, Bludworth, tells four of the remaining survivors(Molly never died in the premonition) that if they killed somebody whohad nothing to do with the bridge, they would regain their life. Neat, huh? Except for one thing... IT NEVER WORKS!! Nathan kills this guynamed Roy he doesn't like, but gets killed anyway because that guy wasalready going to die a different way according to Death's plan. Thismeans that Nathan should have died before Dennis, because in the orderof the premonition, he was next. But nope, he dies last. Can you sayPlot-hole? Also, Peter kills a federal agent, and is then killed bySam. OOPS! Now here's the real kicker that is both good and bad: Thismovie is not in the present time. In fact, it's a prequel. This takesplace... BEFORE THE FIRST MOVIE! Surprised the hell out of me. Yet thisis simply a case of making ***t up as they go along, because if that'sthe case, why was the "kill or be killed" rule never re-introduced?Anyway, we know this is a prequel because Sam and Molly get on theplane to Paris, the same plane Alex from the original was on. You knowwhat that means, Sam and Molly die in that plane crash. OOPS! I guessDeath just felt like breaking the rules himself. Then the worst part ofthe movie comes... the plane lands on Nathan. Yep, it lands on himwhile he's at a memorial service for the guy he killed. Nobody lives. So, writers? You listening? If you're going to add that little twist...HAVE IT AMOUNT TO SOMETHING!!! In spite of the small praise I've given it, this movie has its issues.I'd just like to stress that I did not hate this like I did 3 and 4.5/10.

Nothing We Haven't Seen 4 Times Already

"Final Destination 5" A Movie Review By Nick Iacobucci No matter whereyou go, no matter where you hide…you can't cheat death. Hello there toeverybody in cyberspace I am movie critic Nick Iacobucci here as alwaysfor ReelScreenReviews.com, and our film review this time around is thenext chapter of the successful horror franchise "Final Destination 5".This movie opened on Friday August 12th, 2011, and it features EmmaBell, Miles Fisher, Nicholas D'Agosto, and Courtney B. Vance. This"Final Destination" adventure comes to us from director Steve Quale, the co-director of "Aliens of the Deep" with James Cameron, and the TVmovie "Superfire" from 2002. This time around Mr. Quale attempts tobring something to a franchise that I believe seems to supplyabsolutely nothing. Now the first Final Destination movie was actually a pretty good horrormovie with a decent plot line. The main character in each movie has apremonition of a catastrophic event moments before it happens. He orshe then convinces a small group of people to follow and because ofthis, these characters wind up escaping death. As the film progressesyou find out that they will all be killed in the order that they weresupposed to in the opening tragedy. Why, because you can't cheat death.Well people this time around the only thing that has changed is thecatastrophe that occurs at the beginning of this film. At the start ofthis 3-D adventure our disaster takes down a suspension bridge in thenormal gruesome and bloody fashion. People fall to their demise andmeet death in the most interesting of ways, but once again this is justthe same old tale. One big question would be how did we ever get to part 5 in this series?Well to answer that question you would have to understand thatHollywood and studio films are part of a business first andartistically important second. The previous "Final Destination" filmwas one of the most lucrative and successful in the series, and justlike the comparable "Saw" franchise, it seems to have incorporated the3-D effects for no other reason than to sugarcoat a franchise gonestale. I believe that the filmmakers knew that these stories ran out ofgas a couple of movies ago, but lucky for us they continue to churnthese babies out one after the next. Now gymnastics, fire & explosions, acupuncture, falling from a window, machine shop accidents, and LASIK surgery stand in for the creativebereavements that we encounter in this feature. Now these are all seenin the trailer and once again the same old stuff, however this newFinal Destination adds 1 new plot twist. If you are the target ofdeath, and you can deliver another to death's door, well then you willbe spared. Now if you think about it, our characters must now becomemurderers in order to survive, and just how are we supposed tosympathize with that? Then Tony Todd shows up as almost a visualnarrator. He appears out of nowhere and shows up for no other purposethan to explain everything that is going on to anyone that hasn't seenthe last 4 films. And then I just can't believe that Courtney B. Vanceis even in this project. Not the actor, but the man himself is just sosmart, and radiates such intelligence; he is completely out of place inthis movie. The "Final Destination" movies are anything but quality projectsanymore, and even for the horror genre this is just substandard. Theonly way that this wouldn't be a complete waste of time for somebody isif you were 16 years old and sneaking into your first "R" rated movie. If you have seen the previous "Final Destination" films then you havealready seen this one, and if you haven't seen the previous "FinalDestination" films then I envy you immensely. When I see a movie like "Piranha 3-D" the filmmakers out and out goright for the movie cheese, Limburger actually in that case. Howeverthis like the previous installments there are moments when the directoractually tries to incorporate drama into the project, and to that Ianswer…are you kidding me or what? At just under 90 minutes "FinalDestination 5" is everything you can expect, with absolutely nosurprises, fun, or even talent along the way. If you have enjoyed thefilms in this franchise then God help you, but you will most likely beentertained by this one as well. My view is that if you are going tobring almost nothing to the big screen in the first place…then why evenmake the movie at all? 1 star out of 4. And thank you for yourattention.

Michael O'Keefe 2012-05-17 18:23:33

Suspension bridge of death.

Could this actually be the finale of the FINAL DESTINATION franchise?Steven Quale directs a group of co-workers on their way to a corporateretreat. As the private bus makes its way onto a suspension bridge oneof the colleagues gets a premonition about the bridge being unstablecausing a horrific collapse. A small group do manage to survive; butthe shaken survivors begin getting killed in the order they escapeddeath on the crashing bridge. In spite of survivor's guilt, there seemsto be an unseen entity, possibly Death itself...not satisfied with theliving. Starring are: Nicholas D'Agosto, Emma Bell, Courtney B. Vance,David Koechner, Ellen Wroe, P.J. Byrne, Miles Fisher and ArlenEscarpeta. It seems the scenes of violence have gotten more gruesome, possibly why I like this better than the previous four.

Quite good actually...

I was surprised to see a part 5 of this movie franchise, but it was awelcomed one though. And it was with some anticipation that I sat downto watch it.Initially, the story here in part 5 is the same as in the previous fourmovies. Despite liking all movies, seen with a reviewer's eyes, thestory has been abused a tad too many times now. I mean, seriously, itis just the same story over and over in all 5 movies. But what makes itworthwhile and worth watching is the inventive and cruel ways thatpeople meet their demise at. At least that is it for me, it is whatdrives me to keep watching these movies. I want to see what ways peopledie, and I want to see the effects. If you are a fan of the series, you definitely want to check out part 5as well, as it is every bit as entertaining as the previous four, andthe ways people die in this movie was cool - as in the previous moviesas well. And the effects were quite nice, and it had just enough goreto keep most gorehounds well-fed as well.Despite enjoying the movie and the deaths, five movies cooked on thesame broth is just getting too thin. You know the story already beforeyou sit down to watch the movie, it is not a matter of if they die, itis a matter of how they die.One thing that was awesome in part 5 was the way they made it come fullcircle with the first original movie. That was a very inventive strokeof genius on the writer's part. Thumbs up for that twist, it was wellworth it.The cast in "Final Destination 5" was pretty good. Again, lots ofnicely talented young actors and actresses, and people here did a greatjob with their roles and bringing their characters out on the screen."Final Destination 5" is well worth a watch, if for nothing else, thenfor the death scenes alone.

Taking Final Destination to another dimension

I personally consider this Final Destination an amazing - well thoughtmovie. This is not my first time seeing a 3D movie in the Cinema but Igot to say it blew me away, stunning CGI, It's overwhelming howrealistic it actually looks, makes you gasp every time something islodged out of the screen.I'm quite a fan of Final Destination, I have the first 3 in DVD(BoxSet), I did not purchase the 4th as I thought it was not good, butFinal Destination 5 certainly redeemed itself. So lets talk about thedeaths - They are crazy man! haha, They are so devious and detailed -Whoever helped come up with the ideas is sick lets just say. I got that"kick in the stomach" feeling in particular death scenes, probably dueto how real it looked, totally convincing and nothing is "reallyexaggerated" perhaps like some of the previous movies. In terms of any criticism I could give, the only think I can think ofwould be the acting, It's not really bad, but the main guy inparticular, I felt a little unconvinced at his emotions that's all..but it's just a matter of opinion. I would really recommend this toanyone who is a fan of the series, but don't hesitate to bring somefriends or a family member, as there are some parts that are quitehumorous and disturbing of course. The Ending - I would probably consider this one of the best movieendings ever and I believe it's important for films to have a goodending otherwise it may change the viewers opinion about the wholemovie in general. I'm not going to give anything away but it gave meMAJOR goosebumps and still does just thinking about it.Whoever thought of this movie was a genius, just amazing!

Slightly Better

Well people , if you have seen the previous films there is no need forme to tell you what this movie is , because its the exact same story asalways, but what made me write a review for this one and not the othersis that to my opinion this was the best one so far for number ofreasons: 1.There is finally a plot, people! unlike the others which had a weakand shallow plot , this one has a better one and the writing hasimproved by far.2.Better casting.much better. still not a first-class cast , but no onedemands a first class cast from a movie with this budget. so to mybelieve , with the money that was in hand they came up with ainadequate cast. but i would still say the best acting was by TonyTodd. really creepy.3.The visuals is much better, you don't see much of that fake dyinganymore. but again keep in mind that this is not a huge budget film ,so that visual could be better. but you can live with it.4.The 3D. this is something that did it for me. No matter how routinethe story is if you make it entertaining(not just some none senseaction) you still have a chance of people enjoying it and 3D is one ofthe ways that can you make this happen. Honestly i didn't have anyexpectation watching this in 3D, but after i realized that it was worthit.5.The ending. this also really worked for me. We know the ending isalways surprising, but this time is just slightly different. So getready to hear lots of HOLY S***** in the theater.6.Last but not least, is the Humor that's added to the film. there arebunch of funny lines that you didn't have before in the series, so youdon't really expect it coming. a good change . but some might find itquite awkward because your dealing with death. So for those of you who wanna see a good 3D film, or want to be grossedout a bit, or just want to spend a night watching a different moviethat you usually watch with your loved ones, this would be a prettygood choice.Overall : 6/10

Bloody brilliant!

We've all seen the first 4, we all know the score here. Disaster thendeath. That's basically it but what makes them so popular? Theoutrageous death scenes? the opening disaster? Well in this sequel it'sa combination of both plus brilliant directing and good characters. Ididn't particularly like the first one, but I loved the second, likedthe third and sort of felt cheated by the fourth, now unusually itsthis fith one that puts it on par with the second, or maybe actuallybetter!Let's start with the opening. We all know the opening is usually thebest bit, well this is certainly no disappointment what so ever! Thebridge collapse is easily the best disaster from any other finaldestination film. It is completely insane and horrific and will haveany gore-hound delighted with the sheer carnage that caresses thescreen. The special effects are nothing short of amazing and thetension is fantastic! Even though you know that they'll all going todie in the opening, you actually feel quite scared for them and findyourself biting your nails at the suspense of the suspension falling. The opening is just one reason alone to see it.Then we're introduced to the characters who are actually quite likable, even the ones who are obviously meant to be unlikable actually have acharacter and even though the fat womaniser is a horrible character, hewas quite funny to watch. The first death is a masterclass in suspense,it had my heart pounding about a little prick (stop it!) The directingby Steven is incredible. It's taken seriously and is full on hightension (a bit like Aja's directing in "High Tension").This is what sets "Final Destination 5" apart from all the other filmsin the franchise. It is actually tense and fun at the same time. Thedeath scenes are easily the goriest yet. The laser eye surgery bit hadme squirming and cringing in my seat (I can't deal with eyes) and eventhe death scenes without eyes were really intense and quite shocking. If you're a fan of the "Final Destination" series, then without a doubtyou must see this (I suppose you would anyway if your a fan) and seeingit in 3D only enhances the shock value! It's full on suspense, tensionand great gore. The ending is also quite clever but not as great aseveryone's saying. My only complaint would be it wasn't long enough, Icould have see more. Anywho see it, it's worth your hard earned money.

Best FD movie yet!

To be honest, this is the best FD movie I've seen. Its got a lot ofgreat stuff that made the first 2 movies great! Final destination 5 hasgreat death scenes. So great that it seems real. I loved the first 2movies, but the 3rd and 4th was horrible. This movie brought back mylove for the series and made me watch the whole thing. I love how theaction is really a "thriller" like it says. This movie had me shaking alot. I love the vision he had as well. The first death was gross andhad gore! I loved that death! When she broke her spine. Haha what alaugh that was. The next deaths were great as well and i loved how theending was! The ending was that peter took the officers life to extendhis, however peter is killed when his best friend protects his girlfriend. However, Sam and his girl friend get on a plane for Paris. OHNO! GASP! A PLANE? In the FINAL DESTINATION SERIES? Yes! Thats right. They get on the plane and witness a BIG slap in the face, Alex andcarter fighting and some teens getting throne off a plane. Woops. thenafter the plane takes off, its too late. Sadly Sam heres a lady saythat the kid had a vision. Then the plane side breaks off and hisgirlfriend falls out and gets cut in 2 and Sam gets baked like a cheesedoodle! This movie is the BEST movie I've seen and i take that from myheart. Please new line! Make more!

Good to see in 3D

I've watched this final episode of FD5 on Cape Town / Water FrontCinema in 3D and that was an amazing experience. The movie was not asexpected but at least it was far from Epi3 & 4.I liked the idea being in circle with the Epi.1, but the only problemis that it seems a classical SAW-Fasion, meaning everything wasexpected and very predictable. It is by the end a nice movie to see if you need to have-a-go, and Ihope they'll come with a newer version when they might do somerevolution like that of Lord of the Kings, The God father or evenbetter.

Need Hot Chicks

I grew up on the Final Destination series, I was 15 when the first onecame out and I haven't missed any of them. My biggest problem with thelast one is that I didn't find the chicks that hot. It's afranchise—can't they find 3-4 girls that are hot? That's my biggestcomplaint about the movie, need hotter chicks. Otherwise, they did thesame thing over again, like they do every one of them, the wholeanticipation and it's never the way you think they're going to die. I'mnot complaining about that, I really like that stuff. Six of us wentand we had a great time. It's almost comical all the anticipation ofwaiting for something bad to happen, especially the gymnast girl withthe screw on the plank she was walking on, we were laughing so much. Not laughing as in it was bad, but laughing along with it, almost likea half-fun, half-nervous edge of your seat laugh. We all really enjoyedit, although the story did kind of fall apart at the end a little. Wascool that they took it back to May 2000 when it all started, but theend—from the part when the Tom Cruise looking guy shows up with the gunat the restaurant to the end—seemed like it was a little off. I thinkthey've done enough of them now, it's time to stop, but I'm glad theydid # 5.

Brilliant! A must see!

Absolutely loved every single minute of it. So many unexpected and gorymoments involved, like the (spoiler) boat impalement (/spoiler) and(spoiler)Peter(/spoiler) and (spoiler)Sam's(/spoiler) death in thepremonition was pretty gory too. The (spoiler) acupuncture (/spoiler)death scene was really gory too, and the (spoiler)gym(/spoiler)scenewas pretty squeamish. The best was the (spoiler)laser eyesurgery(/spoiler) death! Well, kinda because it was realistic in thefact that could actually happen but the fact that she (spoiler)movedtowards the window rather than towards the door for safety(/spoiler)annoyed me a bit. The two twists were really good and I loved how darkthe movie got when (spoiler)Peter snapped and tried to kill Molly, thinking she wasn't worthy enough of her life(/spoiler). I was shockedwhen (spoiler)Peter shot the inspector dude, having his life and stilltrying to kill Molly(/spoiler), added a darker tone to it. Fantasticcharacter development! Amazing ending! The fact that (spoiler)it was aprequel and happened before FD1(/spoiler) really blew my mind! It wasthe best in the series in my opinion. This is what 3D was made for!Just a tiny heads up, (not really a spoiler but) :: (spoiler)make sureyou remember the first film. All I'm saying. (/spoiler) Great movie, 5stars :)

Final Destination 5 is the fitting end to the franchise!

When you're going to the theater to watch part 5 of a series, there aresome certain things you shouldn't have to worry about. It's part 5, forgoodness sake! If you've seen the rest of the series, then go ahead andpartake in this one because it's more of the same. Grisly, outrageousdeaths and Rube Goldberg-like series of events happening leading up tosaid grisly deaths. They say that there is nothing new to the series, but I have to adamantly disagree with that statement because thissummer, death has come full circle, my dear readers.Sam (D'Agosto) is going on a business retreat with his salespeoplecolleagues. There's Molly (Bell), the girlfriend that literally justbroke up with him, Peter (Fisher), his best friend, Candice (Wroe),Peter's girlfriend and the office intern/gymnast, Olivia (Wood), theoffice slut who has poor vision, Isaac (Bryne), the horny tech supportguy, Nathan (Escarpeta), the college grad who jumped leaps and boundsahead of everyone else down in the factory division and Dennis(Koechner), the office manager/douche. As is to be expected in thisfranchise, Sam gets a vision of the suspension bridge collapsing andtons of people die in glorious fashion. He panics, leaves the bus andpeople follow. Those eight people to be exact. Once they are off thebridge, they are interrogated by a dumber-than-dirt detective (Vance)and the coroner (Todd) is all cryptic at the funeral. Turns out thatdeath doesn't like to be cheated -- as if we didn't know... now can weget to some ultra-gory, double-bloody, extra head-squishing, hold thenudity deaths, please? Ask and ye shall receive, my friends. That's why I watch the Final Destination movies: the openingaccident/deaths and then the puzzle-like combinations that lead to oneof the characters that cheated death's demise. It can be lacking in thestory and character development to me because lets face it, I'm notgetting attached to any of these characters any time soon becauseunlike them... I know their fate. Or so I thought. See, FinalDestination 5 does have a twist to it. It turns out that if one of thesurvivors kills anybody off while death is looking for them, then theyget to take that person's life. Nice... it puts a new spin on it sothat a once good character might just lose his/her mind in deciding ifthat's what they want to do -- how badly would you want to live?I have to admit something. I watched this movie in 3D. After whatseemed to be the World's longest opening credit sequence known to man(where every single name is broken on a sheet of glass with someobject: a chair, a ladder, a hammer, a crane, etc etc -- and then theglass comes flying at you over and over and over.... and you get thepoint), I was ready to throw down my 3D glasses and walk out. I feltlike this was some sort of scientific 3D experiment where the onlyeffect was just to cheese me off. Long story short, Final Destination 5 delivers exactly what it promisesand much more! Special bonus to all the fans out there that have seenall of the Final Destination movies -- you're in for a treat. You don'tneed to watch the previous four to enjoy this one, but the twist at theend does reward the viewer who has. Midway through the movie, I thoughtto myself how cool it would be if they wound up doing something -- andthe screenplay writer did not disappoint because they wound up doingwhat I thought would be a perfect and fitting end to the franchise --even though I knew it was coming, I enjoyed it immensely.... now ifonly they didn't have those nagging loopholes because of it.
