In this sequel to Father of the Bride, George Banks must accept the reality of what his daughters ascension from daughter to wife, and now, to mother means when placed into perspective against his own stage of life. As the comfortable family unit starts to unravel in his mind, a rapid progression into mid-life crisis is in his future. His journey to regain his youth acts as a catalyst for a kind of rebirth of his attitude on life when he and his wife, Nina, find how their lives are about to change as well.

We have taken some photos of "Father of the Bride: Part II". They represent actual movie quality.
I love the Father of the Bride 2, it brought back the characters from the First movie. I think it is something that Ive watched numerous times and still am not tired of it. Diane Keaton & Steve Martin are so great together. If you have not seen this movie then you should.
This is one of the best sequels I have ever seen. It is funny and at the same time very sweet and touching. Steve Martin is great as the unwilling soon-to-be-father/grandfather. The rest of the cast is as good as they were in the first part. Definitely worth a watch by all daughters who have a very loving and protective father!
***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS****CONTAINS SPOILERS*This is my favorite movie. I think it is funny, sweet, and truly touchesthe heart. In the sequel to the previous, Father of the Bride, GeorgeBanks(Steve Martin) is finally getting over the fact that his beloved daughter,Annie (Kimberly Williams)has gotten married. But then she shocks him withthe news that she is pregnant. Everyone else is thrilled, but George isnot. He believes that he is too young to be a grandfather. He tries tobecome young, but doesn't succeed. Then, both he and his wife, Nina(DianeKeaton) are shocked to find out that Nina is also pregnant. George nowthinks he is too old to be a father. They have one other child other thenAnnie, Matty (Kieren Culkin.) Through the chaotic turns of pregnancy,George learns to except the fact that his daughter has grown up and movedon, even though it is hard. They also have to deal with Fronk (MartinShort,) the goofy wedding coordinator from the first movie, who is nowdesigning the new baby's room. They then discover that Annie has beengiventhe opportunity to design a museaum in Boston, far away from their own,SanMarino, California. George now realizes that he will miss his daughtermorethen ever, but he learns to get along. In the end, he enjoys being agrandfather to baby George, and a father again, to Megan, named after thedoctor who delievered her. In this funny and heartwarming sequel, everyoneputs out fantastic performences once again. Even though I very much enjoyFather of the Bride, I enjoy this much more.

Martin short is so good in this movie! He is incredibly funny and so is Steve Martin! They are very good together! This is one of my favorite movies and if you like sweet comedies you should get this and you will not regret it!!
This review is from: Father of the Bride Part II [VHS] (VHS Tape) The movie was in very good condition and the price was very reasonable.I would order from amazon.com without hesitation again. Thanks Bobby.
"Good bye Father of the Bride Part Two forever"? (I'm speaking to the oblivious clueless reviwer back on the reviews) Please. How juvenile can you get? Even if you bid it farewell, it won't go away. but I respect your opinion, even if it may not sound like it. On with the movie review. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Most sequels are boring and terrible, but this one really followed up with the first one. The fact that all of the characters were back from the first movie really helped. And how many movies have this kind of plot? Have you ever heard of another movie with a mother and daughter getting pregnant at the same time? And Martin's character, George Banks, was a really sweet man to be able to help out both his wife and daughter at the same time, without blowing his top, and he was a high-strung man to begin with. Short's character, Franck, is back with the same kooky qualities, and his driving to the hospital and all added much humor. I was happy to see some vulnerability in this movie, such as Keaton and Williams crying over the littlest thing-like all mothers do. The baby room, the deliveries, everything was so sweet. There isn't anything nasty or vengeful about it- it's just a soft, warm movie about a normal family with two babies on the way, with bright hopes for the future. Everything just seemed to pull together. The plot may be a bit predictable, but it's still great just to kick back and enjoy this two-hour movie accompanied with an emotional uplift. I sincerely hope they make a third part! It would make the movies even more enjoyable! I highly recommend this movie!!
Father of the Bride Part II is, without a doubt, my favourite "feel good" movie! We don't have tv stations at the cottage, just a vcr and dvd player, so when I want the kids to go outside to get some fresh air, I put this movie on. They've seen it so many times that my 10-year-old recites the words before the characters do! Steve Martin is at his funniest (he's settled into his character as loveable, thoughtful, very human George Banks) and Diane Keaton reminds me of a modern day June Cleaver. Of course, Martin Short is a sparkling, talented and very funny Franc. If someone in our family is a party-pooper, the rest of us burst out in song, "Every potty has a poopa that's why we invited you, George Bonks, George Bonks!" It's hysterical! I highly recommend this movie to anyone with a good sense of humour, doesn't mind a hint of slapstick, and longs for the "more proper" days of "Leave it to Beaver," when swearing, etc., etc. were taboo. Great movie with great heart!
BETTER THAN THE ORGINAL FUNNER CUTER.AND IT WORKS BETTER. I DID'T LIKE THE FRIST ONE AT ALL. I DID'T THINK IT WORK AT ALL. IT WAS TWO SLOW AND BROING HERE THE ACTORS ARE GOOD IN THIS KIND OF ROLE. SHELY STEVIN MATIN AS THE FATHER AND DINE KINE AS THE MOTHER IT WORKS.I ENJOYED THE KIDS AND THE BABY SCRENE AT THE END THAT WORK TWO AND THE STORY WORKS GOOD HERE THE ORGINAL DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THAT. 3 STARS OUT OF 4 STARS THUMBS UP
this movie rocks. but there is one thing weird. okay, so in thebeginning Annie says, "i have lived here since i was 5!" and then laterright when they are selling the house and playing basketball Annie andGeorge(her dad) and her dad says "i remember the first time we playedout here, you were 4." wait...so was she 4 or 5 when they movedin??????????? other than that this movie makes me laugh, cry(because ilaugh so much), and..........uh.....what was that other thing peoplesay when they say that? i don't really remember. i just love how Stevemartin always is so cheap. I am forced to say more so i will say i lovethat this movie is always on HBO! And i realized something, Stevemartin has had white hair like forever!
I enjoyed this film. I found that it was easy to relate to Steve Martin'scharacter George Banks as a parent. The relationship between him and hisdaughter Annie, played by Kimberly Williams, was an honest father daughterrelationship. I recommend this one for parents in general and emptynestersin particular. The idea of a mother and daughter being pregnant at thesametime is plausible and amusing.
This movie is a very warm and funny family film. I enjoyed every minuteof it because it was very real. Some may disagree but there are a lotof people who may of had this type of situation. I loved that MartinShort was in the Sequel because I love his comedy and he made the movievery funny. The only thing I didn't like was Eugene Levy's character, Ifound that his part was just put there to extend the movie a bit. Ialso didn't like how they used him in the second one when he wasclearly the one who auditioned to be the wedding singer in the firstone. All in all this is a great family film where many will enjoy andwatch together.
FATHER OF THE BRIDE PART II, in my opinion, is one of the mosthilarious, heart-warming, and enchanting comedies I have ever seen. Ifyou ask me, Alan Silvestri's score was absolutely romantic. Inaddition, I thought that the performances were superior, the directingwas excellent, the costumes were perfectly designed, and the castingwas perfect. Also, I was surprised that Martin Short sported his accentagain. Kudos to Charles Shyer and everyone involved for a job welldone. Now, in conclusion, if you are a fan Steve Martin, Diane Keaton,or Martin Short, or if you liked FATHER OF THE BRIDE, I highlyrecommend this movie. You're in for a feel good time, so see this movietoday. You're in for a good time, so go to the video store, rent it orbuy it, kick back with a friend, and watch it.
"Father of the Bride II" may seem to some people like a lesser SteveMartin movie, with him as the patriarch from the previous movie nowhaving to deal with his daughter's and wife's pregnancies.Unpretentiously silly. But one interesting thing is that apparently, some Arab groups claimed that the movie was making anti-Arabstereotypes, as a Middle Eastern man buys their house with plans todemolish it. I wouldn't have interpreted that as anti-Arab; I mean,it's not like they're portraying him as a terrorist.Oh well, life goes on. The movie's a nice, goofy way to pass time. Ireally liked the scene where they bring Steve Martin into the hospital(that would've sure been an embarrassment!). Also starring DianeKeaton, Martin Short, Kimberly Williams, B.D. Wong and Eugene Levy.
This movie is one of my family's favorites of all time! Steve Martin is hilarious as the over-protective, over-reacting father that we all love and Diane Keaton matches and compliments his character perfectly as Nina, the mother of the bride. Witty, sweet, and sentimental, this movie is great for the entire family! :)

I remember watching "Father of the Bride" over and over again growing up...dreaming of my own wedding! It was just one of those movies that you can never really get tired of. I was excited when they made "Father of the Bride 2" , but I really didn't have high hopes for it because I thought there was no way it could compete with the first...boy was I wrong. This movie is just as great as the first. With mother and daughter having a baby at the same time and all the same great characters back from the first movie...there was never a dull moment! If you liked the first you should love this movie!
We rented the videos so many times, that they just had to be the very first DVD's we purchased. Our whole family loves them, but especially our 11 year old daughter. No matter how many times we see them, we laugh and cry uncontrollably. These movies are put together magnificently - the sets, the clothes, the music, the fun and the laughs. We would love to see a "Father of the Groom" follow-up with Matty at the alter and the two babies the ring bearer& flower girl and, of course, everyone to return to their parts for a third time around. Maybe they could have the wedding on a cruise ship this time...just a thought.
this video is better than the other one with all the comedy and love this family should get this video cause it's the greatest the most truthful the most fasanating video ever it's so suprising at the end because george was acting emotional over the birth of his new daughter it's very awesome and sweet because he did everything to please the women of his life anywho this movie is very fasanating so all of you family's should get it because it's very great and truthful but odd but it will always be my favorite because it's all about loving the pepole of your life and also ........................ your family
While no where near the quality of Father's Little Dividend, theSpencer Tracy vehicle that was the sequel to the original Father of theBride, Father of the Bride II is not the worst way to while away a lazyweekend afternoon. The plot follows a fairly predictable series ofevents with little by way of character development. The actors aretalented and that makes all the difference. I can't help but findmyself tearing up every darn time I watch this schlock-fest.I am rather amazed however that no reviewer has commented on theunnecessarily negative portrayal of "Mr. Habib" (a cameo by EugeneLevy) as the arrogant, misogynistic Arab who buys the Banks' belovedhome. With both Keaton and Martin well known for their liberalpolitics, I'm surprised neither objected to this tired depiction of aSouthern California real estate trope.
