Very happy they brought back the originals

We loved the Fast and the Furious franchise for three cars, hot girls,and the duo of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. I was so happy that theybrought back another Fast and the Furious movie with the originalcharacters because the Tokyo Drift film prior to this couldn't havebeen more irrelevant to the franchise. The movie starts off by starting the film with what the series is bestknown for, hot cars and Vin Diesel stunt-driving in a hot car alongwith Michelle Rodriguez who I have always loved. The adrenaline rushyou get just from the opening scene makes you smile ans say YES theFast and the Furious is back. After the fuel truck is done flipping andexploding, a second scene takes place of a detective tracking down avigilante on a wild foot chase. You know who this is, Brian O'Conner.Just from the first two scenes of exploding fuel trucks and a guydriving another guy through a two story window leaves you saying wow,well it did for me anyway.After all the action has cleared, the main story of the film starts totake place in which Dom leaves to escape from getting caught by thecops once again. Months after his departure, he gets a phone call fromhis sister Mia saying Letty was murdered. Now the emotional tone of thefilm sets when one of the loving characters from the franchise is gone.The entire film focuses on Dom getting revenge against the gang thatmurdered Letty as does it also focus on Paul Walker's charactertracking down the same group of people. Fast and the Furious 4, ifthats what you wanna call it, sticks to what it was known for and thatswhat fans of the movie want to see. There are great heart pumpingscenes of fast car chases that never lets up. The ending with Dom goingto jail, and then having Brian and Mia trying to get him out couldn'thave been a more perfect ending. For those who are wanting what theygave you in the first Fast and the Furious movie, this one is justthat.

Fast and Furious

Hi all: Fast and Furious was very well written, it had great acting andstunts, and just very well done as a whole. It places itself as thethird movie in the story and moves Tokyo Drift to the fourth movie inthe story. If you remember the last of Tokyo Drift, and what was said -you'll understand.The only thing I found wrong with the movie was one big blooper at thevery end of the show - when you watch Fast and Furious, you'll clearlysee what I mean.This movie offers a lot of America muscle with import, and I wouldn'tbe surprised if a video game comes out. Vin is back 100%, just as youremember him from the beginning of his career. Like in the other shows,many beautiful cars get destroyed.

a bluray collector.

This review is from: Fast & Furious (Two-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) my two stars in not toward the movie at all. i love this movie. but my two stars is toward the fact that im a bluray collector and wished my copy of the movie came with the protective collector jacket. and i wish amazon would let you know before hand if it had it or not.

Way Better Than Expected

A friend of mine convinced me to go to this movie on opening night. Igave in, figuring that it couldn't be too bad of a movie. Pretty much,right off the bat I was glued to it.Soo much happens in the beginning. Like the opening scene for example,when they're stealing the gas. Then to kick it off and give the movie aplot, Vin Diesels girlfriend gets killed off. They really thought thisone through, this time.The action is great. Amazing cars and high flying. The ending isexcellent. I like how they pull off the first scene idea, in the endingscene.VERY well done. I thought it'd be good. It was great! 8/10

This film, unlike the second and third installment, had a strong plot.if you like the F&F Franchise and go into the theater with a positiveattitude, you will not be disappointed. unlike any other installment inthe franchise, there is a much bigger variety of cars as well. muchmore of that good ol' American Muscle. and who can you think of thatlooks more bada$$ than Vin Diesel behind the wheel of a Chevelle and aCharger? and not to mention the babes! I mean thats what this series isall about right?Cars, babes, and mischief.overall, if you dig the franchise as much as i do, or even if u justlike cars and racing, this is the movie for you. it is much more actionpacked than all of the other ones.

Definitaly better than Tokyo Drift

I saw this movie about an hour ago.. overall i was pretty pleased withit the action is great. but the writing was a bit off some of thedialogue seemed corny and unnecessary.. i found my self almost laughingat lines that were supposed to be dramatic.. kinda like in twilight. idsay it wasn't as good as the first but definitely the second best ofthe series.. the reason the first was better is because JA RULE was init ha.. its not how you stand by your car, its how you race your carhaha..only other complaint i guess is that its not really about racinganymore.. for example the first one was more about the culture ofunderground street racing.oh and Mia in this movie is a bit scary i guess she forgot how she didthe original role because she almost looks like she has a joker smileha

Something changed.... For the better

'THE' fast and 'THE' furious was a fine movie. Very unbelievable, had aknack for being cheesy at times (mainly thanks to the acting of VinDiesel) but it was one particular action that stood out to me. I lovedthe blur speed special effects and the fact that the drivers in suchadrenaline pumped speed races barely had their eye on the road (moretowards the hot passenger or opposing car) and also enjoyed the lack ofboredom that the genre of action constantly dominated. All in all, anall time great.Now for Fast and Furious. After a long stretch of constantly averageepisodes such as 2fast 2furious and Tokyo Drift, the makers managed toredeem themselves. They brought back the action of the first movie thatwe came to adore but on top of that, they managed to do what BatmanBegins did for the other Batmans. They added a factor of realism whichI personally had never seen before. Sure, the action from the get gowas, fact beyond reasonable doubt, staring us in the face, but therewas a certain drama that I had never noticed in any other Fast andFurious. Vin Diesel's rough, tough character was slightly cracked intosomething deeper. Paul Walker also, acted slightly above solidly andwho could discount the females in a movie like this!I'll let you viewers be the judge. I reckon you gotta really appreciatethe Fast and The Furious (the first 1) to completely enjoy a flick likethis one. Adding the drama quality to the bar chart of predominantaction/thriller, you have to hand it to the makers and applaud them foradding more of a deepness than any other Fast and Furious. I thinkafter seeing and enjoying Batman Begins, It's what we're looking fornowadays.Overall score, A very strong:8/10

Big disapointment

A big disapointment. With the return of the original cast I expected it to be on the same level as the first installment -- which it isn't. The screenplay has several holes, the excess of CGI images made the movie to look like a video game and very unrealistic (especially the tunnel scenes), and the plot is simply ridiculous. It is worse than 2 Fast 2 Furious, which is not that great. Only the first scene is interesting, all the rest is a waste of time.

This movies has done better than the previous i actually enjoy every part of it.......Finally a movie to keep out mind of the economic for a second ....but overall GREAT FF movie!!!

The movie that started it all relating to street car racing is back. With vin, paul, and the rest of the cast from the first instalment, this movie take place sometime befor tokyo drift. The film mostly takes place back in Los Ang, with the death of Dom's girlfriend and a big drug lord out Dom and Brian find their way to have to work togather..... Great visuals and performence from the cast this movie will be hard to miss [even if u dont have a desire for racing]...... A good start for an early summer......... Movie Mobster

a standard fast and furious movie with less cars

I have watched all the fast and furious movies. This movie is, I think,no better or worse than the other movies of the series. The good thingabout the movie is, Vin Diesel acts in it. The bad (or worse) thing isthat the movie is such a big cliché. When some character sayssomething, you can just guess what the other character will give as areply. When we see letty in the first place, we just guess that shewill die and dom will run after some revenge. The movie is veryexpectable from the beginning to the end. Another bad thing is thatthere are less cars and less workshop scenes than the other fast andfurious films. Also, the supporting characters aren't as eccentric asthey were on the other movies. The tunnel scenes were really good,which seem to have given some difficulty to the effects people and tothe stuntmen. Overall, this movie is just your standard fast andfurious movie, no more no less. Just the movie to ask for if you likeVin Diesel, girls kissin', modified cars and some action scenes.

A Fast and Furious Comment

Readers beware this is not a movie you'd expect from it's origin. Thewhole racing world got turned upside down and into a cat and mousechasing film. I seriously do not feel that it has a good story andthere were moments where things didn't add up or make any sense. If youwant to watch a good movie about racing then I'd suggest you look intoJapanese Anime, about a movie by the name of Initial D. Now that's atrue tuner movie, great story line and great music. This Fast andFurious movie is going to be forgotten real fast by all it's viewers.Hell, even Midnight Club had a better story line. Guess it's really nota racing film, it's more like nice action, nice girls, nice cars, butpoor story because where's the racing? 1 race just doesn't cut it man.

Very Fast Very Furious

It should have been called "The Fast and The Furious - The DarkTunnels" or "The Fast and The Furious - The Traffic Re-Routers"Drifting was a big event in FF3 which is a pie cake for everyone inthis installation. If you compare all releases on Fast and Furious, the1st Installation still rocks! Then after that comes FF4, then TokyoDrift and the least exciting was the second part.Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) crazily kept on changing his mind whichroute to take while driving. He did this all the time in the movie. Ifhe reached a dead-end, he quickly routed his car to a new path. Amazing! The only thing which I think had potential was when they come torescue Vin Diesel in the end. The writers could have kept it for thenext installation along with a fast-on-feet, jailbreak chase sequence.Very few street races, Amazing Direction, very few scenes for Michelle(Laticia/Letty). I feel a bit cheated because I expected to watchJordana Brewster (Mia) who had not many scenes in the movie.Definitely a good watch !

This franchise definitely needed Vin

Ever played a video game on acid? Neither have I, but it sure as hellwould have to be pretty similar to watching this movie. Sometimes ablast, sometimes weird as heck, but always with lots of groovy colors.I like the first FnF. It introduced fun characters and the cars werecool and all. The sequels had to be pretty lame, because this franchiseis nothing without Vin. Walker could be cut in a heart beat, but notour good, role-playing friend Diesel (I believe he played a wizard).Even when the going is redonkulously over the top, he remains cool ashell. I like his overly calm hero type. Let's hope he doesn't doanother children's movie after this.There are a couple sweet nods to the first movie, which is alwaysappreciated by us continuation prostitutes. Sequel must be a sequel,damn it! End chase almost ruins the movie, because it is such brainvomit it might actually make you go blind. But, there was enough of thefun times to give me strength to suffer through that debacle. Overall,a decent flick, but could have been tons better with a qualitydirector.And yeah, it was about time to have a Mustang in there!

Awesome movie! =) Almost good as the first one.

This is a great movie, any fan of the first one gotta love this one.The main characters are back, the story is pretty good, and action is even better.First movie was good, second one sucked, third was alright it had few good scenes but with this one they went back to the roots. I hope next one they have more imports, because American cars suck, they always break down and need to be fixed.

This Movie Was Worth Every Penny!

The Fast and the Furious equals the energetic and the high powered. Great movie for guys who like movies, as TBS used to advertise. This is arguably the best movie I've seen all year long. The cast was very ethnically diverse, which made it even better. The cars were stupendously dynamic. The driving maneuvers were the stuff of legends. The plot was good too, as it took a different perspective on the Mexican drug cartel U.S. border war fiasco! Vin Diesel is an excellent tough guy. A man of few words, and absolutely fearless; best movie I've seen him in thus far. I give it two thumbs up!

Not a bad entry, way better than 2 Fast 2 Furious

Okay, I love this series. It has good looking, along with fast cars,decent performances, and interesting back stories. Fast and Furious issort of a mix between the last three entries, and that is where thisone will either make or lose an audience.The past three were about showing off both tuner and muscle cars whileputting them in some very cool situations. The first two were aboutplain drag and street racing, while Tokyo Drift was about drifting witha couple of street races thrown in for good measure. This one againmixes all three together. In one showcase scene, four racers arescrambling to make it to be the first across the finish line about fivemiles down the road. They are racing past, into, and around oncomingtraffic using street racing and drifting tactics. However, my onlygripe about the cars is that they don't seem to be top focus here.Don't get me wrong, Dom's Charger and Bryan trademark car from 2F2F,the Skyline, is back, along with some other cool automotive toys, butaren't used to the effect of the first three.Where this movie shines is in it's presentation. This Fast and Furiousis focused on and has, wait for it, a good story fueling (excuse thebad pun) this entry. While nowhere near Oscar or the Academy Awardsmaterial, this is fan service to every extent of the meaning. JordanaBrewster, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel, and even SungKang (as Han), return for this movie, along with giving decentperformances While definitely continuing the story of the first, Ididn't hear any references to the events of 2F2F. I'm wondering if theyknow themselves that that one was a mistake? BTW, this story takesplace between 2F2F and Tokyo Drift, if Han returning wasn't anyindication.Overall, fans of the series should like this one, and ranks right upthere with the first and Tokyo Drift. If you are not a fan, don't go inthinking this movie is going to be revolutionary or extraordinary, likecritics. Instead, just think about having fun watching an action packedthrill-ride that is about two hours long.
