this movie is oscar worthy beacause it is a funny animated movie !!!Most animated movies are not like that!THIs is a great movie!waste your money on buying it!!!!!!!!!!
Small-town goofballs, bizarre musical numbers and plenty of toilet humor -- ah, the holidays are here again.
I LOVED this movie. It had a mix of funny stuff, sad stuff, and gross stuff. Unfortanly, the sad part is about the kids mom and dad dying. I am a HUGE fan of adam sandler and I think this is one of his greatest work of art. Plus the DVD has great extras. For example: It has a ad. for the NBA that is very funny. If you have a kid over the age of 8, GET THIS DVD! (I would know because I am 10.)
This Movie was simply hilarious i was laughing the entire time at all of these random but fantastic jokes. The movie has a lot of random people and parts that don't make sense but their is a solid plot and the songs are cute and hilarious. A good movie to watch with a bunch of friends but not for little children. Best ages probably 11-16 and anyone older than that usually finds the humor crude . Overall a fantastic spirit lifting movie that actually had me crying.
It was so funny. I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't like the story very much, but I liked all the humor. It was hilarious.
Now a lot of people don't like this film,I don't know why. This film isfunny as heck. When this film came out,I amit I did had a problem seeing Adam in acartoon. The commericals made it seem G rated. So I brothered not to seeit. Then all of a sudden 12 months later. It finally hits video, and myteacher, who loves Adam Sandler, snuck it in to our class for christmasfilms.I was shock to see how good it was. This film is good for a cartoon. The comedy was gross, which shock thehell out of me,it should of been R rated with the crusing and crudehurmor. It's like watching Scary Movie without the strong language and sexualhurmor, just the crude hurmor. And trust me it's crude alright.A true fan ofAdam will love this. And I'm an true fan.I even loved Punch Drunk Love, whichis Adam's best role ever to me.
This is one of the best idea's in movie history and what's good about it is they got Adam Sandler. If your looking for an animated movie to laugh at and not fell like a little kid get this movie is for you. What's good about this is it's funny and the animation is real good to. The one part you can enjoy most about this movie is it is PG-13 which is rare these days, people want to trip about it mostly parents and when that comes up you wonder if they ever heard of something like rating meaning they tell you who it's for and everything cause it says it on the box it's not for children. This is defiantly a movie to pass the time and escape with they guys who wrote this were daring which is a real good thing. I really enjoy PG-13 cartoon movies cause it can be fun and have a reason for it's humor and it dosen't have to hold back. This is a real good movie so go and get it.
This was one awful movie. I really enjoy Adam Sandler's work butunfortunately the recipe of an animated film in which Sandler portraysSandler, Sandler portrays an old man, Sandler portrays a bunch of otherpeople and Sandler is serenading us with wayyyyyyyyyyy too much of hissillytunes is a complete disaster. If my two kids were not with me I wouldhavewalked out halfway through. Instead I stayed until the dreadful end anditwas a mild form of torture to watch the 2nd half of this movie. Oh surethere are a couple amusing scenes, but this movie could have been editeddown to 15 minutes and would have qualified as a mildly funny short film. Not since "Red Dawn" have I attended such a worthless movie. Do not evenbother to rent this one when it comes out at the Video Store. Sometimespeople who become full of themselves create work that they like but don'ttake time to realize that it just isn't worthwhile. That is Sandler'sproblem here. Adam, go back to acting a part in a movie. You are good atthis. But when you make a movie in which you are the star, several of theco-stars and the creator of the music it is simply overkill of simplistichumor. I wish I had asked for my money back.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! One reviewer states, "the funniest Christmas movie ever". This could not be farther from the truth. I like many of A. Sandler's movies. However, this movie sucked really bad. It was crude and not funny (reindeer pooping and eating poop?...come on!). It was irritating and not funny (the old man's voice was so grating, it made you want to scream five minutes into the movie). Most of all, the movie was boring and embarrassing to watch in mixed company. I still can't believe I wasted $4.00 to rent it.
Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights was an interesting movie. A musicalcartoon comedy, in the vein of the South Park movie. The musicalnumbers, were awesome, hysterical. I loved them. Went out and bought thesoundtrackimmediately after seeing it. The jokes during the movie, many werebodilyhumor jokes. Not my favorite, but gave me a slight chuckle. Many of thejokes were over the top and gross, like the one port-a-poty scene andsomeof the deer scenes. I really enjoyed the movie, for the musical numbers. The story is not the best, then again how many of the cliche Adam Sandlermovies have GREAT storylines. I'd say, see the movie when it comes tovideo, but check out the soundtrack. Songs like "Technical Foul" and"BumBuddy" are just too great to miss.
Adam sandler is one hell of a legend when it comes to comedy. He doesmusic and movies, and i think he might have done stand-up. But thismovie, wasn't exactly what i expected. i thought it was just a purecomedy. instead it turned out to be an Adam sandler musical. which waseven better.Adam sandler plays as Davey stone, a 33 year old juvenile delinquentwho has nothing better to do, other than ruin other peoples lives. for20 years he went to places that tried to reform him, but it neverworked. so one day, after being busted for being drunk, he has only onechance - to be reformed by whitey, a 71 year old referee for the youthbasketball league. it's a long ride of prank after prank, to going backto the reason why he started acting like a delinquent in the firstplace.Note to parents: this movie should not be rated PG (Canadian rating, but i'm sure it was PG-13 in the states) because there was a lot of badbathroom humor. And some light sexual humor. plus a lot of badlanguage. but what else can you expect from Adam sandler? one lastthing. for all of you who don't listen to your parent's instruction, watch the movie.10/10
The most stirring holiday film since Prancer, and the best animated musical since South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.
This movie was awesome. I didn't want to see it at all, but my aunt rented it and I never stopped laughing. After it was over, I was still laughing my ass off. The singing by the characters is a little annoying, but the story is so funny I loved it. If you love Adam, you will still love this movie. It's great.
An unholy union between saccharine holiday sentiment, gross-out comedy, and fourth-rate animation.
Just cuz it's a cartoon, and about the holiday's, does not make it a family movie. The movie was everything I expected, no real surprises. That said I do not feel the adult content shuold be used to grade the movie. My kids will not be seeing this for some time. My copy has PG-13 PARENTS STRONGLY CAUTIONED clearly stated on the back.
For all you critics out there, you wouldn't know a good movie if it slapped you in the face! For the Adam Sandler fans out there, it's a must buy. I recommend it to teenagers and parents alike. A great holiday movie with tons of crude humor.
Sandler is at his best as a rage-filled jerk, and at his worst as two of the most irritating characters in all of cartoondom.
The songs are rather forgettable and sometimes downright painful.
This movie was terrible! "WARNING SPOLIERS MAY BE POSSIBLE!"Well it starts out with Davey, a drunk who is crude and mean. Then when he gets into trouble he's doomed to community service with the town migiet Whitney, (No offence to little people out there, that it not my intention to offend anyone). Whitney sounds like Woody Allen on crack, and his fernal twin sister Elenaor isn't any better. Well Davey does all he can to offend Whitney. That is until his place burns up! So he moves in with Whitney and his sister, and they set some ground rules. Then as the movie goes on, they make a big deal about Davey having little emotion, and when he cries it's all the sudden a big deal! And for some reason the deer in the woods talk, and help Whitney out. What or who is Whitney supposted to be Santa Claus? I hate the music in it, the voices are annoying, and the characters are mostly unlikable! So warning to parents, keep your children locked up from this totally bad movie!
First of all, all of the critics that trashed this movie can go eat s**t. This is a good movie that takes a different direction than all of the other animated crap, other animated movies are very predictable on hows going to end. Which is usually the same crap over and over again, the main character lives happily ever after. Eight Crazy Nights has its main character Davey go through many difficult times and the reason for that is understandable. Pay close attention to the movie and behind the jokes and songs you'll likely to find a message. The reason why many critics trashed this movie was because of its jokes (which can be kind of sick sometimes and if u haven't noticed most of the critics are older people who like to watch movies like "The Princess Diaries" or "Finding Nemo". So all of u that haven't seen this movie and like comedy, don't listen to the people who trashed this movie. Go and watch it, its a great movie with nice visuals, catchy songs and a good story line that progresses quickly. This movie did not deserved to be trashed, Adam Sandler is a genius.
