A Realist Perspective

A brief, honest synopsis for those who do not like long reviews:Guy who missed the MMA window but can throw a roundhouse writes,produces, and stars in film which provides the capacity to effortlesslydefeat MMA stars and interact with quasi-attractive girls all whileplaying tough to an over-acting septuagenarian.What makes the movie difficult to finish:1. Acting - Keith Jardine wins the "best actor" award and he only hassix mumbled lines.2. Misplaced/Mistimed/Unnecessary T&A - Main character's wife ishalf-dead, vomiting violently due to a viral injection. Good time for asecond fully-nude sex scene? Why not. And don't bother with thedudes-with-boobs extras. I swear the one chick has an Adam's apple.3. GSP is locked in a cell...not sure why.Echavarria pumped out another MMA movie in 2009 and proved he actuallyis a contender...with the straight-to-video action crowd. Watch outSteven Seagal!

really really bad bad movie....even for a UFC fan

This review is from: Death Warrior [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) How can a movie with all these great UFC fighters stink so bad I'd rate it one star? The plot is stupid....a bad take on a much better movie with Stone Cold Steve Austin "The Condemned" and the UFC guys are barely on screen..I mean blink and they are gone...what we have left is unknown hack actors with cheesy dialog and UGLY naked women...blech...and I bought the blu ray so I had to watch this mess in Hi-def....let me spare you the same waste of an hour and a half.

very poor acting

Hi all, well I usually don't comment on movies but this one is awfuland I have to write something for sake of people those who are planningto see this movie.You just can't watch the full movie because of so poor acting (evenporn movie have better actors) and poor direction, dialog, just everything was so hateful. The story starts with a freestyle wrestlerthinking of retirement after one or two fights to bag good money. Andthats where the bad man comes with his idea similar tournament movie(no detonators this time). And abducts some great fighter my foot. Theyhave to fight or die and surely their families are also the victim ofthis whole thing.Well I don't know about you all but I must say IMDb should provide somerating choices in minus too like -10 or something for this kind ofmovies so that whole world can know about this piece of sh*t creatingsome unpleasant smell.Sorry for being so rough but this one deserves it.

Good fighters = bad actors. The case is made.

Look, before we go too far here, let me be clear that this movie is pretty bad and most thoughtful people and fight fans won't enjoy it that much. Then why did I give it three stars? Because it's so bad that it's pretty fun in some ways. Take the acting: it's fun to watch Rampage, Rush, Sugar, and The Dean of Mean try to act (actually, The Dean of Mean didn't do that bad a job truth be told, especially for this type of movie). You get to see stellar fighters stretch well beyond their stellar capabilities. I don't know but to me this makes them kinda more relatable. Plus, actual actor Nick Mancuso (as one of the villains) overracts in a winking, nod-to-the-camera I-know-this-movie-is-poop type of way. It's also always interesting to see how a movie is going to try and come up with a new way of getting the best of the best into death matches with each other. In this one we have a syndicate of sorts who runs a televised betting service for the elite rich abducting the most famous fighters and forcing them to fight to the death or some loved one will perish. Not original but decently executed. There's some pretty graphic sexual content but I suspect that most people watching this will find that a plus. So, there you have it. A bad movie that still entertains. Make sure the young UFC fans avoid though.
