A gang of tough London gangsters get more than they bargained for when a group of businessmen make an offer to buy their club, the Inferno. They turn out to be nothing less than Vampires wanting their land back and turn viciously on the gangsters when their demands are not met.

This movie wasn't entirely terrible but it certainly won't be embracingmy DVD player for quite a while. It semi works as a gangster flick, inbrief a rival gang tries to take over an established patch. This hasworked in the past and could have possibly worked now. Considering thecast of British stars that appear in it, Craig Fairbrass, jason Flemyngand Dexter fletcher to name a few.But then... The vampire bit seems to pop up. It feels like theycouldn't really pick a decent way for the movie to go and decided itwould be a good idea to throw a couple of bloodsuckers in. Theculminating scene near the end of the movie becoming like a poor mansfrom dusk till dawn.It falls slightly short of a gangster flick and slightly short of ahorror flick it's one of those that I'm sure you will be on the fenceabout. The only real qualm i had with thee movie is billy murray'sromanian character... Without a hint of a romanian accent Try the filmby all means but don't get your hopes up to high.
I was a little surprised to see how low rating this movie had here atIMDb. I mean, it's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but it's notthe worst either. It has a bunch of cool actors (Craig Fairbrass isstone cold cool) and a fun storyline. The vampires are kind of lame, but not more so than in every other vampire movie ever made. The actionhas a different flavour than all the boring big time action/horrormovies, but to me that's just a plus. The directing feels a littledisjointed at times, but nothing too bad.All in all, I recommend this to anyone who likes British gangsterand/or horror flicks. Just don't go in expecting too much.
I have not yet seen this movie but for somebody to say British accentsare a problem is totally pathetic! If you are not British or do notunderstand Engish then yes you may have a problem! Us British make someof the best movies there are without necessarily needing a bigHollywood budget or name. We make them based on quality of acting andscript etc and do not necessarily need special effects and bigHollywood names! This person who said this in his review should have itremoved as he has no idea what he is talking about!Again I cannot comment at this stage on the movie but felt compelled toremark on a such a shallow idiot like this who needs an eduction itseems!
I wanted to disbelieve the bad reviews so went ahead and watched itanyway.... Absolutely was a waste of time. Fair to say I stayed awake, but that was only because I kept waiting for the vampire parts tobegin. And when they did, they didn't make much sense to me. Maybebecause of the accents, maybe the volume was too low, or maybe themovie just sucked but I had a hard time understanding what the heck wasgoing on. Right to the very end.On a positive note, the acting wasn't bad.... just what they were toldto do was. These were some of the strangest behaved vampires I'd everseen and I often shook my head in disbelief at the storyline. What Ifelt most during this movie, was annoyed.
I do wonder, what the makers of this movie were watching from Dusk tilDawn, to come up with the movie ... Seriously though: You can hate themovie completely (obviously there are quite some flaws, starting from"acting", continuing with a bad script and not necessarily ending witha weak direction) or you can try to enjoy it a bit (which a few peopleactually did).I know it didn't go down very well at the Frightfest, so maybe that issaying something. I guess I gave the movie the benefit of the doubt andstill wasn't too disappointed. Well not as disappointed as some othermovies I have seen. The action scenes are not the best, but not theworst either (from similar movies that is).
I don't know where to start or how to.....the only thing rolling overmy head right now is , please please don't make me think about thismovie again ....let me start with the sound quality ......frankly its kind of b grademovie (which only gets into the market on dvds)..or may be its Britishascent..truth ,( I'm living in London rite now ) but really Britishascent sounds really bad in movies..The vampires in this movie are ( what to say ) like unvampi ..( i madethat word myself after watching lol) The whole movie is around the strip club corner and Jesus !! thereisn't a single flashing of skin ...the girls are so dumb..and the wholeplot of the movie is dumb(or weired), and the story isn't thatcompelling only the good part is the night ,dark, bluish color of themovie which turns your head towards the TV.....but as a whole ...betternot waste your time in this one , i'd prefer if you don't know what todo with your time then get a good nap .....fellas ... SAVE YOUR TIME .
It's always dangerous to mix to genres together especially when it hasbeen done before. Face it, if you watch this British production thenyou surely will be reminded of From Dusk Till Dawn. Here we havegangsters in the first 45 minutes fighting against some Romanian thug. But once the Romanians have taken over the property of the Brits theBrits decide to take it all back. Wrong, the Romanians aren't justcriminals, they are creatures of the night. So far so good. The positive thing is the fact that it's spoken in cockney accent and Ilike that accent very much. Naturally they use slang but for those notunderstanding it all they included subs. The actors are all well knownfaces in the UK scene and some you will recognise from for examplePerry Banson who played dad in Mum And Dad. Craig Fairbrass fromDevil's Playground and others due appeared in blockbusters like ClashOf The Titans. So the acting was believable. My only problem was the fact that it took a bit of time before thevampires arrived. Once they were there the red stuff do flows but itnever becomes gory and sadly some of the red stuff is CGI. It's a weirdflick, the chicks look awesome at the club and the acting was okay butit did lack a bit of real horror. Nevertheless, it was great to see allthose actors together but the story failed a bit...Fun to see Eleanor James again, sadly she didn't say anything and wasonly at the background. Common, you can do better...Gore 2/5 Nudity 0/5 Story 2/5 Effects 2/5 Comedy 0/5
There are times that when you read a premise on paper that seems fun,you actually aren't surprised when it doesn't turn out to beparticularly good. At least I'm not. I've already seen several moviesthat had fun premises-"Shadow: Dead Riot" for example-that didn't liveup to said potential. A recent case in point: "Dead Cert", which wantsto be a mix of a tough British gangster movie and "From Dusk 'TilDawn", and wastes said potential. In the East End of London, Freddie "Dead Cert" Frankham (CraigFairbrass, who seems to be forever cast as a big, tough guy from theEast End) ends up getting mixed up in the affairs of Romanian GangsterDante Livenko (Billy Murray) and his gang. Well, it turns out thatDante is a vampire known as the wolf, and to make matters worse, thelocal strip club Freddy and his pals frequent is now overrun with thebloodsuckers. To be fair, this movie does feature some decent to good performances, especially Murray, whose a lot of fun as the villain. The problemthough, is that it takes too long to get to the good stuff, so tospeak. It's not until the fifty something minute mark that the club isoverrun, and until then, the movie is mostly just a bunch of talk withthe occasional act of violence padding out time. Speaking of which, after the vampires come out to play, we get more talk. In fact, there'sso many scenes of people arguing and conversing that you kind of wonderwhy the filmmakers decided to include vampires at all.Which leads to the movies biggest problem: it doesn't go far enough.Sure, there's bloodshed and the make up FX look good, but they aren'tanything you haven't seen before. In fact, for a movie that hasstrippers turning into vampires, the movie feels sort of tame. It takesitself too seriously, doesn't offer the bountiful female nudity andgore one would hope for, and the final battle between humans andvampires feels pretty anemic.I went into "Dead Cert" with low expectations, and guess what? Missionaccomplished. There's nothing here that sets this apart from othercrappy vampire movies or British crime/gangster movies. Your better offjust watching "From Dusk 'Till Dawn" again instead of this genericsoup.
