the circle of crap

Circle is a really awful movie. It tries to be suspenseful... nope. The description even says horror and THAT'S just absolutely laughable, haha.It's about an attractive blonde FBI agent and a rude, loud mouth cop trying to piece together the complex clues involving the whereabouts of a serial killer on the loose. WAY too much time is devoted to the FBI agent and the cop exchanging words, and the one part I found unintentionally funny is when the FBI agent finally has enough of the cops criticisms and pretty much accurately names the reasons behind his attitude issues (a divorce leading to secret drinking habits). This is funny because it seems like *all* loud mouth, arrogant cops are portrayed with the same generic problems in these type of movies.Well the other aspect of this lousy forgettable movie is that a group of teenagers are spending time in a cabin in a woods and... surprise surprise, this is where the killer turns up. Wow, no kidding? *sarcasm of course*.This killer isn't even that scary, and barely anything worthy of actual horror takes place. It's mostly centerned around the FBI and cops figuring out the clues, so much of the attention is on them. The movie fails horribly trying to make the teens seem important but, I say go ahead and chop them up! The lack of atmosphere is the main killer here, and the acting is bottom of the barrel as well. Really terrible film in my opinion. A must avoid.

It's a solid and interesting horror entry with great performances, a tense second half and America Olivo.

-simply just can't show any special effects on screen - doesn't matter""Circle": My god, avoid it like the plague: it's disappointing fromstart to finish. It wants to be a serial killer/slasher movie but it'sjust plain bad. The cast is not that terrible, but the story is.There's no tension, no excitement and certainly no surprises. A group of students spent the night in the house of an escaped murderer(Halloween: Resurrection anyone ?) and the killer returns that night.Meanwhile, the police is trying to figure out what his next move is. "Circle" has a couple of attractive girls who show their breasts (trustme, nothing to be too exciting about) but fails on every other level:it's boring, stupid and just doesn't deliver. The killer is best knownfor his role in the popular TV series "Prison Break" (as "Haywire" sokind of the same character)He's not interesting at all and is supposedto be scary because of the 'albino' looking eyes. (come on..) The worst problem is the total lack of any effects or gore. Thekillings happen mostly off-screen or are simply hardly seen at all.That's right: this is a horror-slasher without a special-effects team(How is that possible ?) and besides a couple of shots of blood youdon't see anything at all ! To conclude with the "surprising"-ending: what the hell ? They alreadydiscussed this in the movie: As a viewer you know what will happen atthe end. And it's once again a major disappointment. But hey, it'sfinally over and you can totally forget about this garbage. No idea why they still make junk like this. It really gives the genre abad name. Just watch something good for the second time instead of thisturkey..

For CSI Fans

For those folks that love those crime shows like CSI will enjoy this film. Two agents try to solve the mystery surrounding the murders, they gather clues, prints, witnesses and do everything you would see in a Crime show. The know who the killer is, just dont know where he is and what he's planning next. Meanwhile some college students go away to the "killers" house to do some research for their school on the very same guy. Little do they know, that the "killer" Escaped and is ready to gather up his new circle of victims. Nice little twist towards the end. I will be disappointed if there isn't a sequel.

One of those movies you wonder how you missed

This review is from: Circle (DVD) This is a great suspense movie with a great cast and fun effects... I am going to give it out as gifts to all my movie loving friends

Worse film I have ever had to sit through

I never write reviews but after having to sit through this I just can'tfathom how a movie this bad can be funded and released. The worseacting, the worse plot, an old style typical chase scene that fizzlesand the most unfulfilled, stupid ending of all time. Is just so bad Ihope the creative team never get a chance to be hired ever again in thefilm business. Thats how bad this is - a total failure and a rip offall round. Some bad movies can be funny - this one just leaves youshaking your head in disbelief when its over. The film has no redeemingfeatures but I must point out how bad the acting is. The plot has beendone a thousand times and is so predictable it leaves you yawning. Atleast I didn't pay for it, it was on my premium pay network but I doresent them carrying this and will let them know. I pay for them tosort out the good films from the bad not just put on anything that getsreleased. Don't waste your time on this one.

Watch this while you're surfing the web or something

Basically, this is about a glorified psychopath that has escaped. Theykeep talking about how smart he is, how his light eyes signify "power,"and blah blah blah, but they fail to produce any evidence of his geniusand power. He's basically just a guy who started killing small animalsand graduated to killing people - your basic serial killer. To behonest, I was surfing the web the entire time I was watching this,which actually made it slightly more enjoyable. I think if I wasn'tsurfing the web, it would have been brutally slow, predictable, andpainful to watch. You can pretty much see all of the twists and turns(if you can call them that) coming, and even the dialog is predictable.Supposedly, the killer is into some kind of Greek numerology, which ifdone correctly, it's supposed to give him that much more power. They gointo it briefly, but it's something that a high school student'simagination can come up with and then they don't really go too far indepth on it. So, it's a half hearted effort to mystify the killer andprovide some insight into why he does what he does. Overall, since itwas slightly entertaining while surfing the web I'd put this between a3 and a 4, but I decided to be generous and give it a 4.
