Its another variation of the classic Scooby-Doo plot device with the gang investigating a snow creature, but this time, its on Mount Everest with the Abominable Snowman. Shaggy and Scooby-Doo wind up on the wrong flight and wind up going to India, ruining the Mystery Inc. gangs vacation in Paris. They learn about the Snowman and are really afraid, of course. Then it becomes a huge mystery to solve when Fred, Daphne and Velma try to find Scooby and Shaggy, as well as the snow creature.

We have taken some photos of "Chill Out, Scooby-Doo!". They represent actual movie quality.
Shaggy and Scooby get on the wrong plane when en route to meet the rest of the Mystery Inc. gang in Paris and end up lost in the Himalayas while an abdominal snowman is on the loose. There is the usual amount of suspects and motives but it's just fresh enough to prevent the plot from becoming tiresome. The animation just gets better and better with each entry in the Scooby-Doo series and the bright colors and active sound design are a long way from the grainy TV show back in 1969 (though that still has its charm). Fans of the series will be glad to hear that the character of Dell Chillman from Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster returns for this one, giving some continuity to the otherwise unrelated mysteries.I must admit that I preferred it when the monsters ended up being real but I guess that each mystery has its own logic and you'll be surprised at who is behind the mask of the adorable snowman.Keep 'em coming, Warner. That ol' Great Dane could live to a hundred. What does really bug me is that this movie was drawn and framed in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Warner only offers a Full Frame DVD. This is completely unacceptable behavior in 2008, especially since a couple of the previous animated movies were released in anamorphic widescreen here in the UK. The sound is in Dolby 5.1 and a small amount of extras are included. These would look great on Blu Ray, btw. Hint! Hint!
This was actually a pretty interesting movie. This was the last movieJoseph Barbera worked on, and it is thankfully the last one SanderSchwartz worked on. He was the one that ruined Scooby-Doo in 2002, andagain in 2006. However, I'm quite happy to say that I liked this one.The "Pirates Ahoy" one was pretty good, despite being merely to cashinto the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trend. When I first heard of this,I figured it was going to be another Snow Ghost/Creature/Demonterrorizing a ski lodge or something similar. But instead it has thismystical Indian thing about the snow monster, which is pretty unusualfor the franchise. Also, Shaggy is thankfully voiced by Casey Kasem inthis one instead of that Scott Menville like on "Shaggy and Scooby-DooGet a Clue!" But Frank Welker probably needs to practice voicingScooby; he still makes him sound like Brain, the "Inspector Gadget" doghe voiced (now we need Cree "Penny" Summer as Velma and we'd be allset!) One thing that made this rather interesting was that it focusedmore on Shaggy and Scooby-Doo than the rest of the gang! It could bebecause of the "Get a Clue" series, though the animation is not done inthat crude Flash style but in the "What's New Scooby-Doo" style usedfor the 2004-present made-for-video movies. It was pretty funny seeingShaggy as a DJ (Casey Kasem is well-known for being a DJ actually!) Thesound effects factor, they only used the classic H-B sound effects forexaggerated comedy sequences with Scooby and Shaggy. This is ironic, because when Warner Bros. Animation made the Cool Cat and Merlin theMagic Mouse cartoons back in 1967 to 1969, they relied on using theHanna-Barbera sound effects a lot, even the same ones over and over! There weren't any thunderstorms here, so Castle Thunder wasn't used, let alone other storm SFX. Fred was still acting rather clueless likein "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" (I thought he was going to blame RedHerring on being the monster!) and it was nice to see his ascot at onepart. I also enjoyed Daphne's complaining about going on anothermystery. This also might be the last movie to use a Hanna-Barbera logoat the end, which will be good because H-B wasn't involved in producingthe movie; Warner Bros. Animation did all the work. It's just as odd asseeing an H-B logo at the end of a classic Bugs Bunny cartoon! BecauseI saw this on Cartoon Network, the credits were too small and Icouldn't tell if there was a Joe Barbera dedication, but it diddedicate the movie to Iwao Takamoto (the guy that designed the Scoobygang). It would've been nice to see a little animated bumper dedicatingthe movie to Joe Barbera before the H-B and WB closing logos, like on"Zombie Island" (they had Scooby feed some cats that he fought withearlier and dedicated it to Don Messick). However, I recommend this, especially if you want to see something different than "Shaggy andScooby-Doo Get a Clue!"

This review is from: Chill Out, Scooby-Doo! (Amazon Instant Video) This dvd is a nice movie. I bought it for my 3 year old but now that he has a tablet, I had no use for it.
This review is from: Chill Out, Scooby-Doo! [HD] (Amazon Instant Video) The HD version of Chill Out, Scooby Doo! is in Widescreen true HD format. It's not upscaled and fills a 16x9 screen TV completely with more detail to the right and left of the DVD version which I just checked on.I had doubts because it has not been announced or released for Bluray yet.The DVD was 4:3 but i took a chance. The HD rental IS a real HD scan of the original Widescreen production. If you checked the wikipedia of this one you would confirm that it was originally done in WS but released in Full Frame 4:3 because of the prevailing TV at the time.
this is a pretty good Scooby Doo movie.it's fast paced, with someinteresting characters, and the story is interesting.beyond that, themovie is fun to watch.Scooby and the gang are supposed to bevacationing in Paris, but end up in Nepal, battling the abominablesnowman, and trying to unravel the mystery as they go.this Scooby Doomovie has a lot more action than many i've seen so far,and it's alsoquite funny.fans of Scooby and the gang are sure to like it,and evenpeople who have never seen a Scooby Doo adventure should find itentertaining.if you haven't seen it you should check it out.forme,Chill Out Scooby Doo is a 7/10
This review is from: Chill Out Scooby-Doo! - Original Movie (DVD) The item was delivered quickly and in good order. My grandson watched the video movie and enjoyed it just as he enjoys almost all Scooby-doo movies.
I don't think the film was perfect, but I myself found it veryworthwhile to watch. The plot is very simple and fun, and I thought theanimation was very, very good, very colourful and fluid. Nice to seeParis, which is just an amazing city, I strongly recommend you go ifyou haven't already. The soundtrack was very nice too, and as usual thevoice talents were excellent. Casey Kasem never fails to bring a smileto my face as Shaggy, I know I use this phrase a lot, but I find himvery entertaining. Other voice actors that do that for me too arepeople like Jodi Benson, Tim Curry, Tony Jay and Frank Welker. Speakingof Welker, I much prefer Don Messick as Scooby, but Welker wasn't atall bad, though I do think he was better as Fred. Mindy Cohn and GreyDeLisle are fine too, and Daphne looks really pretty here, well she'salways been pretty. In supporting roles, Rene Auberjoinis and AlfredMolina are very entertaining. Chill Out Scooby Doo does have its flawsthough. Like What's New Scooby Doo? with the absence of the soundeffects, it just lacked that Hanna Barbera touch. As much as I likedthe plot, I do think the perpetrator got obvious a bit too early, butthat's just an inkling that I have. My main problem was that I thoughtI noticed a contradiction. Daphne says in one scene "a yeti, what's ayeti?" and I found it odd at the time. Then it occurred to me, thenagain I could be wrong, that there was a Scooby Doo Where Are Youepisode when the gang chase a snow ghost, referred to by a supportingcharacter as a yeti. Overall, a very entertaining Scooby Doo film, notthe best, but a definite improvement on the appalling Shaggy and ScoobyDoo Get a Clue. 7/10 Bethany Cox.
id probably give this movie a 3.5. a 4 is a bit generous. well the movie was pretty good. it was a bit different since shaggy and scooby were separated from the gang. however the monster was pretty obvious at the end.
This review is from: Chill Out Scooby-Doo! - Original Movie (DVD) My daughter, who has Down Syndrome, is quite the Scooby Doo fan, so she was thrilled to receive this dvd for an Easter gift. I have not heard any complaints, nor do I expect to.
This review is from: Chill Out Scooby-Doo! - Original Movie (DVD) My kids love this movie! It is another great job by Scooby Doo!
Great movie - I love the fact that Shaggy (who's voice is done by the legendary Casey Kasem) gets to do a radio DJ show - classic!!Great for kids and adults!!!
Giving you a brief rundown of where I stand, (# 1) "Zombie Island" was arguably the best. (# 2) "Witch's Ghost" was a great runner up. (# 3) "Alien Invasion" had its moments. I did not much like (# 4) "Cyber Chase." (# 5) "Legend of the Vampire" was surprisingly good. (# 6) "Monster of Mexico" was weak, but it had its moments. (# 7) "Loch Ness Monster" was interesting. I did like (# 8) "Aloha Scooby Doo." (# 9) "Where's My Mummy?" was pretty good. (# 10) "Pirates Ahoy" quickly became one of my all time favorites. After the GREAT 10th chapter "Pirates Ahoy," I was hoping this 11th chapter would be as good or better. Sadly, I found it to fall short of "Pirates Ahoy" in many ways. The story starts with Fred, Velmah, and Daphne enjoying a vacation in France. But somehow, Scooby and Shaggy have ended up in the frozen lands of the Abominable Snowman. So, Fred, Daphne, and Velmah have their vacation plans changed (as usual). Shaggy and Scooby meet some archaeologists, who seem to be afraid of the possible presence of the Abominable Snowman. I don't deny that there are some good moments. Scooby and Shaggy run into Del Chilman (from "Loch Ness Monster"). He is a weatherman. He is still a bit strange, but he has mellowed significantly. (Ok. He grew a little since we last saw him.) Without giving the ending away, there is a cute deviation from the typical monster formula. But one character is made out to be the bad guy, and he really didn't do anything illegal. Overall, this 11th chapter lacks the tight unity, suspense, misleads, and comical moments of many of Scooby's other movies. ("Zombie Island" and "Pirates Ahoy" especially.) I don't deny it had its moments. And it was nice to see Del Chilman again. But it was a sad way to follow "Pirates Ahoy."
This review is from: Chill Out Scooby-Doo! - Original Movie (DVD) ......You scooby doo fans out there, this is a classic.Great story with all the typical nonsense that goes with it.Check it out!
This review is from: Chill Out Scooby-Doo! - Original Movie (DVD) And of course it was. This mad e a terrific stocking stuffer for our scooby doo themed Christmas. Kids love Scooby.
My five-year old twin nephews LOVE this video! They've watched it over and over! And, anything that can hold their attention for more than five minutes is a blessing!
This review is from: Chill Out Scooby-Doo! - Original Movie (DVD) Chill Out: Scooby Doo is family fun at it's best. Scooby, Shaggy and the gang are supposed to go to Paris, but Scooby and Shaggy end up on the wrong flight and what follows is a laugh out loud and scary good time, but not according to Shaggy and Scooby. This movie features the return of Fan Favorite Del Chillman previously seen in Scooby Doo and The Loch Ness Monster as a Nessy fanatic, who provides some comic relief. Del is equally funny in Chill Out: Scooby Doo. Shaggy, Daphne and Velma provided some of Chill Out: Scooby Doo's best lines. This is a fun movie and it's also one Scooby's Classic movies of all time.
