Bride of Chucky....

For the first time since its' conception, Chucky takes center stage in this movie but not without a lil' help. The story itself goes something like this...Brought back to life by his former girlfriend Tiffany(Jennifer Tilly), Chucky(Brad Dourif) proceeds to turn his human sweetie into a pint-sized talking doll with attitude just like himself, and together they hit the road looking for a magic amulet and young new bodies to inhabit. That's where the fun begins. They hitch a ride with runaways Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile and leave a trail of corpses behind. John Ritter and Alexis Arquette also star in the movie. The conclusion, however, leaves things open for the sequel "Seed of Chucky". But, it's still a fun ride, nonetheless. In my opinion, Bride of Chucky is just the shot in the arm needed to revive the ten-year old series. I've loved the series since it first came out and, even though I love Freddy-Jason-Michael Myers and Pinhead too(they all kick some serious behind themselves), they've got nothing on ol' Chucky. He's a pint-sized terror that gives you plenty of laughs with all the gore. Ronny Yu(of Freddy Vs Jason) directs the movie and does an outstanding job at breathing new life into the Chucky saga.

Funny and scary at the same time!!

If you like humor, stupid good humor in your horror movies, then thisone is defitnently for you!! It has a lot going for it. The two dolls, chucky and his bride, are very real like, and they make you think theyare actually real people the way they express themselves at times. Thewriting in this film, I thought was great. Good Job, writers! I wasentertained most of the two or some hours watching this. The acting wasgood enough as well. All in all this movie deserved my 8 out of 10stars, it was just that, 8 out of 10, very good! This movie should be aclassic, that all horror buffs should see, because it's funny, fun, entertaining, and gory all in one.Very nicely done!!

Hardly a good movie but still a lot of fun to watch

Before Chucky turned killer doll, he had a girlfriend named Tiffany. In this movie Tiffany recovers the body of Chucky from a polive evidence locker. Chucky was pretty much torn to pieces in 3 so she sews him back together and uses the vodoo chant to bring his spirit back to the body. He returns just as evil as ever and horror/comedy takes up the rest of the movie. This is not a good film. It is a horror movie that is so over the top on ridiculousness that it borders on comedy. I never thought I would see Chucky the killer doll, who I feared so much as a child, in a love scene. Seeing Tiffany the killer doll making cookies for Chucky while they're holding a couple hostage is quite amusing. The domestic dispute that develops between the dolls shortly after this is just hilarious. This movie isn't for everyone. You'll enjoy this if you were a fan of Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason or the Evil Dead movies. If you have a dark sense of humor you'll probably love this movie.

THIS IS NOT A HORROR MOVIE, THIS IS A HORRIBLE MOVIE.

That's the kind of cheap humor that "Bride Of Chucky" has, and obviously the producers of the "Child's Play" sequels think that the audience is plain stupid, "let's make a half-cooked movie, with idiotic jokes, and cheap actors, it doesn't matter because the audience is fool enough to buy a ticket", it's an insult that with all the potential that the world of the movies has, movies like this (with a 5 pages script, stiff performances, ridiculous jokes and so little intelligence) are still being made.To be honest, I kinda liked this movie back in 1998, but I was in high school so I guess that this "movie" is good enough to entertain 16 year old teens. "Bride Of Chucky" continues the downward spiral of the "Child's Play" sequels, compared to this junk, "Child's Play" 1 & 2 are two glorious, inventive masterpieces, wich they are not by the way. Although the first one is good and the second part is amusing."Bride Of Chucky" has a collection of pathetic performances, as a matter of fact, the best performances are only vocal, that's right Brad Dourif as Chucky and Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany are the only performances that are OK, but that doesn't matter, because the thin script and the dull jokes ruin their performances. So Chucky needed an amulet to return to a human body, huh? Then why he bothered to chase Andy in the first 3 movies if he didn't had the amulet? He even recited his chant to transfer his soul to Andy, and he didn't had the silly thing with him. There is a picture of the dead body of Charles Lee Ray in a newspaper, and in the first movie a lightning hit the body after he passed his soul to the doll, so don't be afraid if you are struck by a lightning because according to "Bride Of Chucky", you won't get burned. Oh, and be sure that you keep your female dolls in one room, and your male dolls in other room, because according to "Bride Of Chucky", your female dolls could get pregnant. And be sure that you aren't around when the baby doll is borne, because he will jump right to you with his sharp teethes. And now there is going to be an upcoming fifth part of the "Child's Play" series, but I think that it couldn't be as bad as "Bride Of Chucky", but if Hollywood has proven something, is that they don't care for the intelligence of the viewers as long as they pay for a ticket or a DVD.

This movie was pretty funny

After seeing the other Chucky movies, "Bride" really wasn't on my list. If it wasn't for Nick Stabile, with whom I went to high school with in Colorado, I probably still would not have seen it. As it turns out, it was a pretty funny flick. Of course, with any of these types of movies, you can't really take them serious! The first one was a bit creepy. Not scary. Yet stupid. This one pretty much kept me in stitches. The concept of how Chucky even came about was clever. Jennifer Tilly surprisingly did a good job of playing the bride. And given the story line he had to work with, Nick did a great job too!

One Of The *BEST* Chucky Movies!!

If you haven't seen this movie you are missing out on a fantastic movie. But I suggest watching the Child's Play movies in order, so you know what is going. I have two favorite Child's Play movies. My two favroites are Child's Play 2 and The Bride Of Chucky. I think that the beginning of The Bride Of Chucky is so funny. I can't wait until Child's Play 2 and The Bride Of Chucky come out on DVD next month, which I plan on buying. If you haven't seen the Child's Play movies I suggest going to your local video store and renting them. Once you rent the movies you will want to buy them, I sure did. My first DVD I bought is Child's Play. I first bought my DVD player because I couldn't find Child's Play on VHS in the stores to buy, but I could find it on DVD. I even have my own Chucky doll (the doll came from a claw machine). Chucky rocks!! I think that Brad Dourif did a fantastic job at playing the role of Charles Lee Ray/Chucky. I just bought the Child's Play 3 DVD from eBay, which is NOT available on DVD in North America. The DVD is a PAL DVD, NOT all DVD players in the USA are PAL compatible. I know that the Apex company makes a NTSC/PAL DVD player which is the player that I have. So if you plan on buying Child's Play 3 on DVD you will have to buy it from either the United Kingdom, Austraila or Scotland.Chucky is the *BEST*

How could anyone dislike a film featuring hot doll sex?

Sexy murderess Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) still yearns for a life ofwedded bliss with ex-boyfriend, crazed killer Charles 'Chucky' Lee Ray.After getting her hands on the mutilated Good Guy doll that last playedhost to his spirit, and doing a spot of repair work, she conducts asatanic ritual that returns his life to the toy.Unfortunately for poor Tiff, the reanimated maniac shows no interest inmarriage, and so she traps him in a cage, with a bride doll forcompany. Eventually, a rather angry Chucky (voiced by Brad Dourif)escapes his confines, electrocutes Tiffany in the bath, and traps hersoul in his 'bride' as retribution.Realising that they are now both in the same predicament, the plasticpair put their differences aside and decide to head for Hackensack, NewJersey, where they can lay their hands on the magical amulet that canrelocate their spirits into human hosts. Tricking trailer park hunkJesse (Nick Stabile) and his tasty girlfriend Jade (Katherine Heigl)into taking them to their destination, the psycho dolls embark on amurderous rampage, with their unwitting companions copping the blame.Although the idea of a kid's doll being possessed by the spirit of amass murderer has always been rather comical, it wasn't until thefourth film in the Child's Play series that the makers fully embracedthe sheer lunacy of the premise, opting to plays things much more forlaughs than for scares (although there is still plenty of OTT splatterfor us gore-hounds to enjoy).Talented Hong Kong director Ronny Yu oversees proceedings, deftlytranslating the witty tongue-in-cheek script into a slick andthoroughly enjoyable cinematic ride. Similarly, the excellent casthandle the camp material perfectly, with Stabile and Heigl making alikable couple, but smoking hot Tilly stealing the show as blonde, buxom, pouting, PVC-mini-skirted temptress Tiffany. Kevin Yagher'simpressively expressive doll effects also go a long way to making thefilm such a success.Overall, this film is unlikely to find many fans amongst 'serious'horror aficionados, but those who enjoy the odd spot of mindlesspopcorn entertainment, full of twisted, black humour, crazy deathscenes, and magnificent cleavages should have a blast.

I Loved this movie

This movie was all that. Not because of the horror, because it had very little suspense, but because of its comedy. This movie was very funny. Chucky and Tiffany as husband and wife was so amusing. This movie should have been classified as an action/comedy, but a good one.

4th in the series and still not that bad!!

I will be honest, i rented this movie solely on the fact it was part of the"Child's Play" series. I was expecting a boring dull 4th part too theseries, but i was surprised. This movie was surprisingly good, and i found itto be quite funny. There was a lot of dark humor, and the idea to have twodolls was a good way to spice things up. The two dolls worked well togetherand added a bonnie and clyde type fell to the movie. Overall it was verygood for a 4th movie in the series, with some gruesome death scenes (justwatch the marilyn manson type get killed at the beginning, not to mentionjohn ritter getting a face full of nails). Applauds to the writers forspicing things up, and the ending although i found it a bit strange leavesroom for yet ANOTHER sequel...maybe "son of chucky"!!!

Chucky turns sides

Very sad movie...chucky goes from ruthless killer to Mini-Freddy, spillin gout jokes and quipps. Hes not scary and hes not funny...hes just a sad disaster played out on screen in the worst sequal to the Childs Play series. Chucky is resurresd by his old flame and puts her soul into a female doll and take a couple hostage to a cemetary across country to get a relic. This movie has so many unanswered questions...in the 3rd movie, chuckys is litterly blended into mush...in this movie, when we 1st see him, hes in some pieces...then he talks about how he can only transfer his soul into a body with the relic he was burried with...um..so then why didnt he need them in the first 3 movies? bad plot, bad acting...but Katherine Heigl in this movie is HOT! thats why i gave it 2 stars! this is more of a comedy than a horror...move on..youre not missing a thing...

Revival of Chucky SPOILER!!

I have been an avid fan of Child's Play since its start. The firstmovie was truly a classic. After that it just sort of gotboring...pretty quick.Bride of Chucky was responsible not only for reviving Chucky's status, but it also took the character on a better path. Bride of Chucky tookthe total horror basis for its three predecessors, and became more of ahorror/comedy.From start to finish this movie is enjoyable by fans of Chucky andanyone who enjoys funny movies where people die horrible deaths at thehands of a homicidal doll couple. The movie introduces Tiffany, the romantist who revives Chucky after 7years, with hope of marriage, but instead, Chucky breaks her heart. After breaking out of his planpen prison, Chucky kills Tiffany, putsher soul in a doll, and the two take advantage of a young couple to getto Jersey. After some fun on the road, a love scene..., and some gruesome deaths, the movie climaxes in a graveyard, where both Chucky and Tiffany die. This movie is truly a great flick to watch anytime...9.9/10

Eat Your Heart Out, Barbie!

Certainly far and away the best of the "Child's Play" series. Jennifer Tilly really puts it all together at Tiffany and puts the movie right over the top. It's the perfect mix of horror and comedy (come on, folks, like the first three were scary?). I hope there is another edition coming out soon. This movie outgrossed "Beloved" 2:1. What better endorsement could you want?

The series got ressurrected with this one

Chucky is once again ressurrected, But only this time, His long-lost girlfriend [Jennifer Tilly] gets a hold of him, But Chucky later kills her and he places her soul into a female doll and together, They cause brutal mayhem. Following the tedious Child's Play 3 [Which explains why Chucky's all sowned together in this film, Being he was thrown into a fan at the end of part 3], This is a welcome breath of fresh air. This film has some wonderful doses of dark comedy as well as some interesting murder scenes and some cool new characters. This is another great sequel in the ongoing saga of Chucky. Followed by Seed Of Chucky.

this is a kool funny horror

I am a fun of CHILDSPLAY, and I believe that this series of sequels iscult.I love Chucky and the way he talks and he is mean. Especially when he saysbad words or when he's laughing he's magnificent! Part II used to be myfaveand I expected the Pt4 (bride of chucky) to be as stupid as the 3rd of thesequels was. I was wrong!! The Pt4 is as entertaining to me, as part IIwas! It's funny and has some really nasty gore and effects! A truechildsplay

Please, please don't take this movie seriously!

As long as you don't, you should have tons of fun. I haven't seen any ofthe previous Chucky films, but I know the basic gist of the original (aserial killer inhabits a doll) and didn't feel in any way lost. First off,I must say any movie that plays "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie in theopening credits is in my cool book. You couldn't have picked a better songto open the film. I made a student film in which I edited an openingmontage set to Rob Zombie's "Superbeast" and that was the only part of themovie I was proud of. The movie is packed with dark, tongue-in-cheek humor. One thing you can'taccuse this movie of is not being original. Name another movie with adoll-on-doll sex scene! The scene contains my favorite line in the movie. Chucky's bride asks him, "Do you have a rubber?" Chucky responds, "I'm ALLrubber!" Classic! Absolutely classic!Jennifer Tilly has never looked sexier, and is incredibly seductive in thefirst 30-or-so minutes in which she is still human. John Ritter has atotally offbeat role that made me laugh with delight. "Bride of Chucky" probably won't scare you, but it never ceases to entertainand made me laugh throughout. My score: 7 (out of 10)

Brilliant Black Comedy

4th Child's Play movie succeeds on all counts, with incredible black comedyreplacing horror. After gaining a bride, Chucky hops on to a crosscountrytrek with two young lovers. All the actors have great fun playing theircharacters. Movie is filled with in-jokes and features props andplays-on-names of older horror series, including Friday The 13th and TheOmen. Followed by a sequel, "Son Of Chucky".***1/2

I'm all rubber

-After his former murdering girlfriend brings him back to life the evil doll Chucky double crosses her by transferring her soul into a doll leading the two of them to find suitable bodies in order to transfer their bodies into in hopes of teaming up and becoming the next Bonnie and Clyde. Their journey is complicated by two love struck teens who can't catch a break due to the girl's obsessive uncle who just happen to be a dirty cop.-The thing that drives me insane about this movie is how no one realizes that Chucky is a doll. The man is like what 3 feet tall and 12 pounds so all you have to do is just kick the little f**ker and you're done. Why no one in the movie has figured this out is beyond me. The first Chucky worked great and I really enjoyed it because his victim was a kid so naturally he won't be as strong but the ones in this movie who are adults so you'd think they'll have more sense and just kick the guy or something. -Where as the first movie and it's sequels went for straight horror this one tends to border on parody and self deprecating humor which was great because the movie realizes how silly it really is. My favorite joke in the movie is probably when Chucky admits that if his life was movie it would take 2 or 3 sequels to do it justice which is a joke at how many sequels he's being in. Before "Team America" had its infamous sex scene of puppets having all kinds of sex this movie had a doll sex scene that was pretty funny and equally disturbing as well. There is a very funny moment in the sex scene when Tiff asks if Chucky is wearing rubber and he replies by telling her that he is indeed all rubber. I'm sure smart sophisticated people won't laugh at that joke but I found it hilarious. When compared to other horror movies the death scenes aren't all that special although the nails through the face was pretty good but overall they don't really stand out plus there's not that many.-Or me the sheer stupidity of a doll killing people just prevents me from warming up to the movie but I sorta liked it and it's funny so it's worth a rental or watching on Starz
