I saw it when it came on cartoonetwork at first before it came on I thought it was going to be like the first one.But I was wrong it was way better than the first one if you ever watch the TV show and liked it then your enjoy this movie.Every thing about the show was just like in the movie Kevin was cool and funny ,Gwen powers was the same wich was cool but Ben did the best job in the movie and his aliens where way better then the first movie.I think they should make another one I just have one more thing to say just give it a chance dont judge a book buy its cover but the cover is cool to thanks.
I have this movie at home. It's a really good movie.I hope you guys like it. It's a really good movie. It's a really good movie, actually.
This review is from: Ben 10 Alien Swarm (DVD) I have never seen this series, so I didn't understand what was going on. I probably would not recomment this one unless they understand the series and have watched it on Cartoon Network.
In 2008, when I first saw the brief preview for Ben 10: Alien Swarm, Ithough, "oh no, they are not making a stupid and horrible movie of Ben10: Alien Force, not the better series". In early 2009 is when I sawmore previews for Ben 10: Alien Swarm, I thought that it didn't lookthat bad.In summer 2009, I was waiting for a preview to show some aliens in itbesides Nanomech (I already found out due to the movie set in the toyline), than on Youtube, I saw a trailer with Big Chill and Humungousaurin it.I was really waiting for the movie, when it finally was on, I jumpedinto my seat with joy. When it was over, I was a little disappointedbut I said to my father; "It wasn't good, but definitely better thanBen 10: Race against Time" I give Ben 10: Alien Swarm a 6 out of 10because it's better than the original.Never too late to make a Ben 10: Ultimate Alien movie.
Now I have to admit I'm already sixteen and that movies like this should make me sick but in all truth, I loved this movie! It was absolutely fantastic. The cast was well thought out and played their parts almost exactly like the animated characters. There were plenty of action scenes and the occasional cheesy scenes, but all "live action" movies have those. The plot was pretty good considering it's just a spin-off of a childrens show but.... The music was great too. The only real complaint I have about this movie is the slightly cheesy effects. Some of them were actually pretty cool like Ben's transformations and stuff but some were just plain bad. It is DEFINITELY worth the price you're going to pay.
Let me begin by saying that if you are reading this review after Ben 10 Ultimate Alien comes out, there might be some mistaken info in here, as this was written a week before it's premiere. With that out of the way, I'll say that Ben 10 Alien Swarm sounds like it could be a great movie, but it had some problems. The casting was great (though Grandpa Max was debatable), the plot was phenomenal, and the special effects were amazing. Now for the bad points. Uh, on second thought, I'll just list this as pros and cons.Pros Great Casting (again, give or take Max). Great Plot. Great Special Effects. a VERY COOL new alien (don't worry, I won't spoil his name for those who haven't seen this) Sorry, but that's it for pros.Cons VERY few fight scenes. Gwen didn't act quite like she did in the show. (She had a lot more spunk) The team had an UNDERGROUND BASE o_0 (seriously, who came up with that) Gwen didn't use her force fields in the movie (make of that what you will) There weren't many of Ben's aliens, unless you count those little holograms that appeared over the Omnitrix from time to timeand the NUMBER ONE THING THAT BOTHERED MEthe continuity issue......I know for a fact that the new alien and Ben's new (how shall I say) "vehicle" are NOT going to appear until Ben 10 Ultimate Alien (which looks great by the way). Okay, so maybe the movie takes place during Ultimate Alien (which might explain the UNDERGROUND BASE o_0 but I doubt it) But that still leaves out the fact that he called his watch the Omnitrix instead of the ******trix (I'm NOT going to spoil THAT for you) after the Alien Force season finale. Not to mention the fact that Ben wasn't well known as a hero like he supposedly is in Ultimate Alien. In conclusion this is an okay film (DEFINITELY better than Race Against Time) and a nice purchase for a young Ben Tennyson fan or two, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a Ben 10 dvd, especially if you're an older fan, like I am. All in all, I would buy all the volumes of the tv series that this movie is based on before buying this movie.
This review is from: Ben 10 Alien Swarm (DVD) My son loves Ben 10 and had been waiting on this movie "forever". He received it for Christmas and has watched it 100x's since!
The storyline(that was okay) of the television movie follows Ben as he makes the tough and somewhat contentious decision to break ranks with his fellow Plumber allies in order to help a friend in need. The movie was not all that good there was so much animaion that it looked like there was an outline it was terrible and gwen was a goodie 2 shoes a preppy meanie but with all bad things are good things gwens moves for 1 her flips and another girl her moves really matched her outfit other then gwen and bens character looked just like the cartoon but story good acting pretty good direction good visuals okay and the overall grade is a c- to a b+ so it deserves a c so thats what it gets but overall the movie was okay cartoon is awesome in comparison let me just say this movie sucked cartoon rocked but the movie is still worth seeing thats all i can say. BUT as i said movie sucked cartoon still rocks.
this movie is great great acting and everything the stunts were great story B+ acting A- direction A- visuals A overall the movie was great B+.
I sat and watched this film for (ahem) the kids and i loved it, being asecret Ben 10 fan (shhh, don't tell my sons) it delivered on so manylevels. I loved the portrayal of all the characters especially KevinLevin, brilliant. The story flowed well, and was consistentlyinteresting. However, i felt the character of Elena a little, annoying, and the fact that all was forgiven with her father...not great, afterall if he hadn't have been tampering with the chips...but hey its a kidfilm, and needs to be positive. They are my only complaints regardingthe film.I loved the car chase scene with Kevin and Gwen in the dodge with thechips following them, great scene. The film is filled with technology, cars, and action. What more can you ask for? Its funny, and wellwritten with witty one liners. So if you want an easy to watch film, that is easy going, and exciting, give Alien Swarm a go, it wontdisappoint
Cartoon Network definitely learned from their first Ben 10 live actionmovie. The special effects, acting, and action are better. What Ididn't like about the movie is how Grandpa Max and other charactershave such a hard time believing Elena. I would have rather liked themto have chose a character from Ben's past that has previously appearedin the series and not a character that appeared in Ben's past, but notin the series. Even with that, Elena is a good character and it'sawesome when she fights. My favorite scene is when Ben 10 transformsinto Nanomech and fights the queen. If there is a live action Ben 10film for the coming up series, I hope that it is as good as this orbetter. When this comes out on DVD, I want to own it.
Alien Swarm is not as good as the cartoons series Ben 10, Alien Forceand Ultimate Alien, but in every way it outdoes thedisappointing-but-better-than-its-reputation Race Against Time. Whilethe pace could have steadied a bit and it is lacking a bit in emotionaldepth particularly in the first half(though Ben does develop verywell), the direction is far more assured and the actors fit the partsmuch better and feel more comfortable. The production values are also an improvement, the photography, lighting and locations are very reasonable for a TV movie, and theeffects are pretty great, especially with Big Chill and in the finale. The soundtrack is rousing, the script has its humorous andthought-provoking moments, the story unfolds very nicely with a strongunderlying mystery and the action is well-choreographed particularly inthe chase sequences.Overall, a surprisingly good film and outdoes Race Against Time inevery way. 8/10 Bethany Cox
This review is from: Ben 10: Alien Swarm [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) It is so for kids... I did not see aliens, not even single one, instead there was someone (might be alien) who must naive stand still like a zombie and wait till somebody from "heroes" would kick him so many times until poor zombie hit the ground. Movie has a lot of CGI but characters look like overact too much. In too words that unrealistic imagination does not take your breath away.As for quality it looks like blu ray was produced by someone rookie. HD picture was mixed with overexposed low resolution quality every 20-30 seconds of movie. If you'll pay attention at every shade spot you can see "send storm" of white pixels running through it flickering like under candle light. It's like an old film movie where you could see low quality because of micro-scratches on 35mm film. I had couple blu rays like this and had to return it. It is shame on those who produce that kind crap quality letting down to all others hard work (actors, producers and so on).If you are something like under 15 you may will like this movie.
A very effective "B" movie, way better in every possible way than theprevious live action "Ben 10." The directing, acting, production designand visual effects are considerably improved this time around, verynice indeed for a low-budget cable film. Clearly, the filmmakersactually tried to make a decent film (take note, Sy-Fy). Sure, thescript is pretty much by-the-numbers and contains no surprises, but youcan't really expect top-notch screen writing in a picture like this.If this turns out to be a ratings success, I wouldn't mind seeing liveaction versions of some of Cartoon Networks other series, such as "TheSecret Saturdays."
I thought that this movie was great, anyone who's a fan of Ben TenAlien Force would totally enjoy this movie. From the acting to thespecial effects this movie really delivers. The casting director andthe hair/make-up/costume crew did a great job making everyone look likethe actual cartoon characters (although, Grandpa Max didn't really fit,and Gwen's top didn't fit the actress well). The only REAL issue I have with this movie was that fact that it was sopredictable and that the writers didn't do anything to create any sortof twist (but then again what do you expect it's a TV movie). I totallythink that this series would rock as a feature film.
This review is from: Ben 10 Alien Swarm (DVD) My seven year old son loves the cartoon version. This movie was actually pretty well done and he watched it several times in one weekend. Some of the acting lacked somewhat and I did not like the casting for "grandpa". With a bigger budget it could have rivaled movies like Spiderman and Transformers. In all it turned out pretty good for being based on a cartoon. Any Ben 10 fan will most likely like this movie.
This review is from: Ben 10 Alien Swarm (DVD) I saw a preview for this film on a Cinemark Theatre monitor in their lobby and was intrigued enough to buy it. I had never seen the cartoon on the Cartoon Network, but this movie was well worth the price and was very entertaining. The actor who played Kevin Levin, Nathan Keyes, really stole the show, in my opinion. He is a very confident actor and seeing him behind the wheel of a sports car not only seemed believable but looked natural for him. Kevin's character is kind of like the high school jock, without the compulsion to be a bully, and with a sharp mind to go along with it. Ryan Kelley, who played Ben, was quite good as well, and certainly added to the movie. But Keyes was extremely well cast and for me portrayed the most memorable character, and was very likeable despite his bad boy persona. I suspect that Keyes has a successful acting career ahead of him. All in all this was a cool little film. Although targeted toward the teen set, I'm above that age group and enjoyed it quite a bit. Should the Cartoon Network decide to make a sequel, I'll buy that too, so long as Kelley and especially Keyes are brought back.
It's an all-new movie based on the cool series "Ben 10 Alien Force" called "Ben 10 Alien Swarm".In this movie Ben (Ryan Kelley) meets an old friend of his that needs his help. However, Gwen, Kevin, and even Grandpa Max don't trust her. But Ben, along with his new and improved Omnitrix, will prevail once he saves humanity from imminent destruction from another planet. This is a pretty cool movie next to "Ben 10: Race Against Time". This DVD has a music video by There for Tomorrow and some behind-the-scenes features, too !So get this movie if you like the Alien Force spin-off to Ben 10. And look for more new episodes on Cartoon Network.
This review is from: Ben 10 Alien Swarm (DVD) My son wanted this for Christmas and I couldn't find it in stores. It arrived very quickly.
This is terrible it doesn't go along with the series Bent ten(alienforce) at all. The characters don't act anything like the counter partsfrom the show. it doesn't follow anything similar to the show, forexample Gwen is shown punching a bad guy at the end and shakes her handin pain which is completely different from Gwen from Ben ten who is avery good martial artist. the fighting was terrible they hit like 5guys then walk away when there was well over 100 people. in overallthis movie sucks. don't bother watching. You'll have more fun having aBen Ten marathon then watching this not worth the 90 minutes of lifetaken by the movie.
