We have taken some photos of "Beauty and the Beast (1991 disney)". They represent actual movie quality.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast arrived at a time when the world needed a change. This change came about when the world needed to remember the innocence of love. Providing a positive message to children of all ages, Beauty and the Beast has become a reminder that we all need to love one another regardless of our differences. The voices of the characters are memorable with perfect accents and well-sung songs. They added much humor and aided in setting the tone of the film. The graphics are excellent for the time it was created and the color schemes are prolific. Overall, Beauty and the Beast is a classic and is a must-see for every family.

The Platinum Edition DVD release of Beauty and the Beast is wonderful! It includes not 2 but 3 versions of the movie! And of course, it has wonderful features! The Disney version of this fairy tale has always enchanted me. It's not one of those "let's copy the story word by word" kind of thing. You realise that Disney put a big effort in this release! You go disney!
This is the best animated film EVER! You'll never find a film so engaging and funny. Brilliant animations. This film is definitely a masterpiece, 5 stars....
I'm not the person who always watches kids movies but I've saw a lot. I thought that Beauty and the Beast was a great story with heart warming love. It was based on a story and they made it a lot different and a lot better. i thought the dark seens were fun and the love story was heart warming as I say again. I totally give it five stars. I recommend this to anyone who has saw any Disney movie and liked it.
No other Disney movie in my oppinion, except for some of the classics fromfifty years ago can compare to Beauty and the Beast. Disney hasn't madeanygood movies really in the past fifteen years except this. I recommend thismovie to anyone who likes Disey, Musicals, or movies at all. It is a trueclassic!!!!!!!!!!
Belle (voice by Paige O'Hara) is a strong willed girl, who just can't settle into the simple life of farming and childrearing, so beloved by those around her, particularly the handsome but arrogant Gaston (Richard White), who wants Belle to be his subjected and submissive wife. But when Belle falls into the hands of a Beast that lives in an enchanted castle (Robby Benson), she finds more adventure than she could have imagined. The Beast is gruff and short-tempered, and yet, there is something more...I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Beauty and the Beast Platinum Edition, and boy am I happy! This DVD set contains no less than three version of the movie: the original theatrical release edition; the Work-In-Progress edition (shown at the 1991 New York Film Festival); and (my favorite) the Special Edition, which includes an all-new musical sequence called "Human Again." They worked this last piece in so well that when watching it I almost believed that it was part of the original movie! The movie itself is very well done, with an exciting story, wonderful music, and great animation. This is one of Disney's greatest movies! And, that's not all of the extras! This DVD set has a Making Of (hosted by Celine Dion!), two music videos, two (!) games, various behind-the-scenes extras, and so much more! This is a great DVD set!OK, this review has a lot of exclamation marks, but that is because I am so excited about this DVD set. This is a magnificent movie, turned into an outstanding DVD. I cannot recommend this item enough. BUY IT!
The only Disney movie ever to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, and it shows. There's something elusive that seperates this apart from the rest, maybe it's the perefectly developed characters, or the songs, but it's probably becuase this is still the only Disney film ever to teach you anything to live your life by; that true beauty lies within. The storytelling flows so seamlessly, and the humour is universal, unlike the obnoxious comedy of Hercules and the Eperor's New Groove. I'll admit as a child films like Dumbo and Sleeping Beauty (yes, even the extremely over-rated Bambi) left no effect on me, but from the moement the amazingly 3D castle pokes out from behind the trees to the beautiful stained glass window eneding, this movie captures your immagination and doesen't let go.Timeless. Truly, Disney's greatest acchievment.
Beauty and the Beast is, in my opinion, the best Disney movie of the past 15 years. It harkens back to days of Snow White, Fantasia, and Pinocchio in its charming story and its timeless morals. As for the songs, the Menken-Ashman team's masterpiece contains the very best of Disney songs in all of its history, including "Belle" and, of course, the title song. And now with this glorious 2-DVD set we can truly appreciate this film. There are tons of extras! If you enjoy Beauty and the Beast, you should definitely buy this.
As Mrs Potts rightly sings- "Tale as old as time", the story of 'Beautyand the Beast' lives on forever and ever. Never, ever in my life, in myopinion, have I ever seen a film with such complex themes, with such amessage to keep the audience thinking and such depth to its story. Ofcourse and rightly Disney has presented this film beautifully andpoetically, so all the audience, who have seen the film from old toyoung, will understand the message and directed by Gary Trousdale, heshows this amazingly. When a selfish prince is turned into a he is hideous beast by abeautiful enchantress, disguised as a beggar women, he is forced to beconfined to his castle, along with his faithful servants, who have beenturned into common house-hold objects. The only thing with him is asingle rose, which will bloom until his twenty first birthday. Untilthen, if he doesn't find true love, then he is doomed to remain a beastforever. However, there is little hope, when a lovely young womancomes, looking for her father, who is kept hostage in the castle sheseems to be the solution and the one to break the dreaded curse. "Forwho could ever love a beast?" Disney really delivers the message ofnever judging anyone, simply in this fairy tale, in which everyone cankeep in their hearts. With characters with such depth, 'Beauty and theBeast' never fails to entice the audience, with the theme of love, finding what really matters and looking deep to what really matters. With the best actors, providing the voice for the characters includingPaige O'Hara (Belle), Robby Benson (The Beast), Richard White (Gaston,Jerry Orbach (Lumiere), David Ogden Stiers (Cogsworth), Angela Lansbury(Mrs. Potts), Bradley Pierce (Chip), Rex Everhart (Maurice). With MrsPotts singing the legendary title song, we see the Beast becoming theman that he has hidden all those years.Overall, I cannot stress how much this film touches everyone's hearts.A must see to see... again and again and again!
I love the movie simply because of the exceptionally good visual and music. Lyric from Tim Rice is the brightest jewel on the crown. Belle is so lovely chasing after her dream with great expectation. Watching the Beast turning from despair to such a charming prince by the power of love is so warm.
by Ashley Chewning. The movie The Beauty and The Beast is a heart-warming production by theDisney family. The movie was about Belle (Paige 0' Hara) who was tryingto make a beast (Robby Benson) very lovable for him to change back withhis friends: Lumiere (Jerry Orbach), Mrs. Potts (Angela Lansburg), Chip(Bradely Pierce), Cogsworth (David Ogden Stiers, who is also thenarrator for the movie), Wardrobe (Jo Anne Worley), Bergman or Babette(Mary Kay), and the stove (Brian Cummings). If the beast and hisfriends don't change back before the last rose petal falls, then theywould stay like that forever.I thought that The Beauty and The Beast was a very good movie. Ithought it was dramatic because there was a lot of fire that threatenedthe Beast and other people. There were many scenes that made the movieaction-packed. For an example, at the end of the movie Gaston (RichardWhite) and the beast fought with each other at the top of the castle. Ithought that was a cool thing to watch. The romantic part was the best part out of the whole movie. It allstarted at the dance in the middle of the ballroom floor. The song cameon and they were dancing and having fun. Then it went to near the endof the movie when the Beast and his friends turn back to normal, andBelle and the Beast live happily ever after.I think that this movie would be good to watch with a family member orwith your best friends.
this movie is very wonderful, funny, and perfectI like this movie so muchit's one of my favourite moviethis movie has good story
Sure. I like other animated movies too. But this one isDIFFERENT.This movie is very good! Not just good as in "good-for an animated movie."I mean good as in, this movie received an Oscar nomination for BestPicture!Great animation and music just add to the story. Beauty is not skin deepand love can see beneath exteriors. THAT is the message this movie tells, and its told with an extra magic that only Disney can bring.
Beauty and the Beast was the last great Disney film. True, Aladdin was good, and some of the new computer-animated ones have been cute, but nothing has been affecting as the touching tale of Belle and the beast who she falls in love with. The music is enchanting, the voices are enchanting, and the film reminds one of the long-ago days of going to see Disney movies at the one-screen theater. Buy this platinum edition for a lasting treatment of this film, and what a glorious DVD it is.
THIS MOVIE ROCKS THE PLANET. I COULD WATCH THIS MOVIE 60 TIMES AND NOT GET SICK OF IT. ITS A PERFECT MOVIE AND ALWAYS WILL BE PERFECT. IT ROCKS
One of Disney's best films ever made. Not only is the story great, but the visuals, direction and the SCORE is AMAZING...you will love to love this movie.
I had recently re-watched this excellent film and I find it even moreremarkable now than when I had seen it years ago. Everything about thefilm from the voice acting to the character design, to the productiondesign and animation and so on is all unsurpassed. But the music, thatwonderful music - the songs and the orchestral pieces - is absolutelypure genius. The work done by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman isso effective that when Belle and the Beast started dancing with AngelaLansbury singing 'Beauty and the Beast', yours truly, a 29 year old manwho probably has a lot in common with Gaston ('cept I cook my eggs),started to choke back the emotion without great success. And I nevercry at movies*. But this is not a movie or a cartoon or a Disneymerchandising gimmick. Beauty and the Beast is true art. It is anemotionally compelling, spiritually uplifting, and thoroughly joyousexploration of the human condition. I think it is one of greatestmotion pictures ever made.*The end of Millennium Actress by Satoshi Kon, another animated filmincidentally, was the only movie that ever had me literally bawlinglike a little girl. I highly recommend seeing it.
Words fail me as I try to express my feelings about Beauty and theBeast, the best cartoon movie ever made! Praise is all that I can findfor it and anything that I or any fan writes about it simply cannot dojustice to this tour-de-force of top-class animation and elegantstory-telling.Beauty and the Beast marks one of the first and best uses of digitalanimation for the range of human emotions that it captures. Even today, there is no sequence as memorable as the ballroom sequence where Belleand the Beast dance to the strains of the title tune. Speaking oftunes, no mention of this movie's artistic merits is ever completewithout a mention of the songs. The lyrics written by Alan Menken andHoward Ashman are absolutely poetic (Tale as old as time/Song as old asrhyme) and the voicing of the songs by Angela Lansbury, Celine Dion,Peabo Bryson and others is simply incredible! The two best songsequences in the movie are 'Be My Guest' and 'Tale as old as time'. The script is excellent taking the old but fairly well-known fable anddeveloping it into something modern yet touching and poignant. The newinnovations of the scriptwriters to the original story such as puttinga feminist touch on Belle, the development of the relationship betweenBelle and the Beast, the talking cutlery are fully fleshed out and havebeen integrated into the pace, moving the story forward and neverslowing it down. The characters are sharply developed. Belle is a vibrant bookish girlwho lives in a world of fairy tales, yet dearly loves her wacky butlikable inventor father. Also it is worth mentioning that she is shownto have an individualistic bent of mind who sees the handsome butshallow Gaston for what he is and spurns his advances. She has thespunk to wear the type of clothes and act the way she wants unlike theother dumb village girls. At first she fears the Beast, but when hesaves her she appreciates him and finds the prince within the Beast. She is intelligent, compassionate and has a mind of her own. She's alsovery outspoken and courageous as is evidenced by her opting to take herfather's place in the Beast's castle and in her tirade of reasonagainst the Beast when he rebukes her for putting herself into dangerby trying to run away from the castle. With her strong personality, shemakes a terrific role model for young girls everywhere. Long beforeTitanic, this was the first successful attempt at female empowerment. The Beast is a fierce ape-like creature whose short temper stems fromhis frustration at being unable to find true love. Gaston thenarcissistic village champion who thinks that brawns are more importantthan brains is ridiculed by the movie and eventually exposed as itsvillain. Even minor supporting characters such as the clock, the lampand the teapot are fleshed out and will enchant both kids and adultsalike.I actually started crying during the movie's finale when the Beast diesafter the struggle with Gaston and my sorrow was turned into joy whenthe curse is broken and the Beast gets transformed into a handsomeprince. The transformation effects are simply mind-blowing (for acartoon movie!).Some eighteen years after its release this movie only gets better withtime. Cynics who normally dismiss cartoons and G-rated fare should seethis movie and experience a change of heart. If this movie does notmove them, then they should go admit themselves into a morgue! My Grade:A+!
While loving Disney may seem a bit, childish for a high school teen, Iwould like to say this movie just pushes my lack of care even more. The narrator that starts the movie does a wonderful job of describingthe beginning, which cuts right into a song which Belle sings. Not onlyis the music beautiful, but the characters are creative and full ofpersonality. What really makes this movie stand out from others is thevoice acting, brilliant! Angela Lansbury, Page O'Hara, Robby Benson,Jerry Orbach, and many more. The reason I think this movie is so great, is the fact that the story, music, colors, characters, and voice acting blend so well, it is hardto find fault with this movie. This is THE BEST ANIMATED MOVIE TO DATE!
