MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME

I don't care how many times I see this movie. I willlove it just as much every time. It will make you laughand shed (quite) a few tears.I know each scene , play-by-play, word-for-word.And deep down ....****SPOILER********SPOILER****I always hope during the film that Hillary doesn't die.Though inevitably she does. This film will always be my favorite. WATCH IT! OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

The most amazing story of purest friendship!

I first saw this film when I was 12 years old, now I am 18 and it stillmakes me cry everytime I see it. I think its an amazing story of truefriendship and of how there is always that one special person you willfindand count on all you life - no matter what you go through. It shows youthat yes, friends do hurt each other but it's all part of making thatfriendship bond even tighter. So much so that when you have a situationlike their's, you know that no matter what happens in their hearts theywilleach live on. It's a beautiful film that everyone shouldsee.

Wonderful story of the rich fabric of friendship.Bette is brilliant--Barbara Hershey statuesque (in the Oscar style!) Enjoy this film every time you can--it is a timeless treasure.

realistic touching movie

I must say, that this movie is incredible. it is only the fifth time iwatched it that i didn't cry in the end. for me, bette midler is nothingelse but CC blum. the movie shows us one of the biggest enemies of truefriendships: jealousy. and it also shows that once you are honest and talkabout things, you can make it through. it is an amazing touching movie,thatis so sad from so many aspects. i think the cardiological disease issymbolic to a broken heart. I really recommend everyone to see this movieand bawl their eyes out. i really don't know how anyone can rate thismovie0. TAKE IT !!!

This movie is all about friendship

This movie made me laugh and it made me cry!! That's kind of how I picture myself 10 years from now!! I think that everybody should see this movie, especially females.

I liked "Beaches," but Midler's "Stella" is better

I had a good time with Beaches, though some of the humor is truly cornball, including the pink rabbitsuit and the fainting in the hospital.For my money, Bette Midler does a much better acting job in "Stella," which came two or three years afterBeaches, and which lets Midler play a broader range of emotions. It's funnier and sadder. Midler shouldhave had a nomination for "Stella."

Acceptible - Should be given a chance

I first watched this when it was released in theatre. There were lots of tears in the theatre and lots of people were deeply involved. This is drama at its best.Good for a good cry. If you feel like one.Should be given a chance.Oh, and Bette does some of her best songs ever on this movie.

Uplifting and Emotional, But A Whole Lot of Fun!

I loved Beaches so much! I watched the movie on the WE network, but it was still good enough for me to pick up the DVD. The movie remind me so much of friendship with my best friend, that I love so dearly. I don't know how I would go on if I lost my friend to a terminal illness, cause we're so much like sisters. The movie just so heartfelt and tender hopefully every friend of a friend will get this movie.

Ok, but...

Abraham Lincoln's law partner once wanted to read some maudlin poetry to Abe. Once he was done, Lincoln said "The people who like this sort of thing will find it the sort of thing they like."Beaches is fine. It is obviously a chick flick. Bette Midler has some real opportunities to sing. The acting is good. The problem is that the plot is so predictable.

Like a Photo Album

This movie is like a Photo Album of my relationship with my very closefriend Jessica Uppal. We have known each other our whole lives andthough we've had our ups and downs I will always love her. We've criedtogether and laughed together just like these characters. I canremember us as little girls watching this movie and knowing we weregoing to grow up and be like C.C. (me) and Hilary (Jessica).Coincedently, Jessica went off to Law school and I wanted to be asinger/writer, so it was really a case of art imitating life.So I hope you all will cherish those few people in your life who reallystand the test of time and Don't ever let them slip away. NO MATTERWHAT. Lovers come and go, but one thing I know is when I take my lastbreath I want to hold Jessica's hand and tell her "See you Soon"

One of the saddest movies i've seen

Beaches has to be one of the saddest movies i've seen. It's a verytouchingmovie about friendship. Very fine performances by Bette Midler andBarbaraHershey.This movie is a cute little story, that I love watching. It's veryenjoyable, but don't forget the tissues.If you haven't yet seen this, you should. Especially if you like BetteMidler and her music. I loved Beaches. Watch it today if you feel likewatching a cute and moving drama.

For all people who have life time long friendships, everlasting bonds and wonderful friends, this movie is a total must.Bette Midler, as always is fantastic both singing and acting.Recommended as an awesome 'chic flic'.

great movie

i love this movie because it has bette midler in it. also i love the emotion of the movie, it is great to she how the friendship developes in the movie. the 2 women portrayed in the movie build a ture friendship and it show how friends should really be but you better grab a box of kleenex

A tearjerker that makes you laugh too!

I just recently viewed this movie again. I think it is one of the best movies about women friendships. It is funny, sad, and I think that both midler and hershey are great at their roles they play. the soundtrack is also great. For those of you who enjoy Bette Midler's singing, you will enjoy this! When i wasn't crying, i was laughing. and vice versa. it tugs at the heartstrings alot and always makes me cry every time i watch it, but it is such a good story, i can't resist!

This movie is sensational, Bette Midler's performance is phonomenal. I was so touched by this movie, I totally understood. I have discovered a lot about life since this movie. Simply the best!

this movie is my all time favorite movie of all time. From thebeginning to the end it is almost like real life events and I canrelate to the movie because i myself have been through similar issues.I cry each and every time i watch it. I love the realness of the movieand wish there would have been a part two. We look at life in differentways as humans, but in all reality each of us has personally or evenknow somebody with a life threatening illness. How does one cope? Howdo we deal with illness and death? This movie is a great example ofreal life and how people grow closes and come together even though lifehas its downs. this movie will always be dear to my heart and i wouldrecommend it to anyone even if it is over 20 years old

A wonderful movie

I first watched this movie when I was 8 years old and I still think this movie is the best movie yet. A heartbreaking movie of friendship that only comes once in a lifetime. Through everything bad or good they help each other pull through and never let each other down.It is a realistic story with none of the soppy endings that often are the cases with friendship themed movies.

A thrilling endeavor of two lives who become apart and close

I love Bette Midler and I love this movie. It is beautifully written and produced. The story of a wealthy woman and a poor woman who meet on a beach in atlantic city as young children. Each acts as a shoulder for one another through the good times and the bad. They fight and laugh and love the whole time. Until one day, the wealthy woman learns about cancer which she has and tells her friend. Watch as the two are there till the end as friends.
