i really do not care what anybody says about this show it ishilarious.if you would've asked me about 2 months ago i would have saidthat Family Guy was my favorite show but lately Archer has just blownme away with how funny and consistent it is. I guarantee that anybodywho watches this show will be laughing for at least every 30 seconds.even the bad jokes are funny, such as "the tactleneck". If you havegotten tired of shows such as Family Guy, American Dad, or The Simpsons(although I highly doubt that this is the reason that anybody wouldstart watching the show), if You need a new show to watch or if youjust get bored and need something to do, watch Archer

Most of the reviews here are good but seem to be from fans of animatedshows (Family Guy, Southpark etc). I'm not. But this show is thefreshest, funniest and near (past?) the knuckle show i've seen inyears. Sexist and sexy, racist and racey, sizist and er well you know,ageist (pretty much every "ist" going) but gets away with it due to thequality of the writing and delivery and i guess because is animated.I've never felt sexual feelings for a cartoon character before(excluding Smurfette obviously) but Lana (Aisha Tyler) does it for meevery time. It IS literally LOL funny. And when was the last time youcould say that about a show animated or live action?Do yourself a favour. By the DVD now. Then buy copies of the DVD forall your friends. Because if you don't and they discover Archer laterwhen it becomes a worldwide phenomenon and that you knew about it andyou didn't tell them....well they will KICK YOUR ASS! and get *TOTALLYNINJA!!!* Archer catch phrases....

Greatest new show on T.V.

This show has great characters and voice actors. The lines are fast andclever and stunning how much is compressed into one episode. I amcompletely excited for Season 3 to continue and will watch every singleone. I love the main character's voice and the character himself. Hemanages to be funny, blunt, and a jerk, but still likable in the end.The show is not for people who are offended easily, but that's a goodthing as it makes the level of humor so funny and complex. Thereferences to old movies, celebrities, and current media is just plaingenius and the show has some of the best lines I've heard. It managesto balance comedy with action and good taste perfectly and the resultis a hilarious with stunning animations, great actors and plenty oflaughs. If anyone is looking for a new comedy, Archer will definitelymake you laugh.

Not good

Pick a random episode of Archer. Listen to the characters speak. Nowlook for a pause longer than 2 seconds. You probably won't find one.The cascade of overlapping, artificial and rarely funny phrases getsreally annoying after a while and for me personally it's exhausting.Archer is the type of "workplace comedy" that we've seen too manytimes, only adapted to different settings (lol, spies), so don't lookfor anything terribly original either. If you're looking for somethingin a spy/adventure environment, but done well, watch the VentureBrothers - a funny and original show... Archer is just annoying.The characters don't have any depth to them and all the major plotpoints come in when someone sleeps with someone else (lol, sex). Fornow at least, who knows, maybe the show will change. But after season1, I'm out.

Ultimate Television Entertainment!

This show is the best thing that's happened to modern day TV. It isanimated, yet hits serious topics right at the spot. It makes it looklike a kid's show, but definitely with adult situations, which isgreat. The characters are light and well situated. The dialog isoutrageously funny and naughty, containing serious amounts of irony andmasked profanities. The plot of the show revolves around a secretagency (ISIS) and the relations between the people working there. Themain character is the confident, arrogant and self-involved, yet notthat adequate secret agent Sterling archer - a handsome hedonist man,that never cares about anyone but himself. Hilarious. 10/10

My new favorite show

This is definitely my new favorite show. Absolutely genius, I would saythis is the best show on TV right now. Of course, the content is rightup my alley. I love Venture Bros. and other quirky Adult Swim shows,and of course various other animated shows with an adult targetaudience, such as Family Guy, South Park, Futurama, and the like. Ofcourse, ARCHER is not on Adult Swim, but obviously it would fit rightin. Fow now it is on TNT, which is great. I like the idea that anetwork other than FOX is getting into the this genre. Maybe we willsee more shows like this pop up in the ratings battle.H. John Benjamin is brilliant, needless to say. I laugh my self sillyevery time I watch this show, and it is hard for me to say whichepisode is my favorite. I think, right now, I like SKYTANIC the most,although DIVERSITY HIRE was absolutely hysterical. I have to saySKYTANIC stands out particularly because of the end sequence whenArcher and Lana are trying to disarm the bomb, and they have thatgenius dialog with the technical support team. I would almost describeit as being inspired by the old Abbot and Costello routine "Who's onFirst?" For those of you who have seen the episode, I am sure you knowwhat I am talking about it. For those of you who haven't seen thisparticular episode, I say, check it out, set your DVR, and you will seewhat I mean and probably pee your pants. For those of you that have notseen this show at all, I say: What are you? Some kind of idiot? Do youlive under a rock? Watch the show already! Its super funny.

interesting to say at the least.

wow, I had to add more words in order to submit my review to make it 10lines of text, Archer (the main character) would just shag the personin charge of these rules and make them forget about them... Anyways,read on because it's right to the point :)The series is drawn like a bad He-man cartoon, so obviously theanimation style isn't why it's so high on ratings. It's a no holdsbarred kind of cartoon, the humour is something that you wouldn'texpect to see on TV. Being a bartender, our sense of humour is crookedto say at the least, so to me this series offers very little, but Ireally do understand people loving the shock effect of having cartooncharacters just tearing into subjects that are politically incorrect,in so many ways! But besides the "rattling" effect, this series israther boring.

hilarious! i haven't met someone who hasn't agreed

finally a funny entertaining show! lately it seems the other short 30min comedy shows have become lazy and stale. and with south park notstarting for another month i was very happy to find this show downright hilarious from start to finish. sure its simple. but thecharacters are so funny and its pretty well written.the humor comes quickly and many times unnoticed. i have watched everyepisode at least twice. i like the style of animation and the voiceacting is well done. they have also had some big actors show up asvoices of minor roles. Thomas Lennon showed up as a gay guy (bigsurprise).Anyway, everyone should at least watch the first five episodes. 100minutes of enjoyable chaos.

Archer is magically raunchy

In only 22 minutes, Archer gets away with referencing dirty sex everyscene, showing off the backside of a woman with the sting of a pingpong paddle still red, and being a very funny, witty new show! It getsaway with them because it is funny and also happens to be animated. Theanimation really works with the style of the show.Who said comedy is best when it's offending at least one body ofpeople? There's something for everyone to love in this show andprobably something for everyone to hate in this show. The first episodeI saw last night was very promising. I haven't seen a quirkier show ina long time. It really moves to the beat of it's own drum. The pace isvery fast and what struck me was, besides the absurd situations andhilarious dialog, the basic plot line has actually been very coherentand interesting.Don't miss this show. It's got a lot going for it.

Great show

If you're looking for intelligent, intellectual viewing try the historychannel. This show is not for you. But I have to say it's been a longtime since I've actually laughed out loud viewing a television show. Infact I don't watch television because of the lack of ethnicrepresentation and the misrepresentation. But this show is obviouslynot meant to be sophisticated viewing. Even the off color racial andinterracial jokes are not racist or disrespectful but in fact funny andI'm a black woman. The rest of the garbage on television NEEDS to becancelled until they get it right.The only thing wrong I find is the delivery of the lines. Sometimes thelines are delivered too fast with strange inflictions and hard tounderstand. That's why I gave it 9 out of 10. Great show. It's abouttime.

Wow! Just ... Wow!

Having just seen the special sneak preview of 'ARCHER' on the FXnetwork, I have to say that this was possibly the most entertaining,most ribald, most disturbing and just plain hysterical thirty minutesof television I have ever seen. Think 'Venture Brothers' meets JamesBond meets a truck load of self-obsessed heroine addicts and you'llbegin to get an idea of what awaits us all in January when this seriescomes to the masses in prime time. Fans of H. Jon Benjamin will lovehim as he brings his own dead pan cadence to Sterling Archer, acharacter that is arguably the most narcissistic is television history.The writing is quick and sharp, the animation is stylized and hip andthe laughs come faster than you can catch them.In short, watch for this amazing show to come to your TV in January andprepare to be amazed. Seriously, watch this show!

Looking forward to season 2

I like this show, it's one of my favorites from last season and I'mlooking forward to Season 2. As far as animated shows go, it's prettymuch the only one I watch regularly. Family Guy is OK, I'm bored withthe Simpsons, can't stand South Park, and really haven't watched thatmuch animation since I was kid watching Space Ghost and the Herculoids.(Loved those rhinos that shot the pellets!) The guy who does the voiceof Sterling is perfect. The adult-themed comedy is basic, sophomoric,but that's what makes it funny. I guess if you're not intellectuallychallenged as some people assert then this show may not be for you. So,don't watch it. I'd rather miss a Mensa society meeting than miss anepisode of Archer. It's a lot more fun, and a lot less pretentious.

Excellent show

I was a fan of the hit and miss show Sealab and later on Frisky Dingowhich was less hit and miss and quite entertaining. If you like rankshows. I am also a fan of Venture Bros and I don't see how you cantdraw the similarities between the two. I am also happy to see JonBenjamin get some steady voice work and he was great in Dr Katz andHome Movies. I would recommend it to anyone to watch the first episodebefore making your judgment. This is the best pilot I have seen in awhile and usually their pretty lame even on shows I think have promise.The show involves a super spy whose boss happens to be his mother. Hehas an ex lover as a fellow spy that is currently dating some guy inaccounting. You have a blabby HR lady and some other people thrown intothe mix like a secretary who is in love with Archer. The situations andunder the breath comments are laugh out loud to me and my friends. Ican't wait for more.

Archer proves you can be completely disgusting and still be hilarious

Archer is quite possibly my new favorite show. This comes from thecreator of Frisky Dingo, the show that took a similar comedic aim atsuperheroes. Archer has some of the best character flaws on television.Sterling Archer is the womanizing main character who despite hisaloofness and major flaws is one of ISIS best agents. Lana Kane playshis mocha ex lover who loves inter-racial porn and turtleneck skirts.Carol or cheryl or crystal, whatever her name is this week, is the sexcrazed secretary who like to be choked in bed. Cyril is the comptrollerwho is somehow sleeping with Lana while trying to impress her more thanArcher. Malory is Archer's mother/leader of ISIS. Her dog duchessspawned archer's codename and her torid love affairs with other spiesall over the world get in the way of ISIS being the number 1 spyorganization. And Pam is the chubby outspoken HR rep who is alwayslooking for some way to appreciated while also insulting Carol forbeing Carol. The characters in the show mix so well together that eachepisode has the ability to be rewatched numerous times. Watch Archer onFX and see for yourself

Archer is the best animated comedy since South Park, 1st season = awesome

Max Prodanov and barry-j-kelly don't know what funny is. Archer, in myhumble opinion, is one of the funniest shows to hit TV, ever. However,this humor isn't for everyone, like Max and Barry whom both lack anysense of wit, and are probably both wrinkly old farts with a completelack of ability to take this show in its context. Archer is the MountOlympus of witty, vulgar, and walk-the-line comedy. If you like SouthPark, you will love this show (at least the 1st season, the 2nd isgreat but pales in comparison to the 1st). The character Archer,codenamed Duchess, is a confused adult in a child's body. Hisdysfunction is a pure result of his overly wealthy and scandalousmother's own problems in which she passed to her son. Lacking his ownsense of security and individuality, Archer's character reflects hisinsecurities in combination with his good looks and physical abilitiesto become one of the funniest animated characters on television(Possibly 2nd only to Cartman).

great. very funny.

if you don't like this show, then you have no sense of humor or youtake your movies and TV shows far too seriously. this is a very funnyand in your face comedy. lots of laughs, stupid jokes, just impossiblesituations. all of this creates an out of this world event. the premiseif just a ridiculous secret agency that never gets the right thingsdone. Archer is just a high school jock that never grew up. i showedthis show to a few friends who'd never heard of it and we continued torewind just to hear the jokes because they were just too funny. thesejokes take it right to the edge without ever stepping over the line.its a must see for adults who still love their teenager side.

What an absolute treat.

This show caught me off guard. I dismissed it without giving it achance at first, but then went ahead and watched it on demand. I amsure glad that I did. Archer is an over the top raunchy fest based onthe doings of a supposed spy firm. You have Sterling, an insecure guywho thinks very little, does very many, and says just enough to keep uslaughing...mainly because he is so stupid. You have Malory, an unhappyboss who loves an enemy, hates being Sterling's mom at times, and hasshown more than once to be off her rocker. You then have Lana(L-a-n-a),Sterling's Ex who isn't over Sterling. She is also a no nonsense, asswhipping babe. This show nails it. I highly recommend it.

really amazing! he's a playboy secret agent, with a drink problem andquite a few personal issues, a rather strange relationship with hismum, and generally seems like a bit of a jerk as well! really he's thetype of guy that you should hate like the bad guy in a movie, butinstead of everyone realising this he always seems to land on his feet!the show is also really smart in some of the dialogue is unbelievablygood! its also pretty to look at which makes a change from a lot ofcartoon comedies. watched the first season and cannot wait for the 3rd.i desperately want this show to keep going at the standard! the secret agent that makes James Bond like a Gay, sober, schoolboy!

I love this show!

After seeing some previews for it months ago I was curious. I had agood feeling about the show and was right, it's great! The ONLY thing Ido not like about this or any show is when they take the Lord's name invain. Saying G.D. and Jesus Christ, etc. I LOVE Aisha Tyler and thinkshe is so gorgeous.I used to love her on the E channel. :) You shouldwatch this show. OK, so I am done with the review but it will notaccept what I have already written unless I write a total of ten lines.So this is me filling in the other lines so that the first fivesentences (my real review)can be seen. Just one more sentence to go. Iwonder why they make you write ten lines before accepting your review.
