The whole gang are back and as close as ever. They decide to get even closer by spending the summer together at a beach house. They decide to hold the biggest party ever to be seen, even if the preparation doesnt always go to plan. Especially when Stifler, Finch and Jim become more close to each other than they ever want to be and when Jim mistakes super glue for lubricant.
AP 2 was okay i still think the first was better, but this one was okay.
Anyone who doesn't like comedy. Probably does not like this movie. Thismovie is drop dead funny. Seann William Scott might be one of the funniestpeople in the world. Stiffler truly cracks me up. My friends and I havebeenquoting his lines for the last two years. The fact that he was a biggercharacter in the second one was outstanding. The first one was funny butonly really the physical humor. In the second one all of Stiffler'sdialoguehad me rolling and Jim was way more funny in this one also. I hope thethirdone includes Stiffer a lot i'm glad they dumped the rest of the crappyactors especially Klein who did nothing funny at all in the first two.American Pie 3 or American Wedding should be promising.
Taking place a year after the first film, American Pie 2, in some wayssurpasses and in other ways fails to live up to the original. While all theoriginal characters return, it seems that most of the female cast was giventhe short shrift. Jessica (Lyonne), Vicky (Reid), Nadia (Elizabeth) andHeather (Suvari) are basically given extended cameos. The only real femalelead in this movie is reserved for Michelle (Hanigan) whose role has beenincredibly expanded from what it was in the first film. THe plot revolvesaround the guys moving into a beach house for the summer to cement theirfriendship and have the perfect summer. Jim (Biggs) of course goes througha number of sexually embarrasing situations. However, the real comicstandout in this movie is Stifler (Scott), he lives up every scene he is in,and makes the movie perk up during its slow periods. Overall, a fairly goodsequel to the first film.
This movie is so sophomoric, you'd swear the characters were in high school - better yet, middle school. They have not advanced intellectually at ALL! This has got to be one of the very worst of sequels, in the same league as that horrendous Scary Movie 2. The first American Pie is a classic of sorts. It seems to work, despite a plot that leans toward the typical teen flick I-want-to-lose-my-virginity scenario that we've seen how many zillions of times? How many movies are they going to make about teenage promiscuity, especially when you consider the rise in adolescent AIDS and other sexually tansmitted diseases??? The people that make this kind of garbage, thinking that it's commercial should be more responsible. These movies mention and show condoms, but not AIDS, syphillis, etc. It's just the sex--and, what about pregnancies? Sex is not simply meant for kicks. I could go on, and on why I hate this kind of junk. This stuff isn't funny -- you laugh at it, not with it -- it's simply crude, crass and obnoxious. This glorification of irresponsible behavior is dangerous. But that's probably giving the movie too much credit. This pie was made with worm-eaten rotten apples. But, I'm sure the fans of the first film will see it. How could you not? The first one, as I pointed out, was surprisingly well done. But, please, keep this trash far away from children!!!
Boy, talk about a lousy movie. Bad script, bad direction, just bad badbad.I don't think I laughed more than twice during the entire thing. (Ifyou're a teenager or in your early 20s, I'm sure you'll find this messfairly amusing.) The first "American Pie" was clever, fun and quitefunny. But this sequel isn't worth the DVD it was printed on. A BIG thumbsdown.
The prequel to this movie was known for being quite rude and containinglots of adult humour. This movie is no different in that department, butalso appears to be a more serious movie than the first.Instead of focusing completely on sex, like the first movie, lovebecomesa more important issue to the main characters. This isn't the onlyseriousissue dealt with in the film and this does not detract from the humour ofthe film. The serious issues create a more well-rounded film than thefirst, not only making the audience laugh, but creating a strongerconnection with the characters in it, and who knows, maybe the viewerswilllearn something from it....aside from not keeping super glue on the nightstand.By the end of the film, it is easy to develop a connection with the maincharacters (aside from Stiffler), which makes the ending so much betterthanthe first. The writing was well done in this movie, however like most movies ofthissort, there is nothing overly spectacular about the other film areas. Itreally isn't necessary to have amazing cinematography or sound effects inamovie of this type, but the cinematography was well rounded and the soundeffects sometimes had you squirming in your seat (because they were soeffective). Most sequals are never as good as the original, but this one is just asgood or better, in my own opinion.
I hate sequels, i hate them, i think they ruin the impact of the firstmovie, and just drag on, but American Pie 2 was a huge exception. I have never seen a sequel equal or even surpass the original. Inever stopped laughing. this movie was incredible, defintly awinner. the only cast that wasnt back was blink 182(they were theband in the first one with the monkey) i was glad to hear theresong start the film but kinda dissapointed they werent in it, otherthen that it was amazing, i give it 10/10
Ever wonder why women and gays seem to be treated less equally? Well you can thank movies like this one that help contribute to that problem. This movie helps the overrated view of lesbians even more. Lesbians are normal people like everyone else, but it seems like society has programmed men to think it is one of the definitions of "sexy." Lesbians have not become just normal people, but this huge sex symbol. Is this what the gay community wants, for lesbians to be continously exploited? They promote just that in this movie, with the stereotypical view of lesbians today... This not only hurts normal, every-day lesbian women, but also heterosexual women, because this type of stereotpical view helps strengthen sexism in today's culture. And, ironically (or maybe not) gay men are treated as the exact opposite. The tone in the movie suggests that while the lesbians are extremely sexy and perfectly acceptable, that the idea of two gay men is disgusting and used for humor only... This movie is EXACTLY how gay society is portrayed by the media. Lesbians sexy and acceptable, gay men disgusting and funny. I KNOW that the whole movie isn't about gay and lesbians, I'm just pointing out a certain aspect of the movie that annoys me to death because the same concept is shoved in my face every day by the media. Unlike the first "American Pie," this movie did not have an oune of intelligence. I am definitely not a fan of the original, but the levels they sunk to in this movie to outdo the first were [weak], sick, and equaled out to a lot less enjoyable and fun to watch as the original movie. Like someone else said, this was "re-heated pie." This was definitely not an improvement. The only enjoyable cast member was Eugene Levy, and as much as I'm a fan of his, it's hard to be in a movie like this. To close things up, I am not trying to be overanalytical (although I might be too late), but I am just pointing out the obvious. Why does the media portray lesbian women as sexy? Because lesbians make them money. Why does the media portray gay men as disgusting and funny? Because gay jokes sell. I hope there are actually people out there that don't get sucked into this trap...
After watching it more than 60 times I still enjoy the movie as much Iwatch it the first time I watch it. My comment might be a little bias;after all I'm a big fan. After the first year in the Uni, the gangs reunite for the Spring BreakParty near the lake where they lend a love palace for their wild party. This is considering being one of the best by most people since it ismore sophisticated kind of way (may be because it got the least ofdirty stuff of the three). But to me it is as good but not better thanthe first. It is a great fun to watch this, and proudly to say that itis still up to its standard.Reason To Watch: · It is American Pie sequel (so it funny by nature), ·Still got all the gangs member, · Great SoundtrackReason Not To: · NoneRating: 9/10 (Grade: A+)
I'm not a big fan of sequels. It's usually a frantic attempt of hollywood to squeeze more big bucks out of a successful first movie, and they usually fail miserably, especially where the story is concerned. American Pie 2 is no exception in regards to the story. It has a pretty flimsy plot, and seems to drag some of the gags on a little too long. However, AP2's gags are even funnier than the original movie! Which, to me, makes AP2 even more enjoyable than the original! After all, when I watch movies such as these, I don't really expect any great stories in them. I only look forward to the laughs, and AP2 delivers superbly! However, the biggest problem I had with this movie is with a few of the characters. To be precise, the character of Heather, portrayed by Mena Suvari. In the original, she was a main character in the story, and played it brilliantly. In AP2, she's reduced to barely a supporting character, and most of her lines are spoken through phone conversations with "Oz". And what did the producers do to her appearance? She was extremely cute in the original, but in this movie her appearance is less than appealing, and seems to get worse as the movie progresses. I know I'm being a bit picky here, but I had to give a reason why I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars, and this was the main reason. However, it certainly doesn't take away from the laughs in the movie. If you liked the first movie, you'll love this one. Jason Biggs is the perfect actor to play a guy in which bad and embarrassing things happen to. Eugene Levy as his father is just as funny in this movie as well. There will be an American Pie 3 (American Wedding), due for release in August 2003. I get a sinking feeling that they should've quit while they were ahead, as half the cast will not be in the 3rd movie. Without all the regular characters, any future sequels can't possibly equal the first 2 movies. But, I could be wrong - after all, I wasn't expecting a lot from AP2.Recommended to all American Pie fans.
The teenager films always have got a sequel and often this sequel is theworst that you see,but with this film things are changing because it has gota lot of gags who makes you a laugh and the roles are excellent in thisgenre. The only mistake is that American pie one is better than itssequel, the main thing is the originality,If you think,You can remember thesame gags in the fist one.SENTENCE FOR AMERICAN PIE 2:The best sequel in the teenager film world butIf you don't watch the first one,Watch it!
American Pie 1 is definitely worth checking out, it has the comedy, charm, and sleaziness that were once great in the 80's but were lost in the 90's. It's a high school film that could've been a little more serious, but it was serious enough, and definitely portrayed young high school boys the way most of them really are. Yes, they're horny and stupid sometimes, but also have feelings and are confused about love, and can be as lonely as anyone now matter what their "status" is. I definitely recommend it.American Pie 2 takes the same cast a year later once in college. This one isn't as good. Why? B/c it's completely full of college cliches and stereotypes. The actors acting abilites just seemed to worsen dramatically (the whole story with those 2 x-lovebirds coming back together as "friends" after a year was so ridiculously stupid and unrealistic it made me wanna vomit, not to mention how laughably horrible they acted it out), and the college experience as a whole was completely superficial. Granted there are a couple of funny parts during the film, they're mostly unnessecary goofy antics that are really the only things holding the movie up. Even though the first was pretty good, both films' depictions of the teenage obsession with sex went a little far sometimes, it becomes hard to believe. Ask any REAL highschooler, having sex at that age isn't as huge a deal as it is portrayed, and if it is a huge deal, it's because of movies like this. Buy the first, rent the second.
very funny just as good as the first
...what is a little bit surprising, since the sequels are in 90% worse thanoriginals.Anyway, these days you can hardly find a good comedy with some originaljokes in it, and luckily these movie includes some. One of the thingswelcomed in sequels is, that they don't try to change the original casting. The stars of part one are all in here although some of them became meanwhilequite a stars (Mena Souvari and partly Sean William Scott). What is also surprisingly is, that there are some quite hot scenes, which isquite rare, especially for puritan Hollywood, where sexy scenes are tabu. Ifonly there was an European version, whoa...Can this movie qualify as a classic? Sadly, NO, since the plot is tooshallow. But hey, who cares about that...The movie gives enough laughingscenes and that is all that counts in a light-weight comedy, which willsurely won the title of best comedy for 2001.Well deserved 8/10.
this movie was just like the first one...raunchy and tasteless and pathetic. the first one had its moments of great humor but this one was a remake with more dumb sub plots.I watched the movie and realized these were absolutley perfect looking teens who went off to college and did the exact same thing they did while in high school which was to go to keg parties and try to stick their d***s into as many girls as possible. I pray American Wedding is the last of this god awful series of party movies. Although this movie may be a good educational tape for parents and may promote good advice: dont send your kids into college, make em go into the military and learn some discipline cause thats what our generation needs today! And a shout out to the makers of American Pie, Loser, Road Trip, How to Deal and so on: stop making these awful movies! your making my generation look bad!
I haven't laughed that hard since 'Meet the parents'. It was FUNNY fromveryfirst scene to the last scene. All characters kind of matured exceptStiffler's. He just became even more FUNNIER!!! To me the movie was quietrealistic and all of the things that transpired were more than possible.Thebiggest guffaw was when Stiffler breaks into the room of 'PotentialLesbians' and finds 'Steve'(wink wink) and is ecstatic and comes outswinging with 'Steve' in his hand. I have already bought the movie. Thisis definitely kind of movie that can be watched over and over.My advise to all who like fun-movies to ignore the comments and analysisofthose who were expecting to see a movie where the problems of teenagersareseriously analyzed and solutions are proposed. There are even peoplecomplaining about kids not shown solving 'Math' problems. For people likethose, there are many movies like 'Schindler's List' and 'American X' etc.
The first American Pie was a good film, it was funny in places, weird at theright moments and a generally diverting film. But it was far toosentimental. American Pie 2 is just BETTER! The whole cast is reunited forthis film and it is pulled off with a humour that Road Trip and DWMC? bothfailed to hit. From the return of The Sherminator to Stifler(Sean W Scott)wanting to 'take one for the team' (you'll see what I mean when you see it!)this film is the shining example of what a teen comedy shouldbe. The start of this film is superb, I was laughing almost immediately at Jim'sDad's attempts to play it cool when he finds his son in a 'compromisingsituation'. I thought that this film had something which the first onelacked in some respects and that was spontanaity and timing. Don't get mewrong, American Pie had these two qualities, but they weren't use to theperfection that Pie 2 does. A superb example is Stifler's final words of theentire film, used just when the audience thinks its all over. But far be itfrom me to ruin the fun...watch it yourself and see.
This is a top notch sequel to one of the best teen comedies of all time(in my opinion), its hilarious and repeats the great successful formulathat made the 1st work so well!. All the characters are wonderful onceagain, and the story is just awesome!, plus Seann William Scott andJason Biggs are simply amazing in this!. You are able to relate androot for the trio once again, and Stiffler is even funnier and moreobnoxious then the 1st, and I loved it!, plus I loved how his littlebrother imitated Stiffler it was just hilarious!. Biggs and AlysonHannigan had wonderful chemistry together here and made a fantasticcouple, and out of all the the trio Oz (Chris Klein) definitely seemedto be the most developed and mature of the three as he clearly was seton one girl!, plus the scene where Stiffler gets peed on is gross butside splitting!. Like the 1st it's good natured and the famous sceneinvolving the Lesbians is really funny!, plus the ending is just greatand made me smile!. I didn't really dig what Stiffler did to Oz andHeather during there phone conversations, and I wish Kevin's characterwould have moved on from Vicky, plus the scene involving the famous Iglued myself to myself is a classic!.Finch and Stiffler's scenes together were always funny, and the scenewhere Jim plays the trumpet is very funny, plus the soundtrack isreally awesome!. For a sequel this is as good as it gets and there is acool reunion with Finch and Stiffler's mom at the end, plus I reallyliked the dialog. it's extremely well written and made and I feel thisshould be much higher then 6.2 !, plus Oz is the most likable characteronce again!, followed closely by Jim, Kevin and Michelle. It actuallyhas more laughs then the original, but the story is not quite as good, and some of the returning characters don't have as much to do, howeverI did love that Sherman and Nadia hooked up!. Eugene Levy is hilariousonce again as Jim's dad especially in the opening, and Finch'scharacter is even more bizarre this time around, plus Mena Suvari andChris Klein were awesome together once again!. This is a top notchsequel to one of the best teen comedies of all time (In my opinion),its hilarious and repeats the great successful formula that made the1st work so well, and if you haven't seen it and loved American Pie, Doso immediately you won't regret it!.The Direction is wonderful!. James B. Rogers does a wonderful job here, with excellent camera work, and keeping the film hilarious and at anextremely fast pace throughout!.The Acting is fantastic!. Jason Biggs is amazing here, he is extremelyhilarious, likable, had fantastic chemistry with Alyson Hannigan, hadsome hilarious lines, and was lovable just like he was in the 1st!,he's one of the main reasons why the American Pie series is sogreat!(Biggs Rules!!). Chris Klein does an excellent job once again, this guy is seriously underrated, and has loads of talent if you askme, he also had excellent chemistry with Mena Suvari once again, Ireally dig this guy! (Klien Rules!!). Thomas Ian Nicholas is great onceagain as Kevin, he had the same likability like he had in the 1st, hewas great. Seann William Scott is amazing as always, and is amazinghere, he is just sidesplitting, and even More obnoxious this timearound, and i loved it!, his scene running around with the rubberthingy(can't say it's prohibited here) was just crazy! (ScottRules!!!!!). Alyson Hannigan is stunningly gorgeous and is wonderful asMichelle, she was just lovable and had some hilarious lines, and herchemistry with Biggs was just great!. Shannon Elizabeth is OK as Nadiabut didn't have as much to do, she looked hot though. Natasha Lyonne isalso OK as Jessica but also didn't have as much to do. Tara Reid isstunningly gorgeous and did good with what she had to do, which was notmuch, and her character was kind of selfish this time around, she stilldid good though. Mena Suvari is is gorgeous, and did fine once again, but also didn't have as much to do, but her chemistry with Klein wason!. Eddie Kaye Thomas is very good as Finch once again I liked him.Chris Owen is funny as the "Sherminator" once again, her and Nadia madean amusing couple. Eugene Levy is hilarious as Jim's dad once again Ilove him!. Jennifer Coolidge is good in her cameo as Stiffler's mom.Rest of the cast do fine.Overall Go see it immediately!. ***** out of 5
I have only met one person who didn't like this film. So, I decided togive it a shot, even though I disliked the first "American Pie". I haveto admit, I had a couple laughs. But there were still a lot of jokesthat were too close to the first one. The plot was also the same. Idon't mind that too much. But if you didn't enjoy the first one, youwon't get a big kick out of this one. I did enjoy some of the jokes. And the story was a point above the first one. So, if you loved the1st, be my guest. If you didn't enjoy the 1st one, still give the 2nd ashot. You don't know what you may get. Some may actually just enjoy the2nd one alone. Who knows? Maybe I'll even watch "American Wedding". 5/10
this movie definitely made me laugh as much as the first one did. it isjustas rude, just as predictable and it has a romantic edge to it too. it is aworthy sequel, does teen comedy get any better than this? i dont thinkso!
