2nd Time Around

I had to scan the imdb for other users who realized this was the exact samemovie as Eight Days A Week, to make sure I was not inadvertentlyplagiarizing someone else's comment. Several others commenting on the imdbnoticed the same thing.The screen writer of this movie made good use of his work...he used the samescreen play twice! Take one movie you made, but change the character from ahigh school student to a college one, use the same voice over technique, usethe same dialogue but change some of it around and have a thesaurus handy,even add a friend who is obsessed with doing odd things to his genitalia andvoicing his perspectives regarding women, and what do you get? Twoteen/young adult movies for the work of one!I found both movies enjoyable though. So I am not necessarily criticizinghis work. Heck, I might be even a little jealous that he was able to salethe same screen play twice. I guess we all have done it at one time oranother...take some work for school or work and use it as a template forsome other work without being very original the second time around. Butagain, I more or less liked the movie, or both, movies, which is really thesame movie. Yikes!!! What does that say about me?

This film is funny, smart and occasionally sexy

This film is kind of like a whodunnit, except that instead of someonegetting killed at the beginning, the main charachter has sex with a girlina lift in the dark, the rest of the film is spent following the boy as hetries to find that girl, along the way he discovers a lot about the girlshemeets and completely changes his opinions. This film is funny, smart andoccasionally sexy, it keeps you guessing right up to the end, and it'sbrilliant. I'm not going to say any more because i'd spoil it, so go findyourself a copy somewhere and watch it.

witty, blunt and sharp dialogue, excellent performances

I just saw this on HBO. Unfortunately I missed the big plot scene---the onein the elevator. I still figured out who it was but I found myself wantingit to be all the three major female leads. They were all extremely likablecharacters and the actors were excellent. Writing for this is wonderful andthe delivery of the lines matches their intrigue. I definately rooted forthe "dork" who has a killer smile. Although I thought the ending was a bitneat and tidy I liked it a lot and highly recommend it. The only thing Ididn't like was the tongue biting part. I truly could have done withoutthat--eww. If you haven't seen this, go rent it. I am going to buy itthough!

A good teen movie

I saw this movie on cable one night and I was immediately hooked to the story which is a great one. I'm not going to go into great detail about the story, because you have to see the movie for yourself. After I saw the movie, I immediately wanted the DVD, and after patient waiting I got it. But enought about that, let's get on to why I think its a good movie. I liked it because it has a very original story. The movie is about a college freshman who goes into an elevator one night, when the lights go out. The elevator stops and the lights go out inside the elevator as well. Inside of the elevator besides him is a girl. When he entered the elevator he didn't get a good look at the girl's face, which is a major plot point. The two end up having a very long discussion and end up having sex in the elevator. Once the lights come back on, the girl leaves without even looking at him, so he doesn't know who he had sex with. The rest of the movie, he sets out on a quest to find the woman in the elevator. I'm not going to tell you wether he does or doesn't. Along the way, there are some pyschological thoughts in which he brings to the table, since he is in a Sex class with all the students being girls instead of one, who happens to be his roommate. The dialouge is thought provoking and is worth listening to. This is basically a low budget film, but not an independent one and has not been seen by many people and actually has some noticeable people in this movie like Jamie Pressly. If you happen to be in a video store and happen to come accross this DVD/Video, I suggest you rent it. It is a very good movie.

Beta male masterpiece!

If you want to watch a movie written for women who want to be with abeta male; but don't really want to. This film is for you. This movieis like watching a little skinny white kid crush his testicles in frontof a room filled with rabid misandrists; over, and over, again.The main actor in the film does a surprisingly good job with hishorribly written voice overs that drone on; but they use a lot of bigwords; so it's clever; right?All in all, the movie is visually and auditorilly bland likebutter-less toast. It wishes it could be a good romantic comedy likethe barrage of excellent films that came out in the 80s. If you haven'tseen Better Off Dead yet; watch that instead.

A fun little college campus romp for the guys

"100 Girls" is a slightly naive comedy romp about a college freshman whohassex with an unknown coed on an elevator during a blackout and then spendsthe entire run time searching the girls' dorm for his "Cinderella". Tuckeris at the center of this fun little romp which is chock full of babes buthas little nudity, no raunch, and some heart. Unsophisticated but fun,creative though cliche, "100 Girls" aptly dignifies women without deifyingthem during the self-narrated dissertation on the difference between thesexes. Most likely to be enjoyed by college age men and older guys, likeme,who remember their college years with nostalgia.

This is a worthwhile rental, but kind of disappointing to see such potential wasted.

This movie could have been great. It had a good premise and some originalcharacters. Its major problem was with its director (Michael Davis). Withacouple of changes to the script and a better director, I think it wouldhavemade a showing at the box office. The thing I like most about his movie isit cleaver dialog about the male/female relationship. That, and all thebeautiful women in the cast (especially Larisa Oleynik) make this aworthwhile rental, but kind of disappointing to see such potentialwasted.

The Best Film Ever, The American Pie of Next Year!!!

Although this movie does not come out in the US for half a year or so...this is a very promising movie. I have just seen the movie and I thoughtitwas great. This is definitely the American Pie of 2001. Its got a greatcastas well as great actors. Unfortunately since this is an independent filmitmay not get the hype that it deserves. Although in my mind this movie iswaybetter then American Pie it will probably never be as popular because ofthis fact. Anyway... I recommend you go see this movie the second it hitstheaters... I give this movie a 10 out of 10 this movie isespecially for the 15-25 year old age range... teens will love it, whileadults may enjoy it too.

Great movie

When asked to recommend an "Independent" film, this is the one I suggest.Everyone I know who's seen it, went out and bought a dvd for themselves.Not quite perfect enough for mainstream consumption, it's much betterwritten than most films in this genre.

If you like hot girls, boobs, and laughing see this movie!

ALthough this was made for young teens, I thought this movie wasincredible.I read about it on a forum at school, dl'd it, and was in love. Themovieis truly incredible. You gotta hand it to those French...they know how tolose a war, but they really know how to make a movie. (I'm just kidding.ILOVE France =) ) I recommend this movie for anyone. It's 'prequel' EightDays a Week was really bad. It had one or two moments, but nothingworthwhile. See 100 Girls, OR PERISH!!!

Really Funny.

This movie was on television, and I had been wanting to rent it, butwhenit was on the t.v., I decided to watch it. This movie reminded me ofAmerican Pie for some reason, yet I have no idea why. Jonathan Tucker,Emmanuelle Chriqui, Katherine Heigl, James DeBello, Jaime Pressly, LarisaOleynik, and Marissa Ribisi were all great and funny. This was a very funmovie. I give 100 Girls an 8 out of 10. :)

The best of the teen movies

Unlike most of the teen movies these days where gross jokes and barebreastsrule, and nothing much else matters, this movie stands apart because youcome away caring about the main character, and as an added bonus itactuallyhas a plot that is interesting. The final scene outside the dorm, is onethat would make Casanova proud!

Guys...Girls...we're all screwed up.

This movie takes the biggest differences between the genders, and makestheminto the funniest 90 minutes available on DVD. I've never before seen amovie which takes such taboo subjects (most of which can't be mentionedhere), and tackles them so lightheartedly.Oh, and the chicks are hot. If for no other reason, see this movie forthehot friggin' chicks.Can I say friggin' here? Enh...whatever.

Sweet and light, but uneven.

One can't have high expectations for a movie like this, directed as itis at the college crowd. I thought that parts were raunchier than theyneeded to be, but that's the audience that it targets. The lead waspretty good, but stiff with lines at times. The actor playing hisfriend did a good job in that role. The lead also looked a little youngfor the part. Some plot points were weak and not credible to the pointof being distracting, but, again, the movie shoots low. Was slow andeven boring at times. Chriqui's performance was not a strong point. Itwas surprisingly sweet at times. On the whole, it is worth watching forthe college crowd, but probably not much beyond that. A relativelyharmless film that one could skip without missing lessons learned inbetter films.

A must see miss

In a country where souless sequels and formulaic romances dominate the box office, this movie slips through the cracks with the potential to be something different. Through Matthew's narrative, this movie explores not only the collegiate male psyche, but also takes a different and very humorous view of the teen-love genre. Whether using witty aliteration or thought provoking analogies, Matthew provides a character with enough geeky cuteness to be both seen as a movie character, and as a peer. Its nice to see a leading man who's average. This movie makes average look so appealing. Definately a movie worth watching.

100 girls

This review is from: 100 Girls (Amazon Instant Video) Alright so 100 girls is essentially a romantic comedy set in college from a guy's point of view. The male protagonist spends the film searching for a mystery girl he copulated with on an elevator during a power outage and comedy ensues, or something like that. My problem with the film is that it is filled with little subplots that feel non sequitur and like interruptions to the main story line rather than being effectively interwoven with the rest of the plot. Additionally this is an R rated film and it has very strong sexual content, sometimes I felt the nudity and sexual elements were unwarranted. That said there were some laughs to be had and it wasn't a complete waste of time, just be aware going into this that it's not a Great film, it's a raunchy "thrown together" college romantic comedy.

As the title tells you this movie contains a lot of girls. But the mainsubject in this is the relationship between a man and a women. The maincharacter Matt (Matthew) has had a one night stand in a elevator but hedoesn't now who the girl is the only thing he do now is that a pair oftrousers belongs to her. He starts his journey to find this girl andwhile his searching his learning more and more about how men treatwomen and the other way around. He releases that men are fools. This iswhat this movie is about and it really triggers a man's thoughts andmakes us discover how bad we really are. So the tip of the day for allmen around the world is to watch this movie. Another narrative masterpiece from Michael Davis

I really enjoyed watching this movie for several reasons.Firstly, (and let's get this out of the way right now) it was writtenby the same person that gave us "Eight Days a Week," another narrativeclassic which gives guys like me hope.Second, it delves into not only the male frame of mind, but also takesus into the other side of the spectrum and shows us how women thinkabout men.This time around, we have a different character: Matthew, who, during ablackout on a college campus, has a sexual encounter with an unknowngirl in an elevator. Unfortunately, when he comes to in the elevator,the only thing that can connect him to said unknown girl is herpanties.Just like "Eight Days a Week," Matthew also has a friend with an absurdquirk. (Think Peter's friend with an even more disgusting prop.) I'venoticed in these movies that the narrator has such vivid descriptionsof their objectives or possible threats... it's like there's somethingeven I could stand to brush up on.Finally, I love how it all ties together. I won't spoil it for anyonewho hasn't seen it, so I'll just leave you all with this: anyone whosees Michael Davis movies will become obsessed with Michael Davis.10/10

A movie that makes you happy

I really enjoyed this movie but not because it was one of those greatmovies. You know what I mean by great movies? They speak to you on manylevels, they bring you up and down in an emotional roller-coaster ride,they astound you with their displays of skill in direction, script,cinematography and acting, and they are innovative beyond belief. Whenyou leave the theater, you think about them for days. Critics lovethem, professors explain them and students ponder over them. This isnot one of those movies.Then there are other movies that are just enjoyable and make you feelgood. They don't require a lot of attention to follow or figure out.You know where they are going but they have just enough of theunexpected to make the journey interesting. You know the hero/heroinewill win out in the end, and you like that because that makes it safeto connect with the hero/heroine. When you leave the theater, you arehappy because it is nice to think that life could be like that, andthat things could work out.Some reviewers here have complained about plot holes and other thingsin the film. They miss the point. This is not a slice of life, a deepdrama or complex comedy. It is a fantasy. If you are a guy, you can seeyourself in Matt, and if you are female you see parts of yourself inthe one or all of the 100 girls. The fact that some things are notprobable only adds to the atmosphere fantasy in the film. After thefirst few minutes you already know that this is not real life. This isa myth about a boy and a girl. The boy is on a quest to find his love,and the girl is yearning presence shrouded in mystery waiting to befound. You know he will eventually find her; that he will go thoughimprobable experiences which will test him and she will anguish overallowing herself to be discovered and revealed. We all have suchquests, and such desires. You know that in the end he will win, and sowill she and so will many of the other characters. It is an age oldstory that has been retold and retold for thousands of years, and it isone of mankind's most beloved stories. When it is over you feel happyand think that maybe things can be good for you too. That is a kind ofmagic that many "great movies" never achieve, but this one does. So ifyou see this movie, don't over-analyze it. Just go with it, and enjoyfeeling good.
