Sonny, a talented Midwestern girl, has won a nationwide talent search to move to Los Angeles and star in a popular television series. Sonny's home and work life is documented along with her adjustment to life in the spotlight.

The series debuted on February 8, 2009 in the United States. This is the first Disney Channel Original Series to be shot and aired in high-definition from the beginning; like most of Disney Channel's sitcoms, it is shot on tape, but uses a "filmized" appearance. The second season, some scenes are shot on location. The series is one of three Disney Channel Original Series to feature a show-within-a-show, with the others being The Famous Jett Jackson and Shake It Up. The show ended on January 2, 2011, and is succeeded by So Random!.

"Camp Rock," centers on a teen girl who desperately wants to spend her summer at a prestigious rock camp, but can only attend if she works in the kitchen as one of the cooks. When she's overheard singing - but not seen -- by a teen pop star at the camp, he is completely taken and sets out to find the girl behind the beautiful voice. But first she must confront her fears, step out of the kitchen and into the spotlight.

Here, Demi Lovato returns as Mitchie Toress for another summer with Camp Rock with her friends. When on her way to Camp Rock, she found that there's Camp Star or another camp across the lake owned by Axel Turner or Brown's friend, owner of Camp Rock's rival now. Invited by Camp Star for a bonfire, Camp Star's main spotlight, Luke Williams gave a performance and soon, Camp Rock was in danger of being closed down. At stake, Mitchie challenges them to an ultimate showdown deciding who should continue, Camp Rock or Camp Star.

When a tiny country is invaded by a dictator, a young Princess (later known as Rosie) is taken into custody by the Princess Protection Program. She is whisked away to rural Louisiana where she must learn the ins and outs of behaving like a normal American teenager. In the process of adapting to her new life, Rosie gives her new friend and roommate, Carter, a few lessons in how to act with royal aplomb.
