Aspiring filmmakers Mel Funn, Marty Eggs and Dom Bell go to a financially troubled studio with an idea for a silent movie. In an effort to make the movie more marketable, they attempt to recruit a number of big name stars to appear, while the studio's creditors attempt to thwart them. The film contains only one word of dialogue, spoken by an unlikely source.

A burned out writer retreats to a northwest town called Hellview to write the great American novel. Unfortunately for him, the lighthouse he is renting is inhabited by the spirit of a woman who killed herself there one hundred years before and now wants him to replace her lost love, Captain Howdy. In The Big Mouth, Jerry Lewis plays the role of Gerald Clamson, a bank examiner on vacation who, while fishing, catches a frogman - the frogman, who coincidentally is the spitting image of Jerry Lewis, has stolen diamonds from his criminal gang, and hidden them at a nearby resort hotel. Clamson takes the map to the diamonds given him by the frogman, and makes his escape while the gangsters attack. A young troubled boy named Pete and his guardian dragon Elliott elude the abusive Gogan family, who all use Pete as a slave instead of a loved child.
